    Not bad.

  11. 11

It would be better if she was taking her clothes off while she was doing it.

  15. 15

That was a great performance! She's got a very sultry jazzy voice - suits that style very well. The performance was subtly upbeat but with melancholy blended in….

  16. 16

I can't believe the First Lady would sing this! "Tu es ma came" means "You are my coke"!!!!! Classy.

  17. 17

    Not my thing.

  18. 18

    C'est une chanson typiquement francaise!!

  19. 19

she did not suck… she actually was shy and friendly.. and made a nice interview and show…. NOT LIKE THE CRAPPY TEEN POP IDOLS IN USA NOW HEY!!!!

  20. 20

I think she should stick to her day job and maybe take up phone sex as a hobby instead.

  21. 21

    I like it

  22. 22

I like it. I could totally read a book to it or just chill out.

  23. 23

She can't sing. She's talentless and opportunist like her fake husband.

Re: R.abbit – you are a fucking idiot.
Carla Bruni has been writing music and performing live for years, she has been famous in her own right for over a decade.
wtf would you know about real talent or culture??
go back to listening to your jonas brothers records, while i got back to listening g to serge gainsbourg you ignorant fuck.

  25. 25

i don't understand a word of it but it was awesomeee.

    Re: Maudev – absolument.

  27. 27

    She has a lovely voice.

  28. 28

I really really liked it, I can imagine lying back relaxing to this song

  29. 29

Not something I would go out and buy, but I liked it, I love the French language, it's so beautiful.

I loved it. Huge Carla Bruni fan. Loved her since her first album "Quelqu'un m'a dit". For those who can't speak or understand French "No Promises" is also a great song. That's why I love Europeans always progressive with their First Ladies. I wish a first Lady in the US had a talent like this.

  31. lelah says – reply to this

I think she comes across as very sweet.

  32. lelah says – reply to this

Re: FrenchgirlslovePNasty – It means "You and Mama came", like they went somwhere she was at. Duh.

  33. coco says – reply to this

    Re: coco

    Correction 'No promises" the album.

  34. 34

I like it , she is better than many American singers :)

  35. 35

NO! SHe is an incredibly talented French songstress.

  36. 36

Pretty song. I don't see how anyone could hate it.
Also, it's hard to hate on France's first lady for being a singer when we have such a ridiculous "hockey mom" VP nomination. Carla Bruni's only official function is to be charming, which she is. And she's pretty good at her second job too. Who says the french are not hardworking?

  37. 37

i liked it too! very french.

  38. 38

She could use some voice lessons.

  39. 39

it's Sarkozy..and I like her. I'm mainly into 50's music, rockabilly, swing and such, have been for the last 20 years, but Carla Bruni is the only type of "modern/current" type of music I like. Caught some of her tunes on YouTube yesterday, quite good actually..

  40. 40

why do so many people have it out for this poor lady!? Princess Grace…one of the most revered royals of the modern age…was once nothing more than a little actress. People aren't defined by their jobs or stations. I thought we were past the age of eugenics.

  41. 41

    i like her very much

  42. 42

Re: Uker – your right in that it was hars. I just can stand her husbands politics and this bird is an easy target

  43. 43

Ah, amazing. I have been a fan of her voice for years. She is a true singer!

  44. 44

Well. dunno being a first lady I think takes big responsability ..in some ways you become a property of the country… you represent the country to the world…
I'm not so sure if all french people are happy about having a little folk singer as the face of their goverment.
I think she should have put the little singing to the side and concentrate on things more "stately"
I mean she has an ok voice .. not great just ok ….
so If I were her… instead of giving interviews about her music .. about traveling to promote a stop to AIDS or world hunger….
and perhaps she should continue her singing after her husbands term

  45. 45

Wouldn't say she sucked, but it wasn't groundbreaking by any means. Her whole new album is full of cliched metaphors.

  46. 46

MORGAN STANLEY s next to come down, I just learnt from a German stock exchange TV station …..America is DOOMED… *G*

  47. 47

I love it! Love the interview too. Jools seems more than happy to take up the French habit of kissing on the cheeks. I can totally see what Sarcozy sees in her.

  48. 48

    I thought she was good…

  49. 49

    Not bad!

  50. 50

She did good! I love her. If only American first ladies could be like this, artistic, cosmopolitan, sexy…. She's great.

  51. 51

I have no idea what she is singing, but it sounds nice to me.

  52. 52

I think it was good. It's not everyone's cup of tea, but anyone who likes Feist, Cat Power etc. will like her.

  53. 53

    Not bad…

  54. 54

no she"s got avery tender sexy voice I thought it was hot

  55. 55

She's not bad, but if she wasn't a model and first lady of France, nobody would listen to her music.

  56. 56

    "Pitchy…..tres, tres pitchy, Chien!"

  57. 57

  58. 58

Re: lelah – You need a few more French lessons… It means she doesn't need drugs ’cause she's hooked on him. My point was that as avant-garde as it is for a First Lady to be a popular singer, she may want to avoid mentioning the fact that drugs may be or have been in her life. It doesn't make for very good foreign diplomacy.

  59. 59

I prefer L'amoureuse, it's such a beautiful song. the performance was real good I would loooooove to see her live!

  60. 60

Not the type of music i listen to but i liked her performance and voice.

  61. 61

Yayyy I love her! I think she's great.

  62. Tatti says – reply to this

even if she did, don't you just get away with that french tou-tou accent?

I like it. Imagine Mrs Bush singing at Jools Holland - what would she sing???

  63. 63

It was surprisingly good. I love that European jazz sound!

  64. 64

    Maybe it was SPOKEN WORD?

  65. 65

    She certainly surprised me.

    Artistically, sans suck.
It was actually quite passionate, very mellow, sexy and a bit soulful.

All this time I expected her to be a flaky, cheesy poof singer, and her she is, quite a beautiful one instead! I'd definitely put that song on my ipod.

  66. 66

shes very sexy, i liked it.

  67. 67

pretty good! i think people should just separate the fact that she's a singer and the first lady of france coz theyre both completely different things! besides, shes been singing and writing waay back before she was even the first lady. and im a carla too =) xxx

  68. 68

Typical french style. She doesn't have much range, and sings kind of like a carefree child. Some people like it,…I could take it or leave it.
She seems like a nice open sweet person though…that's why her music is a reflection of her persona I guess.
