Hurricane Victims pay for their own rescues?
Current mood: aggravated
I am sorry, but I believe all these people should have to pay the bill for their individual rescues! When they issue a "certain death" warning and you are fucking dumb enough to stay, you do not deserve free aid. I watched people being interviewed on the news claiming they bought a bunch of beer and BBQ to sit through the storm. I bet these same people are crying for help as I type. This is fucking stupid! Why should we have to foot a dime for these dumbasses that ignored these warnings?
FREE transportaion was provided, many buses left half empty. FREE shelters were provided, many not filled up. People value MONEY and POSESSIONS more than their own lives? IDIOTS!
I feel like we reward stupidity in this country, and this is the perfect example of it. What do you guys think?
edited note:: I never said they should DIE, I said if they value their MONEY and POSSESSIONS more thn their own LIVES they should have to pay for endangering the lives of rescue workers, and sucking up more money this government DOESN'T have. someone claimed they didnt want to lose their job…I wasn't aware the bank was open that day!"
What do U think about what Adrienne has to say?????

I completely agree with her actually!
SHE'S ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!!
If there is a 100% chance it's coming your way, you SHOULD have to pay for your own rescue! You were given plenty of time to leave. It's no one elses fault that your stranded but your own. Plus if you have kids I think you should be charged with child abuse because you endangered your childs life as well.
To all those that did get out when requested, I wish you nothing but the best and hope you are able to get back to a somewhat normal life as quickly as possible.
I completely agree with her 110%
Have to say I agree with her: why have traffic lights if you're going to ignore all the signs anyway?
She is so right!!!! THe warnings were "LEAVE OR FACE CERTAIN DEATH"!!!!
I agree with her 100% . dumbfucks stay they deserve what they get
I agree for the most part, but I think that people may have stayed for different reasons and I hate to judge the ones who stayed as a whole. I will say that the ones that could have left, had the means to leave and just said "fuck it" and stocked up on their beer, they SHOULD have to pay. Without knowing all of the circumstances, you just can't judge them all together.
i agree she has a point i was saying the same thing when this was on the news
I ABSOLUTELY AGREE.
shes got a point…
SPOT ON GIRL !!
I have no idea who Adrienne Curry is; however she is definitely right. We shouldn't have to pay for peoples ignorance. It's just as bad as someone intentionally setting their own house on fire and we are stuck with the bill. For all the people who think otherwise, you should learn to take care of yourself. It is not the Government's job to run our lives, it's your own DAMN JOB!!! So, quit making excuses and get your shit done.
I TOLD YOU, IF YOU VOTE FOR SARAH PALIN NONE OF THIS WOULD HAPPEN. SHE WOULD JUST GET ON THE HORN TO GAWD AND HE WOULD ONLY PUNISH DEM QUEER FOLK AND ABORTIONISTS!!
Yup I agree they were warned my Tax paying dollars should be spend on saving stupidity.
i agree with her. the gov't doesn't have this money to save these stupid texans. of coure they WOULD because of Bush.
they could have warned New Orleans about katrina but no, people had to die.
but OH NO, NOT TEXAS!!! "let's get everyone in there and waste every last penny to save them!"
fucking morons. [bush, and texans all together]
Re: Lene – First, have some respect for yourself and refrain from the "F" word. Second, people need to start learning to rely on themselves and take responsibility for their own actions. Those people who stuck around should have taken heed to the warnings and free transportation and shelter. I highly suggest you should grow up and quit making excuses for those who want the Gov't to take care of them instead of taking care of themselves.
Let's get 'natural disasters' into perspective, shall we?
I was born, raised and lived entirely in the Midwest. We may not get hurricanes…but, we get forest fires, tornadoes and MASSIVE Winter storms.
My brother, and his family, live in California…where the wildfires came DANGEROUSLY close (and, he had just bought a brand new home (4 bathrooms, 6 bedrooms, a refrigerator that cost $5G (it has an alarm built-in, just so you know), $20k for livingroom furniture (and, that only involves the sofa and loveseat) etc. etc., etc.). My 2 sisters and my parents reside in the upper Illinois area, where flooding is predominant (my parents' backyard is comprised of the Chain O'Lakes) …and, I live in the central Wisconsin area, where wildfires, floods, tornadoes and drought are prevalent.
Gotta love (and, feel sorry for) those who think that the disasters, that happen only in THEIR area are relevant.
