Not So Much!

Barack Obama's Vice Presidential running mate, Joe Biden says that paying higher taxes should be considered "patriotic" for wealthy Americans.

Uhmm, not so much!

While the rich should get taxed more, it's more patriotic to be proud of a country that is fiscally responsible and doesn't waste their taxpayers money. Or so we think.

What do U think????

i think what he meant was that its time for america to take care of america. for the rich to stop being selfish and to help out the people that cant help themselves. everbody should get taxed the same percentage…you make more, you pay more. why would you make more and pay less?? something has got to change. something has to be done. though, im sure he could have worded it more eloquently, but i agree.

This is a typical Biden remark. Just like him saying everyone working at Dunkin Donuts has an Indian accent, LOL, not racist much, right but its ok becase he is a male. God forbid Palin make a remark like that.

  3. 103

Typical politician suck the American worker dry, it is the only form of legalized slavery.

  4. 104

Re: oh_nono – Hey idiot. What you describe would be called a "flat tax" . Which I thoroughly agree with. That way every pays the same percentage of their paycheck. The rich get harder because they make more and the middle class pays less because they pay less. That would be fair. BUT THAT IS NOT WHAT BIDEN OR OBAMA IS PROPOSING!

  5. 105

Re: Jade03 – how in the HELL is economic times tough on the rich??? dumb…

    106

this is the only thing this moron can think of to say?? Oh and by the way, "rich" is used loosely as the really rich will be able to take their money and jobs elsewhere, its those of us in the gray area that get screwed…why should someone have to go to work HALF the week to pay for losers?? sounds communist to me..Bet Biden and Obama will NOT be effected by the tax increase and if they are they just keep raising their senate paychecks,,,that they vote in themselves

  7. 107

They already take about 500.00 a month from me, and I don't make very much money I could do alot with that extra money it really gets old to work your ass off and the government steals your money and reapropriates it as they see fit. REVOLUTION NOW

  8. 108

I HATe the assumption that people that have money just inherited it ,won the lottery, or actually don't have to do anything to get it. Has it ever occured to someone that people ACTUALLY WORK HARD FOR THEIR MONEY? Why should they be penalized for WORKING MAKING A GOOD LIVING FOR THEMSELVES? You'll find that people who WORK will earn more than someone collecting a "PAYCHECK" from the government. I donate money to charities, but IT IS NOT MY FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY TO HELP SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT HELP THEMSELVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Re: PaLady

    AMEN AND WELL STATED!!!!!!!!

THIS IS WHAT PEOPLE ARE IGNORING AND OVERLOOKING ON PURPOSE.

OBAMA HUSAIN IS ALL ABOUT HOLLYWOOD AND MONEY!!! GREEDY BASTARD!!

    Biden is a monster!

  12. 112

Ok libtards let me use an example: Angelina Jolie (I personally can't stand the former drug addicted, skin cutter, slut since 14…but Perez worships her so I chose her as the example)
Let's look at her finances…she is an actress and I venture to say that despite my conceptions on Ms Jolie–I assume she works hard at her job.
So, she makes 10million/picture and grosses about $20 million/year. In 2006, she donated over 3 million to charities and then the U.S. govt. took a nice chunk of that 20 million for taxes (approx another 2-4 million dollars) So, through taxes/charities 7million of the estimated 20 million she grossed went to the poor… Sounds more than fair
By democrap standards–that is not enough…it's a crime for her to make that much money so over 40% should be taxed and redistributed…they want her to give the government $9 million and then they'll allocate it out… Do we really think people such as Ms. Jolie will continue to donate as much to charities for TRUE people in need if the government leaves he with less of her paycheck… Be serious..

  13. 113

Wow ole Joe isnt as dumb as you think.. he is a publisty whore.. and trying to FOOL ALL middle class WORKING people.. this a scam to get your VOTE.. He damn sure doesnt want anymore of his money TAXED!!! He wont do it.. He just wants your vote,,, THE WHO: Wont get FOOLED again..

