In a new interview the Pennsylvania gal said:
"If I were writing a letter to Sarah Palin it would be a lot of whys and hows. Who are you? Do you know? Why do you hate animals? Please point out Iraq on a map …"
"This woman hates women. She is not a feminist. She is not the woman that's going to come behind Hillary Clinton and do anything that Hillary Clinton would've been capable of … I can't imagine overturning Roe vs. Wade. She's not of this time. The woman terrifies me."

I thought Gibson set the tone as tense and adversarial right off the bat, and he looked sour, disapproving, and smirky (hehe) the entire time. It really detracted from the interview. I was also disturbed by the edits… makes me wonder what was left on the cutting-room floor. I was disappointed because when you contrast it with O'Reilly's interview of Obama, O'Reilly let Obama answer questions in the long-winded way he does. The Gibson interview was like watching someone take a test given by an instructor who hates them. It was uncomfortable. O'Reilly took time to joke with Obama and lighten the mood from time to time. The animosity from the press only helps McCain. Wrong tack to take, imo.

But to me, she was not what I had hoped. I'm more confused now than I was before. I don't like her but I do like McCain. I like Joe Biden but I'm nervous about Obama. IMO, her interview was a sneak peek. I know politicians lie and skirt around the issues. So, I'm trying to keep an open mind. My main problem is that she talked about Russia and Georgia. Very disturbing to me. I have a very different take on that situation than most. She came off war hungry to me and I have a huge problem with that. But time will tell. We have some time left and I think the debates will help most people decide.

Just because she hunts animals does not mean she hates animals.
I grow up in Minnesota and my dad and brothers hunted deer. For a few years in the early 90s, the number of deer that could be hunted was severly restricted, so it was harder to get a license and then you could only get one.
What happened? Thousands of deer starved to death. I saw it with my own eyes — deers in a cold and empty corn field, nothing to eat, ribs and bones. The deer did not know what to do or where to go for food — there was simply too many deer and not enough resources to support them. I wish we could have done something about their suffering.
If you love animals you would not want them to suffer and starve to death. If you love animals, you would believe in responsible wildlife management.
And I'm an animal lover. My little kitty cat is on my lap right now. I might as well have given birth to him, I love him so much.

My feeling is that McCain and Biden both do well under hostile questioning… after all, they have both had decades of experience in dealing with the press. I think both Obama and Palin get flustered when questioning gets nasty. It will be interesting to see the Sean Hannity interview of Palin because I want to see how she does in a more relaxed setting with a questioner, who is favorable to her. We might see a different side of her. God knows, Obama has had those opportunities and he comes across as very likeable.

Perhaps you didn't read my prior posts where I specifically stated that any celebrity from either political party leaning needs to have their own crap in check before they go spouting political advice. I used the example that Natalie Portman is a VERY well educated, well researched in politics liberal woman. Despite the fact that I disagree with her liberal stances—I can not fault any female celebrity with her intelligence background speaking out on political/social issues. Pink, Lindsey Lohan & Pamela Anderson are not exactly the bearers of intelligent decision making in their own life let alone should they be giving advice to others. And YES, I would say the same for any republican leaning celebrity such as Jessica Simpson—she is a brainless bimbo divorce and has no business trying to sway her fans with her interpretations of politics..they should first be someone who has a history of making good decisions in their own life before we trust their decision for president. I can't really help you understand her allure on a personal level. I was a McCain voter before he chose his running mate. I would have voted for McCain regardless of whether he chose Palin or Lieberman or Romney or whomever. I just like McCain's views and his voting record in the Senate. I think Palin's allure to the Repulican base is that she is more conservative than McCain. For example, McCain supports stem cell research, climate change mitigation, etc. For that reason he made hard-line conservatives nervous. The allure of Palin is really targeted at hardcore far-right conservatives. Aside from the fact that I am more in line with McCain's views than with Palin's, I do admire her drive and the success she has achieved. Whether you agree with her or not, it goes to show that women should refuse to be limited in their aspirations and in achieving their goals by motherhood or anything else.
Sarah Plain-Pain is a COMPLETE INSULT to feminism and women's rights.

I can't believe we are even talking about R v W and people are using that as a reason to elect this woman, all she can do is nominate a justice IF she is President, the justice still has to be approved. Maybe ya'll should talk to some people, we are in the mist of two wars, the verge of an energy crisis, the worst housing market in 80 years, banks folding, and the worst economy since the 30's, educational rankings #38 world wide and slipping and you jack asses want to waste time thinking about R v W? Something she can't change herself???? There are many issues, open your eyes. I kind of hope something happens to you and you don't have insurance to pay for it, than you loose your house, maybe while your sitting on skid row hungry and can't remember the last time you ate and where your going to sleep you will be at least happy that a VP who can't nominate a justice believes in pro-life. Yes, I agree, Americans seem to be oblivious to things outside their border. However, since I am an American, I know that this is just they way Americans are. I'm always wanting people to pay more attention to things outside the states but they just don't care. Watch, I will be attacked for saying what I just said. It's ok though. I can handle it!
I hear all the time, where I live, how Americans are ignorant to world issues. I hear about how they think we're stupid. And I try to defend it but it's getting harder and harder. I recently talked to a Canadian who was astounded that Americans have no clue an election is going on. She said that Canadians are bombarded with news of our election but she knows Americans have no clue about theirs. She recently asked an American who their PM was and was met with a blank stare. Shocking to her, but not to me. Americans are not stupid. It's the media. Too much bias from both ends. And not enough world issues.
I heard when she was told that Russia invaded Georgia, her first response was "Oh, that's awful and I was just in the Atlanta airport!"
Another celebrity along with Matt Damon, Oprah and Whoopi I will be not watching in any movies or shows again. Don't these stupid celebutards realize at the very LEAST half of their viewers are republicans, the proof is in the last two elections and the polls..