I couldn't agree more!!! If these people were stupid enough to defy an order to leave then they should be finacially responsible for their rescue. I know some people stayed because they didn't want their homes looted, which is understandable BUT I think a human life is more valuable then things in a home which can be replaced. I don't always agree with things she says, but in this case she hit the nail on the head!
THIS IS FOR ADRIANNE: Shut the Fuck UP! Do you actually live down here? Do you actually know what was happening down here besides what you saw on your TV as you sat on your lazy ass and watched from your Hollywood house you have because you're a golddigger? I can watch the local news down here and know that the actual people that needed rescuing weren't the people in the mandatory evacuation zones. Oh, and did you happen to see that there was mass flooding in other states too, even in Chicago! Yeah, I saw people getting rescued there too. Are you somehow going to post some bullshit about how it was their fault too? Hope a fucking wildfire comes along and devours you and your Cali home. Keep to blogging about pot and being a VH1 hasbeen.
lol where were all of you rebellious free thinkers during Katrina when half of New Orleans chose to stick around? You were so generous and understanding then because you were afraid of sounding prejudiced, but now that we're talking about the state full of white people that the nation hates (for no legitimate reason at all), then they all deserved to be killed. Are you all so honest and fair?
spot on
Re: Anonymous – yeah, because of the LAWS passed by the people in office, not by hurricanes. Only thing affected by Katrina and Ike were gas prices. Insurance costs had been on the rise for years before Katrina, yet you didn't have a convenient little excuse then to pin it on. Stop whining and actually look up the legislation. If more ignorant fucks like you would actually pass attention to your local, state, and federal elections and laws we could have actually prevented the costs from going up. When you go into that voter's booth, those little amendments and votes at the bottom are JUST as important as the top slots for President/Vice President/Senator!
Re: chaztastic – #384 post…I am not entirely sure which 'anonymous' comment you are responding to. Please clarify. Thank you.
Truth Hurts
I agree with her 100%.!!!!!!! That is the same exact thing we said!!! These idiots were told to leave, they were given free rides/shelters etc… but instead they stay…hmm maybe so they can loot and then try to screw us all on more FEMA money. You were told to leave..plain and simple..now you want us to save you…and I loved what the powers that be said…fuck you..ride it out-you were given every oppurtunity to leave and you didn't and we are not risking our lives to pull your dumb redneck ass out. And I can say this because I lived in Galveston at one time, as well as throughout all Southern Texas-and when there was a hurricane..we left. I would think people are tired of paying for these people that suck the life out the system with their stupidity..hey maybe they can buy porn and tattoos like some of the victims from Katrina did with their FEMA money….
She is completely RIGHT! I live in Houston and those people are STUPID! They should have LEFT!!!! Complete morons.. they should pay for their rescues!
Re: Anonymous – Too bad you haven't heard the certain death warning before. It was issued to the fabulous residents of New Orleans before Katrina hit, I think i should get my money back from the cost of rescuing them. You should be trying to get your money back too since thats your outlook on this situation as well.
WHAT A FUCKTARD TWAT, LESS THAN HUMAN, LITTLE PIECE DINGLEBERRY SHUT YOUR HOLE INGNORANT……LET ME GUESS ALL OF YOU THAT AGREE WITH HER LIVE IN PLACES WHERE YOU NEVER DEALT WITH HURRICANE EVACUATONS, AND SOME TIMES TURN TO BE FALSE ALARMS…I LIVE IN MIAMI , SO I KNOW …MUST PLACES DO NOT ALLOW YOU TO TAKE YOUR PETS OR ANYTHING LESS THAN JUST A BLANKET…PUT YOUR SELVES IIN SOME ONE ELSES SHOOES..FOR ONCE.
she has a point but she should word it a bit better, she sounds like a dumbass.
Re: sether – we'll make sure not to come in and rescue your ass or help re-build your home when another katrina comes through and rips y'all to pieces….again.
Yes…she is correct. The government has to stall plans to rebuild the city to go and rescue these idiots that ignored evacuation requests. Next time they should just handcuff them like they said they didn't do and put them on a bus to a shelter!
Re: Jennifer Garza –
"FUCK HER! Dude, I was a fan of her, but now I'm not anymore! My entire family lives in Houston and had to go thru this fucking mess and for her to say shit like this makes me sick! She has NO remorse for anything! Right this moment, my family is sitting in the dark with NO water or electricity. I can't even communicate with them and I'm scared something has happened to them. FUCK ADRIENNE CURRY! She can kiss my ASS!"