  14. 114

Re: characterassasination1 – — hey, prick. i agree with it, too. shall i rewrite it with the correct spacing?

i think what he meant was that its time for america to take care of america. for the rich to stop being selfish and to help out other people that cant help themselves.

(space) everybody should get taxed the same percentage…you make more, you pay more. why would you make more and pay less??

(SPACE) something has to change. something has to be done.

(SPACE) though, im sure he could have worded it more eloquently, but i agree.

  15. 115

Perfect, another way of saying "income redistribution"

  16. 116

    stop letting that man speak
hes as bad as lindsay lohan

  17. 117

I think John McCain and Barack Obama both screwed up. Joe Biden is a dumbass and Sarah Palin just has to much dirty laundry

  18. 118

Perez, stop being politically ignorant. Democrats want to tax the rich. Republicans don't want to tax the rich but tax the middle incomers. That's why I am an independent. That's why when people say they are liberal, but vote democrat, I scratch my head. Stop being an idiot.

  19. 119

Obama will raise taxes for people who make $250,000 a year or more. That is NOT ME that is NOT anyone I KNOW. And even then, it's still not that much of a raise. I prefer that to everyone being taxed equally, thus making the rich richer, as the Republican party has always done and will continue to do. Please check your facts people!

  20. 120

flat tax means same percentage for all, fair, but higher income equals higher tax. its simple, why dont people get this…

  21. 121

what a douche. if he really felt this way, then why did obama speak at a fund raiser in california where good old ordinary (haha) folks ponied up over $30,000 a head to hear him? wouldn't it have been more patriotic to send it straight to the IRS? after the record-breaking month (aug.) of fund raising that obama just had, i think it would have been patriotic if he donated that money to food and oil banks around the country. yeah, he's a real advocate of change alright, no democrat has ever hob-nobbed with hollywood elite for some cash………….

  22. 122

And…… this is not news.. Get ready Perez as soon as Obama is elected you can cut that nice chunk of change right out of your salary baby.. He's going to take from you to give to someone else…. REDISTRIBUTION…. The funny thing is, is that while you were touting all this BS about change and hope…. all you will eventually have left of your change is hope that it will come back one day.

Be a responsible citizen and dont listen to all the BS about how Obama cares, READ his policies and get to KNOW WHO HE REALLY IS.. Think for yourself, you seem smart enough to be able to do that…. He has a dark side.

  23. 123

WOOOOOOW I can't believe I'm actually agreeing with you, you might finally be starting to see the light…..Thats exactly one of the many reasons I'm NOT voting Osama Bin Biden, who just want to raise our taxes. Encase you haven't noticed, Big Business's are already collapsing and if their tax's are raised, their business will collapse and thousand of Americans will be without a job!!
    -
Figure it out people, a raise in taxes is VERY VERY VERY VERY Bad News during these tuff times. You think things are bad now, you'll see them get 10x worse if Obama is elected.

  24. 124

Re: prettylady – He wont donate shit. Harry Reid just asked his campaign this week to pony up some doe to get some dems re-elected and the Obama campaign said No, sorry raise money for yourselves…… He's in it for himself, no matter what, no holes barred. Those idiots who paid 30,000 a plate, that wont be the last time that Obama will fleece them for their money… it's just that this time they willingly gave it over. WHAT A BUNCH OF FLIPPIN IDIOTS

  25. 125

This is the reason Obama won't win.

  26. 126

    1. Wealthiest 20% of the U.S. population pay 80% of the current U.S. taxes already…
    2. The top 1/2 (50%) of wage earners pay 96.03% of the current taxes…making the lower class (other 50%) responsible for a shared less than 4% of taxes (and most have no tax responsibility)
    3. So, why in the HOLY HECK should the rich and hard working Americans be punished and be taxed MORE to make up for the other 1/2 who only has to fork over less than 4%????? THAT IS WEALTH REDISTRIBUTION AND SPITS IN THE FACE OF THE AMERICAN DREAM & CAPITALISM!!!

