Re: Minx – Plus she kind of put herself out there with that silly pitbull/lipstick/hockey-mom remark - you can't pander to everyone and not get side-swiped by someone.
What are all of these conservative assholes DOING on a PINK themed site, that is CLEARLY gay friendly–run by an Obama supporter? I'm surprised. He wasn't even TALKING about that silly bitch.
B Hussein stepped in pig squat by calling the girl a name. He's riled-up both all women…well maybe not the wild-eyed tin-foil hatted liberals, but a lot of women are pissed. SEXISM is alive and WELL in the Democratic party.
Re: Blackacid Betty – So…droll.
Re: secondcoming –
Take it how you want it. It's up to you to be familiar w/ political jargon and HILLARY didn't bitch up and cry foul. My opinion.
Re: Melissa is always right – I totally agree. Also, it is funny that liberals would even talk about Jesus, since the separation of church and state is such an issue, lol…This election just keeps getting more entertaining.
Re: Armychick – Sweetheart, you're kinda playing into the stereotype some folks have SP4's and PFC's have low double-digit IQs and are basically replaceable canon-fodder. First racist comments, now homophobic ones…was Basic and AIT held in your trailerpark? The Army's getting desperate for recruits, for sure….
Re: madnifque – I'm sorry. Did I miss something?Where in that entire mess of mumbo jumbo did Barack address the issues? All he kept going on about was I'm tired of the republicans distracting voters with this mud slinging. He just rephrased it 10 times and said that you as the american people deserve to hear about the "issues" which once again, he NEVER addressed. He may have mentioned what those issues were but never actually GOT INTO THEM. Just you should care about this or that but never elaborated. The same pizaz that all of his speeches are-THIS IS WHAT YOU GUYS CARE ABOUT…right?? and what? so um now what? He needs to quit acting so innocent when the democrats have been on a field frenzy trying to tear sarah's image up the past week.
Actually, that shade rather suits him….
And speaking of Jesus being a "community organizer" according to those saying it, does Obama believe himself to be on the same level? Now that is HILLARIOUS!
Re: Roseygirl – What does your comment have to do with me? I said nothing of what Obama said and how he intended/didn't intend it to come across. I'm just pissed off at the defacing of the picture. I don't need any political lessons.
Re: secondcoming –
Take it how you want it. It's up to you to be familiar w/ political jargon and HILLARY didn't bitch up and cry foul. My opinion….
Re: Blackacid Betty – That was proven WRONG on CNN last night, when their fact-checkers found that spending for special needs children actually TRIPLED under Palin, CHECK YOUR FACTS, IDIOT!
Is he wrong? Is the GOP distracting from the real issues? I never see anything on the news about McCains energy plan, McCains economy plan, etc. You only see GOP gossip/drama about the Dems!
Oops…I forgot
OBAMA/BIDEN 08!!!
Re: Minx –
I know many vets (including two of my uncles who served in Vietnam), that are voting McCain. I think it is time that people really RESEARCH the issues on both parties. Voting 130 times as Present doesn't count as experience.
Re: Penelope Palin – ACTUALLY, he has two sons that are active Military…one just got back from his first tour in Iraq. AND he has a third son that is in the Naval Academy. So yes he DOES have sons following in his footsteps. Just as he followed in his father's and his grandfather's footsteps. Just because his time in the military was 30 years ago doesn't mean he doesn't still deserve respect for it. Do Veterans mean nothing to you?
Re: Nonbreeder –
Newsflash: Plenty of conservatives are gay friendly. Until America has a multi-party system there will be extreme views on both sides.
Stop shilling for the Kos! You know that he meant that- it was obvious because the audience laughed immediately. Of course, lipstick on a pig was probably a reference to YOU and your feelings got hurt. Matt Damon is now the village idiot- no WONDER he married that homely, subservient woman. He wouldn't have been happy with some uppity woman like Palin who was governor and wouldn't like to wash his underwear and kiss his ass. How's THAT feeling, Damon?
Re: KitKat1 –
Post 107
just for the record I am an Independent. As for liberals talking about Jesus, I recall Palin making the comment that Obama is supposedly a messiah? You know.. after he's done healing the wrld and partingthe waves… any of this allusion ring a bell? Repubs dish it out too. The man is being derided for pointing out what we the people have always said… Our government is ass backward and effed up.
