Adrianne Curry's "Controversial" Comments About Hurricane Ike

Here's something to chew on!

Adrianne Curry just posted the following on her official blog:

"September 14, 2008 - Sunday

Hurricane Victims pay for their own rescues?
Current mood: aggravated

I am sorry, but I believe all these people should have to pay the bill for their individual rescues! When they issue a "certain death" warning and you are fucking dumb enough to stay, you do not deserve free aid. I watched people being interviewed on the news claiming they bought a bunch of beer and BBQ to sit through the storm. I bet these same people are crying for help as I type. This is fucking stupid! Why should we have to foot a dime for these dumbasses that ignored these warnings?

FREE transportaion was provided, many buses left half empty. FREE shelters were provided, many not filled up. People value MONEY and POSESSIONS more than their own lives? IDIOTS!

I feel like we reward stupidity in this country, and this is the perfect example of it. What do you guys think?

edited note:: I never said they should DIE, I said if they value their MONEY and POSSESSIONS more thn their own LIVES they should have to pay for endangering the lives of rescue workers, and sucking up more money this government DOESN'T have. someone claimed they didnt want to lose their job…I wasn't aware the bank was open that day!"

What do U think about what Adrienne has to say?????

Re: hearay1010 – For the record: my parent’s own and have insurance on their house in Memorial in Houston Texas. The house had extensive damage from Ike. They are aware of Houston’s location and have extra generators and supplies for these situation and are SELF-SUPPORTING. They are well-off and don’t expect, need, or want a fucking handout. Seriously, but they believe in helping those less fortunate.

Today, my parents are back in Houston removing branches that have piled on the streets, passing out food that they brought back from Dallas in coolers to local rescuers, took in two stray dogs that wandered into our backyard looking for food, and donated money to Star of Hope in Downtown. They have a heart. And love Houston. Many lost their homes, still don't have electricity, and are without food or gas. This negative attitude displayed on this website discourages me. Those who decided to stay behind does not reflect ALL TEXANS. Have compassion for life people. Even the ones who make mistakes.

I'm from S.Louisiana.I survived Gustav. In B.R. not told to leave.Everyone evacuated 2 here. We were told to have UP to 3 days of supplies. The news was all over N.O.We were in the clear.Where was the hardest hit? That would be like paying a teacher if your child passes a test!I love the ppl who live all over and know nothing about evacuating. You cant get off of work unless it is mandatory.U WILL get fired n by that time the interstates r jammed n u r stuck.U will run out of gas.U cant bring ur animals to shelters. They dont prescreen who they let n.There could b a child molester sleepin next 2ur son or daughter. Then small business begin to open and if you work there they expect you there! Sorry. There are SOME ppl who NEED Their jobs, and dont have opportunity after opportunity fall into their laps.N ANY 1 WHO THINKS THAT IT ISNT A PAIN TO EVACUATE W/ PETS AND CHILDREN MORE THAN WELCOME 2 SEE WHAT IT'S REALLY LIKE AND NOT JUST WHAT THE MEDIA CHOOSES TO LET YOU SEE!Guess ya didntknow about all the rapes that happened in the Superdome, or the tourists getting robbed there?Or the ppl that were eaten alive by alligators there? No?I know cuz my sister lives in ATL didnt know either.Only locals.SO everyone it's alot easier said than done

  6. 806

shes an idiot but so are the people that stayed

  9. 809

First off, who is this bitch? She has no right to have anything to say in what happened. She didn't endure the hurricane. Fucking idiot. I think someone needs to tend to her own life and stop worrying about others'. I bet she's never even been to Texas. How does she know people, who didn't evacuate, had somewhere to go? She doesn't so if I were her I'd keep my fucking trap shut - everyone else who has a comment to say too!

