Miniature dachshund gnawed off owner's toe while she slept
An American woman says her beloved miniature dachshund gnawed off her right big toe while she was asleep.
Linda Floyd said her beloved Roscoe has since been put down because of safety concerns.
The 56-year-old says she has no feeling in her toes because of nerve damage from diabetes. She discovered the toe missing after waking from a nap.
A vet said that because the toe had been bandaged due to an ingrowing nail, it may have somehow attracted the dog.

Yall are idiots… the dog was most likely put to sleep b/c it wasnt current on its vaccinations and or showed signs of being rabid. just because the toe didnt have feeling does not mean it doesnt have a blood supply. so if the dog chewed the toe its saliva would have gotten in the blood stream thus causing a possible rabies case. geeze people

Just like to make a few points, im sure half u people just read the headline and not the story, so many people saying "how could you not wake up". She has no feeling in her toes. Sounds like the poor lil doggy was hungry she should have fed it more. Also got her toe seen to if she had an infection….of course a dog would be attracted to the smell, if you didnt have feeling in any part of your body wouldnt you lock the dog out of the bedroom while u slept. And i do not see why they put the dog down, fair enough if would be a little gross to look at your dog knowing that it ate a part of your body but dogs are dogs after all, she should have given it away or locked the dog outta the bedroom, so nasty an inhumain, if she loved the dog as she said she does she wouldnt have got it put down
There was a study about this actually. Small dogs and cats will eat their owners if the owner dies in the house. Larger dogs like Shepherds, even Wolves were loyal enough NOT to chew on their dead owners. Or their LIVE owners for that matter. What a fucked up little dog.
