Pink on Palin

Filed under: Politik > Pink > Sarah Palin

pinkpalin.jpg

It's girl-power rocker Pink's turn to chime in on the GOP VP pick, Sarah Palin.

In a new interview the Pennsylvania gal said:

"If I were writing a letter to Sarah Palin it would be a lot of whys and hows. Who are you? Do you know? Why do you hate animals? Please point out Iraq on a map …"

"This woman hates women. She is not a feminist. She is not the woman that's going to come behind Hillary Clinton and do anything that Hillary Clinton would've been capable of … I can't imagine overturning Roe vs. Wade. She's not of this time. The woman terrifies me."

Wow! Hockey mom Sarah is good at 'scaring people'!

Is that a good thing?!

I LOVE Pink for this. Awesome. Gobama!!

Re: mamajud – Most celebrities I know are pretty generous. We have a lot of celebrities at my friends school and they are the biggest givers.

  3. 303

I am sick and tired of hearing people talking about how Republicans are going to over-turn Roe v. Wade. As those who understand the way government and the Constitution work, even if Roe v. Wade is overturned, abortion would not be outlawed. It would then be up to each individual state to decide how they would deal with the issue. One would think that liberals would like this seeing as they have more of a say in the way their country is run, instead of 9 old men and women making the decision for them. To sit there and say this just shows that famous people do not know what they are talking about and prove they are only pretty face. At least George Clooney had it right when he said that he was going to stay away from making stupid comments, because it cost Kerry the last election. Keep the ignorant comments coming.

Re: Poodle Face – Post 288
Keep dreaming Poodle. Denial is the first sign that there's trouble afoot. Everything will be ok. The next stage is acceptance.

  5. 305

Re: mamajud – Plus my husband makes well over one million dollars a year and we will be taxed higher….America has been good to us and we share it. Most Americans will see a nice tax refund if Obama gets in. Most Americans will see a tiny refund with McCain. Yes, I am in the bracket that will pay more and our family is willing to give back to the country that has given so much to us!

  6. 306

Celebrities are people too, and while Pink may not be the BEST illustrator of this point people like Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy, Morgan Freeman, George Clooney and other rather thoughtful people are publically backing Obama. The most noteable celebs are sticking their necks out to support Barack Obama, the celebs many of you have under your "favorite celevrities" portion of your perezhilton.com profile.
    ——–
Should celebs tell people what to think? No. Does their support lend credibility to the candidate's campaign? Not necesserily. However, when you look at the extensive list of intelligent, talented actors backing Barack Vs. the short list of Celebs for McCain (i.e. Daddy Yankee, Spencer and Heidi) it really says something doesn't it?

  7. 307

While Palin was mayor, victims of rape had to pay for their own rape kits. Check it out on Digg.

    Also…..

Sarah Palin, the governor of Alaska and John McCain's vice presidential pick, is an enthusiastic hunter who has proposed legislation and cash incentives to encourage aerial wolf gunning, the controversial practice of shooting wolves from an aircraft.

  8. 308

"This woman hates woman"… please explain, since when is being/not being a feminist equatable to liking or disliking women????
I don't think roe v. wade will be overturned anytime soon, no matter who's in office… so don't worry Pink. But I do think that Palin sets a great example for women and working mothers out there with disabled children. Plus the fact that her daughter is willing to raise her child and not terminate the pregnancy is admirable.

  9. 309

Re: State ziti – your a prick coward………dare thru your NY neighborhood making fun of kids in blackface……..you'd be knocked out cold before you could utter the word cunt

Re: Smirks – Good point. She's a woman with determination and that's a very good thing. I think my problem is that she's too far right. Her beliefs are what make me nervous. I have no problem with religion but I'm nervous about her being able to keep her religion out of her politics. Or if that's even possible? Her religion seems to be her lifestyle. It makes me uncomfortable. And maybe a little paranoid??

This is coming from a person who has deep philosophical songs like "get the party started" her expiration date ran out in 2003.

  13. 313

PINK IS S M A R T !!!!!!!!!! That animal hater from the North Pole is an opportunist of the worse kind, God protect America from that dangerous individual, she wants WAR just like McCane and Butch the Butcher. God help us all.