  27. 127

The wealthiest receive tax breaks because they contribute to the economy far more then the average joe. they also pay far more then the average joe. no one should be paying %50 of their income to the government, and right now many, many people are. there should be a flat tax. and why the hell do people who contribute nothing, get a tax return??? enough of the robin hood government mentality. Joe Rogan had a great line, "I believe in social darwinism"

  28. 128

Yes, the top 3% of the income bracket will pay an extra 2%…depending on the state of the economy at the time they make these actual decisions. The small minority of the super-rich has been getting richer & the general pop. has been getting poorer and poorer. McCain agrees that unless you start protecting the mainstream middle-income American worker, our country's economy will go to hell in a handbasket! Oops…it already is. Brilliant, Bush…simply brilliant. Biden truly believes in "putting country first" unlike the uneducated "talkers" who are just talk…a bunch of talk. Go "Circular Talk Express!" Like in that hilarious episode of Southpark….(Gods & Clods) The white collars of America need the blue or the whole house of cards is going to fall… oh yeah, THAT"S what Sarah Palin wants…the end of the world as we know it. lol. Bring it on Succubus Sarah…bring. it. on. ;0)

Reason # 1,036,489 not to vote for this ticket! Should of chose Hilary! I think his VP choice will cause him to lose this election. This guy is an idiot! McPalin all the way baby! AND everyone is quite aware that Obama is pro a tax increase on anyone who makes over 225K a year.

  31. 131

Guess who ate a big hot steamy bowl of stupid for breakfast? Not I…

  32. 132

He's right. The only whiners out there ARE the rich, because God forbid they might have to pay their fair share instead of using the loopholes that John McCain has given them for 26 years. Phil Grahm can kiss my ass.

  34. 134

    Hey commie Joe Biden,
poor people don't make jobs for
people, rich people make jobs for
    other people!
Tax the rich too much and they will
either quit working or just leave
the country, and not create any
new jobs for the rest of us.
    .
    Promoting class envy
to buy votes is an old political trick
but it will ruin the U.S. economy!

  36. 136

    ITS NOT PATRIOTIC, ITS IDIOTIC!
    .
OBAMA PICKED BIDEN OVER HILLARY BECAUSE HE FELT BIDEN COULD FILL IN THE GAP OF HIS INEXPERIENCE!
    .
HOW ON EARTH CAN OBAMA/BIDEN SAY ITS THE OTHER SIDE THAT IS 'OUT OF TOUCH'
    .
NOT ONLY DOES OBAMA'S 'PLAN' CALL TO RAISE TAXES FOR MOST OF US (TRUTH), IT ALSO CALLS FOR **GIVING** THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS EACH TO PEOPLE WHO PAY NO TAXES! (ALSO TRUTH)
    .
NOT A REFUND OF SOME OF THE TAXES PAID BY AN INDIVIDUAL, BUT A GIFT CHECK TO THOSE WHO HAVE NOT PAID ANY TAXES AT ALL!
    .
READ HIS PLAN - THIS IS TRUE!
    .
TAXES ARE DESIGNED TO BRING IN REVENUE SO OUR GOVERNMENT CAN BUILD ROADS, HIRE POLICE AND FIREFIGHTERS, CONSTRUCT A MILITARY THAT CAN PROTECT US, ETC.
    .
NOT ONLY DOES HE WANT TO MAKE IT MORE DIFFICULT FOR BUSINESS OWNERS TO HIRE ADDITIONAL EMPLOYEES (GENERATE JOBS) BY TAXING THEM TO DEATH, HE WANTS TO USE THE TAX PROGRAM TO TAKE MONEY AWAY FROM OUR OVERSTRETCHED FEDERAL BUDGET TO USE A REBATE PROGRAM!
    .
THEIR IRS POLICY IS SCARY!! TRULY SCARY!
    .
REMEMBER - PALIN MAY BE RIGHT LEANING, BUT MCCAIN IS FAMOUSLY MODERATE

  37. 137

I agree with Joe. To whom much is given, much is expected. We're all in it together. If you love your country, you love your countrymen.

