Re: cyatic910 – Re: jenb2003 – Being against the war has nothing to do with being against the troops–we want them home or fighting a war that is actually against the people who attacked us. I feel horrible that our government lied to us and them! It makes me sob whenever I see the name of another soldier who has died in Iraq
I agree that there were things that Clinton could have done as well to prevent Bin Laden from orchestrating the attack, but it is also a fact that FBI agents came to the CIA before 9/11 to tell them that pilots were being trained by Bin Laden. We definitely could've done something! In fact, for 6 years, John O'Neill was the FBI's leading expert on Al Queda. He warned the Bush administration that Al Queda would attack the World Trade Center again. He was considered a maverick and was completely ignored. So in 2001, he left his job and went to work at the World Trade Center as the head of security so that he could literally try to stop it himself–or do what he could. He died on 9/11. He died because they wouldn't listen to his REPEATED warnings. Check out the man's documentary on PBS. It's fascinating. It simply seems that Bush is like teflon–he also ignored warnings, just like Clinton, but for some reason, he's a knight in shining armor for going after a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 after the fact and Clinton is villified consistently. It just makes no sense to me and smacks of hypocrisy.
I think McCain is getting a bounce right now but that will go down a bit but i think Palin will nail Biden's ass in the debate, people underestimate her. I for one am stoked about the McCain/Palin ticket. After the Saddleback debacle it's clear Obama isn't ready.
Re: Bronte34[/re[re=2852411]Re: Bronte34 – you miss the point…mccain is not stealing a slogan….he is forcing debate on the definition of change
Re: jenb2003 – Obama has very specific ideas. McCain's are just More of Bush–same economic, foreign, education, health policy–voted with Bush 90% of the time. Oh, what a maverick. He stole Obama's slogan! lol Oh man, if it wasn't so frightening for our country, it would be funny.
Re: jenb2003 – Remember that McCain wouldn't sign the GI bill–as a military wife, it's shocking you would support him.
Re: SquirrelLives – I agree with you that it would be great to tighten the belt a bit, I am with you there, but absolutely not at the expense of our freedom, our security, or our military. It seems those were the things Bill Clinton decided were expendable, and it cost us more than we ever gained monetarily. The key is to find places to trim that are truly fat and not muscle.
To Wrenn,
I marvel at how uneducated your ilk is. You remind me of the type that says, "I read it on the internet - it has to be true".
BHO - an avenue to higher taxes, less services and higher welfare.
That's not the way to invigorate an economy. If you don't believe me - go to college. It's that basic. Take Economics 101. You're such a fool.
Wrenn, I welcome your response (if it's not past your bedtime), but instead of calling people names, list actual facts. If, in fact, you're educated, you should be able to list many things BHO has done. We'll even give you the break on the fact that most of his senate (what 145 days) has been spent campaigning.
What bills has he sponsored or written? Why is his district in Chicago (which he gladly talks about) amongst the most worse off? Why won't he willingly debate McCain, which McCain has asked umpteen times? Why does he defend his crazy associates and then throw them under the bus when the heat is turned up? Why does he change his stance on the tax reductions? Why does he make most of his life off limits yet expect his opponents to explain theirs?
Until you can explain those questions - you're toast. And so is your candidate "for change". Ha! He picks a white dude that's been in the senate for almost 30 years. Please—– explain so I can get it.
Re: cyatic910 – thank you
Don't bother. He's gonna keep blocking it. I figured something was up when I didn't see you. He's been blocking me relentlessly.
Re: cyatic910 – When did I speak for you? I didn't say anything about what the troops thought. I said I supported the troops–and no, disrespecting the president does NOT mean I am disrespecting the troops, it means I am fighting for the troops to save them from the lies and insanity. America was built by our founding fathers on the premise that Americans SHOULD question their government, not blindly follow it. I think our troops are incredibly brave and have the hardest job on the planet. I can't even imagine–I do nothing but commend you for your service.
Nope he’s not letting it through, how hypocritical is that? Isn’t Perez’s family from a communist country? Doesn’t his country believe in executing gays? So he comes here to the land of the free with the same censorship that his family ran away from…go figure.
Re: sweetpiece – Post 199
If he is dead, he's alive and well in Perez.
Re: jenb2003 –
Yes, as you say, fat and not muscle. Definitely not muscle. We're gonna need what we have and more in the years to come.