The best part of all this - It's another day wasted for Obama. The news will be centered on this and Obama loses precious time to get his message out. McCain is controlling the media while Obama can do nothing but play along. Obama's problem? He's never had to face a REAL republican in an election. His US Senate race was against Alan Keyes after a Chicago paper took down the previous GOP nominee by getting a court to unseal unseemly divorce papers. This is Obama's first real challenge in any of his contests dating back to his first. McCain is playing him for the novice he really is.
Re: SWEETAZHONAAY – #109 - Barry's more worried about Sean Hannity than John McCain! I'm so sick of him crying "they're picking on me" meanwhile, what in the hell does he think all his cronies are doing to Governor Palin. The blatant hypocrisy is appalling! I agree with you, where is he talking about the issues???????
Re: Penelope Palin "Re: Armychick – Sweetheart, you're kinda playing into the stereotype some folks have SP4's and PFC's have low double-digit IQs and are basically replaceable canon-fodder. First racist comments, now homophobic ones…was Basic and AIT held in your trailerpark? The Army's getting desperate for recruits, for sure…" –
^^ This psuedo-intellectual elitist attitude is the real reason the Obama campaign is going down in flames. "Regular" Americans are aware of what you and your ilk, including Obama, think of them and they will speak and be heard at the polls.
McCain/Palin '08!
The real face came off now !
Re: KitKat1 – #111 - don't forget….He's the Messiah!!!! He probably thought that one up all by himself.
Re: SWEETAZHONAAY – I agree. I have heard him say, how we all need to talk about the issues, lol… I guess we should all just wait for the debates! I can't wait!
Re: Minx – wonder what the obama camp would say if mccain said "monkey see monkey do" about obama jumping on the lipstick bandwagon… maybe " no problem, just jargon"?
uh huh
Re: lefty lady – If you don't see it you aren't looking! Obama is being too defensive. It's his achilles heel. He feels he has to keep defending. Most of his policies are impossible- and he keeps BACKING off- it makes him look unsure of himself. Frankly, i don't think he wants to be president. It was HIS election to lose- the dems could have run Hillary and won handily. But they picked someone who can't defend their voting record, or their resume. HE is making a HUGE mistake allowing all these Palin attacks to continue. The latest being some nitwit who is the head of the SC dems saying Palin's only qualification is that she "hasn't had an abortion". Now why the HELL would she say that? It starts the BS all over again! GET YOUR PARTY BACK FROM THE LIBERALS and you will start winning.
Used to like Obama, but the more he talks, the less I like him. He now seems like he is doing stand up comedy-why not let the topic die? He should have never used that lipstick phrase. I don't know if there was a dig at Palin in there, but, I understand why some are taking it like that. What if he is president and he uses some 'midwest' phrase that is insulting to say, Iran, North Korea?
Re: Cherry Bomb – #129 - I agree. My 12 year old son even picked up on it! Last night I was watching the O'Reilly interview. He said, "how come Barack Obama's hair is getting all gray" then he said, "how come he keeps stuttering and saying uhhhhh?".
Re: Minx – Those facts are wrong and your stats are wrong. You shouldn't make up numbers. Post the actual website you get your numbers from when you say look it up. They are liberal sites that don't want McCain elected. At least McCain has some idea of what the military actually DOES. Obama now says he thought about joining the military> Oh sure.
Re: KitKat1 –
I don't recall putting all blame on republicans for the circus and namecalling going on around here. I do however; Strongly blame repubs for this particular issue b/c McCain knows good and well THAT statement is Political Jargon, he uses it and once again wants to twist it. As for your statement on Hillary, everyone knows McCain did NOT choose the most qualified person in the RNC as he said he wud. Compared to Hillary that woman is a cherry so yes Palin and Hillary will always be compared b/c she is riding on Hillary's 18 million cracks which she addressed in her speech and also had the audacity to call up Hillary upon accepting the nomination. To me, she is a coat tail rider period.
Re: Penelope Palin –
Well like I said so am I. I am also hispanic but born and raised here and I am proud of my country and to those who serve it.
