The Ladies Of The View Rip Into John McCain
Filed under: Barbara Walters > Elizabitch Hasselbeck > Whoopi Goldberg > John McCainWe were going to be on The View next week, but - sadly - our segment has had to be rescheduled for a later time.
Sad.
We'll continue to watch the show, though, like we did today when the ladies completely tore John McCain a new asshole.
It's must-see TV!
Check out the extended interview (below).

eww! I don't like either McCain's or Sarah Paliin! They're a blatant copy of Bush! And Elizabeth is such a suck up! ugh!
okay so i'm from canada, so i don't really follow american politics,
however, i've been in support of obama ever since the beginning
i'd just like to say though about barbara walters - for a women who has interviewed thousands of people, she could not have been any ruder to john mcain and his wife. i was disgusted at how someone so visible in the public eye, could make an attempt to embarass john mcain. a good interviewer would not inflict their own opinion into the conversation. she is without a doubt the worst female in the public eye today.
like i said, i am an obama supporter
but i just became so much more respectful of john mcain after watching that
he was classy and did not back down to anything
he was a natural, easy going guy
and i think he deserves as equal a chance as obama does.
happy voting.
I don't think they ripped him a new one at all. I think he handled himself well. And Barbara Walters and Whoopi were so disrespectful! If Obama had been treated that way by ANY "journalist" it would've made front-page news.
And regarding Whoopi's slavery comment, does she not know that Republicans are the ones who throughout history fought for civil rights while Democrats fully supported slavery, segregation, and Jim Crow laws? Does she not know that Democrats fought against anti-lynching laws? Does she not realize that Dem President FDR's choice for VP was Harry Truman, who joined the KKK in 1922? And Dem President JFK had MLK Jr. wiretapped and investigated by the FBI? And Dem President Bill Clinton's mentor was US Senator J. W. Fulbright who supported racial segregation? And Republicans enacted Civil Rights laws over the objections of Dems? And Republican Sen. D. Eisenhower sent troops into the south to desegregate schools? And Republican President D. Eisenhower appointed Chief Justice Earl Warren to Supreme Court which resulted in 1954 Brown v. Board of Education decision? And the 1963 March on Washington was organized by A. Philip Randolph who was a black republican? And Martin Luther King, Jr. was a republican? Just asking…
Robster
If you are dutch, then why are you discussing American politics, unless you are a US citizen of Dutch descent, then my apologies. You are making arguments that are seemingly irrelevant. You are saying that Sarah Palin should be able to handle hard questions, and she should, but the goal of the press is not to attack a candidate That is what happened on The View. When a candidate can't finish a question, that is beyond journalistic, and quite frankly disrespectful and rude. Being a former journalist, you are supposed to stay outside of the viewpoints of the story and report accurately. So, the point about being able to handle tough talk is irrelevant. The media is supposed to ask tough questions and report the answers, not attack Obama or McCain.
Oh Perez I love how ignorant and stupid and biased you are. How can you make fun of McCain for crossing his legs? How about if you look at Obama's interview with the View. Uhh. His legs are crossed also.
Re: Whatupperez –
American politics is relevant to the entire world. As there are dutch troops fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan and many have died there already. The state of the US economy affects us all, as does the state of the US Dollar. Environmental action needs to be taken since theUS is one of largest polutting countries in the world, unwilling to take action or show innitiative in lowering CO2 emmisions. What happens in the US is of great interest to the world, and politics interest me, so I think I have the right to voice my opinion on the matter. It's up to you who you vote for, but I'm free to tell you how I feel.
Btw, the test I took shows that almost 13.000 people in Holland tend to agree more with Obama's statements then with McCain, who gets 1500 votes in the test. And this test is very diverse and varied, addressing all major points on their agenda, not just issues of war etc.
