John McCain and his wife, Cindy own a whopping THIRTEEN cars, including foreign-made automobiles.
Why do they need that many cars?????
By contrast, Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, only have one car to their name.

Re: JenBunny711 – her dad worked hard for it, then gave it to his kid- anything wrong there?
White privilege is being able to give a 36 minute speech in which you talk about lipstick and make fun of your opponent, while laying out no substantive policy positions on any issue at all, and still manage to be considered a legitimate candidate, while a black person who gives an hour speech the week before, in which he lays out specific policy proposals on several issues, is still criticized for being too vague about what he would do if elected.
–Author Tom Wise
White privilege is being able to graduate near the bottom of your college class (McCain), or graduate with a C average from Yale (W.) and that's OK, and you're cut out to be president, but if you're black and you graduate near the top of your class from Harvard Law, you can't be trusted to make good decisions in office.
Author Tom Wise
Re: Leona$ Gho$t – lots of people at the top of their harvard law classes couldn't be trusted to be president… not relevant
WHO CARES …..He has a large family 7 kids. Democrats are LOOKING for ANYTHING to smear McCain. Obamma is WEAK and will NEVER bepresident
Re: secondcoming – Well you have a point. But what IS relevant is to have someone with an ABOVE AVERAGE intellect in the role for a change. Surely that's not too much to ask. Well, never mind…most voters I'm afraid will be so stupid as to vote on the size of a candidate's flag lapel pin! Have you noticed that Sarah's keeps getting larger, dear? Before we know it the dimensions will rival one of Madalyn Albright's famous brooches.
KevinK [261] says: Obama's maternal grandfather was a veteran also. And Cindy McCain cannot be First Lady, because she is, firstly, a thief. –
Ok but Obama's grandfather isn't running for office. So it's highly irrelevant. And your comments about McCain's Wife are by and large sow feed.
:l
It was NOT irrelevant for me to comment to Jesus_is_a_Republican that Obama's grandfather was a veteran, because he stated in his post that McCain fought for his country! he can have as many cars as he wants!! Hell we should give him our OWN cars for all he done for us!!! " Obama's grandfather fought for his country, as did hundreds of thousands of other Americans, so why should McCain be treated with any greater praise or reward than all others.
:l
And what kind of backwoods hillbilly hollar do you come from to be thinking anyone will accept your statement about that my comments about Cindy McCain are sow feed? You cannot deny that she has publicly admitted that she stole narcotics from a medical charity. That makes her a thief, by definition. I think the sow feed is something you have been eating a little too much of.
:l
Harry Truman never went to college and he is considered one of our great modern Presidents by both Democrats and Republicans
Re: Leona$ Gho$t – With all due respect, to you and Tom Wise….the amount of speech time, the school and class rank/GPA, not to mention the race, color, creed or gender…makes absolutely no difference to me.
Give me a candidate who says what he believes and believes what he says…and, then follows through with his/her promises, after being elected. That's all that I want. Is that asking for too much?
Re: secondcoming –
I NOTICE YOU DON'T HAVE AN ANSWER
FOR #404.
Sin
PoisonBitchyIvy [251] says: "…obama sucks and he stole our money thru fannie and freddy…"
:l
You fool. It was McCain who stole from you through Charles Keating and the Lincoln Savings and Loan collapse.

Re: Anonymous –

Well to answer your question, sadly history has proven that the answer is…
YES!
.
.
So I would suggest looking for the least amount of HYPOCRISY in a candidate and voting for that person, whomever you decide that to be.

