Hurricane Victims pay for their own rescues?
Current mood: aggravated
I am sorry, but I believe all these people should have to pay the bill for their individual rescues! When they issue a "certain death" warning and you are fucking dumb enough to stay, you do not deserve free aid. I watched people being interviewed on the news claiming they bought a bunch of beer and BBQ to sit through the storm. I bet these same people are crying for help as I type. This is fucking stupid! Why should we have to foot a dime for these dumbasses that ignored these warnings?
FREE transportaion was provided, many buses left half empty. FREE shelters were provided, many not filled up. People value MONEY and POSESSIONS more than their own lives? IDIOTS!
I feel like we reward stupidity in this country, and this is the perfect example of it. What do you guys think?
edited note:: I never said they should DIE, I said if they value their MONEY and POSSESSIONS more thn their own LIVES they should have to pay for endangering the lives of rescue workers, and sucking up more money this government DOESN'T have. someone claimed they didnt want to lose their job…I wasn't aware the bank was open that day!"
What do U think about what Adrienne has to say?????

I love her!! It is sooo true..
you o girl u are soooooooooooooooooooooooooo RIGHT
i agree w/Adrianne
She is right. What could be the reason to stay? I can understand a fire, you can grab a hose and maybe win, but what are you going to do by being there during a hurricane?
I agree 100%. Those fucking people are morons.
shes a fucking dumb ass bitch. and all you people who agree with her are stupid. you only agree because you dont live in hurricane paths. you would understand if you lived in galveston or houston
Im mad, My home town is houston and this is the 2nd time weve had to evacuate. If anything she should be understanding about the situation and not talk crap. she doesn;t live by the water so she wouldnt know
She is right. Those assholes should be left to sort themselves out. If they chose to ignore the warnings and stay put they should have to face the consequences of that decision. Fuck'em!
UNFORTUNATELY — I totally agree with her! I see no excuse good enough to put your own life at danger…and DEFINITELY not a good enough excuse to risk putting others' lives at risk. Pure selfishness.
my in laws had their house on the beach in Galveston completely destroyed by Ike. THey packed up their house on Thursday, and drove to our house to stay our of harms way. They have spent a great deal of money to rent a storage unit for their stuff, as well as transportation to get here. This is their hard earned cash, yet those people who decided to stay and "ride it out" are spendng out tax money to get lifeted from their homes after they were told they needed to go or die. I don't like Adrienne, but I have to say I agree with her on this point. I think if the gov said that they have to leave, and if they don't they have to pay for their rescue…I think many more people would have left.
she's right. even though i have no idea who she is… but she's right. it's stupid that all of these idiots DECIDED to stay behind just because they were too pigheaded to realize that they could die in this hurricane. why should taxpayers have to pay for their idiocy?
I don't know who she is but I agree with her.
It's about time some common sense prevailed.
If these people choose to stay when a "certain Death" warning has been issued, then I don't believe they deserve to be rescued. Putting the rescuers lives at risk for no good reason.
Let them lie in the bed they choose to create!
SHE IS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT FUCKING ON ON THIS ONE! PEOPLE WERE WARNED, AND I PERSONALLY SAW THE PEOPLE SITTING IN A BAR DRINKING BEER WAITING TO RIDE IT OUT. WHAT IF RESCUE WORKERS DIED SAVING THEIR STUPID ASSES? YOU WERE WARNED, PROVIDED FOR, AND YOU REFUSED. I THINK THEY SHOULD FOOT THE BILL FOR THE COAST GUARD PILOTS, WORKERS, FUEL, AND ON THE CLOCK TIME. BECAUSE THE TAX PAYERS ARE LEFT FOOTING THE BILL FOR THE THOUSANDS OF RESCUES THAT SHOULDN'T HAVE TAKEN PLACE.
Re: cmike.hunt – what the hell is wrong with you??
do u live in or around houston? probably not. not only were the people in Galveston hurt by this storm, but all of Houston Metro area, which is an upward of 5,000,000 people. Well i hope you get fucked over at the gas pumps, thats all i gotta say, you COLD-HEARTED COWARD!!
