I really cannot bite my tongue anymore when it comes to Sarah Palin.
I couldn't be more supportive of a woman in office, but let's face it, it comes down to the person, and their beliefs, male or female.
Is it a sin to be gay? Should it be a sin to be straight? Or to use birth control? Or to have sex before marriage? Or even to have a child out of wedlock?
I find it quite interesting that a woman who now is running to be second in command of the United States, only 4 years ago had aspirations to be a television anchor. Which is probably all she is qualified to be… Also interesting that she got her passport in 2006.. And that she is not fond of environmental protection considering she's FOR drilling for oil in some of our protected land…. Well hey, if she wants to drill for oil, she should DO IT IN HER OWN backyard. This really shows me her complete lack of real preparation to become the second most powerful person in this country.
Hmmmm-All of this gets me going-Fear, Anxiety, Concern, Disappointment, and Stress come into play…

I know that the most important thing about this election is that people need to exercise their right to vote, regardless of their choice… I would have liked to have remained impartial, however I am afraid that the "lipstick on a pig" comments will overshadow the issues and the fact that I believe Barack Obama is the best choice, in this election, for president…
Palin's Desire to "save and convert the gays"-really??
According to this Associated Press story, the church of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin is hosting a kind of conference devoted to the "conversion of Gays" — no kidding.

I feel it's necessary for me to clarify that I am not against Sarah Palin as a mother or woman.
Women have come a long way in the fight to have the choice over what we do with our bodies… And its frightening to see that a woman in 2008 would negate all of that.

Gay marriage isn't even an issue that the president deals with. It is a state decision along with abortions and the drinking age. If you have a problem with gay marriage not being recognized talk to your state officials about changing the state law. I'm all for gay marriage but if that is your only reason that you're voting for Obama over McCain then you shouldn't be voting. I'm pro-choice and for gay marriage but voting McCain.

They bring up good points. I hadn't heard anything about Sarah Palin being part of an effort to convert gays. It is possible that her church takes part in this, but that she never has. However, I would expect that she embraces the idea whole-heartedly, considering how good she is at covering all the appropriate Christian extremist territory. I feel that Sarah Palin might actually be more of a problem in D.C. than President Bush, and I agree with them that it is critical to the state of our nation that this woman be kept out of office. The SNL skit very intelligently pointed out that Hillary Clinton put in the hard work and learning to make a path for progress and women's equality, only for the kind of woman she does NOT feel deserves a position of power to hop right in, courtesy of John McCain and his camp. I doubt that John McCain would die in office if he were elected, and I do think he would be far less of a threat as a President than Bush or Palin. However, she has a whole field of devolution that surrounds her, which should make people very concerned about a McCain presidency. When it comes down to it, Sarah Palin seems to have simply used the skills she developed during her pageant days to manipulate people around her into giving her more and more power that she is in no position to wield for the good of this country and of this planet. Manipulation requires observation and practice far more than intelligence.

Kid Rock said it best when he said that celebrities should not try to persuade people to vote for whoever THEY like. People need to make that a personal thing and you shouldn't be persuaded by the likes of Lindsay Lohan, who isn't the most stable person in the universe. And then you have Pink Saying that Palin "scared" her. And people forget so easy! Look at Hilary Clinton, everybody forgot about Ol' Bill gettin a BJ in the oval office and using a cigar as a dildo. Everybody has issues in their family and I'm not saying that palin is the right one for the job or whatever, but a lot of people are easily persuaded by celebs. And I think that celebs should just keep it to "please vote" and that's about it.

He was 26 years old then, but his daddy pulled some strings and got him into a one-year community service program for young offenders (he was more of an old offender) but, he was "privileged" into that program for the purpose of getting his criminal record expunged on completion. The program was intended to give young offenders a chance to redeem the crimes of their youth; it was not intended as a program to get politically-connected adults out of criminal charges. It's nonsense to say that if you're not American you need to shut up about the elections. There are lots of gay couples out there, one who's foreign, one who's American, who are directly affected by how gay marriage will develop in the US. And there are lots of non-Americans out there who are more educated on these elections than you as an American are (SaMAN is definitely not one of them, though). Besides, I guess most Americans have an opinion about Nicolas Sarkozy of France or Ahmedinejad of Iran. Politics become more global, affecting those who cannot vote, too. Last time I checked, you don't need citizenship or a ballot to express your opinion. The only reason you tell her to shut up, is because she has a different political opinion.
