4 Dead, 2 Injured - Travis Barker & DJ A.M. Hurt But Survive Fatal Plane Crash

This is heartbreaking! So tragic.
Travis Barker was involved in a fatal private plane crash in Columbia, South Carolina early on Saturday morning, killing four and injuring two.
The former Blink 182 drummer is said to be one of the two injured.
Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen says the plane carrying six people was departing shortly before midnight Friday when air traffic controllers reporting seeing sparks.
She says the plane went off the runway and crashed on a nearby road.
Bergen says the Lear 60 was headed to Van Nuys, Calif.
She didn't have the names of those killed and didn't know the conditions of the two people injured.

We are hearing that D.J. A.M. was also on the plane at the time of the crash.

Update #2: Travis is in "critical" condition.
He's been transfered to the Agusta, Georgia Burn Center. We pray that his injuries are not severe.

Of the six people involved in the fatal plane crash, they were the only two that survived!
So incredibly sad about those lost.
Update #4: An airport spokesperson says the plane - a small lear jet - crashed just after take off a little before midnight Friday. It appears the plane was attempting to take off, ran off the runway, through a fence, and hit an embankment along Highway 302.
The plane then caught fire.
Our heart goes out to the family and friends of those who passed. Their names have yet to be released.
Update #5: Gavin DeGraw and Perry Farrell were also at the concert Travis and A.M. were performing at. It is unknown at this time if either of theme were also on the plane.
Update #6: Federal officials say two crew members and two passengers were killed. They are three males and one female.
Details are still unknown as to what caused the crash.

Four people are confirmed dead and two of them are the crew. I just went to the MTV site and there was nothing about anyone else being dead and nothing about who all was on that plane with the two survivors. Of course that could change any minute, but so far, not.

Because they are in the public eye, while the other passengers may have been managers or "average joes", does that devalue the lives of the deceased in some way? Four innocent people died, but you seemed pretty relieved when you found out that the victims may have been "nobodies". I think that speaks volumes about your character…

Gavin's next show is set for NM next week. Would make perfect sense that he'd be on that plane……..or maybe he had his bus with him for the drive with the band. SOOOOOOO hope it's the bus.

This is really fucked up. It sounds like Travis and AM are hurt very, very badly. I really hope they pull through this. I am afraid that we are going to find out that Perry and McGraw were two out of the three males killed on this flight. Sad.

It is incredibly sad when anyone is injured or loses their life, but I think it is insensitive to say that God was with some and not others.
i remember, way back when i was a huge blink fan, reading about travis saying that he hated being on planes and needed to drink a bit before getting on them….
it's so horrible that his fear actually realized itself!
plus I really hope the people weren't his family members since he already lost his mom. It's still horrible if anyone is dead of course….

Apparently Gavin was hanging out at a bar in Columbia at 2am, so it appears he was not on the plane.
Barker, 32, reportedly was taken to a burn center in Augusta, Georgia, and was listed in critical condition Saturday morning.
Hospital officials also confirmed that DJ AM (real name: Adam Michael Goldstein), was also admitted to the burn unit, in critical condition.
Wikipedia had Perry Farrell's info stating he died on September 20th 2008 and Gavin DeGraw's said he died on September 19th in a plane crash… Then it went away a few minutes later. I don't know if they were wrong or if they shouldn't have released information yet.
It has been confirmed Shana Moakler was the female killed.The other three were the pilot the copilot and Travis assistant.R.I.P SHANA WE LOVE YOU.

Just saw an eyewitness account on the news from a motorist passing by as the plane crashed. He saw two men dumped out of the plane standing in the road on fire - both hitting each other to put the flames out.
The woman was a crew member from Cali - one of the men was the other crewmember from Carlsbad, CA (San Diego area).
OMG ..this is..uh terrible, not another DJ and some retarded tatooed up douche we can't lose anymore of those…not during these terrible economic times..

This is crazy…my husband and some of his friends were in 5 points last night and saw Barker and Dj AM and Perry and Gavin. He is shocked right and still hung over. They hung out with them for a few minutes before they left. He said those guys were really cool. My prayers are with everyone's families right now.

"Both Travis Barker and Adam Goldstein are in critical but stable condition," Beth Frits, spokesperson for the Joseph M. Still Burn Center, tells PEOPLE. "Goldstein was airlifted here and Barker was brought by ground transportation. So they arrived separately."