Re: Minx – I am an Independent as well. I vote for the character of the person rather than the party. I have the God-given right to vote my conscience, and I intend to do just that. Like I said, people need to read some books and stop relying on these biased news outlets.
Re: kmp – veterans mean VERY much to me, KPM…and I respect McCain's loyalty to his troops and country. Thanks for the update on his kids, I didn't know that, actually. However, he's not bucking for a star or to head the VA. To think his military record, fine as it was, suffices to address THIS war - not to mention many (civilian) socio-economic issues is naive. Sweetie, he's been amply compensated for his war wounds…unlike so many homeless Vietnam vets that have died on the streets since then and are still neglected…
Re: Cherry Bomb – Wow… that us amazing. "She hasen't had an abortion." Everyone has gone mad! Maybe if people in this country would actually use PROTECTION when having sex, abortion wouldn't be as necessary. Or STDs for that matter!
SUCH A GOOD RETORT! This kind of level-headed approach is what we need from a leader! I am voting for Barack!
Re: Penelope Palin –
Hahaha trailer park, ok there missy you must be thinking im might just because of what I say. And I am not a homopho, get it right. That's ok you have the right to say whatever you want, liek i said this is why WE fight to keep this country free
Free for you to open your hole and spit out nothing but cagada….
Re: KitKat1 –
Post 117 Nice try, doesn't DEBUNK FACTS. The man votes against vets period.Re: KitKat1 – Post 128
You would have a point IF "monkey see monkey do" WAS POLITICAL JARGON. It isn't "lipstick on a pig" However, IS. If McCain had said again in the same context as Obama NOBODY would be b*tching right now.
Obama changes his strategy from week to week. Last week he said he has no silver bullet to use against the Palin. Instead, he has decided to largely avoid directly engaging her and will instead keep his focus largely on John McCain.
-
Now, Obama has singled Palin out for criticism on earmarks in general and the "Bridge To Nowhere" in particular. This is peculiar. Typically, a presidential nominee does not criticize his opponent's veep. This becomes doubly peculiar given his position last week.
-
The reason for the change must be what the ABC News/Washington Post poll found - a huge swing toward McCain-Palin among white women. The poll has McCain up 12 among white women.
-
What to do? What to do?
Perez, Perez, obviously you aren't a rocket scientist…keep printing that pig nose on McCain/Palin and soon, more votes will be heading their way. Keep outta politics! You're clueless! Obama knew *exactly* what he was doing:(
Re: —-Beam–Me–Up–Snottie—- –
That stinks, but it seems so true. It's like the Republicans are just riding the dumb wave. It worked for Bush…twice…I pray to God it doesn't happen again.
Re: Smirks – Oh shut the fuck up LOL - I'm on Ft Hood, asshole, how many deployments do YOU have under your belt! Complimentary lobotomys don't necessarily come with BDUs.
Re: Cherry Bomb – Post 132
I DO NOT MAKE UP NUMBERS I ALWAYS tell PEOPLE GOOGLE IT YOURSELF. AS FOR WEBSITES I always post when Perez Lets me and lastly
McCain votes against vets are on the SENATE website so People that want to CONTEST THAT FACT GO GOOGLE IT RIGHT NOW.
Also do the SAME ON OBAMA and Soldiers 6-1. Have a nice day.
I do not need to LIE thank you very much.
Re: honey97431 –
he was NOT referring to palin - you're seriously a moron if you think that. people use cliche's all of the time and this was just another example. why wouldn't he be referring to palin as a FISH based on obama's other cliche. you're such a doofus it's ridiculous.
First class humor, Perez. Love it.
Re: Armychick – Darling, I'm in the trenches with you - but don't believe the ALL of the hype…and Army of One or Army Strong doesn't mean we have to all think…or vote…alike. Anyway, stay safe!
Re: Minx –
I didn't write the monkey see monkey do comment? What are YOU talking about?
I think that the comment was totally rude. I listened to his explaination and I thought he comes off looking really stupid. No reason to include something about lipstick (to me a clear dig at any female) on a pig. I think he should have just said the fish comment. I mean come on she said about a week ago that she is like a PITBULL WITH LIPSTICK. So he just happened to come up with a lipstick joke but, it had nothing to do with Mrs. Palin? He must think we are idiots. untill about 2 weeks ago I was supportting Obama, but now I am not so sure. Is it just me or has Obama stopped appealing to all americans. Everytime he speaks lately I have noticed a definate change in his style of speaking. He is speaking in a way that I have only seen with the hip hop generation. It does not sit well with me. If you talk like a child/young adult it is hard to see you as a leader!
