They Were There

Leonardo DiCaprio, Jodie Foster, Chris Rock and Will Ferrell dug deep and paid the $28.5K to attend the Barbara Streisand-led fundraiser for Barack Obama in LA on Tuesday.
According to a new report, Obama opened up and shared his feeling about the 'concerns' people have had about the closeness of the race to the White House:
“A lot of you, just in conversations while we were in the photo lines, had all sorts of suggestions… And a lot of people have gotten nervous and concerned. Why is this as close as it is? And what’s going on?” The Illinois senator said that the race was always going to be a hard-fought contest because he represented a “leap” for voters, especially when running against John McCain, a “genuine hero” with a “compelling biography.” Obama said that there was “enormous resistance … because people have been fed cynicism for a long time” but he said that he remained “confident about winning because I’ve looked at John McCain, I’ve looked at Sarah Palin, I’ve looked at their agenda, and they don’t have one.”
Barack is so diplomatic!

Re: Melissa is always right – Melissa, MM will NEVER do an expose on Chicago politics because it is LIBERAL corruption as opposed to CONSERVATIVE corruption. I encourage people to also Google ACORN, Ayers, and Dohrn. Chicago, Obama's political incubator, is as politically CORRUPT as it comes. Reading in depth over the past few weeks about Obama's community organizer days was a real eye-opener. Four years in close association with recognized Communist organizations. Makes me sick. It really does. When America chooses Communism it will cease to be the land of the free.

Re: Geminibarbi – You are a bigot and an idiot. Google: Barack Obama, Muslim and see what you find. I respect peoples arguments and opinions on real issues like tax, war, and social issues, but not made-up urban myths like this. Spend some time researching the important issues and why you truly support McCain and then maybe you can post an intelligent, valid and honest comment.
Re: emalie – #204
OMG. I can't believe you made such an infantile remark.
Did you know that Obama takes as much if not more from the likes of Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and Lehman? It's TRUE. Go do some research and get back to me. I'll help you: go to "opensecrets" (org). It's a non-partisan site that tracks money in politics. Don't make ridiculous comments until you know the FACTS, please.
I've just added Leonardo DiCaprio, Jodie Foster, Chris Rock and Will Ferrell to our black listing of celebutards that we will NEVER EVER pay to watch anything that they appear in.
.
How can we obtain the total listing of all the idiot celebutards that attended the former 8mm B&W XXX porno star Barbara Streisand's delusional Borat Obama fantasy orgy, so we can add their names to this boycott listing?

what you have posted is incorrect on Obama. Obama has never waivered on the point that Iraq was a mistake. He did say that since we are now there it is our obligation to stabilize the country. And no that was NOT what we were doing, our aim is ultimately build a permanent base there and have a foothold in the middle east outside of Israel. To quote Bush "America has enduring and vital interests in the [Middle East] region…It remains a strategic crossroads for the world…"
Why is the Middle East so important? It contains some 60 percent of world oil reserves. Oil is not only critical as a source of profit but it's also a strategic weapon to control the global economy and other countries which depend on oil. Control of the Middleeast = global domination. This is why the U.S. has 170,000 troops, a bounty of ships AND military bases in the region, why we spend an pbscene amount of $ on Israel as well Arab tyrannies like Saudi Arabia, and why McCain is today threatening war on Iran.
Re: Geminibarbi – You're not getting anywhere with your argument. And it's okay, because you support the republican candidate, so I wouldn't expect anything else. Please tell me why voting for Obama is "suicidal?" Yet he wants out of war? McCain thinks we should be at war for 100 MORE YEARS? How is that okay? You claim that Obama is inexperienced, but what experience does McCain have running a country? The same as Obama! None! Is McCain more experienced because he served in a war? So what? Being a war veteran does not mean you're qualified for being President. How can you possibly call me ignorant when all you do is criticize Obama calling him un-American, a terrorist, a Muslim terrorist, etc., yet I have not heard one reason why I should support McCain instead. You are clearly sticking to your one side with your closed mind, and that's fine if that's how you want to live your life, but please do not assume that the rest of us are "ignorant" for not agreeing with you, sweetie.
Re: hollyholly8 – #214
Palin has more executive experience than the other three. Military service IS a qualifier for president because on of the president's primary roles is as Commander in Chief of the armed forces. It helps to have an understanding of how the military works.
Re: _Alice_ – a little unsettling… i don't mind being alone…….i'm just not used to such a long stretch of time……..off course, sitting here, it seems you blink, and hours go by! Unfortunately, doing WHATEVER I want, would require some cash!
Re: mamajud – LOL…I hear ya sista.
The only thing I'm concerned is if Obama does win how he'll handle the military (especially since he has no experience with it), he'll fuck around with the Constitution (stock up on firearms now law abiding gun owners before he takes that right away), and how his current senate record shows he doesn't do much, just present/no vote. I have YET to hear any of Obama's plans to help the US. At least McCain is making it clear on the direction he wants to move in.

