It's finally Sexy Sarah's first big day on her own!
Like Sadie Sandler a preschooler armed with mother's sack lunch, Palin ventured to the swing-state of Colorado on her first trip outside of her home state without McCain.
The recently selected vice presidential candidate and current governor, who can boast only limited experience outside of Alaska, was held from view while aides rushed to update her on a variety of issues.
Now remember, if ever you should falter, just remind everyone that you're a woman!!!!

Palin spoke mainly on the issues of energy, government reform, and helping families with special needs, as Palin's four-month-old son has Down Syndrome, and the crowd cheered when she declared, "too often the government is the problem" rather than the solution. Yeah, like when it restricts stem cell research, which advocates claim could be the key to unlocking treatments and cures to numerous diseases.
Sexy Sarah also claimed that Obama's proposals to raise income, payroll, investment income, business, and death taxes is "not the way you grow the economy," but independent groups such as the Tax Policy Center concluded that four out of five American households would actually receive tax breaks. She declared her support for McCain's "'above all' strategy for energy independence." In other words, drilling Alaska for all its worth.
Palin said McCain liked her idea of placing Washington's checkbook online, so "everyone can see where their money goes," just like she did in Alaska.
That’s cute, but honey, it ain't dark in Washington half the year like it is in Alaska.

Please direct me to this, I honestly haven't read it being as i was scouring the anchorage daily news and the frontiersment to learn about Palin since we know so little. As for the screwing over, McCain already did that to me by voting w/ Bush to shift the focus of the war from Afghanistan to Iraq. McCain also screwed us over w/ the Keating five debacle and he took the MOST MONEY from those lobbyists so I paint him w/ the same brush as all politicians. As I Said before, if we had to hold politicians to morals and ethics…. 99.9% of Washington would be empty

I'm sorry but you are stereotyping a myth that is disrespectful and inaccurate of the black community. Also, Clinton's welfare to work act puts all welfare receipients to work no one is sitting on their asses doing absolutely nothing, despite popular belief. Lastly there are more whites on welfare than blacks. If we go by population count, black recipients outnumber whites by a slim 1%

Sadly, our vets count as the highest overall outside of single women with children to be welfare recipients. McCain votes against Vets healthcare. AND welfare only takes out 1% of our national budget CHUMP CHANGE. What we spend a year on welfare is the equivalent of 2 months of war in Iraq.

Blacks receive 40% of welfare but overall ALL welfare recipients are required to work and if you look at Clinton's welfare to work program you'd see that. I believe I covered your point in stating they by population beat whites by 1%
The most important point was to debunk this "sitting on their asses myth of all welfare recipients" and to also show that the $ we pay into wlefare is really a drop in the bucket compared to spending we do on the wars and the fact that the money is only 1% of our nations budget.

This election is very serious and it should be treated as such. We are at a point where we stand to lose so much of our liberties and things that we take for granted in this country, but we are completely blinded by petty issues while the big picture is right before our very eyes. Sarah Palin is dangerous and we should all see her as a threat. She and McCain are trying to sell their policies to Christian believers without giving them the whole truth.
They are selective in their choice of what should be illegal based on their own values and Christian beliefs, and if so why do they choose just the issues that suit them? Republicans believe …the money you earn is yours and that government in a free society has the right to take only as much as is needed to perform those limited functions, which are appropriate to it.
…that the free enterprise system is the most effective engine of economic progress.
Democrats believe …government has a right to use your money as it sees fit to redistribute wealth, establish new spending programs in times of budget surpluses, and to return to you only that portion of your money which is politically expedient.
…that government regulation and federal control of economic activity can better distribute wealth and services to the American people.

In my world we would all pay the same percentage of our income to the government. The rich should not be punished by paying a higher percentage than everyone else. That's called redistribution of income. If YOU made the money, it should belong to YOU, not given to the guy down the street who's made irresponsible decisions his whole life. "Alaska is the only state that does not collect state sales tax or levy an individual income tax on any type of personal income, either earned or unearned. To finance state operations, Alaska depends primarily on petroleum revenues." What Does a VP Do? interview, she said, "We want to make sure that that VP slot would be a fruitful type of position, especially for Alaskans." I am not a Democrat I am Independent and I base my opinion on what I have experienced and NOT what people have told me or what I have read. My mom and dad are small business owners and did so good in the late 80's and 90's….then it ALL went DOWNHILL (and for many others I know as well) as soon as good ole George stepped in and "took over". Now they make almost no personal profit and can barely pay off the company that they buy from (farm supplies) because EVERY bit IS going to the Gov!