Re: SquirrelLives –
big freakin' deal! he's being strategic to win the election. if mccain/palin would focus on the actual issues (which they won't bcs their party has put this country in the shitter and they know it) then obama wouldn't have to respond to petty accusations like this. think for yourself person!
Re: Minx – Make sure you are addressing the right comments. As you can see, I didn't make that statement #128 is not mine!
Also, Obama admitting that the surge in Iraq has worked, yet he voted against it, and will not admit he was wrong.
Also, it is government spending that is out of control. Raising taxes won't help, it is cutting government taxes that will.
Re: secondcoming – I agree. Of course he was refering to Palin! Is he going to admit that, no. Is he going to hide behind the "It is a well known saying, even McCain said it" excuse? Yes. The fact of the matter is that Palin very recently made the pittbull/lipstick comment, and that comment got a tremendous amount of coverage from the media and talking heads and was played over and over again in the media. And he turns right around and makes a comment about lipstick and pigs. Of course people will tie the two together. He know exactly how his comment would be precieved. And you could tell he was real nervous about saying it by the way he started stammering around and wiping his head right before the words came out. Completely obvious.
Re: Minx – Also, the Democrats didn't do right by Hillary. They shouldn't even speak of Hillary. To call Palin a coat-tail rider is not necessary. Why mention Hillary when they were so against her! It is all about Obama, not America. Sad. This is more of a popularity contest than an election, and that is a FACT.
Whether you like Obama or hate him, his point is right on and is beuatifully stated… and Mccain's handlers would do weel to take note.
The repubs were so eager to find something to jump on, since Hillary didn't take the palin bait, that they made themselves look like hissy girly men.
Re: KitKat1 –
I am terribly sorry KitKat1 My cut and paste didn't apply to 128 as it should have hilited. I know you are not that ignoant as to post the Monkey comparison. Once again sorry for the confusion. I keep promising to slow down on typing and never do. I have no qualms admitting when I am wrong and I meant to include post 128 from (jermaninesomething whatever) in order to shorten the number of posts I put. Once again sorry for the confusion.
Re: hilarychill – Post 151
That's the beauty of it. Obama wastes another day responding to crap like this. Another day lost when the clock it ticking louder than ever. Obama isn't used to running against a REAL candidate especially a tough republican in a national election. Obama's opponents to date have been lesser democrats (Hillary is the exception) and very weak republicans. This is his first real challenge - ever. He's getting schooled by McCain. Obama can only play along.
Re: KitKat1 – You wrote "Also, the Democrats didn't do right by Hillary. They shouldn't even speak of Hillary. "
While I agree that the media and the political machine both republicrats and democans did not treat Hillary fairly, what you wrote is just plain silly. She IS a democan ans she happens to be campaigning for Obama.
He needs to quit commenting on everything he says that the McCain campaign does like… McCain's campaign has learned you don't need to address every comment and that is about the only good thing I can say about him but this is what will hurt Obama. There was no need to address this the people who are voting got it, the McCain's are trying to avoid talking about real issues as long as possible and with Obama answering back every time he prolongs them getting to avoid it.
Re: Genghis Khan – THANK YOU, it's soooo obviously been scripted, not off the cuff…he couldn't even say it right, blame his operatives if you want…..bottom line: STUPID POLITICS, and ill-timed. McCain is surging in almost all catagories in the polls, and in the one that matters most: Independants favor McCain by 11 points…even Bush didn't get that…and he WON! Sorry Obamationites…your candidate is like the Hindenburg, "burning, and crashing to the ground….oh the humanity…." LOL
I
SHOCKER!! OBAMA MANAGES TO VICIOUSLY INSULT PALIN, THEN PORTRAY HIMSELF AS THE VICTIM!
.
I REMEMBER THE LAST TIME WE HAD A 'VAST RIGHT WING CONSPIRACY'?!?