Yours truly, LG

Re: uraPIGperez "Anyone with half a brain could figure out that Rev. Wright was old and senile, so find something better to criticize Obama for than something so lame." – #348
–
Yes, anyone with half a brain would come to that conclusion. Fortunately I have a WHOLE brain so I know that Wright is NOT senile, he is AN AMERICA-HATING RACIST who preaches Black Liberation Theology based on the writings of James Cone. Black Liberation Theology = Violent Marxism.
–
Cone's/Wright's "Black Liberation Theology" states that it is the Black intellectual's job to "aid in the destruction of America as he knows it." In Cone's book he says, "While it is true that blacks do hate whites, black hatred is not racism."
–
Obama attended Wright's church for ALMOST 20 YEARS.
–
Wright used to be the Obama campaign's Spiritual Advisor… before O had to distance himself.
–
Obama still does not denounce Wright. And you don't care. Pathetic.
Re: sweetpiece "As a young pilot he is a hot dog and caused the death of over 130 brave men. He was just fucking around and launched the bomb that ruptured the tank , that set the fire in motion! " – #370
–
That is a LIE which has already BEEN DISCREDITED BY FACTCHECK.ORG.
–
Why do you keep repeating LIES in your posts?
Who cares how many cars any of them have - what does that have to do with who is qualified to be our president (McCain) and who is not quailfied (Obama)?
Re: AustenT – Don't worry abou tit Austen - in a month or so John McCain will only have one house and that will be the White House. YESS!!!
Re: Bavaria – #382
–
Really? Then why is it that Republicans give more to charity, by orders of magnitude, than do Democrats?
Re: SquirrelLives – Keep trying to link McCain to famous names. It will not make him any brighter or more qualified.
He still will be a dull bulb.
No doctor in the world, with all of Cindy's money will make him smart.
You same people tried to defend GW 8 years ago. Then you did it again, 4 years ago. And you are trying to defend a dumbshit again! Wow, talk about hitting your head against a wall? You can't believe in change because you don't know how to do it! It isn't in your genetic code.
MCCAIN MORE OF THE SAME!
MCCAIN MORE OF THE SAME!
MCCAIN MORE OF THE SAME!
MCCAIN MORE OF THE SAME!
Re: sweetpiece – I don't know what you are talking about.
-
Obama is a crack smoking fag.
-
Look at the cars he owns….a 2001 honda sedan, 2 jeep wranglers, a truck, a caddy, she has a lexus….its not like they are all luxury vehicles, most are ranch vehicles…people need to stop worrying about what the candidates own and focus on the politics…Obama simply does not have enough experience…the dems should have nominated Hillary…but they are too stupid to see that…that is the real issue
Re: Smirks – I do not believe it is a lie. He was involved and his father whisked him away before the crew could get him. This is true.
YOU'RE NEVER GONNA CONVINCE ME THAT BOTH BARACK AND MICHELLE OBAMA DON'T ALWAYS HAVE A CAR AT THEIR DISPOSAL WHILE IN BOTH CHICAGO AND DC.
.
PROBABLY TAX PAYER PURCHASED RUNNING TAXPAYER BOUGHT GAS!!!!
.
LEECHES!!
.
I DON'T KNOW WHO'S NAME THOSE CARS MAY BE IN, BUT I GUARANTEE YOU THAT THEY'RE NOT WALKING OR TAKING PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION EVERYWHERE THEY GO IN DC.
.
OR THAT WHILE IN CHICAGO THEY SAY, 'HONEY, ARE YOU USING THE CAR TODAY?'
.
PLUS - ARE YOU REALLY BAGGIN ON PEOPLE FOR OWNING FOREIGN CARS? ARE YOU SAYING ALL THOSE TOYOTA CAR BUYERS ARE COMMIES?
.
Yes, we SHOULD focus more on the issues. But sadly, politicians are hypocrites. It shouldn't really matter how many cars or houses a presidential candidate has.
However, McCain has repeatedly called Obama "elitist" and has criticized and mocked him for his "elite Hollywood friends" (McCain especially mocked the recent Barbra Streisand fundraiser for Obama).
So, how does having 9 houses, 13 cars, and receiving large campaign donations from celebrities like Tom Selleck, Jon Voight, and others make you NOT AN ELITIST. Such a grumpy, petty old hypocrite.
Re: Smirks –
COULD IT BE BECAUSE THEY STEAL MORE?
Re: sweetpiece – #423
–
If you aren't going to believe factcheck.org, it's pointless arguing with you because you are a fact denier, and not interested in truth.
This according to breitbart.com:
New poll shows strong support for improving US standing in the world, setting timetable for Iraq withdrawal and talking to enemies." A large majority of Americans (81% of Republicans and 88% of Democrats) believe improving the U.S. standing in the world should be a "very important" foreign policy goal; — Americans on both sides of the aisle endorse talking to leaders of "unfriendly" governments including Cuba (70%), North Korea (68%), Iran (65%), Burma (63%) and Zimbabwe (61%); — A majority of Americans (67%) do not support an open-ended commitment to Iraq."
.
I hope this can occur no matter who's in office. Right now, I'm worried. Both are stretching the truth and promising things that more than likely will not happen. Both are spewing rhetoric and BS to us. We need a "tea party". Change is needed, NOW.
Re: SquirrelLives –
I think you must have him confused with your…
FATHER!!!!!
Re: _Alice_ –
Heya Alice!! How was your trip? Count me on on your tea party!
Re: SquirrelLives – "A crack-smoking fag?" Are you kidding me? Your ignorance is disgusting; where you are you getting this information from? Also, you are obviously misinformed about a lot, since you claim Truman was a great "modern" (even though he served 60 years ago?) President, yet he killed thousands of innocent people? Do you also think George W. Bush is a great president?
perez you need to stop deleting my comments you fat fuck.
Re: Leona$ Gho$t – Hehe. Always a possiblity, LG, always a possibility.
Re: Smirks – Hey Smirks!
Oh no, haven't left yet. My flight leaves wednesday and I'm in the states for about 2 weeks. So, I will be missing a lot because I'm going to a place where internet access will be minimal. But I will have tv, thank goodness. I will just miss ALL the debates coming up. Very sad.
And yes, we need a freaking "tea party"! Both these candidates are the weakest that either party has ever put up for us. Well, maybe with the exception of Dole and Kemp. They sucked.
Re: Smirks – 427 Factcheck states emails are false. Read the reports for yourself and watch the film which. I have and can not believe anyone would follow this man.
Re: sweetpiece – #436