  14. 314

Re: Blackacid Betty – Pink did not say she supports Obama. In fact, I would assume Pink does not support Obama. Obama is not a vegetarian, therefore he also supports the killing of animals. Pink says Palin hates animals because Palin hunts and kills them. Pink would be a hippocrate to then think anyone who eats animals does not hate animals, because obviously you need to kill an animal to eat it. Obama eats hamburgers and goes "yummmmmmm" so I think he must support the killing of cows. Cows, moose, bunnies, what is the difference, a death is a death. So therefore logic will tell us that Pink does not support Obama. Thank you.

    PETA forever!

  15. 315

Re: State ziti – Tut. you've shown your cracker-heritage. Just ’cause NY or NYC is north of the Mason-Dicks line, you've shown a few in-breds have still managed to slither across. Nice pic. Couldn't you fit your 400 lb cheeto's-munching ass on a pic?

  16. 316

Re: marilow – That is so wolves don't kill cows and farm animals — there are farmers in Alaska trying to make a living. There are many wolves, and if they don't control the population wolves would also starve to death and suffer.

And if you're going to say Palin agrees with something, at least back it up with some proof. This is the Internet and it is easy to grab quotes on these issues. And this is a blog, and any crazy person could post here. Back up your points with proof, people!

  17. 317

Re: State ziti – Whatever jackass, 38 is 38, our challenges are no different than anywhere else in the world. I think you should maybe educate yourself and not be such a bigot, you might just realize it's people like you who are the dumbest of all, much dumber than any color!!!

Palin scares Pink, not people. Just because you're pro-life and not in favor of abortion DOESN'T mean that you hate women. How IGNORANT. It's also very INTOLERANT of other points of view- something liberals claim to pride themselves on.

  20. 320

Re: SquirrelLives – We have to get Palin's recipe for Squirrel Stew. I hear it tastes a lot like Bull Shit!

  21. 321

She scares the fukn crap outa me, a female version of bush

okay this is A SECULAR SOCIETY no need ot talk about fukn god!

she's gona be a war maniac i fear for my life and my love's

ur a racist about not uttering president obama

we dont need radicals in the office

  22. 322

    Re: rent_out_my_cat_for_a_day

I'm not assuming Pink (or P!nk to the hardcore fans, HA!) is voting for Obama, but I just read a lot of conversations about people whining about celebrities' input in politics. I was simply trying to point out that celebrities as a whole represent a small portion of the U.S. and among the most intelligent, i.e. Natalie Portman, are staunch Obama voters–thus they're input can't always be hyped up to celebrity fodder.

Nice name by the way, haha!

  23. tora says – reply to this

    323

Yes, time and time again Sarah Palin continues to demonstrate her lack of ethics, knowledge and integrity. Yes, she is an aggressive female, which is fine, but she rides on her spunk & showmanship, which is not what politics is about. If she were to became the VP she will fail us and our country, she will humiliate us to shame. I think we are much smarter and wiser than that.

  24. 324

    Re: Poodle Face

That's a really cool stand to take, right on! :)

  25. 325

Re: Sweetiepie – Do you realize that Roe V. Wade will NEVER be overturned! Why? Because the Republicans NEED it in place (in some form) to keep their base fired up and intact. Should Roe V. Wade be overturned, the Religious Right would have no reason to show up and vote. Roe galvanizes the troups. Politicians know most of the country is Pro-choice to some degree and the people will have the final say.

Abortion should NOT be decided in the courts anyway. Neither should Gay rights or the right to commit assisted suicide. All of these issues should get kicked back to the states where the people can elect officials to VOTE on them on their behalf. That is why the U.S. is a republic (not a democracy as so many of you probably belive). Letting state governments decide on social issues ultimately gives us more control over our destiny than leaving important social issues up to appointed Supreme Court justices who were NEVER elected by the people. Enough of this "ruling from the bench" on important social issues. I agree with McCain…give the power BACK to the people to vote on issues…no more ruling from the bench.

    Pro-choice for McCain/Palin 2008!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  26. 326

Palin is a total woman-hater. Goddman fucking imbecile.