It's sad, but she is correct! THey were even warned that if they stayed,no help would be offered to them, as police and fire cant come out in a storm like that either. Yet, they chose to say and now they are using up valuable resources that could be going elsewhere.
i AGREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
i agree…stupidity should not be rewarded by taxpayers monies for rescue
Its sad but true…when you know its coming and you live in an area where even if it barley hits the tide will come to shore, You need to listen to the people who try and keep us safe and LEAVE! Whats so bad about that, espeically if you cant afford hotels and you have a free place to stay?! Why is that so bad….and why cant she say what she thinks without being made fun of? You sure can!
Re: braincandy – Per your #254 comment…I do not recall Hurricane Rita, but,….that as neither here nor there.
The fact remains, that those in the path of Hurricane Ike WERE forewarned…and, whether they choose to remain at their residence or not….it raises the insurance rates (for vehicles AND homeowners) for the rest of us.
I, now, have to pay $230 per year, for car owners insurance and $460 per year for homeowners. Some of you may not think that it's not much…but, I paid LESS than that before Katrina and Ike.
i agree with everything she is saying, its so true
i hate her, i do. but she has a point. the people were warned repeatedly and they made their own choices.
i think shes right, people may not normally feel comfortable articulating something so "harsh" but it makes sense and is fair.
I think she is right on! I don't agree with people wasting tax dollars because they are too stupid to leave when there is an evacuation in place. I work hard for my money…I don't need any more ignorant people taking away what I work so hard for. Life is hard enough.
This tranny-in-training has the right to say whatever she pleases, but bitch, please!
Before Hurricane Katrina made landfall, New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin declared a state of emergency and ordered a mandatory evacuation of New Orleans and many people who could not afford or possibly leave their homes stayed and were stranded, it's the same situation for the people in Texas.
I'm sure Miss Curry's reasoning is that she assumes anyone who is white and from TEXAS (oh, no George Bush land!) shouldn't get aid! She even asserts her stereotyping of Texans claiming "the TEXANS were "drinking" and "bbq-ing" !
Also, this furthers her lack of brains and only resource (CNN news). Ha! Those fucks at CNN are paid to write shit like that, it's hysterical! What a pitiful cuntface! And REALITY CHECK fuckface curry, people in New Orleans were drinking and partying the night before Katrina hit too.
Just because the Hurricane hit Texas doesn't mean that TEXANS should be overlooked. Black, White, Muslim, Jewish, Gay, Straight, all of U.S have one thing in common: WE LIVE IN AMERICAI
America is doomed by ignorant and narcissistic role model sluts like Curry.
In my tasteless words and utilizing my freedom of speech: I hope this bitch's vagina falls off and loses all her valuables/property.
I am from Texas and if I dont give 2 shtis about what this has been has to say!! Let me tell you about us TEXANS! We stick together! We will get threw this! And as far that brady lovin peice of shit… She should just close her mouth and keep her legs open… Thats about all she is good for!
like omg like totally like thats soooo stooped.
I'm sorry but I have to agree. If you don't flee when your told you should not be expecting others to come rescue you and foot the bill
I think she is kind of idiotic, but she's so right in this situation. You deserve to pay for your own rescue if you don't take advantage of the provided for transportation.
Honestly, not sound cruel, but I agree. If the government tells you to leave, and even provides you with transportation to a safe area, then it's you're own damn fault and you need to take responsibility for your actions. When Katrina hit, they told people that it could be bad and that people should evacuate. I feel no pity who put themselves in the line of danger and become victims of their own stupidity. Darwinism is a wonderful thing.
Oh shut up, bitch. People without unlimited funds have a right to cling to their ENTIRE FUCKING LIFE, which is their home, possessions, jobs (?), etc. Yes, it is a simple-minded approach to impending alleged-doom, but who is she to judge? She should mind her own business.
Absolutely agree. Why should MY tax dollars pay to rescue these idiots when they were told to leave in the first place. I say let them set there and find their own way to get out of the mess they got themselves into.
She looks like she got fat! I read a blog of hers awhile back where she was crying because she asked to get on Dancing with the Stars and they told her no because she's just a has been reality celeb. So she blogged that Kim Kardashian is a reality star and somehow that means that Adrianne should be on DWTS. Hahahaha…. Adrianne Curry is a pot head, exdrug addict who can't even quit smoking cigarettes when she's tried. LOL
This out of work z-list celeb shouldn't be worrying about how rescues of flood victims are going to be paid for. She's not even supporting herself!!!!!!!!!!! HYPOCRITE!!!