Americans going to vote more republicans in?? The apocalypse is NIGH!!
Re: SquirrelLives – Grrrr it pisses me off I have great info for these people ,plus my opinion on the facts and he shit’s on it….it make me so damn mad I can’t even tell you!
Skittles,
Your post makes no sense. Go back to school.
BRONTE34…………leave CYATIC alone if you want talk about YOUR opinion on the war do it with me. Cyatic has done his/her time dodging bullets for you and me. This war is JUSTIFIED rather you want to believe it or not, we helped the people of Iraq, we secured a country, gave it a new government and freed the people. The sad thing is you think that was wrong….you need to THANK cyatic for your right to your opinion.
THANK GOD.
Re: Bronte34 –
(again with the odd redneck comments….what is that about??)
Oh My Douchebag, it looks like I struck a nerve! Love it!~ Don't be sad because the Muslim Barack Hussein & his America Hating wife won't be in the White House…you can try again with all your liberal losers next time! Nice Try Douche
Re: Bronte34 – HAHAHA! Nice try. McCain didn't "refuse to sign the GI Bill". He opposes the EXPANSION of said bill *AS IT HAS BEEN PRESENTED*. And, as an Army wife, I agree with him. The new provisions of the bill would destroy the volunteer military (not to mention bankrupt the till used to provide many more pressing programs and services), which is already stretched thin because most in this country want to enjoy the rights and privileges without giving anything of themselves in return. And of those who do enter into military service today, many are only doing it to pay for college, then they get out to find a "real job" (Oh, the irony!). If the GI Bill were expanded in the way it's being presented now, even more service members would opt out of the military after taking full advantage of the bill.
Re: Beachy – And to which post are you referring too?
part 2: As McCain has said, he is supportive of an expansion of the bill, but in a way that the incentive is to enter into and stay in the military, not as an incentive to serve the minimum to get the benefit, then get out. McCain is showing his deep loyalty to the military by taking this stance. Service Before Self. When he says he puts his country first, he actually means it. A new concept on the Hill, I know, but there you have it. It's also important that before we allocate a huge chunk of the miniscule military budget to extended education for veterans (read: those no longer serving, therefore their higher education will benefit only themselves, not the military or the rest of the country), it is prudent to expand and increase medical care for veterans. With limited funds, priorities must be made and I think John McCain has a firm grasp on that concept.
Yep people are getting turned off by all of the shit talking on the web of Palin and her daughter. Thanks Dems! You're screwing yourselves yet again! Once again the celebrity endorsement ISN'T WORTH SHIT! Right Gore? Right Kerry? Right Obama?
Re: jenb2003 – I just want to warn you that "Bronte 34"
likes to spew liberal nonsense and refer to intelligent people as
"REDNECKS" do not take it personally. He is just upset because Obama will inevitably LOSE the election. Someone needs anger management
Re: SKITTLES – #216 LOL Skittles
:-):-) it does get monotonous proving points! But it has to be done so people are informed of the facts, rather than the jumping on the Bush Bashing-Bandwagon. Facts I see are that Barry wanted to play down a few people's pasts' (racists and unrepentant terrorists) in tonight's O'Reilly interview so WHY NOT let the past die then? January 20 we will have a new President. Everyone's on the countdown. The surge worked, Bush is on his way out, so let's concentrate on picking the best man for the job! John McCain.
Re: melsteinberg – I love that! You forgot to mention though; they like to point out typos, call you a racist, uneducated and just down right asshole… they have nothing to show they’re intelligence but to resort to pompous airs.
Re: Melissa is always right – AMEN!!!!
Re: melsteinberg – lol, thanks, but I don't actually mind. When people challange my opinions and beliefs, it forces me to examine them and inevitably, I end up even more convicted. I think intellectual debate is good for us all, I've always been taught to question everything because it forces you to find the answers for yourself and so doing, you really know what you believe. Name calling and anger are diversionary tactics people resort to when they have no real arguements and I have pretty thick skin where that's concerned. I know who I am and I know what I stand for.
hmm, isn't the definition of INSANITY doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results? Thanks America…you are proven insane
Re: sweetpiece – You're right I will be paying for more war. But McCain will drill…and i'm all for drilling. Everyone keeps saying that thats not a solution for right or a long term solution, but Obama has NO solution PERIOD. I'm sorry. I'm not being ignorant and I'm not just voting because McCain's a republican because I've voted democrats before. I just don't trust Obama at all…there is something that is all too shady about him.
