Boycott Oprah?

A group of Republican women from Florida is boycotting the Oprah Winfrey show.
Their reason?
Because Momma O won't have Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin on her show until after the elections are over.
Well, Oprah is not going to have ANYONE who's running for the White House on her show until the elections are over, including Barack Obama.
Oprah did have Obama on her show twice in the past, though that was before he was running for president.
Maybe if Palin was important enough, she would have been on the show before as well!
The vice president for the group organizing the boycott, Cindry Graves, says that that Palin "is an icon, and set her herself up to be such a women's rights and women's issues person. To have the first vice president of our lifetime on the Republican ticket being a woman and to sit it out regardless of what her personal political beliefs were was disingenuous, we felt."
That reasoning doesn't make any sense.
They're basically saying Palin should deserve special treatment and get on Oprah because she's the first female candidate running for VP in the Republican party.
People can easily argue that Obama should go on the show since he's the first African American candidate to make it this far.
Oprah is just trying to be fair.
In fact, Oprah even said, "I made the decision not to use my show as a platform for any of the candidates. I agree that Sarah Palin would be a fantastic interview, and I would love to have her on after the campaign is over."
We agree with Oprah. If she said no one running in the election will go on her show now, then she shouldn't make an exception for Palin.

I quit watching Oprah a while ago because she just got too Hollywood for me, Eckhart Tolle, her weird accent…the whole THING that she has become is the epitome of a plastic, weird, nobody has the balls to tell the queen she is going off the deep end, hollywood persona.

Ok Perez, this is what I think……..Sarah Palin had 40 million viewers in her first national televised speech…40 million. Since that day, all the media, left and right (if there is such a thing as right media) are talking about her. She has become an icon….and she doesn't need Oprah.-
Oprah is obviously a very egotistic woman. She has to much money, to much power, so she is corrupt. She thinks she is Jesus. Delussional.

FIRST OF ALL: It's Oprah's show….she actually owns the show and the production company…..some housewives may be boycotting the show for stupid reasons, but you know what, i have yet to see a major company or large corporation pull their advertising from her show…..what does that tell you? that you people are freaking out over nada.

She's obviously not the first female governor, and not even the most important one: Ann Richards governed Texas long before. She's not even the first mother to serve in a high office. Hillary actually went to law school, was the first female to be made partner at her law firm, AND raised a daughter. There's absolutely nothing special about Palin at all, so exactly WHY should she ABSOLUTELY be on the show? NADA

I have to agree with Oprah.
I think there is something really obvious going on here that people just ignore because it's convenient. She had Obama on her show back when he wasn't running, but when it was apparent that it could be a possibility. She also openly supports Obama. Why not say she won't have anyone on now? She's already had him and now she can leave it at that until after the elections. If she supports Obama why would she risk having Palin on her show to say something intelligent and possibly gain support? Duh! No one should be boycotting. Oprah should just be a little more honest and say umm guys, I support Obama so that's that. None of this dancing around the issue. Not to mention… the majority of her viewers are conservatives. She'd rather tuck Palin away until later.

But when the woman says she's not going to use her program as a platform, yet openly campaigns for Barack Obama, you've got to at least consider that she's biased. Okay, so she's biased. So what? But she didn't campaign for Hillary Clinton, a woman. Why not??? If Sarah Palin is so abhorrent, why not back obviously the most qualified candidate for the presidency in the 20th Century. I think Oprah should stay true to her word- it is a stupid Boycott, now if Oprah let Obama on the show (Now that he is running for president) then I would understand the boycott. If you’re going to boycott anything- It shouldn’t be someone who is showing integrity.

In China they only allow one baby per family and if it's a girl they sometimes murder it, leave it at an adoption farm, or keep it as a "shadow" child. It's presumptuous of you to not let women make their own choice of how many children they want. Isn't that what feminism is all about, a womens choice. Not what YOU choose and make judgment on someone else. So how many kids do you have and how many are adopted or foster? I bet zippo. You just pass judgment on others when it's convenient for your political views. Do you think the Kennedy's are selfish for having so many kids? None of them are adopted or from foster.
This boycott is beyond ridiculous. A woman vice presidential candidate doesn't deserve special treatment, especially if an african american PRESIDENTIAL candidate is not getting the special treatment either. This is definitely a historical election, but everyone can acknowledge that without criticizing Oprah and looking ignorant. As a woman I find it so embarassing to see women boycotting another woman for such a stupid, stupid (did i mention stupid?) reason.
This is all a moot point seeing as Palin will not give an interview, it's been said on all news stations (Fox news included) that she will not be speaking with anyone from the press. So Oprah not having Palin on her show is just another platform for people to bitch about rather than look at the candidates talk about healthcare and what not.

I quit watching Oprah years ago when I got tired of her looking at herself in the screens when she was dancing or singing to make sure she looked good doing it. I hope she does want Palin on after the election and I hope Palin refuses.
I find it so funny that all the dems will vote for a man who is not even a US citizen and has no qualifications for prez!!!!!!!!! I mean you can't fix stupid! Palin is awesome. She is human and isn't perfect. Let's see a US citizen or a black racist?????HMMM…..tough question!

I've already boycotted Oprah because she keeps having celebrity scientologists on her show. Oprah refuses to address that scientology kidnaps, rapes, disconnects, and defrauds its members.