  38. 138

why would we want higher taxes
when most people cant even pay for there homes?
hasnt he seen whats happening to most americans

  39. 139

Re: shirleyfeeney – Yeah, you'll be one of the ones I'll be laying off in an Obama adminstration. Why? Because I am the small business owner who creates the jobs. Which means I am in control of my business and my destiny. Fewer jobs for you. The employess I keep, I'll have to pay less and cut their benifits. Then I'll work harder and even longer hours and charge more. I wll find a way to take home the same amount of money for my family so we can SURVIVE. At $250,000 I am far from "Rich". I worked my way up from $15,000 a year, while don't you do the same and quit asking for a hand-out from me.

    140

oh_nono is right…we need a flat tax in this country. You make more, you pay more. You make less, you pay less.

  42. 142

Re: shirleyfeeney – Yeah, you'll be one of the ones I'll be laying off in an Obama adminstration. Why? Because I am the small business owner who creates the jobs. 43. 143

Well that really makes me want to strive to be successful. I think I'll strive to be a loser instead and go on welfare. Then I can stay home and do nothing and get paid for it.

  44. 144

Re: Jenny2 – Angies donation are tax deductible

  45. 145

Re: MP – I agree. Too bad no one is proposing a flat tax. Instead, the Obama camp wants to redistribute income. It may sound good to you now while you're young and broke but in ten years you will feel differently. By then it will be too late. It is Communism. NOTHING is less "patriotic" and more un-American than income redistribution. Wake up!

  46. 146

I agree; I'm fine with paying more taxes if it means that we will be able to finance important social programs that will help our country's people thrive. I think wasteful spending is always a threat.

  47. 147

I think now that you, yourself are "rich" your views may have changed.

  48. 148

to: Stephani86 - you are spot on…why should people who work and earn a good income, through hard work, education, etc…have to pay more to support lazy, welfare takers…if Obama gets elected it is going to be the middle class and upper middle class that gets slammed…not the really rich, because like every other politician and don't be fooled, Obama is the same old same old…he is in thier pockets…check out how much he has accepted from the super wealthy. Bottom Line - - McCain/Palin 08 and Joe Biden is just an idiot.

  49. 149

Well, I know people with a very high income who are willing for their taxes to go up if they vote for Obama. Why? Because they recognize that the country needs him. It doesn't matter if their own bank accounts suffer to them, they want the country to prosper. When you think about it like that, its a bit patriotic dont you think?

  50. 150

Re: ChihuahuaBama – I think i'll do the same with you. I think i'll drop out of school and not pay back my loans and just wait for everyone else to pay them off for me.

  51. 151

Taxes are American and without them… well, we probably wouldn't be reading this damn blog… Rich people are always using their money and power to get out of paying their fair share of taxes… He was only challenging wealthy americans to give up the charade.

Perez, you are such a dumb ass!

  52. 152

Our Government needs a huge overhaul and privately held or public run companies are failing due to greed as well. So I should hope the new Government Administration uses our money wisely and not just on their over inflated budgets and salaries. It seems greed and special interest take priority in our Economy & Government and now we are paying the price.

I hope we don't place another candidate in power that is focused on family legacy and riches. As for Biden, given his humble background, I think he truly blames the rich & the current Administration for our economic problems and thinks it is time they start giving up some of what they love so much ($$$) in order to balance out the economy a bit.

However this will not solve all our problems right away because reform is needed before corporations continue to drag us down the road to riches chained to the bumper of their over priced gas guzzling promises dismembering our dreams and our futures in one fast trip.