I agree with her too. I heard the warning.
I agree that girlfriend is irritating as hell but I gotta agree with her. For some reason those folks seem to have forgotten so quickly what happened in New Orleans with Katrina. At least this time it seems that governmental agencies remembered and we didn't have the same fiasco as then. If these people were given the means and opportunity to leave and chose not to accept that help then they must live with that choice. I have NO sympathy whatsoever.
She always gets on her high horse and tries to act as if she's an expert on social issues. She's and idiot savant!
Re: lily19 – Contrary to what you you might think…I don't feel/sound stupid. In fact, after trying to decipher your spelling and punctuation…I feel quite quite intelligent, thank you. I have never seen SO many underlined words, in RED, than I have seen in your comment.
i agree with adrian curry
ac rocks
and she is giving her opinion
she has a right to her opinion u dont like it- then do not read her HER HER HER HER blog
get it its freedom of choice
do u really want to live in a society where we must all agree with each others opinion??
I agree.. i saw people leaving on free buses..than i saw people who wanted to get drunk and stay.dum asses
I agree
Many of those that stay behind during hurricanes are first responders, doctors, police, firefighters and people with jobs that necessitate that they stay behind. So according to this failed model, those folks should have to pay to be rescued, even though they put their lives on the line to save drug addict losers like her?
What a waster she is.
she is very ignorant.
i completely 100% agree
Re: sssssteph – Those people didnt have to either! This is what she is saying. They we're given all the proper needs for leaving and getting out on time but they didnt. They thought they would outsmart the fucking storm or some shit. I totally understand where she is trying to tell us. And I agree.
Re: cali vilano – You are SO ENTIRELY wrong in your thinking. I can only hope that you heard this information at the dinner table and decided to reiterate it on-site, in the hope of sounding mature and knowledgeable.
Either way, you have no idea what you are talking about.
As a Texan, and the wife of a Firefighter/Paramedic…. I couldn't agree more with what she said. These people are putting other people's life at risk when they were given ample time and means to evacuate.
BRAVO Adrianne!!!
First of all, I am from Houston, Texas. I haven't slept in over 3 days so on top of being completely exhausted, I am now super pissed. Who the hell does she think she is? She's not from here and she wasn't here to experience what we went through. And I'd really love to know where the hell she got her facts? Was it out of her ass? Or out of her brain that only contains 1 brain cell? The "certain death" warning wasn't delivered until last minute and while yes, SOME people are hard headed, buses did not leave half full. They were full beyond what they could hold. People took these warnings seriously. Everything was very well planned and managed by our Mayor Bill White and our Governor Rick Perry. Evacuations when so smoothly this time compared to Hurricane Rita. Most of the rescues did not even occur in Galveston, which is where that warning was for. Alot of them were in Houston and other neighboring towns that were asked to stay put and most of the very few people that stayed in Galveston we not of good health to even get out. All I have to say about her is that she is nothing but a white trash twat. Next time we have a hurricane of this size I'd like her to come here and experience the the amount of stress, sleep deprivation and chaos. And the heart ache you experience when you have to leave your home, your comfort area and everything you hold dear to yourself. You know what….just fuck her, she's not welcome in Texas. But Perez always is!
I totally agree with her! You wouldnt have to ask me twice to evacuate. You got to love Americas sense of entitlement. What other country's citizens would refuse free transportation or any other means of help to get out of a bad situation? Some countries dont even offer that kind of assistance. I'm tired of the no money, too much traffic, been there done that complacent etc. excuses from lazy Americans.
I agree. We do protect and even reward the stupid in this country. Thus the reason our country continued to vote a Buffoon in for two consecutive terms and why the country is not completely OUTRAGED that the republican party has a completely unqualified candidate on their VP ticket just to appeal to dumb common hockey moms and the common bible thumping man. Sad but true, our government wants us to be stupid so they can run things as they see fit, like lead us into an unnecessary and costly battle in Iraq because we couldnt have stayed home and used that money to clean up our boarders, shipped illegal fucks home or just plain go in take out Saddam and LEAVE!!!