  28. 328

Re: honestbeetch – How does Palin hate women….how about making raped women pay for their own rape kits, not allowing a woman who has been raped by her own brother to have the right to terminate a pregnancy, not supporting day care for teen moms who want to finish high school or laughing on the radio about a female candidate who had breast cancer. I think those are the ways she hates women. She just hates anyone who is not a right winged Evangelical like herself. She is SO scary for women!

  29. tora says – reply to this

    329

Also, Palin HAS NO IDEA WHAT BUSH DOCTRINE IS !!! So who in their ignorant minds would be stupid enough to support her?!

  30. 330

Re: _Alice_ – Yeah. I don't have issues with religion, it just irks me when politicians interject it into speeches, interviews, etc. And they all do it. I guess as we get to know Palin better through further interviews, and of course the debates, we will get a better sense of who she really is. Should be interesting.

  36. 336

Re: characterassasination1 – I like the post where you said we should bring issues off the bench and back to the people, back to the states. If you want to live somewhere people can't have abortions, move to South Dakota. If you want to live somewhere you can get a perscription for weed, move to California. If you prefer complete communism, Conneticut is for you. Heck, if you want government health care, Canada is not too far away and neither is Europe (for those who do, good luck with that!). You vote is statistically more likely to count at a local and state level. And let's vote on issues not just candidates and people!

Re: _Alice_ – You obviously haven't been reading. I"m sorry, I'll use MS Word in the future so you don't focus on petty grammatical shit - on this O-So-IMPORTANT board. People like you are what is wrong with the USA. You want perfection - 'forest for the trees?" NOT GONNA Happen.

  38. 338

Re: nyc_opinion – People who supported Hillary that are flipping to McCain are not voting on issues. It's irrational.

Hillary would thank supporters for their loyalty, but realize that the future is grim if they don't take the elction seriously. The opposition party have dangerous proposals. Do Hillary's female supporters really want a war with Iran? You can bet your bottom dollar that will be first up on McCain's agenda, if you still have any after $$$ after the recession that's honing in on the US. [FannieMae? FreddieMac? Lehman Bros? Any of this making a dent in peanut gallery?]

A vote is not a joke. We're not electing head cheerleader. The Republicans knew their guy was slipping in the polls. His age, public glaring gaffes re:Iraq/Iran&economy, and intimidating megawealth of his wife was turning average folks off. They shrewdly tossed a "Hail Mary" and put an unknown female with zero experience in Washington, rather than a seasoned politico who knows how the game is played.

It was a gamble, but if women are so naive to switch sides simply because Palin is female, then they were never serious about Hillary. The two women are 180 degrees apart. a I wish Hillary would give a speech to the women of America who are flipping to the other side, and clearly break down each specific issue.

    All Supportin McCain

Dean Cain (Superman); James Caan (Godfather I and II, Bottle Rocket); Jon Voight (Midnight Cowboy, Deliverance); Robert

According to the country I'm already smarter than you.

  52. 352

first of all, these stupid celebrities think they know EVERYTHING! i want to know exactly what Biden has done that's so extraordinary! in the end, all these promises they are making won't mean shit. they can talk all they want, but it's going in one ear and out the other for me. what i really wanted to say is, "SHUT THE EFF UP PINK!"

Kevin Sorbo of Hercules? Hahaha. Good one, you got me there. My point was the following: people bitch that these celebs that they have posted under their "faves" section have no voice in politics, the cream of the cream, the biggest A-listers you can imagine by in large are leaning Obama (minus kathy Griffin, who as we all know is on the D list). I'm talking A-list stars, not the C-list TV sitcom folk you've handed me, minus Jerry Bruckheimer who I admire for feeding me J-Depp in a open-blouse pirate costume, meeeow.