Dammit Perez I want to PARTAAAY now I don’t want these Assholes fucking with my youth and offering me shit on a plate. If they’re gonna fix this shit they better do it now, before I’m in a wheelchair trying to reach my walker. We only have one life to live and from my research I feel Obama/Biden are the ones to Vote for in this next Election.

  53. 153

The taxes may be the least of our problems no matter who gets elected president.

  54. 154

Ummm that doesn't make you patriotic. I am not wealthy, but I do work hard and I don't feel like that should mean that I should pay more. I think there should be one flat tax and possibly a cut back on some of the government funding that ends up with unemployed people. A month or two of help is fine, but years is ridiculous. I had medicade/medicare coming out of my paycheck every week when I couldn't afford health insurance. I found out I was pregnant and my husband and I were $80 over in monthly income to qualify…….we would have qualified if they would have subtracted what we were already paying towards medicade/medicare from our bottom line. Sad way our system works.

  55. 155

I don't like the word patriotic, but I am wealthy and am proud to do more than my share of the heavy lifting tax-wise.

Taxes are freaking LOW - they are low compared to US history, and they are low compared to most other industrialized nations. If anyone is complaining about our current tax rates, they are pathetic whiners.

I don't think anyone remembers what life was like before the Reagan Administration - now that was punitive taxation!

  56. 156

Of course it is patriotic for the wealthy to pay higher taxes! How about the IRS couple up with Apple or a Cruise Line? The rich can be rewarded with a cruise or an iPod…just as long as you're taking less money from me! A freelance writer…

  57. 157

this country need to tax the f*ck out of the rich people that have been enabled by their rich government friends to have gotten tax breaks all these years while us, the middle class ( john mccain thinks middle class earns between 1-3 MILLION- talk about being out of touch!!!) bear the tax burden year after year.
something need to change.. this country ( sad to say) is a total mess right now.

  58. 158

I wouldn't say it's more patriotic than joining the military or dying for your country, but patriotism works in many different ways. Think back to WWII and the victory gardens. Fact is, the country's economy sucks right now. I have a brother who has worked at AIG for 15 years and I cannot even begin to tell you what he's been going through the past few days. The wealthy simply are able to give more money to the country in the form of taxes to help shape up the economy, and thus, in a sense, making sacrifices for the ultimate good of the country is, in fact, patriotic.

  59. 159

If you use it, you should pay for it. If you buy more, you should be taxed more.

  60. 160

I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU'RE NOT RIDING HIS ASS HARDER???!!!! If this was McCain's campaing you'd be having a shit attack! I work way to hard to be taxed more to compensate for FUCKING LAZY PEOPLE WHO SIT ON THEIR ASS AND WANT THE GOVERNMENT TO PAY FOR THEIR 9 KIDS!!!! GET A FUCKING JOB AND WE WON'T HAVE TO GET HIGHER TAXES…AND DON'T SAY THAT THERE ARE NO JOBS BC THERE ARE!!!

Are you going to school to work for free or to get a career and try to make some money? Is your goal to make under $250,000, or as much as you can?

  63. 163

Sounds like Perez might be one of those people over $250K and it is gonna hurt because he is probably not quite to the level of his elite hollywood gossip providers. Everyone thinks Obama will be good, but he will waste more money that the Republicans in office. Higher taxes equals less money in everyones pocket, less extra income to boost the economy through spending and investment, less jobs (consider your employer will have to pay more taxes, so there goes a couple of jobs and other short falls will just be passed on to the consumers- wherein those who did receive a tax cut will just have to pay for the trickle down of compaines' higher taxes.) Consider also a tax on just the rich (the people who own the business that employ you), those rich people will probably just pass those taxes on to customers and employees through lay-offs.

Abortion is not an issue, Roe v. Wade has been around for 25 years people. Its not going anywhere. It all really comes down to economy and energy.