  10. 810

Ok well I have something to say to that Bitch ….She was on America's Next Top Model talking about her hard life and how she wants to change…Now that she's rich and famous she wants to say that shit about hurricane Ike..She must be outta her mind. Why don't you get off your lazy butt and actually DO something about it. Some people are too scared to leave their houses and you shouldn't judge them based on that…The only reason wh your saying that is because you're rich enough to REPLACE all that shit you have..Some things are actually sentimental and MEAN something to people..Think about that you stuck up bitch…And to think; I actually liked you on ANTM…

    811

Anyone who would marry a washed up Brady Bunch star is not an authority on who should pay for people's rescues.

  12. 812

GO ADRIAN!! why should we pay for people who chose to STAY BEHIND???

  13. 813

Adrianne you so need to slow your role!!!!!!!!!!! yes everyone has there own thoughts what they feel but, thats doents make it you rule the roost.oh your poor husband what he has to deal with!!!!

  14. 814

The coast has always been a target for Hurricanes from day one, I agree that it's a quicksand area, but not giving them free aid is so stupid. For most in Galveston, that has been there home for a good portion of their lives and it's their right to stay if they choose.

    HOLD OFF THE GANJA, ADRIANNE!

  15. 815

I really wish you'd stop playing in to Adrianne Curry's hands - she's Z list at best.

  16. 816

OK I live in Friendswood TX and had mandatory evacuation. I did not leave and my house was fine I only lost a few boards on my fence. I decided to leave because I had no lights and ac. My mother who was NOT in madatory evacuation had a branch go threw her suv and a tree go threw her house. My house is 3 years old and solid brick so I knew it would be ok plus living in a newer subdivion we have no trees. You never know what is going to happen. Some people in Galveston had no money and no car. Yes they should have left but after rita everyone thought they would leave and sit in traffic for 24 hours just to be hit by it in a car. It's 50/50. We had the fiancial means to leave and get a hotel but some people don't. We still have no electricity our neighbors 2 streets away do which sucks!! I wish everyone the best

oops! hit enter too soon. what i meant to add was, obviously, you are without power, but you have an internet connection??

  19. 819

    get your fucking facts straight.

i was in Houston when the hurricane hit. we were given a choice to evacuate or not. it was voluntary. but mandatory near the texas coastline. the mayor… government.. and fema gave us all the proper warnings… advice… and precautions…

people had a choice.. and they made it…

for someone to make such an unsympathetic remark is stupidity in itself.
stick to what you know. i completely just lost respect for you.
this is why america is a divided country… due to ignorant little fucks.

  20. 820

As an Texan largely affected by Hurricane Ike, I take great offense to her even bothering to speak about a subject that she has absolutely no knowledge of, and will probably never take the time to educate herself on. I was raised in Crystal Beach, as were my parents, grandparents, and so on. Hurricanes are actually something that you learn to deal with where I am from, and they have happened years before Katrina and unfortunately they will keep happening years after this. Yes, evacuation orders were given roughly 2 days (nowhere near the week before that some sources are reporting) before the storm hit. 1 day after evacuation orders were given, people on the Bolivar Peninsula awoke to find that the early affects of the storm surge had already trapped them where they were. People who had planned on evacuating simply did not have the choice anymore. I was blessed enough that my family is safe and sound, but all of my childhood memories, the place where I grew up, and the place where my fiancee proposed to me…..everything sentimental in my life is gone. I surely understand her right to say what she said; however, I felt the need to speak on behalf of the situation. I just want America to know that, as always, there is more than one side to this story. God bless the people who VOLUNTEERED their time to save the lives that they did. And the really sad part about this is, I used to be one of the few fans Ms. Curry still had……

  21. 821

I live in houston texas….We just got power and water back today, millions still have no power from this storm. What people dont understand is where i live we where not required to evacuate. There was no MANDATORY EVACUATION where i live. Because there was no MANDATORY EVACUATION, schools didnt close and everyone had to go to work because there was no MANDATORY EVACVUATION. Yeah it is dumb some people on the coast stayed when they should have left, but no deserves to die. Just because a hurricane is coming it doesnt mean that everyone can just leave. If your town does not say that it is MANDATORY to evacuate, life goes on. You can not leave with out getting introuble from work or school. I had to stay because of school and work, and becase the city of houston did not do a MANDATORY EVASCUATION. Houston was one of the hargdest hit cities. I have a tree in my house, and a tree in my car. If i could have left, and not gotten written up at work, and not been absent from my college classes i would have gotten out. NOT EVERY ONE IS ABLE TO LEAVE!