If you are in a MANDATORY evacuation area and don't leave, too fucking bad. You have no one to blame but yourself for the danger YOU put YOURSELF in. For people who had to stay due to their jobs (the RN and others like cops etc) of course you should be able to use government services to be rescued. No one is stating that you shouldn't have had access to rescue help.
For ones that don't want to leave their possessions/houses? Are you hanging out to watch the storm destroy them first hand? What exactly can you do to protect your stuff beyond what you would do before you evacuated anyway? Board up your house, grab what you can and cross your fingers.Say a prayer. Beyond that, there is nothing more you can do. Putting your ass in danger to boot makes no sense whatsoever. Quit blaming others when you wanted to stay behind and get tanked with friends instead of getting the hell out of dodge. You thought it wasn't going to be that bad? Well, you thought wrong. Deal with it. Katrina should have been an example of how it can go really wrong if you don't get the hell out of town when you are told to. Don't invite innocent rescue workers into your poor decisions. They should be helping out people who are in dire straits due to no fault of their own. If one of your relatives lost their lives rescuing some asshole with poor judgment, you would be pretty pissed off too.
I'd have to say she has a point.
No shit!! She is totally right. They were told to leave. By staying they were being selfish and endangered the lives of the rescuers that were legally and ethically obligated to retreive and rescue their dumbasses. Next time….listen to authorites and evacuate. How many more of these devestating storms do we have to have until people get it?
For the moron that equated car accidents to hurricanes, STFU already. You don't get 3 days notice for a car accident asshole. You can't compare the two. Things such as tornadoes and earthquakes, you have little to no warning to seek shelter. They had notice. If you want to gamble on the weather, fine but don't expect everyone to foot the bill when you crap out.
Also, if you put your kids in harms way like we have all seen on the news, you should have your kids taken away from you. If you have no sense to protect yourself, you should have enough sense to want to protect your kids.
If your stuff got nailed/family hurt and weren't told to get out, that really sucks and I do feel for you. No one should have to go through that. That's not due to poor choices/stupidity. You should get all the help that you need from the government and others. The ones that were warned? Oh well. You made the wrong decision. Deal with it.
Hey, she's right. These people that stayed after being told they could die and still stayed. STUPID ASS BITCHES!
I think she may just have a point. Shame she didn't put it slightly more elegantly, she may have got more sympathy.
I agree. I normally can't stand this chick. But I agree. It's a fucking HURRICANE!!!! They're telling you to LEAVE and you choose to stay just to see how it goes, well then, you should be responsible for yourselves and get your own asses out of there in the after math. Instead of buying lots of beer they should have bought inflatable rafts to get themselves out of it.
Valid point. Agree 100% percent.
My parents are in their 80s and disabled. They live on the Gulf Coast and they did not so much as board their windows. Part of it is a debilitating, "divine" apathy — "if our time has come, it's come; we will trust in God" — and part of it is really a lack of understanding the severity of the warnings. And another part of it, surprise surprise, is POVERTY! People with a lack of funds may find themselves not evacuating early so they can still show up to work (don't forget, the Galveston roads were flooded and blocked by or before Friday). They may be frightened of leaving their land. Above all, their options for escape are limited, especially with rising fuel costs. I don't want to excuse foolishness, but there really are myriad reasons somebody might not leave the area–Anderson Cooper wrote up a nice piece enumerating reasons and the overall mindset–and it really isn't Adrianne Curry's business to blame the victims.
It's not often I feel like I have anything in common with her, but she's pretty much right on the money here.
Re: blahfrickinblah –

come on people…
those who talked negative about this girl is full of farts in their heads. we cant deny that she is noticed the truth.sad but very true! so stop hating for the wrong f***ing reason ok.
I don't like her, but I agree. People were warned over and over. Rescues are dangerous and costly.
Re: sssssteph – you are obviously talking just to hear yourself! she is not idiot and you know it.
Re: Lene – saying this makes you feel better about yourself?
She makes a good point. These people were TOLD TO LEAVE. One would assume that the feeble and elderly were offered some assistance. If not, then I sympathize. However, people who want to take chances should have to reimburse me (and the other tax payers in this country) for their rescues when they get in over their heads.