My neighbor does it and is starting a little gas company of his own…….and the FACT is that the Gov. does NOT want to let this happen because it is BAD for BIG BUSINESS. Just like all of the people that I know who are using ALTERNATIVE HEALTH CARE and CURING CANCER in themselves the Gov. doesn't want you to know about that either….cause there goes ALL OF THEIR DRUG MONEY!!!! I m just watching from afar (=Germany) and can hardly believe my ears and eyes what I hear and see on German television (and CNN and CNBC, which I suppose are just "European" editions of the U.S. channels because, e.g., they are not LYING about the Bush clan, don t think this would be aired in the U.S. sometimes…*G*) and how again(!) a lot of uneducated and/or uninformed American voters let themselves be manipulated and maneuvered again into voting this criminal maffia-like Bush Clan! How can anybody with any BRAIN vote Republcan again? Apart from the fact, that - if i remember it right - the LAST elecction results were manipulated anyway and actually Bush did NOT have majority of votes…

NOBODY outside the USA still reagrds the U.S. as a "superpower" anymore. Russia, China, Indonesia and Europe LONG AGO took ovber that position in the world….and Russia has already(!) turned to China…I can still remember how my now old parents and all my relatives (until the 70s I guess it was) always spoke POSITIVE about the U.S.A. - NOW I never ever (and believe me, i MEAN this!) hear anything "positive" about the U.S. here in Europe, neither about their economy (just scandals, large scale corruption, a.s.o.), nor their human rights (racism, justice system, Guantanamo), nor the moral/ethical standards of the U.S. (attack on Iraq due to lies and money greed, no working health system except for the rich WASPs, press censorship, unwillingness to consent to international environmental protection agreements, "embedded" journalists ONLY allowed to report on U.S. wars, manipulative FOX conglomerate, ENRON scandal, weapon and military training delivery to Osama Bin Laden by the Bush Clan BEFORE 9/11, corruption everywhere - and STILL the most important factor when decidign on who to vote for seems to be whether a candidate goes to Church on Sundays, what his/her "looks" on TV are, and who of them can collect the most money for election propaganda for this Disneyworld kind of U.S. election campaign. Do U.S. citizens think all a.m. SERIOUS ISSUES can be managed by Disneyland candidates such as McCain and Palin?
hm, I guess I now pay attention to my stocks and the German DAX for the remainder of the day….Stock exchanges have been really CRQASHING for some time now for just ONE REASON: STUPID, arrogant corrupted and criminal U.S. bankers and their Republican political "friends" who passed the corresponding "laws" to put them in a position to act this CRIMINAL! And 25,000 staff members of Lehman Brothers alone lost their jobs because of this, too, I just heard, and not just rich investment bankers (who for sure long ago have feathered their OWN nests!) but mostly LITTLE employees like reception girls, secretaries, cleaning staff, a.s.o….I truly do hope, all Russian and Asian investors now start buying EUROPEAN stocks (as they already did during the last few years since Bush came into power again) so that there s something left for my old age…*G* *sigh*

A lot of people in Europe really are worried that such STUPID persons like Bush, McCain have access to NUCLEAR POWER and the A Bomb and are indeed, as proven in Iraq, attacking foreign countries for merely economic reasons and by using pure LIES as justification, and their citizens actually BELIEVE this! I learnt that the PROTESTS everytime Bush & Co. visited Europe were NOT(!) shown on U.S. televition, while they were widely coverd by correspondents and TV crews around Europe.
That s what worries me most: That there no longer exists FREE PRESS in the USA! That there are just very FEW media combines who RULE AND DECIDE what(!) the US citizens get to see and to know and how openly MANIPULATE facts and news! Nope, they just care about taxes. It's so strange. I mean, taxes are part of our lives and they will never go away. Plus, every election year the politicos spew out the same rhetoric. Yes, I read so in German mags and papers that religious backwardness and intolerance among a lot of U.S. people is a main factor why they despite all the scandals and corruptiveness of Republicans still vote conservative. Sounds a lot like it was in Germany back in the 60s in some hillbilly rural areas - where I grew up. There also, people for decades had voted "conservative" (in Germany that s the CDU party/Angela Merkel right now) just because that was "the custom" among Christians, AND because some Catholic priests in little villages even TOLD them so ( I remember once hearing during a preaching int he 60s in the Catholic church of the village where I lived back then "Do not forget to vote "Christian" from the Priest! Made me disgust the CDU (C hristian D emocratic U nion") and deliberately voted CONTRARY! *G*

A lot of farmers and rural population meantime votes for the Social Democrats (equals a bit Democrats in the US) or even the ecologist Party "The Greens" E.g. in a little Bavarian village or town called Bodenmais this year a 23 year old openly gay(!) living man for the Social-Democratic Party SPD was voted as MAYOR by the inhabitants of the otherwise conservative little town! We much more than the US people decide for a candidate solely because of his/her CAPABILITIES and technical KNOWLEDGE instead of their wealth, looks, media coverage or private life/religion, which should be private!

It's true that right now, that some people make their decisions based on things that are superficial rather than their capabilities or knowledge. I don't Americans are stupid, however, I think some are scared of something new. And rather than taking a chance on something new and different, they vote the they way they always have. I don't necessarily trust Obama, as I'm wary of politicians, but maybe he can change things. Why not try? Bush and co had 8 longs years in office and they have ravaged our Constitution and have shown that people in power are out of touch and are willing to sacrifice us for their gains. Is McCain different? I don't think so. I had respect for the man, but after throwing Ms. Palin at us, I've lost all respect. I too have a colloege degree and a vagina, does that make me qualified for the VP? Yikes…the SNL skit was correct. Apparently anyone can be a VP!