Re: KitKat1 –
Post 154
Yeah Hillary got a raw deal BUT YES she is a Dem Campaigning with Obama b/c they vote 95% the same way as he does. Hillary got a raw deal to some degree with the media but she held her own and Palin is a coat tail rider whether you agree with me or not. The very FACT she referenced Hillary's 18 million cracks and the FACT she contacted Hillary upon accepting her nod PLUS everyone acknowledging the role of Palin (swing Hillary voters) makes Palin a coat tail rider.
Re: seamus – Of course Hillary is campaigning for Obama. Does she have a choice? It is not silly. You can't have it both ways. If people really feel Obama was the best choice for the Dems, then why include Hillary at all? Obama knows everything, right? He can do anything, right? Why have a woman campaign for him, right?
Re: Minx – Thanks! It's fine. I was just shocked a bit as I read that comment! I would never reduce anyone to a mere pig or monkey, no matter what. In fact, it would bode well for all politicians to speak plain english and say what the mean rather than relying on metaphors and the like, especially in this election.
Obama is like a led zeppelin!! LOL!!
Re: kendoll3000 – Post 160
You're killing me dude - love you long time
Re: KitKat1 –
Post 135
Wrapping up my PhD in political science as we speak. So yes, I agree people should familiarize themselves with political science reading. Start withevery politicians Bible, The Prince by Nicolol Machiavelli and follow up with Steven Hooks, US Foreign Policy I'm teaching that to my incoming Freshman class right now.
My, my, my is not this the pot calling the kettle black my dear little Perez??? Possibly one should put his lipstick where his mouth is…ooops!! Can't show pictures of where your mouth has been, now can we Darling? Truly mi amigo cubano, pick on something your own size, like Kirstie Alley perhaps? Enough of your bashing banter or we'll drop a house on you! Maybe an apartment building would provide more coverage. Shoo now!
Re: Minx – I have a BA in Poli Sci and am in my last year of Law School. Therefore, of course I encourage people to read. There are serious issues in our society and one of them is the danger inherent in relying on the mainstream media for information. As far as Palin being a coat-tail rider, the issue can be argued both ways. Any woman from now on can be accused of being a coat - tail rider, does that mean no woman should ever run for office? Of course not! Every woman should give Hill props for going as far she did. Palin may disagree with Hillary on her politics, but is she not still a WOMAN at the end of the day? A woman fighting in a MAN'S world? Yes, she is.
Thanks Perez for the political posts…I know some people are giving you flack for doing it but keep up the good work. I know mos people are drones who are afraid to think, but I am glad you are not afraid to post what you see.
Does anyone realize that McCain used the very same phrase "pig in lipstick" to describe Hilary Clinton's health care plan a last year? For all those of you screaming that McCain respects vets, does he really???? His daughter is quoted yesterday as saying, "No one knows what war is like other then my family- period." I think the thousands of vets wounded and killed would not appreciate that.
Recruiting Palin was a rash move intended to appeal to the non thinkers, and it's working. He and Palin are campaigning on lies and half truths, and do not have a set plan for helping America through the servere financial crisis we are in. Hoping we'll win the (10 billion dollar a month) war and repeating Bush's mistakes while promising a change is not enough.
Also, I know everyone has different opinions here, but here's a novel idea, why not keep it a bit more classy? If you are a Republican, that's fine, but why not send an educated comment and not the racist bile I've been seeing posted? I know there are some smart Republicans out there…it would be great to hear your voice too.
re: armychick - I have relatives serving in Iraq, so you need to take that rifle out of your a** and stop making our troops look as if their uptight snobs, who don't respect a person's freedom of speech. We all have our own opinions and luckily are free to express them, which is what Perez does every single day on this site that you obviously read, because your taking time off of your precious schedule to comment. SO IF YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT'S BEING SAID, THEN SKIP IT AND DON'T READ IT. This is the great thing about our country and exactly what you're fighting for, so stop disrespecting people for speaking their minds and using your service to this country as an excuse to justify it.
Re: KitKat1 –
.
You Picked an EXCELLENT major!
I think everyone should atleast takeONE political Science course.
Re: kendoll3000 – mondale surged after his convention to…what a great president he made. so…it's not over til election day…cool your jets.