  64. 364

wow look at all these crazy comments..haha O.k. let me set the record straight because my opinion matters the most..lol
    -
Why are you palin crazies defending this dumb ass woman. You know she is full of shit, so give it a rest already. McCain is cool but he is a old ass with old ass views, and not much will change with him in office from the way bush does things.
    -
For the women defending Palin i must say you are all red neck obese fuckers, or ugly women who like to play the role of empowering women, but in reality are just keeping busy because you cant land a man. Or maybe you are truly ignorant and are content with your miserable life and you want things to be miserable for everyone else..lol But seriously you pretend women activist need to chill the fuck out…You dont matter and your views/opinions are worthless…That is why the big boys in the Repub pary cater to you women,,,they know how impressionable you retards are.
    -
BTW Pink is a cool chick, and has accomplished way more than any of you wildnerness women…LMAO

  65. 365

And in true Amerignorant style we have nothing but hate for you girl!
My daughter luvs you, and she´s just 8, not Amerignorant though

  70. 370

celebs need to learn to shut their mouths. 98% of them don't even have a political science degree or backround. stick to making your 5-million-dollar movies and albums and shut up already.

  71. 371

People (who have been commenting on this 'article') are saying "who does she think she is to be saying that?" .. well, she's an american citizen. being that, she has every right to broadcast her opinion - just as any of us do. you do not have to agree with her, it is her opinion. and personally, i agree with her. i do not believe that sarah palin was a smart choice of VP for McCain.

And if you do not agree, maybe you should do a tiny bit of EXTRA RESEARCH and see what her history is like. You should also know that she would want the Oprah show banned. I am not an Oprah Winfrey fan, but I do know many Americans are, and so I have a feeling that is going to piss A LOT of people off.

  72. 372

Re: Leeza93 – don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out, I would recommend Air France or Virgin Atlantic for your trip over to La France, their service is the best I've found!

  73. 373

I will not buy pinks cd now. I think that any celebrity who is favoring Obama hussein just for " social status" is rediculous and needs to keep their opinions to themselves. screw pink and her stupid ass remarks. Palin is waaay smarter than her and she knows it.. pink always just has to try to be a badass.

  74. 374

Re: Bongo – Nice… A 40 year old picking on a 14 year old. Wow, you're special aren't you? Judging by the posts, Leeza is far and away, more intelligent than you'll ever hope to be. She's shown more class and grace on this "oh so not important" board than you have. I feel sorry for you "Mr. I was around during Carter" man. LMAO, I hope you don't have kids. And if you do….yikes, those poor kids.

    2. it is about getting good good geals for your people (when u buy oil, for example)
    3. it is about to recover what was clinton last good thing. a good face for the states even tough if the usa didn`t acomplish any of the requirements that the United Nations asked, such us signing the Kyoto Protocol…
but since bush you re ffed up, your economics sucks, the foreign affairs are hot and not in a good way, you are deep into dept and no one in Europe wants to help you out of this missery and you really really need some one who is actually fight FOR U and not against YOU as teh republicans have being doing all the years.

Re: _Alice_ – Cya Alice. Take care and I look forward to more interesting views from you too. I always enjoy it :)

  82. 382

First of all, when has it ever been said that Palin hates other women? I think this shows just how dumb some celebrities can be. They are so worried about letting and trying to get everyone to vote for who they want, then they end up making themselves sound like they are not intellegent. It sounds like she should do more research.

Just another dumb ass celebrity (I use the term loosely) running their stupid mouth!

Keep talking left wing celebs, you will help the Republicans win muahahaha!

Hillary Clinton SUCKS and is a horrible example for women. Stay with a lying cheating trailer trash bastard simply for the money and power?? BOO to that. Sarah Palin ROCKS! She talks her talk and more importantly walks her walk. She is prolife. She carried her baby to term, with a commitment to love and care for him despite him having Down Syndrome. I doubt seriously that power hungry Hillary would have done the same. The. End.

Oh yeah and Pink is cute, but she really should stick to singing and snarling.

Re: sickoflefties – Did I say that? nope.

I think it should be a woman's right, and not some stranger's in the white house. I'm not pro-abortion, hell no! I'm pro-choice. As for my stand on animals, if McCain/Palin enter office then we will be saying goodbye to some of our species.

I'm leaving for France in two months, so no - I can't leave early.

Pink sounds like a typical Ignorant uneducated Liberal. Nobody is going to overturn Roe v Wade. Hunting, killing, and eating/using an animal does not mean she Hates animals. How about worrying about the economy, health care….oh yeah Pink doesn't have to worry about the important issues faced by the average American.