Then why didn't your family come and stay with you? They had the warning and the time to leave.
I hate to say it, but i kind of agree with her, these poor people were warned and if they didn't heed the warning then it's kind of thier fault. I have family that had to evacuate and i do hope that everyone that stayed behind is safe, but they were warned…
I hate to say it, but I have to agree. I've lived on the Gulf Coast for a LONG time now, and it's obvious to most that when a hurricane is heading toward you, you need to leave. It's not like you don't have warning. People need to learn about taking responsibility for their own actions.
I can't believe this.. but i actually Agree with her!!! OMG! Red letter day!
I agree 100% - and I felt the same way 2 years ago when the morons stayed in New Orleans. Why should taxpayers help out idiots who can't figure out this is a way of thinning the herd? Survival of the fittest, and if you're too dumb to survive then you need to pay the bill!!!!
Who is she?
Re: kady – First of all fuck off, you're stupid if you think they didnt warn people in NO to get out. The certain death warning was issued to them as well. You think they had no idea this storm was coming? Sure, they were just sitting around and all of a sudden this massive hurricane came and killed them all. Then we didnt do anything to help them out after that right? Nothing at all huh? I'll love the day when your house/life is sitting in ruins because of whatever natural phenomenon came your way and you'll be bitching because your life is destroyed and no one is helping you out cause it should be every man for himself, right?
while i don't think they should have to pay for their rescues, people were told to evacuate.
I AGREE 100% WITH ADRIANNE…..AND TO LET EVERYONE KNOW SHE IS THE VERY 1ST WINNER OF AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL…….I LOVE HER FOR BEING SO BOLD AND HONEST!
Re: mandap23 –
No kidding. If the new rule is that we only give aid to people who are victims by no fault of their own, I want a refund of all of my tax dollars spent on Katrina. There were plenty of buses there too but the citizens of New Orleans stuck around just to try to steal from each other and to get a chance to loot. At least the Texans who stayed did so to protect their own property and not to steal from others.
U MUST BE FROM TEXAS! I THINK SOMEONE IS HATER!
I think she's kind of right. If they were given proper warnings and told there was a great risk of death and they didn't leave they should have to pay to be rescued. Did Katrina not teach these people anything? And she's right about the government not having the funds for things like these, in the end these people will complain about taxes being increased but hey! it'll be their fault. It also baffles me why anyone would want to live in an area hit by hurricanes, I don't think it would be very fun having to repair damages done to my home every year…..
I think that for emergency rescue - there should be a fee charged.
I'm sorry, but I have to agree on this one! When you see on the news how bad it is projected to be. When your told for days to please pack up & get out. When your offered transportation, food, and shelter. I'm sorry, but you should have to pay for your rescue when people have to risk their lives to save you!!! I'm seriously baffled at how many did not leave. I understand sometimes the weather is wrong, but this one was a sure on bet. There was absolutely NO reason for such stupidity!!!
I don't see anything wrong with what she said….when you stay in your house when there is a mandatory evacuation you are staying at your own risk. Why should others risk their lives for them when they didn't care enough about themselves to leave. I live in S. Fl and hurricanes and if anything stronger than a Cat 3 was coming our way our ass would be gettin out of Fl.
"endangering the lives of rescue workers" Well she does have a point! Rescue workers *have* been killed at times while rescuing stupid selfish people that put themselves in harm's way
I don't think it's fair to the families of those rescuers who have died while trying to help someone.
I agree with the girl. Many people had to risk their lives to search and rescue these idiots. Why should firemen, police, national guard and others have to go into dangerous situations when these so called victims were told for a week to leave. For those that don't know, that flood water is full of bacteria, sewer waste (think poo and pee), chemicals, snakes, rats and so forth. Anyone who thinks rescue workers should take unncessary risks for people who do not listen. These rescue workers can loose their lives, limbs and have other injuries, they have families to support and love.
I actually agree with her on the fact that those people made an awful decision to stay
I am from Texas and have family near areas that were damaged. There are people who needed rescuing that were not given warnings to evacuate from those areas. I dont think that everyone who needed and needs rescuing should be looked down upon for not leaving. The storm looked a lot like Rita (except larger in diameter) which came through Texas in '05. People were urged to leave then too and the storm ended up not doing much damage. I am sure many felt the same would happen with Ike. For the person who supposedly didnt want to leave because they didnt want to lose their job, it is understandable if you are or have been a blue collar worker you would understand. If the storm had not done much damage and then work places were opened back up the day after or today, and that person did not show up because they were trying to get back or stuck in another city, they probably would have faced some tough times back at work. Of course someone who sits around and gets paid to be followed around with a camera would not understand that.