  22. 822

    she is a douche

  23. 823

If a person's told to leave, and free transportation and shelter are provided to do so, I don't feel too awfully bad about charging them for rescue later on. They're being negligent, and unnecessarily putting those rescuers at risk.
However, I also think that anyone who builds a house knowing the lot is in a flood plain should be refused insurance. Why should everybody else have to pay for somebody's stupidity?

  24. 824

    i concur

  25. 825

As for the flood plain comment thats retarded…thats like saying oh peopel in california shouldnt be able to build homes there because they have earth quakes. If people had a way pout say in galveston etc yes they should have left. but not everyone was able to leave due to the mayor of houston not issuing mandatory evacuation. our school still has no power, and we are still going to class……

  26. 826

Re: bunsen b – your comment about the flood plain thing is dumb…..there is no place in america where anyone can build a home that is not in danger of any natural disaster….

  27. 827

let me guess…she is voting for Mccain?
Look Adrian, I get it you've got a big mouth but when you grow up you'll realize that well thought out opinions are the ones worth listening to.
People are laughing at you sweetie not with you.
Yeah those people don't deserve help but as Americans they should be graunteed it. It's kind like you. No one wants to hear you talk or read your blog but its your RIGHT, I guess so we (everyone else) just has to deal with it.
    Obama 08!

  28. 828

I live in Southern Louisiana..we took a direct hit from Gustav,we did evacuate, it damn near took all of our money to do so..a 3&1/2 hr ride took 12&1/2 hrs. That is a BIG fuel cost. Lots of people were broke down on the side of the road, just stranded..that is a BIG fear for people and sometimes so much so that they stay behind. It took us 1hr to drive 3 miles..We could not exit the interstate..nothing was open, Therefore unless you brought food you went hungry, and if you needed to use a bathroom you just had to pull over and use it on side the road with everyone being able to see. Lots of people aren't able to sustane a drive like that, therefore they choose to stay.

  29. 829

We also took a 10 ft. surge from Ike a lil' more than a week after Gustav and an estimated 15000 homes in my parish flooded..We had just got our ass kicked..we didn't have much fight left in us. We were told it would only be a 3-5 ft. surge by the weather channel..so how is it those people's fault that the water came up much higher than they were told it would. You know, here in my parish, we supply this country with 30% of it's oil..and are treated like a nuisance it seems..do all you people out there like the prices you're paying at the pumps? Well instead of criticizing us won't you pay us the respect we deserve.

  30. 830

No one wants to hear of us getting any help from anyone..but ya want to BITCH about the prices at the pumps..well if we aren't up and running, it's only going to get worse. You hear of the stories of people needing to be rescued but you don't hear of the one's who stay behind to try and get all thse plants and oil rigs back running..alot of times it's hard b/c your husband may be one of these who have to stay behind..no one can understand the stress of having to leave your loved one behind..and that is sometimes why the wife and children may stay behind. There are soo many reasons that people have to stay..no doubt some just want to say they did it..but trust me that's a rare case here where i'm from.
Natural Disasters happen everywhere..how do you want to be treated and judged when one comes your way..just remember every time you point your finger there are at least 3 pointing right back at you.
It isn't our job to judge..we're supposed to help our neighbors not cut them down.

Sorry i had to vent but i'm fed up with people who have no clue acting like know it alls.