How deliberately and willfully obtuse can one person be? You amaze me. SMH
–
Did you read factcheck's report in its ENTIRETY? It concludes that McCain was NOT responsible for the Forrestal disaster.
–
I have watched TWO documentaries and plenty of film on the Forrestal (my husband served on a carrier) and it was a tragedy that CAN NOT BE BLAMED ON MCCAIN.
–
You are one of the most truth-averse posters I have ever seen.
Hmmm…why so many cars? Because this is America, and if you have the cash, you can buy what you want……it's called Capitalism……is you want a one car or one kid policy, go to Communist China…..or just go back home to Cuba! Besides, don't all the rappers you idolize own the same amount, maybe Jay Leno and Jerry Seinfeld, too…….why aren't you up their asses with a telescope…..McCain's are gonna have Air Force 1, too!!!!!

I CARE!! If someone wants to run this country they need to know the REAL america.. Not everyone is rich like them- and all they want to do is make the rich richer… Mccain is only going to further fuck up the economy. And what about the environment?? Does anyone care about that anymore??
Re: _Alice_ –
Gah! Two weeks without Alice? Ohnoes!!!! lol. Seriously though, I'll miss your calm even-handed take on events. If I don't see you on here again before you leave, have a GREAT trip, and holla when you're back
Re: Leona$ Gho$t – You know it, Sistah! Yes, we should. You are just the type of person I like
Re: hollyholly8 – Post 432
To some degree yes.
Re: Smirks – Awww, you're so nice! But I think you'll see me until tomorrow night at least. Perez is like crack and I will be here until I have to go!
I try to be reasonable most of the time but people, dems and repubs, seem to gobble up the rhetoric and not question it. I don't get it. I lean towards the left but I can see that Obama is not what he says he is. Same with McCain. He has done and said things that I think people should question. We can't have a TRUE change until we wake up and realize that our system is broken. And realize that we won't get a real change without questioning and DEMANDING a change to our system. I'm insulted we only have these 2 clowns to choose from. How on Earth can we truly change with these 2? They spin, lie, and are just as corrupt as Bush and Cheney. ALL politicians are in it to win it. They don't care about us little people. They line their own pockets and court big oil. They are all the same. Yet every election year we think it will be different. It won't be.
Re: hollyholly8 – Post 432
I never said Truman was great. I said he never went to college and many Democrats and Republicans consider him a great President. An yes, I call him a modern President because he served during the atomic age, the birth of the television age and post Great Depression.
Re: hollyholly8 – Post 432
And yes he cooked hundreds of Japanese, but they started it with Pearl Harbor. We finished it with those bombs. For better or worse, he ended the war and brought victory home. Victory - something most of you care little about.
Re: _Alice_ –
I couldn't agree more. Regardless of who wins it'll be a "grin and bear it" for another four years. I have no doubt that whomever wins, it'll be a one term presidency. Maybe we'll have better choices in 2012, but I share your pessimism there. Although a Hillary/Palin match-up would be very, very entertaining. Sad that I think of the entertainment value, but that's what it's come down to, unfortunately.