I am not sure which shelters are half empty or were half empty because here in many places the shelters were so over filled that people had to stay and are still in many middle school and high school gyms.
unless you were living through it, i dont think you should have a right to say what another person should or should not have done in that situation
I completely agree.
I agree. I wouldn't have said it as harshly - but I agree w/ her point.
It is horrible to say that, even though she chose a rather rude way to say it… I kind of agree with her????
ok I NEVER leave comments, but I had to respond to this, espcially when people are ignorant enough to agree with her. I love in Texas and the hurricane was supposed to hit somewhere completley different then where it did hit! Instead of people paying to be evacuated, maybe the city should have paid for the seawalls to be properly maintained which they were not, sand was built up and water went over going further into Houston then what it should have. People that did not leave did not know they were in danger, and people that did know they were danger should still not have to pay for heir rescues. People have NO clue what it is like, maybe people should start paying for their ignorance!!
shes sooooo right!!!!!!!
100% agree!!!! Our country rewards stupidity and victimhood. If you have the means to get out knowing that you are in the line of danger but don't… you are stupid…. don't go playing victim when you were forewarned! Traffic and inconvenience is NOT an excuse.
I completely agree with what she said. Learn or burn.
I totally agree… If you're too stupid or stubborn to leave when they tell you GET OUT OR YOU EASILY COULD BE KILLED, then fucking get out or don't complain when your life is in shambles. I get it, they didn't wanna leave, it's their home, they have lives there- SO DID ALL THE PEOPLE WHO WERE SMART ENOUGH TO GET ON THE BUSES PROVIDED FOR THEM. It's so annoying that they want everyone to fucking help them when they wouldn't do shit to get themselves out of it. Is it incredibly unfortunate that Ike hit Texas and caused so much damage. My heart goes out to anyone affected- but I can't understand people who beg for help when they wouldn't help themselves in the first place!
people don't realize exactly how scary and dangerous it is until its too late.. thats why they don't leave. they think they're invincible
I actually agree with her! Scary enough this is not the first time.
Re: kimmyW – I don't recall making any derogatory remark, that might have warranted the comment that you made to me (post #423). Normally, I would hope that a respondent was proud of their verbage….but, you have nothing to be proud of. I don't recall tying to 'pin an excuse upon' anyone, or even whining, as you stated in your response.
I have spent years donating to the Southern region…but, I thank you. You have saved me LOADS of money. I REFUSE to donate anymore of my time and/or money to a region that doesn't appreciate it.
Good work…IDIOT.
I think the should be a free seat on a bus for anyone who needs to evacuate and can't get out on their own. Those who won't leave, even though you're offering them (and their pets) a way out, should be fined.
I'm sick if that crap. Were I live (mid Mississippi River valley) flooding is almost an annual event, but people continue to build on flood planes and I get so angry. There's an area in Missouri that was SEVERELY flooded in 93, but they built a new levy (because we all know how well those work) and now there's a brand new shopping center there complete with restaurants and high-end shops.
I 100% agree. I completely agree. The dumb-asses that stayed should pay the rescue people for putting their lives at risk. Don't even get me started on how dumb these people who stay are. They are selfish morons. Oh, Boo Hoo, "I wanted to be a stubborn asshole and didn't want to leave, but NOW my house is filling up with water and NOW…you need to come risk your lives to help me!!!!" "Hurry…Help….I need my life saved. I couldn't leave on the freakin FREE bus that was provided and couldn't go the the freakin FREE shelter provided and didn't want to believe the head of fucking Homeland Security (and everyone else in authority) that this was a fucking "LIFE THREATENING SITUATION!!! Oh, No, couldn't follow their orders…Now you must came save me because the water has risen to my attic and I'm about to die. What??? Rescue can't come??? HUH??? Oh, because they won't risk their own life to save my sorry, stupid life." Boo Hoo. I don't feel sorry for them IN THE LEAST!! The only ones I feel sorry for is their pets who had no choice in the matter. The people should be left to face the consequenes. Period. End of Story.
even tho i dislike her i would have to agree on this one. if i heard that i had to evacuate and all those resources were provided 4 free i would get watever i could and get the f**k outta there! i wouldnt stay and risk dying. if my things get destroyed oh well my life is more important than anything.