This is probably due to the fact that McCain has more realistic ideas and platforms. I originally was all for Obama but McCain is just making a lot more sense to me now. Think of it this way…. would your rather have:
a president with experience and a vice president with little experience
or
a president with little experience and a vice president with experience?
Exactly.
Re: Bronte34 – you sound like the commerical i see everyday on tv. It's not RESEARCH when you're just copying what a commerical for Obama says.
Re: jenb2003 – by the way, you should be very proud of your husband in the military…as I am sure you are!
Reminde to all: Bronte 34 is a self loathing, liberal douche!
And yes I am from the wonderful swing state of Missouri. Hopefully we'll make a good decision.
Re: Bronte34 – ah yes, the "wonderful" clinton years….who can forget those. Clinton managed to let Osama Bin Laden get away b/c he was too busy sticking cigars up Lewinsky's hooha
Re: Bronte34 – Perhaps you can do us all a favor and LEAVE this county. Your boy Obama Hussein aint gonna win
(I put that so you'd call me a redneck again…I love to get you angry, it's so easy)
Re: Bronte34 –
#211
Thank you, this blog just gets me worked up sometimes.
Re: jenb2003 – #229 - ABSOLUTELY! You ever notice that these comments start out mostly petty and nasty towards McCain and Palin and by the end, it's Conservatives shutting it down. lol
Re: SKITTLES –
#218
Thank you very much.
OK SO EVERYONE THINK S OBAMA IS GOING TO TAX ONLY THE “RICH” AND “BIG BUSINESS” RIGHT? Let me break it down for you…It works like this big business get taxed heavy right? Guess what they do? They raise prices even more bringing up your cost. Universal Healthcare? I DON’T THINK SO …doesn’t it already piss you off with what your paying now so people can sit on they’re asses…STOP GIVING FREEBIES? Research Obama find out his actions in Chicago before you pass the oblivious blindfold, PEOPLE LEARN THE FACTS
Re: Bronte34 – I don't think Bush ignored the warning, but as he had just come into office and had no specific intel to work with, what really could he have done? As I've already pointed out and you conveniently ignored, Bill Clinton, who had also been repeatedly warned, PASSED on the opportunity to take Bin Ladin into custody. THAT was blatant dismissal of the warning. President Bush was given no such opportunity. John O'Neill had been saying for YEARS and YEARS that Al Queda was going to attack the WTC again, but obviously he didn't know exactly when because 9/11 was, tragically, his first or second day on the job. So, the glaring difference between Clinton and Bush is Clinton had a real and tangible opportunity to stop Bin Ladin and he didn't take it and Bush got hit with the aftereffects of this inaction within months of coming to office.
part 2: And, in stark contrast, President Bush took swift and strong action. The search has been on for Bin Ladin ever since that fateful day, and we DO have troops fighting in Afghanistan as well as Iraq. At the same time, under this administration, we've seen another terrorist taken out of power and justice being served. Just because Saddam Huessein wasn't the mastermind behind 9/11 doesn't mean he wasn't a terrorist and a threat. Where does it say the only terrorist we can and should pursue is Bin Ladin? It's all connected, terrorism is a many headed beast and our military, though stressed and stretched, is heading the call to duty and fighting it any way and everywhere possible.
Re: cyatic910 – No it is I who thanks you! Thank for keeping my family I safe, thank you for going into a country where the people are being persecuted and freeing them in the name of the U.S.A.,THANK YOU FOR BEING AWAY FROM YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS ON THE HOLIDAYS! JUST THANK YOU FOR MY WAY OF LIFE!
Re: melsteinberg – I am SO proud of my husband (Army), older brother (Army), brother-in-law (Air Force), brother-in-law (Army), cousins (Army), Uncles (Army & Marines), Aunts (Army), and friends (Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force). If I didn't have a congenital heart defect, I'd be in the Navy right now, I can't tell you what a blow it was to be turned down and how fortunate I feel to be married to a Soldier in the United States Army. I get a chill just typing those words. And I truly hope my sons feel called to military service, nothing would make me happier. We bleed red, white, and blue in my family, make no mistake:)
Re: SKITTLES – Amen.