  64. 164

Its patriotic I think because we don't balance our budget, and if they paid more maybe we could. and if there was a little extra, we could use it to pay off a tiny bit of our MASSIVE debt. We wonder why there are so many citizens who missuse credit cards- our government does not set the best example that way.

  65. 165

Why shouldn't we all just pay the same percentage. Naturally those who make more are going to pay more, but there would at least be some equality. If the government would quit giving breaks to big business and penalize for outsourcing the would certainly make up the difference.

  66. jefdo says – reply to this

Joe Biden is an idiot!!! lol He doesn't think b4 he says things!!
    McCain/Palin 08

  68. 168

why should the wealthy get taxed more….they worked their asses off to make the money that they do. technically they already pay more money since taxes are percentages of your income so someone make $500,000 a year is paying more in taxes then someone who makes $35,000 a year. why not treat everyone the same and not punish those that worked their butts off to get to where they are today just to help someone who is probably too lazy to go out and find a job. if you lost your job than yeah that sucks and you should be helped but the sad truth is majority of welfare money and help goes to those who dont even try and dont deserve the help. my mom raised 4 kids on a single parent salary and we managed just fine….none of us starved or ran around naked so excuse me if i find it difficult to sympathize for some of these people.

  69. 169

the majority of Americans will be getting a tax break with Obama's plan. those who have to pay higher taxes, i'm sure then can more than afford it if they are making over $250,000 a year. many middle class Americans are really struggling financially, especially if they have kids in college with the college prices, with the high gas prices and the way the economy is going. the middle class and lower class Americans are the ones who need the tax break. Some of the lower and middle class Americans work just as hard, if not harder than those upper class Americans, and they are the ones struggling.

  70. Ammie says – reply to this

    170

There is a limited amount of money in the world. Those who have a great deal of money get it off the backs of everyone else. I believe that it is disgraceful to be super wealthy. Those who give some of their money away are doing what they should do . . . giving money back to those it came from.

  71. 171

As a self-employed American, I pay over 35% in taxes on an income that technically qualifies as poor. A millionare's taxes cap out at $90,000, which puts the wealthiest Americans in a 20% tax bracket. I pay almost twice as much (ratio-wise) in taxes as the top 1% of the country? Fair? Fuck no! The poorest people are putting in most of the money. So much for the American dream! Tax the rich! Tax the rich! As least tax them as much as the poor.

  72. 172

Re: Kate36 – Sure they can probably "afford it", but you fail to consider the consequences of raising taxes and only consider the immeidate affect on you. We are not just talking about taxes on the weathly, we are also talking about taxes on businesses. Again, so the businesses are going to have less money to pay employees, so who is going to get hurt? The small guy, the worker, those who would receive the tax cut. A tax cut would be great, but in reality the consequence would be you either don't have a job or have to take a pay cut. Also, do you think the rich aren't just gong to pass that on to the regular consumers… you are wrong.

Perez for example charges your small little company $100 to place an ad on his website. Now the government is rasing his taxes, so now he can no longer afford food for Teddy. So what does he do, he passes the taxes on to your company by charging $125 for advertising. If you are the employee… he lays off one person to pay for the taxes and Teddy or he comes to you and says, sorry you are gong to have to take a pay cut.. Now you are out of a job or get paid even less not because Obama taxed the rich. But hey, you got a tax cut. What good is that if you are out of a job or get paid less? Get the picture?

  73. 173

    Re: Jenny2 – Well Said!!!!!

  74. 174

I agree with Biden! If you're lucky enough to have the capacity to be "wealthy," you should help the middle-class out!

  75. 175

Re: Kate36 – I couldn't agree with you more Kate! Obama's plan works and makes sense. He is protecting lower and middle class America, which is plenty of us! Wouldn't it be wonderful to be upper class? Yes, but if I was, I would also have the right sense to realize that I was lucky and privledged to have that kind of wealth, and that plenty of plenty of plenty of people are not so lucky. It boggles my mind that Republicans only care about protecting the rich from losing their upper-class status.