That way we will have one less racist fucktard piece of shit walking around. That will not only be a contribution to the USA but to earth itself. You are a fucking idiot. "Since entering the War in Iraq we have saved thousand of Iraqi Civilians, killed Saddam Huessien and restored the country to a democracy so the Iraqi's no longer have to live in fear."
THE IRAQI PEOPLE HAVE GONE FROM HAPPY TO ANGERED THAT WE ARE OCCUPYING THEIR COUNTRY. WE ARE THERE TO SET UP A PUPPET GOV'T WE CONTROL AND TO BUILD A MILITARY FOOTHOLD. THE FACT IS WE HAVE LOST 4600 GREAT SOLDIERS. IRAQ HAS LOST OVER 600k in LIVES.
READ SAMUEL HUNTINGTON'S CLASH OF CIVILIZATIONS
I DO NOT REMEMBER NOT ONE IRAQI CITIZEN ASKING FOR US TO "SAVE THEM." This is bullshit not only have we lost thousands in this dumb ass war all about "oil", but we have killed probably just as many iraqi civilians…not insurgents but fucking civilians. Didn't any of you see those pictures last week of the women and kids and all those civilians that died in our bombings. I can't believe how ignorant people are. Are you that brainwashed? If the Iraq war was in the frame work of the UN Mandate then the US would NOT have had to go into this war on its own. The invasion of Iraq and the Pre - Emptive stance of Bush is where we lost the support of the UN adn angered the international community. Even France our oldest allies tried to talk us out of it. As for your source on Obama: "Obama as recently as yesterday has admitted that the Iraq war was not illegal and within the framework of a UN Mandate. As I stated already I only follow Non partisan sources and the operative word in your sentence is COULD. This is why I dismiss the material equally on BOTH sides. Also a credible bit of information should have more than 3 RELIABLE sources. What you're implying is that Obama violated the Logan Act and IF he had, this would have been news fodder WEEKS ago, especially via conservatives who have their own agenda.
Re: Bavaria –

Isn't there outcry every time a mosque is built in Germany? Freedom? You forgot to also mention the empire Germany tried to create in WW2 as well.

Re: ERRRBOOO –

Also, I think if people today were alive back then we wouldn't have invaded Europe. They would have said we were having too many casualties. Either way you put it, evil is evil. A nation blinded by a up and coming charismatic leader, that sounds familiar.
Re: cyatic910 –
Post 237
Were non partisan inspectors NOT in Iraq when Bush gave the UN the finger? Did McCain too not support Bush on the war? Did Obama not speak out AGAINST it?
As for the Logan Act ( not directed to you cyatic) Obama has always stated: "We must be as responsible getting out of Iraq as the Bush administration has been irresponsible getting into Iraq." In other words we must meet the criteria for SFA and SOFA agreements. That's a big difference from suggesting that Obama is committing treason violating the Logan Act which is what Taheri is implying.
Re: cyatic910 – post 236- No there is not an outcry everytime a mosque is built here. Deutschland has a HUGE Muslim population. And most of the time they get along very well with the Germans. Plus, they add culture, art, cuisine, and money.
WW2 is not the issue here. By your assumption, then everything the US does is justified because Deutschland was once an Empire? Not to mention, we bombed the shit out of THEIR empire. Hello?
If you don't even know that the EU exists, why should anyone take you seriously?
Come back with FACTS. And look up what countries are part of the EU.

I've fought in Iraq and take great offense in your suggesting that I was there killing innocent people. I don't remember seeing you there. Please don't say you know Bin Laden wasn't involved, I don't think you were in any of the security briefings. I personally don't care what come on the news about the war as long as we're taking care of business. It's funny how you hardly see any good news on tv from Iraq. We are there for oil? How come we're still paying a lot for gas? I've been in the military for over 15 years, every single meeting, plan, mission in not broadcast on tv or put in the newspapers. On a side note, how come nobody every complains about how much movie stars get paid?

