first, there's guitars in the video, but you can't hear any of them! how absurd! second, i don't find the song suits her very well. why not a cover of lisa loeb or something? that is all. videos like these like to posture without substance! no guitar sounds in the video! hahahaha……… maybe the guitars were not Nickelodeon jr. friendly enough, so they completely took the guitar tracks out! totally fake! -LVC

New to community…My girlfriend has gotten me hooked to the site. Homeboy Perez man…your out of your mind. In all that is good and holy, how do you not know "Unforgiven" done by Metallica????? Granted…yes, for the better part of the last decade they haven't been all that great, but the new album is awesome and the song came out during the best part of their careers. This disguisting cover deserves to be burned. I get the whole "pop" thing, but this chick fucked up this song, bigtime! I dunno how James & Lars would let her do it. Fucked up I say.

Perez , I completely agree with the forum. You have to here the original before you can judge. When you take from Heavy Metal icons such as Metallica, even though it's a ballad, it will never be as good as the original. Trying to make it a soul song is just as bad as Barry Manilow doing his cover Cd's. You lose credibility. Besides Metallica is far better … you should listen to it.
Hello, I want to say that I find the Heinzmann song very interesting and I become curious of the Metallica song. I find it also very good. Than I find the Apocallyptica song and find it also very good. Different very interesting interpretations of the same song. But many comments here are very onesidedness and intolerance. Some days ago Metallica receipt Stephanie Heinzmann and they find also the interpritation very good. So, you narrow-minded Metallica-Fan try tolerance and hear the song some times (like you do with the Metallica song) may be it become better and better.

Wow. The original was so good. The video was played a million times on MTV when the song came out in the early 90s. I'm surprised you have never heard it. This is really a horrid cover of the song. . . . the vocals are HORRIFIC and the arrangement pales in comparison to the original.

I showed others here the NEW version video. All 5 agreed that she made a HUGE mistake taking on this one. Halfway through they had enough! Then I had to remedy their aching ears by playing the original (listening to now, again). And WTF man, who hasnt heard the original? You dont have to be a big fan to know how brilliant this song (original) is.

Hey come on folks. A cover song is not meant to copy the original. It has to have its own style and this cover is excellent. It is part of a project where a couple of German artists cover Metallica songs as a tribute to the band. When Metallica became aware of Stefanie's version of The Unforgiven they where so thrilled about it that they immediately wanted to meet her personally. A few days ago Metallica had a release party for their new album in Berlin, Stefanie and Metallica met there, the band congratulated her on this brilliant cover, and appreciated her special style.

This is the WORST version of a great song. It takes out all of the power, darkness and isolation and loss the original invokes, I wish I could smack James and Lars for letting them cover this song. It sickens me. No dynamics, good Lord. Before anyone bitches , I AM A MUSICIAN, I played this song for years. I know what Im talking about musically. I bet if Tori covered this song it would be done right, every cover she has done is fucking amazing, I wouldnt mind hearing her take on it. She obviously has the musical insight to know how to channel a song and make it her own but keep the emotions needed. She serves the song.