Re: SKITTLES – I completely agree with you. It really does piss me off that i'm paying for a lot of people to sit on their asses! I actually KNOW someone who MOVED to the next state over because their welfare benefits were better! it's fucking ridiculous! I'm aware there are hard working people that still need help but there are TOO many people that are collecting just because of pure laziness! If Obama taxes the rich almost 50%…and those people own businesses or run something of some sort, there are going to be more lay offs because they can't afford to pay out anymore. The rich are also going to be less likely to invest in anything. Everyone thinks because our economy is bad with Bush right now the logic thing would be to go opposite, but Obama is going to finish off this country with his policies.
Re: SKITTLES – #241 - I don't think it will show up anywhere how he blatantly lied to us in Southern Illinois; came down from Chicago and told us he had heard from several folks downstate that they felt they neglected by the State Government. He promised us he wouldn't let us feel that way any longer if we elected him to the U.S. Senate. Never saw him down here again until the next time he back around begging us to elect him as the nominee.
Re: jenb2003 – #245 - You and your family are Great Americans!
Re: Gossip_Girl32 – Its depressing isn’t? That’s our tax dollars paying for the able not the needy .I say do away with welfare except for the old and the children. If you can a baby you can make a paycheck. The problem with the United States is we reward laziness and don’t reward those who rise above laziness. Welfare was put in place during the depression to help people. Unfortunately it’s become a way of life for some.
Re: Melissa is always right – Why, thank you:) The best part is, we're all happy. We are living the American Dream. I don't own a house and I drive a 12 year old car that has no a/c (we're stationed in Texas, lol, LOVE it) and I only spend about 4-6 out of every 24 months living in the same zip code as my husband, but I wouldn't trade a moment of it. The best piece of advice I was ever given was 'live like you mean it' and I absolutely do. I am blessed. I have a wonderful husband who loves me, beautiful sons, and the love and support of the vast network that is the military community. Who could ask for more?
I'll be moving to Australia if McCain wins. No joke.
Re: lexington – waves goodbye*…why not Iraq THERE WASN'T A PROBLEM OVER THERE. FEEL FREE TO GO!
Obama will turn his back on gays just like he did on Hillary. He is not for gays, woman, or even people not of color. America is seeing the light.
BLOCKED AGAIN MY COMMENT
Re: SKITTLES – hahahaha…sorry, I can't help but laugh. So many people "threaten" to leave (though I still haven't figured out why these statements should send me into a tailspin?), but you know they won't. Because underneath it all, we all believe that we are fortunate to live in America. We may enjoy traveling to other countries and experiencing the world around us, very few of us actually want to give up our lives here. A perfect example is that our unemployment rate just hit a 5 year high…at around 6%. SIX PERCENT, people. Our worst is still better than most alternatives. And of the Americans who are unemployed, how many are actively looking for work? There are "help wanted" and "now hiring" signs all over town, so I'm thinking if people really wanted to work, they could.
Re: jenb2003 – Lol I know I keep pointing out that there is burger joints hiring, that is if you really want to work! Mean while your husband is fighting for they’re right to be lazy ass holes and leaving you and his alone so they have the right to poo poo a job because they are better than that. This America if you want to work there’s a job.
Re: LordKain – i'm so with you on that
I love that people are STILL dropping the "MCCAIN VOTED WITH BUSH 90% OF THE TIME" statistic!
Guess what?? For the 20 minutes Obama was in the Senate, he voted with his party 97%(!) percent of the time! Sounds like he's ready for some serious CHANGE, huh?
Re: jenb2003 – Goodnight honey may you husband/family have the angels watching over them tonight!
I'm totally down with all the Democrats moving to Canada. We won't even NEED a welfare system if we get rid of all the lazy people who want to be rewarded for doing nothing! Canada may not be too happy with us though :/
Re: jenb2003 – what an AMAZING family…it is b/c of great people like them that we have our freedom. God Bless them
Re: Bronte34 – I almost forgot to reply to this one…what exactly are Obama's "very specific ideas"? The only thing I ever heard him say were paraphrases of Hillary Clinton's ideas (because he answered after her in their debates). I would LOVE for you to tell me in clear, concise terms, what Obama's actual positions are on the major issues and in concrete terms how he intend to effect the change he's been talking about. And I have to disagree with you and many others who say that McCain is "Bush 2.0", anyone who's ever looked at his record, who's ever heard him speak about the issues, who is at all informed about his campaign could tell you that while they are both Republicans, they are very different men. And while President Bush was the right man for the job the last 8 years, McCain is the right man for this new era dawning in America. While I agree that it is time for some changes, they must be smart changes brought about with responsibility. But make no mistake, 4 or 8 years ago, it wasn't time for "change", it was time to stay the course.