  31. 831

i live in clear lake texas where we got hit BAD and i think its bullshit for her to say any of that! those busses and shelters were full and ppl were calling in everywhereeee to find more shelters! HOW DARE PPL say that ppl didnt try to go. maybe ppl arent informed enough!! How about that?!?! WE were told to evacuate the DAY BEFORE the storm him.. NOONE knew the impact so why not get beer when ppl THOUGHT it wasnt gonna be a big deal..

  32. 832

I TOTALLY AGREEE. i do, what the heck are these people doing STILL IN TEXAS just chilling when they OBVIOUSLY TOLD THEM TO LEAVE!

now i dont agree with the fact that Old people and children and there isnt any food, and PEOPLE DID LOSE THEIR HOMES AND THEY SHOULDNT HELP THEM

  33. 833

i agree. I'm from new orleans and after Katrina, if you live anywhere and you don't leave you are stupid! Just because you don't live in New Orleans doesn't mean that it will not happen to you too. It made me mad to hear of people being rescued off of their roofs when they were told to leave, even more so since they were given ways to leave for free and still did stayed. They said that they were staying to protect their belongings, but guess what, when your tv, and computer,….. is floating in water for a few days you nor anyone else is going to want it. That is what insurance is for. It's not worth it. Did anyone learn from watching New Orleans suffer?

  34. 834

Having lived through this hurricane, I can tell you that for many areas, mandatory evacuations were not given! Up Bolivar Peninsula and into Chambers County, they didn't have those evacuations! There are some on Galveston that had to board up 4 historical homes in the area and didn't have time to get out. Yes, they are possessions, but in many areas of Galveston, there are historical homes filled with historical items that are a value not only to the community, but to the country! This is not a time to place blame! It is a time to come together and help out your neighbor! It is a time to recover and rebuild! And, the Houston-Galveston area is important to this economy in that we are the energy capital of the world! And, a substantial contributor to the oil industry! Gas prices have risen since the storm as hundreds of refineries in the Gulf were offline. In fact, there were only 4 working ones in the days following the storm. So, stop listening to a fucking Z-list celeb that doesn't know her ass from her elbow. What the fuck does she know what the people of New Orleans, Gulf Port, Biloxi, MS, and all up and down the Gulf Coast from Conroe to Houston feel like as they face a storm! And, BTW, the report was a Cat. 2, but the winds we had in our area where Cat 3 at 130! Eerily similar to the storm of 1900. Go do something with your time and read about it instead of listening to this idiot ramble about something she knows nothing about!

  35. 835

Re: Fantabulous…I agree that many of us remember sitting Rita, and that has stayed with us as we decided what we were going to do. I sat in traffic for 38 hrs and only got 15 min. outside of College Station (from Friendswood). I saw unimaginable travesty on those highways as people ran out of gas, dead animals on the side of the road and people dying in vehicles! No one wants to go through that ever again!

And, again, mandatory evacuations weren't given for everyone!! This was a storm that people didn't even know where it was going until Thursday!! Giving little time for people to get out! Everyone needs to stop blaming and bitching and pay if forward! That's the message here!

  36. 836

excuse the fuck out of me!! what a bitch does she live some where that has hurricanes does she. i mean come on when all you have is a home and hope that maybe your entire life will be standing the next day, they have every right to stay. i am not saying their choice was smart but it was their choice and they are still human beings that held on to a glimmer of hope and for you to trash your own kind just because you don't know what it is like to be in a hurricane or watch as your life is ripped to shreds. i went threw this hurricane i live in houston i watched these people suffer and i continue to see them go through some of the most harsh times they will ever experience. get your facts straight before you bad mouth people of your own country that are suffering!

  37. 837

What about the people who had to stay? Firefighters, police? These people put their life on the line everyday. Most of them don't have homes now! I can understand that ppl were told repeatedly to leave and some couldn't bear the idea of leaving their lives behind. But not all had that choice! Its a fucking nightmare and I don't wish it on anyone!

Who the fuck is Adrianne Curry?!?!

  38. 838

Totally agree with TXgirl about the mandatory evacuations not being given to all. They totally screwed alot of ppl!