I'm out for now… cya later : )

REPUBLI-CON VP candidate Sarah Palin has hushed up a series of scandals including her own brother-in-law's shocking criminal past!

After the Alaska governor was named John McCain's running mate, she disclosed her husband Todd had been arrested for drunk driving in 1986 -

Yeah, Cindy is rich but the claim that they "worked hard for it" is Laughable, Her family came by their wealth the same way most 1% ( one percenters) have w/ that kind of $….. ILLEGALLY!!!! Cindy's father, James Hensley was MOBBED UP. So yeah, they can own all the cars they want but lets not delude ourselves people. The lesson here obviously is that "crime is a rational choice" in order to get ahead in America…tongue in cheek of course.

Re: bease1 –
No person with conscious owns that many cars today eh? Then why does Jerry Seinfeld have like an entire building just to store all his vehicles? Why does Jay Leno have so many? Why weren't DJ AM & Travis on a commercial airplane sandwiched in with all the regular riff-raff instead of a private jet…. BECAUSE ALL PEOPLE WITH MONEY SPEND IT. They all splurge and treat themselves to things they like. Tell me Diddy or Puffy or whatever he is this week isn't wasting fuel or being mean to the environment out on his yachts.
Nowadays it is impossible to become President without a lot of $$$ so anyone running is going to be "out of touch with the masses." Neither McCain or Obama go home and take the phone off the hook so collectors will leave them alone or suffer in pain rather than spend money on an ER visit or Dr. Co-pay. It's a stupid argument. Neither of them are living a hard life right now.

Who wrote that staement Cone or Wright? And also to complete the thought, I do not defend BLT,however; the FULL CONTEXT of that line is emancipating blacks from the mental slavery that they are unworthy and lazy. For blacks to work together & build up their community despite any perceived road blocks i.e. Racism.
Re: bease1 – so dumbass why dont you check your facts before you spout off…typical liberal….why not get a real job and worry about something important like the fact that an inexperienced person with ties to radical muslims is running for president? You want to check that fact? You can read Obama bin Bidens book - he supposedly wrote it himself for millions……
why would anyone need that many cars? mccain sucks anyways obama rocks!