Here is the bottom line. Govenor Palin is exactly what women have been waiting for all these years. Every single mom in this country can relate to her. Even though some women do not agree with her beliefs they will vote for her because of how comforting her speeches are, her ability to touch their hearts just by the way she shows love for her family and her passion for this country. She is the most feminan badass I've ever encountered. This country was founded on guns, god and guts. She believes in all three. She is the prime example of the American dream. She went from the PTA, to the city council, to the mayer, to the govenor and now to the VP. WOW.
Re: Renfamous – HAHAHAHAHAHAHA…I'm laughing so hard, you have no idea. As I have Canadian friends, I won't wish that on them. I think it's funny that people want to leave America for countries with similar, and many times worse, problems. I mean, if I really got fed up and was going to leave, I'd say "I'm moving to a deserted island".
Women have been standing on the sidelines in America for long enough. I think it's about time this country got a womenly touch. From an actual women. Hilary doesn't count. She's somewhere between the fat girl that use to steal my lunch money and the lesbian who benches more then most men. What happens when things go bad in your life? Who do most of us turn to? Mom and Dad. We don't need some liberal telling us the skies are going to open, the birds will start singing and everything will be okay. Cause that shit doesn't cut it. We need a mother and father figure for this country. McCain and Palin play those roles beautifly. IF your to dumb to see the methaphors I'm using here and think this is corny don't waste your time responding. Change is about understanding, love and vision. Obama doesn't even understand the meaning of vision and the only thing he loves is himself.
And that's coming from a guy folks
Re: Harvard Grad – WOOT WOOT! Preach it brother (sister?). How excited was I when he chose her?! I'm sure it's probably already been pointed out, but she's "every woman" and I have to disagree with people saying she's there to get "Hillary's vote". If you only supported Hillary because she was female, maybe there'd be a rationale there, but that's demeaning and disrespectful to both of them and the rest of us women as well. She's relatable and human, but powerful, convicted, and able. A lethal combination:)
Thank you all for your well wishes! It takes all of us to make this nation great, so whatever you all do, thank you for it, and my hope for you is that you will be happy and blessed. what more can we ask?
OBAMA MADE A JOKE TODAY CALLING PALIN A PIG…."A PIG WITH LIPSTICK, STILL A PIG".- NICE WORDS FROM A MAN WHO WANT TO BE PRESIDENT OF THIS GREAT COUNTRY. HEY, OBAMA, WE UNDERSTAND MUZLIMS THINK WOMEN ARE PIGS, YOU EVEN KILL THEM, THAT IS THE REAL REASON YOU DID NOT CHOSE HILLARY.- SOME OF US KNOW THAT. YOUR ASSOCIATIONS WITH TERRORISTS, AMERICANS HATERS AND MARXISTS WILL STOP AMERICANS ON NOV 4. THEY WILL NOT VOTE FOR YOU.
AND YOU ARE IN AMERICA ASSHOLE, SO RESPECT WOMEN!!!!
Re: jenb2003 – Brother
Obama should have several distinct advantages here. First, his proposed tax cuts, unlike McCain's (which chiefly renew Bush's giveaway to the wealthiest Americans), are directed heavily toward working- and middle-class Americans, including most of the white women who are flirting with the Republicans. And while McCain attacks Obama's proposed tax hikes on the rich as job-killers, Obama's increases are modeled closely on those that Bill Clinton signed into law in 1993. Republicans made the same argument then: that Clinton's tax hikes would cost jobs. Problem is, the U.S. economy grew by 22 million jobs during Clinton's presidency. It has grown by just 5 million during Bush's presidency, and that number is falling every month as the slowdown deepens.
COCACOLA[/re] Hmmmm….Quote from John McCain re Hillary Clinton
"I think they put some lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig," McCain said of the plan last October as Clinton was running for the Democratic nomination.
272 was a quote from the Washington Post in case you want to read the whole article.