What about the Cologne Mosque project?
Re: cyatic910 – No offense. And my hubby is Army and has gone downrange twice and believes everything I have said on here. Being in the military is no excuse for blindness. I appreciate all men and women serving. Which is exactly why I question the things I believe are wrong and corrupt. You should question it too.
Whoot Whoot! Love it! Yes We Can!!!!!
Re: _Alice_ – post248- That project was controversial because it was protested by the right wing neo nazi's. Most Germans get along well with muslims. But just like in the US(think KKK), Germany has a racist community. No one is immune from that.
By the way, I never mean any disrespect for the troops. I'm a military spouse and I am extremely anti war. I support the troops more than you'll ever know. That's also why I'm pissed off at McCain. He doesn't support you, vets, or military families. He has refused to sign many bills that would give us money. Please google that. He has refused to sign bills that give the vets money and medical facilities.
Re: Geminibarbi –
Post 247
That is a very ignorant assessment of blacks and whites. I don't know where you live but I know not all blacks hate whites and vice versa. As for you insensative comments a/b slavery, it is the legacy of slavery why some families "that can trace their ancestors to the mayflower" are WEALTHY. How easy we forget that blacks were once slaves worked to the bone but in the same sentence call black "lazy" needy looking for handouts etc. (not directed at you)The only race that got it worse than blacks were Native Americans. Even comments that Biden has to say a/b Obama speaks to the undercurrent of racism that still thrives in America. The color line has yet to be crossed and only in America is black still a stigma / dirty word. Support who you want to support but don't make assumptions a/b the people you are conversing w/… Unless they have stated something insulting a/b u.
I know people who have served in Iraq and a couple of these people have been back more than once. What they tell me is that what we see on the the nightly news is far from reality. We are making progress, we are making a difference and the Iraqi people as a whole are appreciative. McCain has been to Iraq numerous times and knows first-hand what it is to be a soldier and what we are up against. Obama doesn't have a clue. Nobody wants war, but if we're in it then we're in it to win, we cannot throw up the white flag like Obama would have us do. He only went to Iraq because he had to, not because he wanted to visit our troops or know what the reality is. At best his short visit to Iraq was a good photo-op for him. He was at his best when in front of a mass of German supporters. McCain for President.

Then please tell me why the overall claim on the BBC as well as foreign blog spots is that we the US have shifted from Liberators to Occupiers? Don't confuse what I'm stating as "I don't support the troops" FAR FROM IT. What I am stating though is that Iraq was a mistake from the very begining and none of the lives lost there were justified, Also; the focus has shifted from Osama yet every year we reflect on 9-11, I digress. While McCain has sacrificed for this country, he votes against Vets and being a war hero is not enough grounds to give someone the presidency, afterall; Why does Barack lead McCain in donations from the military??? Please read Phillip Butler's " Why I will not Vote for John McCain, a fellow captor who spent 8 1/2 years in the hanoi hilton. I believe miltary dot com has removed the letter, however; other sites still have it. Also, I think that only Haliburton and KBR benefit from this war NOT our soldiers and NOT the Iraqi people. I mean seriously… people today STILL think Osama was responsable for 1993 WTC when in actuality Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman is responsable and is in prison for it. So ignoring the smoke and mirrors why are we in Iraq and still there? Why is the rest of the world looking at us as the country that only understands gunboat diplomacy? McCain is chomping at the bit for Iran. Can we wrap up Afghanistan and Iraq first? Our military is clearly overstretched w/ all these boots on the ground.
yeah, barack is soooo in touch with the common people
Of course Obamama is a "leap" for voters. No experience, wife hates white people… pretty damn hard sell in Kansas. That plus not having any sort of real plan for the country other than "CHANGE". Change what? "uhhhhhh…we'll get back to you…"
Re: Minx –
I'm just stating what I've heard from people I know who have been, that's what I have to base my feelings about the issue on. They've told me that the media sways some of the truth and naturally are offended by the media's negativity. I'm not saying I think Iraq was handled in the best way, I don't. I'm just saying that I don't think our media does a very good job of showing some of the things that we have done right in Iraq. I agree on some of the points you are making, some I don't, but I respect your thoughts and I'm glad you support our troops. I personally just feel like McCain is the best choice for me. I think Obama is too far to the left. I wouldn't have voted Republican had it been any other nominee up there but McCain because the others like Romney and Huckabee were too far right and I didn't feel like they had the knowledge McCain has. McCain falls more to the center in my view. If anyone but him had gotten the nod then I would have voted for Hillary, but I just can't vote for Obama, he hasn't given me much reason to. McCain is my preference. I certainly respect that your view on that are most likely the opposite.

