The Gayest Movie Ever Made

Filed under: Gay Gay Gay > Film Flickers > Old People

Candelabras and glitter!!

Oceans 11 director Steven Soderbergh is working on a Liberace biopic, according to new reports.

Gayriffic!

However, when he was alive, the flamboyent piano man vehemently denied being g-a-y.

Uh-huh.

Soderbergh has supposedly cast oldster Michael Douglas to play the role of Liberace.

Interesting choice!

We're used to seeing Michael Douglas sex it up with the ladies on the big screen.

Was this a good casting choice?

Could someone else do it better? Besides Clay Aiken!

  6. 6

    Liberace was gay?
I doubt that, the women loved him,
he was a major female attraction in
his day, women swooned over him,
he was like a musical Rock Hudson
to women, so NO WAY he could
    have been gay!

  7. 7

I SO thought that was Glenn Close dressed up in costume on the right!!!! Haha!

  8. 8

How about fired attorney general ALBERTO GONZALEZ?

  9. 9

judging by that picture, Alec Baldwin would have been more on point….

  10. 10

  14. 14

its a great choice! lol. im pretty sure he didnt even have to audition considering that episode of will and grace he did where he played a gay cop!

  15. 15

  19. 19

…I thought that 'Polyester' was the gayest movie ever made, but this certainly may trump it. Hopefully I will be asked to sing the love theme. My brother can write that one. smirk. "We've Only Just Begun" to lube…

  20. 20

i think MD is perfect. anyone remember when he guest starred on Will & Grace and was hitting on Will?? hilarious!

  32. 32

    Re: DanceNowBoy

godammn where are all these hott boys comin from?

  33. 33

That's funny, I was thinking YESTERDAY we haven't heard much from Michael or Catherine Zeta Jones in awhile. I think he'll do a great job!

  34. 34

Liberace had a very interesting early life, and Michael Douglas is way to old to play him as a young man.
    .
Philip Seymour Hoffman would be a good choice, IMO.

  35. 35

Re: abercorey – looks like your gonna hafta fight latindaddy for em tho. unless….oh! 2-fer!!!!!

  36. 36

Re: wildmidwestern – No never did, talk dirty to me now!

  37. 37

Re: LatinDaddy – Jerry & Daddy sittin' in tree , suckin' each others little pee pees!

  38. 38

Hes a good choice, he can do a great creepy voice just like Liberaces.

  39. 39

you should totally play the lead perez!

    40

I wasn't interested in seeing Andrew Robinson portray Liberace (and, he was more visually like Liberace than Douglas). So, I think that I will pass.

  41. 41

There were a couple of them done already. Andy Robinson (wacko from Dirty Harry) did a convincing job. Michael Douglas would be a goofy Liberace. I agree with BBGUN - John Travolta yes - hair no.

Re: RashManly – You ARE being facetious, right? lol

  43. 43

did you ever see that episode of will and grace where michael douglas played a gay guy? it was HILARIOUS!!! if i'm remembering correctly

  44. 44

Ok Lib has been dead for 20 yrs-no one gives a shit. What a waste of film.

  45. 45

Re: Myron Bunzgrabber – LOL sorry SWEETIE, more like your FATHER!

  46. 46

    Re: wildmidwestern

im not afraid to pull out a switchblade from my shoe and cut a bitch for a piece of ass like that….

  47. 47

Michael Douglas would be funny as Liberace. He could do it. I remember some of the campy things he did on television in the early days of black and white.

  48. 48

I think Andy27 would have been perfect for the part of Liberace.

  49. Regan says – reply to this

    49

Michael Douglas played a gay cop on Will and Grace and he was convincing enough!! I think it's a great choice. But why would anyone want to make a movie about Liberace in the first place. who cares?

  50. 50

imo, robin williams would be a fantastic liberace.

  51. 51

Strange choice, it will be interesting to see if he can pull it off, usually he just pretty much plays himself in movies you never see him sort of become someone else. I think they should have picked Kevin Spacy, or Perez.

  52. 52

    Re: Artemis On Cloud 9
    Not EVEN! LOL!
Hey, your avatar is way FIERCE!

  53. 53

Christopher Walken could pull this off!

  54. 54

Jesus … they're gonna have to shell out a fortune in Actors Willing to Make Out with Michael Douglas. I mean sure .. he's married to Catherine Zeta Jones but I prefer to think that their children were all conceived through IVF (this thought is my happy place - it protects me when I'm frightened by images of their coupling.)

  55. 55

    Old … balls.

  56. 56

THAT'S A SEPARATED AT BIRTH PIC

  57. 57

They're gonna have to put Michael's makeup on with a trowel when he's playing "young" Liberace.

  58. 58

    Re: Myron Bunzgrabber

    LOL! Thanks! It's Goddess Kali!

  59. 59

Kevin Spacey anyone!!!! Remember him in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Replace the propensity for murder with a lisp and add a few sequins and he's it!

  60. 60

    HUGH JACKMAN!!
C'mon - the boy from OZ could totally pull this off..

  61. 61

I think Barry Manilow would be a better choice or John Travolta or Tom Cruise, at least the latter 2 could let themsleves "Out of the Closet" for a little while, They could Probably even get a Kissing scene written in. At least then John wouldn't have to hide his kissing on his Jet

  62. 62

    No Thanks!