Re: LoveTheDirty – zero interest and you're the first to respond to this? very clever!!!
Re: blockhuh67 – u r
hey "lovethedirty" you might not care what she has to say, but tons more people care about what she has to rather rather than the shit that comes out of your mouth. "love the dirty" i can only imagine what dirty things have been around it (your mouth that is).
as for Adrianne shes totally right. They didn't just WARN people about this shit… like HELLO did you HEAR ABOUT KATRINA?? fucking idiots, they also said "here let me give you FREE transportation out" and they were like "hey ya'll lets have a BBQ and get drunk". If you can pay for beer to get completely inebriated to sit through a storm that could kill you… well then you should pay for your own shit to help from there on out
Re: SnakePlissken – you dont know what you just said
Wow, she's actually making sense or once in her life.
Good point….
i mean if they did announce certain death… get the hell out of there!!!!!!!!!!!
especially if it's FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hear what Adrianne is saying, but some people have beloved pets that aren't allowed into shelters, and simply cannot evacuate because they can't bring them on those buses either. In addition, if you evacuate, you know it will be a long time until you are allowed to return, and a lot of people can't afford the hotel bills or even have cars to evacuate in. And I am again speaking of the pet owners who aren't allowed on buses or into shelters with their animals. Adrianne has top model $ and fair brady $ so $ is not an issue for her. I doubt Adrianne has any pets. All she'd be leaving behind are her pot plants. Also, a lot of people don't think the storm surges will be so bad, and they don't believe the news and warnings. Look at hurricane Gustav that just hit New Orleans. Everyone left, and people were shown on the news saying that they will never evacuate again. xoxo
I completely agree with her!
Re: sssssteph – I think we can all agree, that the stress and anguish of dealing with any tragedy is horrible, but that isn't her point…re-read what she said. She makes a decent argument.
I'm surprised by how many apathetic people there are on this site!
Even though people made a potentially disastrous decisionby staying, I don't think they deserve to DIE for it or not be rescued. Why should they forced to pay? Isn't that what their taxes are for?
Why do so many people lack empathy and basic humanity for other people? They made a mistake, but it's not as simple as saying "Fuck em, let them die."
I agree with her. For me, it's not so much about the money as about putting rescuer's lives in danger. No fucktard who refuses to evacuate is worth putting a rescuer's life in danger. They should definitely be charged the cost of their rescue as a deterrent to other morons. And if rescuer dies or is injured trying to help them, they should totally be liable.
i think she is right if i would live there and they tell me you have to evacuate i know they are not telling me twice i will leave asap.
Adrianne Curry sounds like a REPUBLICAN and this is why she is always against the government helping those that are less fortunate. She only cares about her own fame and fortune. Typical selfish celeb obsessed wannabe! Sounds like a very nasty person to me. She looks like Palin too! haha
Here's the thing, hurricanes are not going to lessen in their frequency. Hello global warming. But often in those areas prone to hurricanes there becomes a desensitized reaction to the hurricane warnings. Many older people have sat through hundreds of warnings, one or two of them being Katrina or Ike levels. There will hopefully be a shift in this mentality as frighteningly hurricanes become more frequent and extending more damage. People don't always make the right decision. But they are still people who need help. I'm glad a former drug addict has such little compassion.
while I think she's an idiot…I will say SING IT SISTER. Fucking stupid hillbillies.
I so agree…..but wait, wouldn't that be ignorant?
She's absolutely right.
i agree, they should pay for the problem THEY CAUSED. Lazy asses probably where hoping to get a free TV or free food.
Same goes for those WELFARE slugs. They should pay with some sort of work, of course most of them have a IQ lower than their shoe size. They should be fixed, like an animal, after two kids.
Re: TexasMegs – Let me ask you, please….why did I receive AT LEAST 2 days notice that you, in the Texas area, were being evacuated, when YOU weren't notified (and, I am in the upper Midwest)?
"Certain death" warning, huh? I find it kinda funny that the ONLY time I have heard that term, was on your post (on a celebrity gossip site).
Keep going for that sympathy. Hopefully, it works for ya'…but, you won't get any from me.