I have lived in Houston 20 out of the 25 yrs of my life and I agree with her 100%! She is actually saying what me and my entire family were saying as we watched the news waiting for the storm to hit. The officials were not playing around when they said "get out or face certain death!". I saw people with their tiny kids out by the water watching the storm roll in knowing their homes could be feet under water by the next day. There was no reason for these people to ride out the storm at home. Alot of people who stayed said they didn't want to go through another Rita like evacuation and the storm not hit. Well this time the roads weren't as bad and you could still get gas…. and the storm did hit so it was in no way like Rita. Not every storm is the same and thats something any coastal Texan should know.
i completely agree with her and so does my mom who's a part of the ARMOC (which is a group of hospitals in the state of texas who come together to make sure every one is aware and on emergency stand by) those people were given a clear message to evacuate the vicinity. not only that but it was a MANDATORY EVACUATION. people dumb enough to not heed the warnings should pay out of pocket for rescue operations. those rescue workers are risking their own lives as well… hey here in the state of texas if you get into a car accident and need the jaws of life to get you out you have to pay for that rescue service…. i think someone repelling out of a helicopter risking their own lives to save your dumb ass for not leaving when you were told. well you should pay too
I'm from Galveston (currently in Austin) and I have to agree with Adrianne. We were told to leave in plenty of time. It was a mandatory evacuation, not voluntary. By defying that order and staying, they are putting others' lives at risk. If you couldn't afford to leave or had nowhere to go, they offered to take you to free shelters. And for undocumented residents, there were no ID checks at shelters or at the checkpoints on the highways. The government made this clear. We are going to need all the money and resources we can get to rebuild our town, and we shouldn't be wasting it on people stupid enough to stay.
k i'm just curious as to why these people say anything at all sometimes. esp adrianne curry… who the fuck is she again? oh yeah; an unsuccesful "winner" of america's next top model … stick to modeling hunny. do you have any credentials to be giving your opinon about anything to the public? wtf..
I can't stand this chick, but I gotta agree with her here. It's one thing if there's an emergency with no forewarning like an earthquake, but there were warnings days ahead of time for Ike. No excuses!
BITCH is what i think.
Re: mandap23 – No worries, mandap23. You never have to wonder if I will ever contribute to your region, again. I won't. I give up…and, I don't care.
I will take all of the extra money, that I normally contribute to causes, to further my kids' education and inheritance. He thanks you, by the way.
Can't say I disagree with her. When you refuse to leave despite warnings and free transportation, it's your problem, not theirs. They shouldn't have to shell even more money to rescue you when what they said could happen, actually happens!
"I feel like we reward stupidity in this country"
….coming from the horses mouth.
Re: Anonymous – Good Lord, Do you think anyone gives a DAMN about your brother's freakin house?!?! God - get off it - I can't stand "braggy" people like yourself. If I met you, I'd hate you instantly I bet, just based on the little personality I read in your post. Your entire post was just to write about your brother's $5K fridge, etc.. Newsflash-NOBODY BUT YOU AND YOUR SNOOTY FAMILY CARE!
Why is what she saying so wrong?? I lived in FL for a long time. We get complacent about the hurricanes.
In 2004, we were hit with two hurricanes.
I never left.
When the first one that was supposed to hit us, we were warned to evacuate. I stayed. I watched thsi damn thing on the internet via natl hurricane site. approx 11:30pm, you could hear the winds really kick up, and I looked outside. The trees were BENDING.
Instead, it turned last minute and hit ft myers.
The second one hit us and it wasn't bad. But the last one started ripping off my apartrment building roof, water coming in all over, tree through my window, and the water blew transformers.
This thing was almost a Cat 2 which is nothing.
I was truly scared with the last one. It sat all day and scared the hell out of me.
Now we're endangering OTHER people such as officers, firefighters, etc to rescue these people. I run a police memorial and these people have to lay their lives on the line for dumbass selfish people.
she's kinda right. plus, i hate bailing out states that continually build in disaster zones.
In a weird since, I agree with her. Why should tax payers continue to pay for these idiots to live in place where disaster happen? Why should every night we have to see some heart-felt news coverage about these wackos talking about rebuilding for the 3rd time. A lot of these people aren't too bright. It would also be just like living near an active volcano that's about to blow. Like having sex with no protection and you get an STD or AIDs, knowing that you need protection in this day and age. Should we all be responsible for what retards do? Hell No!
