In a bid to appeal to religious voters before McCain snaps them up, the Obama campaign is about to launch a new line of "faith merchandise."
No joke!
The line includes buttons, bumper stickers, and signs with such rallying slogans as "Believers for Barack," "Pro-Family Pro-Obama," and "Catholics for Obama."
The merchandise is intended to be inclusive of all backgrounds of faith, with more specifically-targeted items to be coming soon, such as "Clergy for Change" and "Pro-Israel Pro-Obama."
In the meantime, Obama Deputy Director of Religious Affairs Paul Monteiro said he wanted to get the broader products out "wthout delay." And with good reason too!
The Catholic vote has traditionally selected the winning presidential campaign every race since 1976, with the exception of Al Gore's 2000 White House bid, so both campaigns have been vying aggressively for it.
What do you think of Barack's attempt to lure the faith vote????

What I've noticed where I live- there are elderly men who are coming out to vote in November just because they don't want a black president. We haven't seen the last of these financial failures. I expect a few more. I think the market will remain volatile until Wall St has a better idea of how serious this current crisis is. Although I wouldn't have said what McCain said - the "fundamentally sound" line - I don't think it's as dire as Obama is making it out to be. Unemployment may go up a little more and profits will be muted going forward for a few more quarters. High gas prices are tough to swallow since it factors into everything we do and buy. Oil is at $93 and will continue to fall and the dollar is getting stronger. Both very good signs. Still, I don't look at my portfolio on days like yesterday.

The pope also said that abortion is non-negotiable. Everything else needs to be taken into consideration, but the pope has stated that that is not the case with abortion. Your stance would imply that someone would have to give up their religion if they didn't fully support the abortion issue and I think that's absolutely ridiculous.
I think we have to agree to disagree on this one. One size doesn't fit all in this case. It's a woman's choice, not the church and certainly not the government. They need to stay out of it.

IT'S GREAT! I'm a Christian, Pro-Life and an Obama supporter! It's dangerous to be a single-issue voter. I'd rather vote for a candidate that I agree with 80% of the time (Obama), rather than a candidate that I agree with 0% of the time (McCain). McCain flip flopped on his pro-choice/life stance, only because it's more popular for him to be pro-life now. I don't trust McCain. And I'd proudly display a Christians for Obama button, and walk hand-in-hand with my Grandpa who is a WWII veteran for Obama.

Granholm, the michigan governor is a democrat and pro-choice.