Personally, I like the stinking old fish part — HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
fuck palin bich ass she's the one who called her self a pit bull and mccain used the same phase when refurring to a bill the gop are so overdoing this and it's going to back fire showing how seedy repubicans really are
Either way you look at it, Obama made a mistake with that line. If it was directed towards Sarah Palin, that was a idiotic statement. If he meant it wasn't meant for her, then it was poor judgement knowing that it could be miscostrued as an attack on a woman who less than a week ago made a very well know joke about her use of lipstick. Dumb choice of words on Obama's part.
Obama can talk about pigs all he wants, but he can never taste one like us non-muslims.
Re: Schratboy –
Exscuse me? Is that English and what's your point?
Thank you Perez…. good move.
Let's hope Obama keeps hitting back hard on their manipulative twisted distorted LIES.
It's funny - If this isn't such a big deal, why is Chris Matthews spending the first half of his show today twisting himself into a knot trying to explain it. Obama has a tendency to say things he later regrets.
-
It's also funny how he's talking about McCain's "phony rage" when he used it repeatedly against Hillary claiming Bill used the race card with the Jesse Jackson comment. He also had the phony outrage with regard to Bill's ‘fairy tale’ comment when talking about Iraq. What goes around………..
Re: Penelope Palin – See that's exactly the problem. Talking shit when you don't know the truth. That's the problem with everybody in here, everybody in the media and everybody associated with either campaign. That's why I don't go around making claims….claims that are starting to backfire for the Democrats…and some claims that are backfiring for the Republicans as well.
If I were in this war, I would rather be lead by a man that knew something about the military. A man that experienced war. So as you're wondering what that has to do with this war….isn't the answer obvious? Who better to understand what these men and women are going through whether they wanted to be there or not? And its not about compensation. Nobody says he should be President because he was POW and is a Veteran. Yes many Veterans are screwed. We all have family members, friends, boyfriends that are Veterans. Many people screwed those Veterans as they came home from fighting that war. We all know this. And its wrong….which was EXACTLY my point about defacing his picture.
there were a million sayings Obama could have said to get his point across without using the word "Lipstick" and on a pig…come on, he knew what he was doing - I sure his speech writers knew what they were doing too…sooo sad - Well I guess it's backfired on him - just pissing more people off I think…I am one democrat who will probably vote republican for the first time in her life..
Re: kmp – Kmp, did you read my post? or pick out words that fit your agenda? He's got war cred, but the man has no blue-collar cred. America does not consist solely of soldiers, vets and military wives. You can't bank your whole campaign on your war medals…lest every leg-less, homeless vet out there could (and probably should) run for office as well!
Re: LisaB – and Dukakis had a 24 point lead in 1988…until the tank incident, I'm just saying such an ill-timed comment is truly poor judgement and with 6 weeks to go, ity's awfully hard to reverse the trend, with HUGE GAINS in almost every demographic that matters, at the perfect time. I can't wait for the debates, McCain/Palin are much too smart to pull major gaffs. Obama has a canoe up the river and McCain has a Swift Boat….LOL
McSame more of the same: From the Washington Post
Government officials in charge of collecting billions of dollars worth of royalties from oil and gas companies accepted lavish gifts, steered contracts to favored firms and engaged in illicit sex with employees of the energy companies, federal investigators reported today.
Yep!
and how about the latest figures that Obama raised over 50 million in June and July, but a paltry 17 million in August….what happened? The train rain out of coal, and can't make it to the station…LOL
Re: Cherry Bomb – Like Bushy knew anything? Give me a fucking break lady! You don't need to go to liberal sites to find Obama's health, and economic plans. Lift your lazy fingers out of your twat and find it yourself!
And while you are looking, read up on the stats of Army suicides and ask yourself, WHY!
Re: KitKat1 –
Post 170
If Palin did as Hillary did and campaigned under her own steam then NO she would not be a coat tail rider. In this instance she IS her acceptane speech says so and everyone who held McCain to his "most qualified" stance knows this was a STRATEGIC move to get those 18 million Hillary voters point blank. When a woman does what Hillary does on her own merits and I agree with her stance then yes, I will defend her. SOme argue that Hillary was riding on the coat tails of her husband. So pick the poison you want to b@tch a/b either way Sorry, Pain is a coat tail rider period.