Re: DLR –
WOW!! in 2008, I'm sorry, are you sure you don't have an Alaskan Republican running your country up there?
ahaha. told you.
and LordKain, please do us a favor and move. we don't give a flying fuck.
McCain/Palin '08
Re: lexington_I'll be moving to Australia if McCain wins. No joke. –
Why I'm voting Democrat #264:
I'm voting Democrat because I like the ideas they have over in France, but I don't feel like moving there. I'll threaten to move, but I really won't. After all, I have a good job, healthcare, lower taxes, free speech and a social framework that promotes family structure. And all of it is defended by the most effective fighting force on the planet.
.
Just substitute France for the country of your choice.
Re: jenb2003 – Shout out to my fellow military spouse! Well, actually, I'm a former military spouse. My husband was medically discharged last year.
Anyway, I just wanted to offer a counter to your opinion. Whil I obviously support out great troops, I have a hard time with the mission in Iraq. IMO, the war was based on lies. Bush lied to congress, he lied to us, and he lied to the rest of the world. The truth is, Iraq will never be a democracy. They don't want it. It's an Islamic state whether we like it or not. We went into a sovereign state illegally. Of course it's a good thing Saddam is gone but who are we to go in take him out? With that philosophy, we should go into Cuba, Iran, North Korea, China, and every other dictatorship. We are NOT the world police. Iraq is a lost cause. I think we want oil. And Iraq has a ton of it. Cheney send in Haliburton to see to that.
We now have created a a more pissed off middle east and have created more hatred. And that's the scary part for me. We need to stop thinking we can go into whatever country we want and create "democracy". Itsimply cannot be done and we will pay the price.
Ok, I'm done babbling. Just wanted throw my 2 cents in.
Bless you and your family!
Re: jenb2003 – By the way, I think it's important to question our Commander in Chief. We all need to open our minds, question what is delivered as fact, and to remember we are not sheeple. I support our troops, I just question the man who sent them into battle. We're in for a rude aweking in Iraq and Afghanistan. We cannot force our western style democracy on other nations. The taliban has never been defeated and they probably won't be. Just ask the Russians.
So, I question our President because what he has done makes no sense to me. I will always support our troops though. They have a special place in my heart for them!
Re: Bronte34 –
Bronte, did you even graduate high school? Indeed, reading comprehension is difficult, especially when you are stupid.
Here's what you said:
"Oh yeah, being a professor of constitutional law and head of the Harvard Law Review = just a journalism major? I guess we can thank community colleges for your stunningly inept post."
Here's what I said in the part of my post you are referring to:
"Just because some idiot who went to journalism school because they weren't qualified to do anything else, and who has a penchant for propaganda, tells you something over and over (like Obama is the second coming of Christ) doesn't mean it's true."
Only a moron can understand that to mean I am saying Obama went to J-school and is telling you over and over he's the second coming of Christ.
For people with IQ's hovering around 100 and above, it clearly means that just because idiots who went to journalism school say Obama is the second coming of Christ, doesn't mean it's true.
And since you need a little hand holding here Bronte34, people who go to journalism school are called journalists.
Get it? Just because journalists try to convince you Obama is the second coming of Christ, doesn't mean he is.
There you have it; you are not only a stunningly inept reader, but a woeful put-down artist as well. The phrase "useful idiot" comes to mind.
Re: jenb2003 – Sorry about all the typo's
Palin's a creationalist, anti-gay, anti-choice, the woman hunts and owns GUNS (little hypocritical, shooting these lovely animals and being anti abortion), plus she is terribly underexperienced. Oh my god, do you Americans really aspire to go back to Medieval times? You're supposes to go FORWARD, not BACKWARDS. This just underlines the general idea the world already has of you. Does it really take a disaster to make you realise something is wrong and something needs to be done? You are just letting your country slide even more down and you just wait until it hits rock bottom before realising you should have done someting. HOW ABOUT DOING IT NOW, NOW THAT YOU HAVE THE CHANCE! I'm just saying this because I care.
Re: Tom_violence – #282 - No one is saying "we should go back to Medieval times" - there are lots of people who believe the founding fathers of our great nation had it right - the right to bear arms especially. So just because we are living in a different time, are we not to respect this and what it meant to the men who fought to build our nation and frame our Constitution? Are we to change our principals every time we go into a new century? Back in the day, women couldn't run right out and get an abortion. Back in the day, both men and women hunted to put food on the table for the family. "FORWARD, not BACKWARDS" - I don't see how hunting is moving backwards, people in America still do that. Giving women a right to "choose" is moving forward. Hmmmm, sounds awfully jaded to me - killing animals = wrong, killing unborn babies for convenience = bad. THATS the backwards ass shizz. And let me remind you, Obama has zero executive experience.
