Ye has dropped the studio version of his new song, Love Lockdown, which he debuted at the VMAs.
As we previously reported, Mr. West is releasing an album before the end of the year, in December.
We're not sure if this will be a single or not. It will be interesting to see how radio responds to the song.
It doesn't scream RADIO smash to us.
We like the song, but it's an artists song. A prestige piece. An album cut.
It's a risky move for Kanye to make but definitely ballsy. He has the whole world listening and this is the message he wants to convey.

VMA version was wayyyy better. I loved it and watched the clip on MTV.com like 5 times. the drums need to be way more fierce and his voice less electronic

i think this version is actually a demo too. not the finished work, but close to complete.
I love the song, but as you said. Maybe not as a single, the music is to scaled down for that. And I would love it soo much more if someone who actually had a good voice were singing it. There isnt much new or fresh about it, its just pop and not rap. Its very nice though. And I think this might be a way to introduce some great music in the states that isnt hip-hop or rock.
kanye is one of my fav artist i like the song but i'm tried of hearing rappers do the voice amp thing its dumb.maybe the vma verison was better.i still need to watch the vmas

Re: LizzieHead – Actually, it wasn't. It's a result of manipulating autotune, and it was NEVER used before Cher. It's known as the "Cher effect" in the industry for a reason, you know.

Well, I LOVE Classic Rock and am not a particular Ye fan. I mean if he has a decent song I like, i'll listen AND
to me, this song is really HOT. His voice is not that bad. Yes, I wish he had less of the voice box thing AND got real raw like Trent from 9 inch nails, when the rawness called for it.
But all in all, he's making quality music and pushes the boundaries of Hip Hop in a really good way!
Now his B#$TCH AZZ rants do leave me bored.

isn't this the song he performed at the VWM's? I like it but it lakes a real climax. I keep waiting and the drums get you excited but it just dies back down….. I still love him though
I really like it. It's beter than the garbage music you normally post. The beat and the delivery is different but on point. I also like the integration of the African drums.

i love how its him just singing and not rap. He sounds amazing and he was amazing at vma's. I saw him at the Maroon 5 concert last year as a surprise he showed up and was amazing. He is really talented.