Re: amylala – You do realize that was 108 years ago. Teddy Roosevelt also worked to preserve nature, not destroy it (drill, baby, drill). He was also progressive in other ways regarding the rights of individuals and workers. Sarah Palin wants to return this country to the 20th Century and is probably better suited to 1900 than 2008. Oh, and by the way, in 1900 she would not have been able to vote - let alone hold public office. She would have to actually raise her children herself - which is what she SHOULD be doing now.
It irks me that McCain is such a hypocrite and a liar. That comment that Obama made was NOT about Caribou Barbie Palin and he KNOWS it. Dirty Republican tricks is business as usual and I, for one, am sick of it!!
McCain is Bush Lite. Same crappy beer, just less substance - if that is possible.
Re: mark18usa – #364
I'm here because I've been reading and posting on Perez for a couple of years now. All kinds of people read Perez. Maybe YOU should go to Daily Kos if you're afraid of hearing viewpoints other than your own narrow one. I'm posting because I have every right to my opinion, and because I like to hear opposite points of view. I wouldn't go to the RNC because I consider myself more of a Libertarian. And for every post in which I have stated facts, those facts are TRUE.

McCain/Palin '08!
Re: robster –
Yes, it is your right to express your opinion and that is something that we Americans have. I don't know free speech rights in your country and it is irrelevant. What I find interesting is how many posts you have put up on this subject. I understand that it is important for Dutch people to see how it will effect them. But, at the same point, does it not benefit people from other countries to have a weak US leader. You don't know what Obama stands for any more than the rest of the people. I live in Illinois. I lived in Barack Obama's Illinois State Senate district and I also experience him as a US Senator. He is proven all talk and no action. I think the people of the world would be interested to know that he voted against legislation that would give Hispanics an equal vote in government. And you think people around the world are stupid enough to love this once he gets in office? They love him because he wants to go around and apologize for the US protecting itself and give their country money.
It is impossible for you to be well informed about this candidate when other people who live in this country aren't. You're going on a promise unless you are from Illinois. The only people know what it is likely to experience Obama are people from Illinois where his approval rating is low. Interesting, Palin's is close to 85%.
Re: Whatupperez –
Of course it's not impossible for me to be well informed about the presidential candidates! Dutch news reports about the elections on a daily basis, I read a lot on the internet on a variety of websites and news outlets, try to get an unbiased look at both parties, etc. So I think it's fair to say that I am fairly well informed. Of course I don't know him as he doesn't run this country, but with your argument it almost sounds like Illinois should have the only real vote on Obama since they "know him", and others just are not properly informed about him.
Free speech in holland is one of the greatest goods we have. We have a very varied society, and policies that are considered very liberal around the world. We were the first country to legalize gay marriage, have done groundbreaking work in terms of euthanasia, drug law inforcement, etc, etc. Holland has greater benifit in having STRONG allies, with STRONG leaders, but also leaders who are more on the same page in terms of a slightly less conservative stance on things, someone like Obama. What good would a weak leader do us? An even worse economy, a weaker dollar. The recesion is bad enough as it is!
Re: robster –
Im not saying that only people in Illinois are prepared to vote for Obama. But, they are the only ones who have experienced what he is really about. The rest of us, like with John McCain and Sarah Palin, are going on a promise. You are talking about Obama in absolute terms. How can you really know what a candidate stands for unless you examine his voting record in government. I am not saying go out and vote for John McCain and Palin. You are saying people need to support Obama, when you are being fed by a media that is clearly shows bias, which gets back to the point of this conversation posting about the view.
The only fullproof way to know a candidate and to go out as an advocate, as you clearly have, is do your research. Do me a favor, study his Illinois senate record. He voted Present instead of yes or no on nearly 150 Illinois Senate votes. That's not change. He also supported legislation which taught sex ed to young children. Sorry but my 6 year old nephew doesn't need to learn about women's bodies at that age. Also, why do you keep talking about some online test. Great it states the more people in Holland want to vote for Obama. Do you think people really want to know that? There are all polls here that say McCain is ahead. You think a voter in innercity Chicago that Barack loves gives a care about that. You got to go on the issues man and decide for yourself.