Re: Anonymous – So why not use the government services? It may not be a pent-house suite, but its something…and you wont die and its free.
Being that I am from Lake Charles (which was hit by Rita in 2005 but no one hears about) we are about 60 miles from Galveston, which was ground zero from Ike….I could not agree with her more. When you see the 75 air conditioned coach buses lined up from anyone who could not afford to leave, there is no damn reason for anyone to stay during a hurricane. I have lived here all my life and know for damn sure to get the hell outta here when I am told. They tell us to leave for a good damn reason!!!! When they tell us to leave, they know they are telling business owners to leave and they wouldnt do that unless competely necessary. If your dumb ass stays here you should know that your chances of surviving are slim to none…during the hurricane, law enforcement are not allowed to leave their stations because they are not going to put their lives in danger by going out there….you should leave when they tell you to leave dumbass idiots
I agree with her, isnt this why they issue an emergency evacuation to make sure we to have to send in the rescue team. If your willing to risk someone elses life just so that you do have the inconvenience of leaving your stuff, then you should have to pay the bill.
I kind of have to agree with her. When people ignore the warnings they pay the price. It's not a big freaking hoorah, it's a hurricane that could potentially kill you or atleast put you in a lot of harm. If you're stupid enough to stay you pay the price. I love my possesions as much as the next person, but I love my life and my childrens lives a little more.
As I don't like Adrianne Curry much, I do have to agree with her…..as much as it bothers me to say.
Of course you all agree with this trashy cow! It was Texas after all..that's where George Bush comes from and thus everyone there deserves to die! Everyone who chose to stay put for Katrina was a poor underprivileged minority who didn't have the means or the knowledge to evacuate, but the victims of Ike were all dumb rednecks who deserved what they got. Three cheers for celebrities as tools of the liberal media!
Sorry, I hate to say it, but I agree…
Re: legalcandy – Then why have upwards of 2000 of them needed rescuing if they were told to evacuate?
I'm in houston right now, we weren't in the evacuation zone. we're going to be without power for a longgggg time lol (thank god for generators) but I DO AGREE. those people who were TOLD TO GET OUT - SHOULD OF GOT OUT. no they shouldn't of died, but i don't think OTHERS should of risked their own lives to go get the idiots who didn't GTFO - they were giving DAYS notice, not a few hours. (especially the ones who got "stranded" on bolivar peninsula. you wern't STRANDED, THEY TOLD YOU what time the ferry was going to close and you refused to abide by that. its your OWN FAULT)
Re: allahsin – Clearly you don't understand the argument.
she is right. i said the same thing to my husband. by not leaving after such warnings you put other people at jeapordy to save your ass.
I agree.
everyone in louisiana is thinking what she said out loud! thanks for that!
Re: Jennifer Garza –
maybe your family should have left. Truth hurts. I'm sorry you're scared, but next time when they tell your family to go, they should heed the warning.
I agree with her… it's about time the U.S. quits paying for people's mistakes and stupidity. Enough with the over the top aid…. put caps on welfare, etc. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! My pockets aren't deep enough to keep paying for people's ridiculous behavior. I've got my own problems to worry about without having to worry about yours too when they could have been avoided to some extent.
I can see her point and for the most part agree with her. But, I can also see why some people would be afraid to evacuate as well. If you don't have family with whom you can stay in case of an evacuation, you end up staying in a shelter type situation and who knows what that's going to be like. I remember all the horror stories that came out of new orleans about the people who stayed at the super dome. There were deaths, rape, and who knows what else.
I'm not saying they were right for staying, because they weren't. I just understand their reservations.
Re: Anonymous – You're an idiot…the site moderators don't screen every post. Its run through a filter…looking for known innapropriate words. You are a dip.
I think she's being completely honest! I agree.
Totally agree with her. Did you see the guy on the weather channel that said he stayed because he wanted to surf the next day? :-0
I'd be the first one out of there if that were me. No messing around with Mother Nature.
Normally, I find Adrienne to be very irritating and stupid, but on this one, she has a valid point. Unless they had a valid reason to stay in the area (i.e. medical issues that prevented them from travelling), then they should have to pay for their rescue. Case in point, drunken idiots who stayed in Galveston to have "hurricane parties".