I agree with some of her statement. These people were given a warning and chose not to listen. Of course we have to help them and should try our best to save them, however they should accept their irrespondsiblility and be forced to speak out about how ridiculous it was for them to not listen to warning.
Sadly, she is kinda right….
Re: kimmyW – Oh, dear…I wish that I would have viewed your profile before I made my last comment. Your profile explains SO much about the immaturity in your last comment towards me. One of your favorite celebrities is Harry Potter, huh?!? Hmmm…and, here I thought that he was a character, and not a celebrity. Silly me.
Re: blonde210 – hmm, that doesn't make sense. it was all over the news here in seattle and they said exactly where the hurricane was going to hit. i have friends in houston and galveston who knew exactly where the hurricane was going to hit (they evacuated). so, apparently you might want to give a call to the news station in your area and ask them why they "didn't warn you"
I also agree with everything she said. Looks like you're the only one who doesn't!
If you're told to leave, and you don't. Then money has to be spent to save your ass - the bill should arrive in the mail.
OMG shes such a dumbass like somtimes we hav to save ppl 4rm themsevles but some ppl worked hard to get the stuff they hav and they dont need random z- list celebs. calling them stupid!!
I have to agree with her though I don't really like her. They were offered free services that they chose not to use. So why do we have to pay more to help them out? I am a Democrat and to some I am called a bleeding heart. but this is ridiculous….
I'm from the area that was mandatory evacuated, unfortunately, I had to stay because i work as a nurse in the neonatal unit. Our "housing" that we were put in by the "state" was not strong enough to outlast the winds and we had to be rescued. There should always be exceptions to bold opinions such as these….
Re: Renfamous – The reason why people (myself included) are not as understanding and compassionate with evacuations and victims of hurricanes SINCE Katrina is: because people SHOULD have learned from Katrina. That's why. The people in New Orleans should have left - obviously - but NOW, seeing what HAPPENED with Katrina in New Orleans - PEOPLE SHOULD DEFINATELY HAVE THE SENSE TO LEAVE!!! They see and remember what happened to Katrina victims and now KNOW better. After seeing people suffering after Katrina, you would be a COMPLETE DUMB-ASS to stay and try to ride it out. In all honesty, I thought the Katrina victioms would refused to leave were stupid dumb-asses as well and had more compassion for the animals left behind. However, I did give you the explanation that while Katrina victims kinda got a pass from much of the country, people feel now that everyone should have learned a very valuable lesson about listening to authorities and leaving before the storm hits…there is NO excuse now because they have SEEN first-hand what will happen if you stay at home - and you're a complete dumb-ass if you STILL think it won't happen to you!!!! Sorry, people in Galveston, but I don't feel sorry for you if you tried to ride it out. (I do feel sorry for pets, though!)
i think to say "all should have left" is right but too simple - some people just can't. not because they are sick, or anything, but because their home is all they have and they desperately care for it. even if the home is a mess - they hope that this place will keep them safe as it always did. i wouldn't like to leave my home either - but, in fact - i have never been in such a situation, so i can't tell.
basically she is right, but she should think about some things
Wow—now this pisses me off!!! As a resident in HOUSTON TEXAS where Ike struck, couldn't this b!tch concern herself with us instead of going on a rampage? Well, I guess it's safe to say that's one person who won't roll up her sleeves to help… Hey Ms Curry—why don't you come here to see how devistated our city is before you find reaon to b!tch about something so stupid! I bet you have a few items you'd refuse to leave behind.. I mean, didn't you go onto Tyra's Model show to make something of yourself, to gain your own material possessions? Wait, who the hell are you again? Has been! Get a f*cking life!
She went too far. They might be stupid, but they don't deserve to die [although i'd sure like some of the customers at work to meet their untimely demises]. Someone should just ridicule these "dumb" people by populating a list with their names and numbers and posting it somewhere in public, so they can be humiliated for their stupidity. I think it's tantamount to yelling out "ma'am, if you READ this coupon you'd know that it is NOT a free ticket" at the box office [where I work], so why not?
Well you know what first of all I can't stand this bitch…….. Next I agree that all those people DESERVED what ever they got up to and including DEATH. They were properly warned. I just dont understand why they did not LISTEN.
DUMB ASS !!!!!!!!!!!