Same thing can be said of McCain who also has each issue adressed under the issues tab on his website. Obama literally got more donations from the military than McCain… why? I know why but I leave to each their right to choose who they want. I mainly debunk lies on this site.
I can't believe how close it is either! Obama is CLEARLY the right person for office, not this old hypocritical fart….C'MOOONNN people!
Obama is the most un-patriotic American out there! It scares me that some of you feel confident enough to vote for somebody who will not place their hand over their heart during the pledge of allegiance and has a wife who has publicly stated that she is not proud of her country! They should both move to another country that they could be proud of!!!!

Does anyone wonder why most "celebrities" are voting for Obama? Their wants and needs are obviously different from the common man so why will you vote for him?
Re: Mrs. Rogers – Definitely agree.
Nice to see that while our nation's economic status is in dire straits, Obama, the most elitist candidate in this election is out hob-nobbing with the elite, raking in millions that could be put to better use, like helping the victims of Hurricane Ike. Shame on that self-indulgent, patronizing, better-than-the rest of us hypocrite! BTW LettyB, hollywood celebrities are the minority in this country, one vote per person, just because they have more $$$ than the majority of voting citizens doesn't mean their votes count more than ours. The only man for the job is McCain, he will keep our country safe, Obama has said repeatedly that Iran doesn't pose much of a threat, what hemisphere is he floating in?
Re: Bavaria – Let's not forget Bush had 9/11 to deal with, Katrina and other natural disasters and 10 million illegal immigrants to add to the current economic situation. Re: HusseinNobama1 – Re: Teine684 – Re: Mrs. Rogers –
Yeah,
call Obama an elitist who just finished paying off his student loans, he's so dumb that now McCain is trying to hijack on the Change Express. Obama always ran on Change & Hope and cleaning out Washington, McCain's platform was experience until he realized Americans preferred Obama's message now he's deperatley trying to change the rules of the game this late, puhlease. Yeah he was a POW for five years yet he was a citizen of this country for 30 years BEFORE he discovered how much he loved his country once forced to be a "guest" in another. I love how he can come to that at 34 years old yet Michelle take flack for saying that "For the first time in her ADULT LIFE she is proud of her country NOT B/C Barack has done well, but BECAUSE I think People are HUNGRY FOR CHANGE." Go youtube it. McCain had 30 years to "change" and yeah he was once a Maverick and then STOPPED when he voted with C Student Dumbass Bush 90% of the time. McCain pushes his Vietnam experience yet he votes against our vets and troops while under Bush. Go google McCain votes against Vets. So yeah we owe him a forever thank you for his sacrifice but what about our Heroes coming home paraplegics and quadraplegics whose families are going broke paying teir medical bills that WE OWE THEM. What about them? Obama would be more logical handling Iran, we don't need another hothead office.

People need to quit this BS already. African Americans ALWAYS voted DEMOCRAT 95%!!!! get over it already! Blacks are only 12% of the population! They can't swing an entire election. Get a clue already!!! Seriously!
JUSTTFAX, I like most of what you say but a government run healthcare system is not a good choice. Name one thing the government is in charge of that is run efficiently. I don't know what the answer is but I know that is not. Our politicians should have to live by the same rules as we do. Until that time we will always be taking it in the butt.
Our government should be taking less from all of us no matter what our individual incomes are. We are being politically raped everyday by these bastards for their own gain. I would love to be able to spend money that belongs to someone else. They are always naming multi billion dollar projects after themselves. We need to wake up. I think the libertarian have it right. They just need an electable candidate.
Re: Teine684 – Frankley Teine684 We probably don't need the Hollyweird money machine down here to help with the devistation that Ike has left. But I doubt that there will be fund raisers in Hollyweird for us…it has not become pc yet. I did not see a collection plate being passed at the Emmy awards tonight. Unlike those folks in Louisiana we will not be crying because someone isn't doing enough for us. Texans are up to the task of putting their lives back together. Those idiots who talk like everyone down here is a stupid country bumpkin with a straight line for a family tree, have obviously never been to Texas. I digress. Sorry everybody!!