Re: Whatupperez – Well, apparently unlike Robster, you and I HAVE looked at Obama's voting record.
-
It absolutely SICKENS me that Obama would cast a vote against a bill that would require doctors to provide medical care for babies who survive abortions. No matter where you stand on the abortion question (I am pro Roe v. Wade) that is just cold-blooded.
-
For those of you who haven't looked at Obama's flimsy voting record, Google "born alive bill obama" to see the truth for yourselves.
-
Also, for those of you interested in his community organizer days, I encourage you to really dig into it. The fact that he worked with ACORN, a very shady and corrupt organization, is um, interesting to say the least.
Hollywood is a bunch of snotty overpaid..over rated drug addicts. I come here to make fun of them and see how stupid they talk. Which is alot!! The public is dumb enough to pay to watch them on screen and then have them laugh all the way to the bank…I cant stand liberals I hate democrats.
This is about today's "View" with John McCain.
It was embarrassing to watch supposed professionals act like spoiled children whose parents were making them play with the neighborhood kid everyone dislikes.
Barbara Walters was embarrasingly unprofessional.
She didn't look at him when she talked to him
When people clapped for his answer to faith and service, she didn't.
The distain on her face the whole time was painfully apparent.
Her body language was of sheer disgust the whole time.
It was extremely unprofessional and almost childish of her.
Loved it! They were tough on him and didn't let him try and double talk them. Elizabeth's attempt at giving him a hard question on abortion was lame. You know that bitch probably told him in advance and let him rehearse his answer. I despise that little chipmunk. Did you notice how the Cryptkeeper (aka Cindy Mccain) hugged/kissed Elizabeth but gave everyone else cold handshakes. LMAO! when Whoopi said asked if she should be scared about being a slave again and Babs chimes in with "Whoopi and Sherry, us white people will take care of you." Overall good job ladies, now let's get Palin on there and rip that bitch apart!
Re: Whatupperez – Okay, I'll look further into the matter, but again, his views match my views most, which is why he has my support, even if I can't vote for him. I agree that it is irrelevant for people to know the dutch people agree more with what Obama says then what McCain has to say, I brought the test up because it's a good tool for people to objectively get an idea what you should vote if you only look at quotes concerning every major issue both candidates have made. There's also an english version of this test, if you want to try it you can google for "votematch usa". It's also another tool to see who represents your feelings best.
That sex education thing has already been proven false and tv networks have pulled that spot by the McCain camp because he was talking about educating kids on the signs of peadophiles and child molesters, in other words to protect them, not to tell them all about the functions of the body yet. (even though I did get basic education on the human body when I was about 10 years old in school).
Re: The Warden – you're a fool.
Obama talks about fairness and evenness and how America is out of balance. His ideas and message sounds like a political slogan from the 19th century.
-
From each according to his ability - To each according to his need.
-
Karl Marx 1875
-
In the Marxist view, such an arrangement will be made possible by the abundance of goods and services that a developed communist society will produce; the idea is that there will be enough to satisfy everyone's needs.
-
Sounds eerily similar to Obama's message.
yeah ok that wasnt bad at all… that made me love john mccain even more
Re: The Warden – Obama just went on O'Reilly last week….and Bill O was pretty impressed. You need to get those facts straight…..
Re: NativeNYer – Its because Republicans are fucking up this country and everyone knows this. This is the reason they react this way for fuck sake.