Re: Melissa is always right – #283 - Ooops in my hasty reply, and after re-reading it, I realized I made a mistake in it, it should "read killing animals = wrong, killing unborn babies for convenience = acceptable." That makes a bit more sense. My personal though is killing unborn babies is bad.
-
-
"pig with lipstick"
-
-
most people will just see this quote and not look at the context, mucho resentment coming (even in context it was still a veiled reference to palin)
-
-
obama just lost himself 5 percent more with that. uh oh
-
Re: Melissa is always right – Hey Melissa. How's going? I read through all the posts this morning(i'm 6 hours ahead of you guys), and apparently I missed out on some good debating!
And what is it with people going after Palin because she hunts? I'm not partial to her but why is hunting a big issue? Dick Cheney hunts too. And he shot his friend while doing it! Haha, funny.
I used to live in western Md and everybody hunted. I lived close to people who would hunt for their food. It wasn't for "pleasure" as some people call it. They were poor and hunting season always stocked their freezer. Geeze, people are grasping at straws. It drives me crazy….;)
Re: secondcoming – Yeah, that wasn't a smart move. I wonder how he's going to get out of this one?
NNNNNOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! McCain is not the answer!!!!
Re: sweetpiece – In the primaries, mcain was running against republicans…not hilary. His use of the lipstick/pig line was used inre policy and in no way could be construed as a personal insult to his male opponents.
Re: LordKain – Don't let the door hit you in the ass. Please take Scarlett Johansen, Barbara Striesand, Diddy (or whatever he goes by this week), Oprah, George Clooney and the rest of the liberal asses with you.
Re: sweetpiece – FACT: Clintons presidency had a 5% unemployment rate.
my bad……….just heard mcain's lipstick quote, and it was in response to a reporter's question on Hillary's healthcare policy. That being said, he was referring to the plan, and the comment was off the cuff. I really could care less if Obama was being sexist. The fact that it is so obviously an orchestrated plan of attack by a bewildered campaign, and how poorly it was executed is what bothers me. Shows me how he performs/cracks under pressure……..the man is not a leader.
Say it with me now dumb idiots. OBAMA is a B-A-P-T-I-S-T. It's the stupid Mcain camp creating rumors becuase they know the trailor trash in the south are racist and will buy into that "terrorist" crap. And it's pretty clever because he knows he can capture the jews with that line of crap too. Like Joe Lieberman who would rather see a couple of fascists in the white house than an ivy league black man because of his freakin name. Also check your facts on these RIDICULOUS rumors on FACTORFICTION.COM to debunk the stupid chain emails and smear tactics that are put out there. OBAMA is a breath of fresh air and if you think for a minute he would be soft on terrorism your wrong DEAD WRONG.
Re: jenb2003 – hahah well I think I will be moving to that deserted island if Obama wins just to get away from the terrorists that will be swarming in the U.S…next thing you know there won't only be sancuatary cities for illegal aliens but TERRORISTS also. Wonder if Obama will even fund their training camps??
LordKain: PLEASE move to Canada. I'm begging you. You and your ilk never make good on your promises. So move already, because I think they're going to win.
Actually, as of this morning, the most recent from CNN and Newday (which is from Sunday night -that is the "newest poll") has McCain had 50 percent and Obama 46 percent - with a 3 percent error margin.
-
However, the polls go up and down all the time — were it Obama in the lead, still would not matter much to me — they only polled 900+ people, and to me, that's not a good representation — for either candidate.
-
I'm not saying McCain is not ahead - he very well could be — I'm just saying when the numbers are 4 points different, with a 3 point error ratio, it just doesn't mean much. Didn't mean a heck of a lot when Obama was ahead by a bit, either.
And Perez sweetie - mcCain has not "gained" six points over Obama - he was below Obama before - he did gain six points, but that does not make him 6 above Obama.
-
-Seriously, either of them being in a slight lead just doesn't mean a whole lot.
America is full of too many racists and bible-thumpers to do what's actually the best thing for their country. i'm glad i'm canadian.