  76. 176

Re: hollyholly8 – See Comment 3 above yours.

  77. 177

WHY should the "rich" (whatever that means) get taxed more ding dong?
FACT: the top 1% of all income earners in the US pay 40% of all taxes
FACT: the top 25% of all income earners pay 86% of taxes
FACT: the top 50% of all income earners pay 97% of all taxes

I work 60+ hours and then I have to turn around and give a huge chunk away to the government who then turns around and gives it away because I'm considered "rich" (which I'm not) and they want to tax me even more?

  78. 178

If the tax rate for everyone were 15% high income people would still pay much more in taxes than the poor.
    .
As it is, 42% of Americans don't pay any taxes.
    .
When Obama says returning tax money to lower income people he's not giving them back their money — they never paid any taxes! He's stealing from the hardest workers and giving their money to the lower income workers in an attempt to buy their vote!
    .
When you have the rich pay a higher and higher percentage of their income you're just stealing from them and punishing them for working hard.
    .
    Atlas may shrug yet.

  79. 179

Why should the rich pay higher taxes? Flat tax rate for all! You want equality? We want tax equality!

  80. 180

I agree, we should as Americans pay our fair share. We should hold AIG and other companies responsible for their shady ways. The rich should pay their taxes as a responsible Americans. But at the same time hold the gov't accountable if it spends our money unwisely, yep that's including you Bush.

  81. 181

The last 8 years haven't been fiscally responsible… and if McCain gets elected… we're in a whole heap of trouble. McCain's campaign financial adviser, Phil Gramm, is solely responsible for the financial mess we're in right now. He's also responsible for the ENRON Loophole. The Republican party is a mess… and this is coming for a former Republican.

  82. 182

    Amen, Perez!

  83. 183

I think if you can afford to pay more you should pay more.

  84. 184

Re: Bdub – FINALLY. Someone gets it.

  85. 185

the top 2% of wage earners pay 50% of all taxes!!!!!!!!!!!! How is that fair???? Punish success?? We should all quit our jobs and be taken care of …PEREZ could take care of us all with all his money……

  86. 186

This man is an idiot. Michelle Orangutan Obama probably chose him becasue he is a total nobody, a typical loser that will be a pupett to Obama and his infaumous friends.

His words remind me of what leaders of communists countries always preached…Sacrifice…sacrifice….Patria o Muerte, Venceremos!!!!

He can kiss my capitalist ass!

  87. 187

LOL Do you even know how to file a tax return?? There are tax brackets in place. The lower your income the lower your tax bracket. Companies and corporations do not pay their tax, you the consumer does. So if they are taxed high then they raise prices. I think some of you need to take a rudimentary economics class if you feel compelled to comment on it.

  88. 188

no, fuck that, 1. bracketed taxes are the worst ever- what happened to the "american dream" of immigrants coming to america where streets were "paved with gold" working their way up from nothing… making money only to give it away the richer andmore successful you become? and then why the fuck am i going to college, and looking into grad schools if all my hard work is just going to be taken away by the government?- or even worse- those on welfare… fuck it, im dropping out of school and moving tothe inner city, get knocked up, claim more children on my tax returns, because those of you going to school right now… hey, theyll just pay for my welfare!!!! GENIUS!!!
no good deed goes unpunished, huh?

According to the Center for Responsive Politics,
the top three U.S. senators getting big Fannie and
    Freddie political bucks were Democrats.
    .

No. 2 was Sen. Barack Obama,
who as Fox noted had only been in the
Senate four years but still managed to
grab that No. 2 spot ahead of longtime
colleagues John Kerry and Chris Dodd,
    the chairman of the
    Senate Banking Committee.
    .
    On May 25, 2006,

    McCain spoke on behalf

    of the Federal Housing

    Enterprise Regulatory

    Reform Act of 2005,

    and warned against the

    debacle we are

now facing if it failed to pass.

    .