I am so torn because I truly love Obama but after watching this, I'm in the middle again. Glad to hear McCain will appoint Democrats, if elected. I also love that years ago, they adopted Bridget from Bangledesh who they are very proud of and I've seen so many X's. Say what you will, his wife Cindy is gorgeous for her age and yes, I'm sure money bought part of her looks but good god, she'd make one beautiful, fashionable first lady. Like Jackie O. Also loved the fact that Cindy visited the state of Georgia, which is in extreme conflict w/ Russia. Kudos how she answered Barbara's question, "How many homes do you own?" "THAT'S NOT THE ISSUE." Because I'm open to all viewpoints, I'd truly like to see more of Obama's people go on a show, for example, Hannity & Colmes - and take on questions. Turnabout is fair play…
Re: stephymcgray – Agree.
Re: westernbuckeye – Agree w/ you too.
I kind of feel bad for the guy….
.
I couldn't agree more with Joy. McCain used to be a Republican I actually liked. He's changed - for the worse.
Re: The Warden – Dumbshit, he talked to Bill O'Reiley, and the guy couldn't be a bigger hypocrite or more delusional. Dumb people…
Ok first let me say I am NOT a HUGE fan of McCain..but I think that the interview was a complete disgrace and just shows how one sided Barbara Walters and Whoopi are, and rude…Even if you don't like the man, he is still a GREAT american hero..and whether you agree with the politics or not the man deserves respect! I don't think the View will ever be on my t.v. again..and if I never see Baraba and Whoopi do another interview again..that would be too soon!
Re: YoMomma – RU SERIOUS..I didn't think Americans could be so dumb and then you came along!!!
Re: robster –
That is incorrect. If you read the bill, it is masked under a protecting a child from abuse. But, you tell me why a child needs to know about a man and woman's body parts, homosexuality, heterosexual sex and rape. To protect a child from abuse, you simply say if someone touches you in way you feel uncomfortable, go get away and tell someone. That has been around since the 80's. This bill calls for the education of young children. I understand you were 10. This is for educating 5 and 6 year olds. I was with my nephew who is six today. He doesn't need to know about vaginal penetration. He is a freaking kid. Again, you got the media spin. You have to read the bill and what it demands kids be taught.
Re: robster – You sound intelligent. Regarding CO2 emissions, you might like to check out Solar Cycle 24 and other sites studying our Sun and its effects on Earth's climate. A warmer Earth is better than a colder Earth. Al Gore is a bag of hot air with political clout and he was given a Nobel Prize for it. He should have been given a shovel.
The only thing McCain's appearance on the View did for me was realize that I hate Barbara Walters. She is such a bitch. She would never have done that to Obama.
I actually felt bad for McCain!
And even though I did NOT like Cindy, her appearance on the show proved that she is a strong woman, and a charitable one at that. She donates so much money to charity it's unbelievable. And who the hell cares how many homes she has? Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have numerous homes, donate to charity, and are consider God's gift to the celebrity community for doing so.
Thank you Barbara Walters, and thank you to the View. You have opened my eyes and I will now be supporting McCain and Palin this November instead of Obama and Biden as I was planning
Re: The Warden – HOW IS BARACK AFRAID,WHEN HE'S THE ONLY ONE OF THE TWO,ANSWERING THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTIONS ON HOW HE PLANS TO HEAL THIS COUNTRY FROM IT'S WOUNDS.
damn mccain was sexy back in the day
obama/biden '08
Barbara Walterz,
If you don't get rid of that elizabitchwitch, I will never watch that show. I get sick every time her mouth openz.
Whoopie got a little worked up there. hehe
John McCain: W. Bush part 2.
Vote for Obama!
Re: The Warden –
Obama just went on Bill O'Reilly……So what are you talking about he's afraid?
Re: The Warden – Hey smartguy - Obama went on FOX news and sat with Bill O'Reilly!!!! How much more right-wing can you get!!??
Even though I support Obama, I must say that I thought it was awful of BW to be so one-sided. She usually is much more gracious to guests on the show. The ladies were so see-thru (except Elisabeth, though she wasn't allowed to be herself). I'm glad that when asked about how many homes they had, Cindy put BW in her place. What does that have to do with his running for office? Not good. You guys disappointed me.