Listen UP DUMBASS: not everyone can clear out of harms way because gov't officials decide 4 hours before the hurricane lands that everyone in Houston needs to disregard the previous statements and all of the sudden evacuate on the same roadways millions of others are on and find a safe place to stay!
and with the exception of a few people who purposely stayed behind in Galveston and Crystal beach; cops, firefighters, and EMS who are afraid of injury or risking their lives to save others maybe should consider another profession.
And anonymous, I suggest volunteering a homeless shelter and giving back to the community and visiting a third world country. You do not know how good you have it.
what a total idiot. This bimbo will say anything to extend her 15 minutes…Adrianne get a life and a clue and SHUT UP.
As someone living in South Louisiana who has been through several hurricanes, I have mixed feelings about her comments. On one hand, I feel that they should have definitely heeded the warnings. On the other hand, I feel that the same warnings were given to Hurricane Katrina victims who did not evacuate, and if these comments had been made about those people, they would have been considered racist. I would just like to know why Kanye isn't on national television talking about George Bush hating people in Texas. Bottom line- the people who failed to evacuate each hurricane should be treated equally; if the government spent billions on Katrina, it should do the same for Ike.
Don't have to like the woman, but she has a valid point. Its not said elegantly, sure, but its all true. They were warned, they know the worst that can happen and they chose to say and now these Men and Women have to RISK their lives to save their dumb arses and they should have to pay for that.
This chick needs to just GO AWAY! Ugh..
A GOOD POST IN RESPONSE TO ADRIANNES PATHETIC BLOG!
This is beyond disgusting. Having to sit here and listen to you people who have only seen hurricanes on TV and have ABSOLUTELY zero concept of what this all involves. Yeah, on paper it looks good but you all obviously have no idea of what going through this routine is like. My family lives in SE TX (which got hit) and my sister AND dad told me it was a total nightmare and NO ONE I will repeat NO ONE that we knew who needed these magical buses could find any and yes, they looked. My sisters elderly neighbor was the only person we knew that had heard they would be at the civic center and guess what, there were NO buses.
When you live in these towns the damn hurricane evacuations happen yearly and sometimes several times. Every time out you spend all your money, sit in traffic for 20 hours, it ends up not even hitting even when they said it had a DEFINITE chance (like 99% of the damn time) and you get back to your newly broken into home a few days later, minus some possessions. It was only one or two weeks ago that they were evacuated for Hannah, which was a total dud. That is almost always how it happens. It does not surprise me that people could not leave for several reasons, but of course I have a conscious and a heart.
PART TWO FOLLOWS THIS POST
I actually agree with most of what she says!!! When you are told that this huige hurricane is coming and that you must evacuate the area and you choose NOT to go, then when the rescue aid has to come save your sorry ass, you should have to pay for their services. They are jeopardizing their lives and safety to save yours because you didn't heed the warnings. For once she is ranting about something that makes sense!!!
agree
Re: MiamiDolphinLover – I didn't ask you to care about a $5k fridge, did I? I was just trying to make a point….in that my brothers new home was in the path of a massive wildfire in California, this past Spring.
How unfortunate that you wouldn't/couldn't distinguish the difference….or read my ENTIRE comment, before you made a rash judgment, about me.
You can call me, and my family, 'snooty' and 'braggy', all that you'd like. BTW…'braggy' is NOT a word. If you want to appear better educated, than I, break out the dictionary and/or thesaurus. It would do you a world of good. Be that as it may…..your opinion just doesn't matter.
PART TWO
The stupidest part is how if someone could not afford to leave (and don't give the "oh they had free buses that drove right up to your bed and personally carried you on board and fed you marsh mallows and hot chocolate as they comfortably drove you to safety LOL" crap because I know it wasn't as easy as you seem to think it was) then how is it fair to make them pay for their own rescue if they were broke in the first place, which is a definite reason for not being able to go. What do you want them to do, get off the roof and stay inside their flooded house because you don't want to pay your (LAUGH) "hard earned" tax dollars? Yes, I know rescuing a poor person from the ruins that was once their only home will break your piggy bank and you can't jet out to that newest reality show.
Yeah, it sure sucks about ALL THAT tax payed money you will surely miss that goes to helping people at a disadvantage for various reasons. Forget that they are now homeless, if they only would have driven or gotten a ride hours and hours away only to have to find a ride back to find that their house no longer exists and they are homeless, THEN everything would be alright and Adrianna Curry and her awesome fans would still have all that hard earned money they hated to pay into taxes.