    McCain warned,

    “If Congress does not act,

    American taxpayers will continue

to be exposed to the enormous risk

that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pose

    to the housing market,

    the overall financial system,

and the economy as a whole.”
    .
Barack Obama has the nerve to
blame this mess on the Repubs and
    the mainstream press is only
    too happy to help him.

It actually makes sense. We've had 8 years of the wealthy being taxed low, while the government goes ABOVE AND BEYOND to protect their interests. ALL while spending BILLIONS on fully fundng a war! INSANE.

If you look at the tax plan, you'll see that the amount of money we are talking about is insignificant to the wealthy. These are not people who will have to decide weather to eat or not. I also agree that we should expect our next administration to be good stewards of our economic situation. Compare this to McCain's tax plan and you will see the wealthy paying less taxes……….same ole republican politics.

  91. 191

    accountability in Washington is patriotic.

    Re: Roseygirl
    .
Dear Rosey, please get informed about FACTS, and stop repeating what the puppet masters want you to think.
    .
The top 1% of earners in the USA pay 39.89% of all income tax paid!
    .
The top 1% — the rich — pay more than the bottom 90% combined! You have to be insane to think the rich aren't taxed enough — or you're a thief!
    .
The top 5% pay 60.14% of all income taxes.
    .
The top 10% pay 70.79% of all income tax paid.
    .
The bottom 50% — 1/2 of all taxpayers! — only pay less than 3% of all income tax paid.
    .
In fact, there are millions of people who get money back, despite paying nothing to begin with! That means they are just allowed to steal from people who worked harder.
    .
Have some decency and stop supporting legalized stealing. Moreover, have a little faith in yourself and start working harder — you don't have to be at the bottom forever. In fact, as people get older, and get more experience, they start making more money.
    .
My mother and my wife and her family are all naturalized citizens, and we all started out dirt poor. No one gave us anything and we never took government benefits. But we worked hard and sacrificed, and now we're living the American dream.

  93. 193

if you make more money, you should pay more money.

  94. 194

Wealthy Americans already pay most of the taxes. Forty percent pay nothing. It needs to be a bit more equal. Russian immigrants I have met say they had more freedom in Russia. There should be no loopholes and a flat tax for the rate people earn. Say 25%. There would be more revenue then the IRS receives now.

  95. 195

Re: inkognito – This is funny to blame one person solely for the financial crisis. Plenty of democrats voted for this bill, including John Edwards, Joe Biden, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, etc. Clinton signed this into law, maybe he should have paid more attention to what he was doing? Oh wait ,he was to busy with an intern… Also, what about the companies who made the loans, companies that used our money to buy bad paper, the people that committed mortgage fraud, the people that took out loans they knew they could not afford? There are way more people involved that one person. Other people who supported, Gramm-Leach-Bliley: Robert Rubin, Larry Summers, Gene Sperling — Obama Economic Advisers Who Met With Obama Today. Way to many people involved to blame one man.

Oh yea and who has good economic advisers? Obama's include Franklin Delano Raines, former Fannie CEO and James A. Johnson, former CEO of Lehman and Fannie.

Needless to say, the economy is jacked no matter who you consider.

    Re: AnnInWonderland
At least you're honest about being in wonderland.
    .
If we all paid the same rate the people who make more would pay more.
    .
Why do you think people who make more should have to pay a higher percentage of their income?
    .
Why do you think so many people should be able to get away with paying nothing?

    Re: shirleyfeeney – heehee

  98. 198

so i paid for my own college education - every penny, I also paid for grad school - evey penny. I worked 3 jobs and although it took me 6 yrs to complete undergrad and 4 to comple grad, I now have to pay for those who choose not to take the same path. Total rubbish, I pay quite a bit in taxes every year, I do not need to pay more. Here is a thought, those of you who wish to pay additional taxes, just check the box on the tax forms and feel free to pay the AMT, stop asking those who already pay to pay more. YOU have the ability to pay more feel free -