Re: kendoll3000 – Post 188
That's not entirely correct. He hasn't released his August figures yet. The $17 million is what he started the month of August with. He ran a deficit campaign in July. Also, some in his camp are getting nervous about meeting their fund raising goals going forward. By not taking public money (like he said he would) he has put himself in a situation where he has to fund raise and campaign at the same time. Things are getting tougher each day for Obama.
Re: Minx – Post190
I disagree. I think Palin was to shore up the base leaving him free to run against his own party. Any Hillary votes he gets are icing on the cake. As a Republican I can genuinely say I was less than excited about his chances before theselection. Picking Palin has energized and satisfied his base and opened up the campaign to those highly sought after Independents and yes - female voters, some of which will be Hillary supporters. It was a bold move and is paying off in spades.
Re: AnnetteLaz – As I stated before, this whole thing has been staged from the beginning when she called herself a lipsticked pitbull.
McCain had already recorded he faux anger before the story even made the news.
Why don't you respond to McCain referring to Hillary in the same way? No, because you are a PUBE posing as a former Democrat. Wake up! Sure the best thing Palin had going for her is she is a woman. But her ideology and political philosophy are so perverse, there is no way even a former Democrat would vote for her! I say, LIAR!
Barak should know ALL about lipstick wearing pigs… he's MARRIED to one.
He's talking about the same old asshole calling the same old shit by another name. Carl Rove is the architect of this BS outrage. All idiocy.
Re: SquirrelLives –
Post 190
Squirrel you know I also agreed with that what you stated.
Palin is a two-fold card. She united the republican party as I have said on prior posts but her nomination has divided the nation which I have also stated on other posts. Look at what we have been distracted with these past 12 days?! That's why I haven't repeated half the nonsense you and I have read on here. The media scramble is because she's such an unknown and I have also stated numerous times I think she may rely too much on her faith when making decisions. As I said she is too far right for my moderate tastes and too polarizing for a very colorful, diverse America. Again, my opinion.Lastly, the pick of Palin was indeed strategic move to get those disgruntled Hillary voters. I believe Skittles who's MIA and I have both managed to agree on that very point. Feel free to disagree. Gonna go watch America's Next top Model. Take care, I'll follow up tomorrow!
Mc Pain is capitalizing on his captivity. He is not the only service member who was a POW or who was in captivity. There are many still living who went through the same treatment/torture. I know them. They are men who sighed up for what they were doing. He is not the second coming.
The phony outrage by people is B.S. This has nothing to do with policies or the campaign. This is diversionary shit. Mc Pain doesn't have anything to offer so they want to jump on non-issues and blow them up to take the heat off of them.
Actually, Perez, you direspected the wrong person with this abominable defaced picture. Obama made a reference to an OLD fish in a paper (THAT would be the jibe at McCain) and a pig in lipstick (aimed at Palin, obviously, since she JUST made a reference to lipstick herself, how can you not make the connection?) But really, this picture is a new low, even for you. Wether you like him or agree with him, he has served this country faithfully longer than you've been alive, he's laid his life on the line, literally, for us all. Have some respect. This picture makes me sick and angry and more determined than ever to help John McCain become the next president of the USA.
Re: Minx – Post 196
My point was that it wasn't the sole purpose. You are correct, it is two-fold. As a person of faith, I like that in her. It's also part of the reason I am so turned off by Democrats and their perceived lack of faith and secular message. The political correctness is just too cumbersome for me. They seem completely inflexible.
Re: J-Love – yes, mccain did you that expression, but he used it in reference to a policy of hillary's. obama very clearly made a reference to john mccain the person (his age) and sarah palin the person (her gender). and the worst part is, he's lying about it. he's lying about being ageist and sexist. if he had only said, hey it was a joke, probably shouldn't have said it, but didn't really mean anything personal, then he'd have come out ok on this. but he's a lying jerk who thinks his own sh*t don't stink and that he shouldn't be held to the same standards as mccain and palin (even though he said he was going to run a "clean" campagin, is this really the dem's idea of "clean"???).
mc cain could have done this on purpose and then accuse the democrat camp for the shit! yes it can be that low!!!!