Re: Minx – #454

Minx, you are one of the most intelligent posters on here and I typically enjoy your posts and point of view, although we mostly disagree. Please don't dabble in sophistry… it dilutes the good points you make.
–
I am not defending McCain in that post… I think EVERY candidates' associations should be viewed with a MICROSCOPE. We owe it to ourselves to find out the TRUTH, even when it disappoints us. If we choose to disregard the actions/thoughts of a candidate, so be it; but, we should make these decisions with full knowledge of what our candidates' flaws are, rather than being apologists, or attempting to obfuscate issues.
–
Keep your insights coming, though. You have made me think more than once with your posts
Re: Minx – PS - You can't fight racism with racism, imo.
Re: lraien –
Not every person with money spends it like a freebasing 13-year old. I have plenty of progressive, wealthy friends. Owning thirteen cars is pointless and in poor taste.
Jerry Seinfeld and Jerry Lewis?? Jesus Christ, get some better examples. They are hardly arbiters of good taste and moral example.
Re: jilly –
I have a real job. I own my own f*cking business. And what do you consider a real job? Being a corporate clod?
Radical Islam is hardly the greatest threat we face today, and YOU need to check your facts. Obama is an Ivy League grad and so what if he has ties to renegade religions? Christianity was a renegade religion once, and is a greater threat to us than Islam. Do you really think Obama supports 14 year old kids blowing themselves up clutching plastic keys to paradise? Do you not think he is intelligent enough to think beyond such dogma?
The point isnt that the Mccains have 13 cars and 9 houses,I mean Cindys father is rich and lucky ole Mccain dumped his sick wife for a rich woman,so I guess he got what he wanted. The point that needs to be made is that this typical scummy republicans like Mccain keeps saying Obama is an elitist in an effort to connect with his mainly poor ,uneducated southern and rural base,so thats where it becomes relevent. The more the rich Mccain can keep calling Obama and his one american car, elitist, the more it takes the focus off what a lowlife hypocrite Mccain is.
obama obama obama.
vote obama/biden 08
How in the HELL do you know how many cars the Obama's have? Why do you have a problem with someone who can afford what ever their heart's desire to have everything they want if they can afford it. The problem in this country is with people who CAN'T afford getting themselves in trouble with debt and then it becomes a burden for everyone. I know for a fact that they also donate MILLIONS to charity. How much do you donate Perez?? This is the U.S.A. and they are living the American dream, stop hating!! These are people who work for a living. Why do you feel they should not be allowed to enjoy the fruits of their labor?
Jealous!? He's got my vote!!!!
Re: knowitall – Typical scummy republicans are referring to intellectual elitism, not financial elitism.
Re: unknowngrrl – just because he has money and other people dont? maybe they should not have had such shitty mortgage rates and lost their houses. now whos fault is that? their own. not McCain's cause he knows how to handle money better. plus what does that have to do with his ability to run a country? i think none. religion is WAY more important apparently. i think we need a satanist Presidential candidate to shake things up a bit. i like it.
Post 457 459 SMIRKS
Google James Hensley and his AZ court dockets comes up to prove the mob ties.
As for being an apologist, please spare me I call it as i see it. And as I have said I do not support BLT nor do I "dabble" in sophistry. If you are going to cite a quote, I think it only fair to 1) cite the speaker and 2) cite the FULL context not only what suits you THAT is misleading.
Lastly, since your analyzing under a microscope then Call McCain out on HIS RACIST SPRIRTUAL ADVISOR that HE has NOT disconnected himself w/ Rod Parsley.
Lastly,
BTW,
Nowhere in anything I have stated, have I said it's ok to justify racism w/ racism. If you reread my post it clearly states PERCEIVED.
As you know as an independent I do take the time to analyze both sides and I have stated numerous times why McCain has lost my support. I also, do not tell people who to vote for ( not saying you do) and state facts when reading criticisms on this cite. BTW, for those really interested Michelle does not need the family care as they live only 2 blocks from U of C campus and hospitals and If you've been to Chicago No one drives downtown Most take the Metra or CTA. I have seen our Mayor and our governor on the Metra a few times. If we host the Olympics We are looking @ a nightmare when it comes to traffic but Chicago is worth it as it is a beautiful city.
Re: duhjovijr – [re=2905917]Re: Smirks – Post 467
Repubs don't take the time to distinguish what type of elitist Obama is and I think it Hypocritical to criticize Obama for working hard attending college W/O affirmative action and GRADUATING Magna b/c he has the mental capacity to do so while C student Bush squeaked by. Repubs send their kids to private schools AND have money ( most) so pot, meet kettle.
As for the HOUSING CRISIS:
Don't JUST blame the people that are first time buyers Niave as to how the market works NOT understanding adjustable mortgages etc. I think MOST blame Belongs on the shoulders of the BANKS and corporate heads that saw an opportunity to take advantage of this type of situation. When you also READ some of the mortgage scams that existed out there you would be sick to your stomach and NOW tax payers have to bail the BANKS out? Don't forget that 700bil is for the companies NOT the homeowners. The mortgages will be sold off to other lenders, that doesn't change the situation for those that owe this is why some analysts say that borrowers should be credited on some of their $$$ borrowed.
Re: Minx – #469
Thanks for the info on Hensley. I disagree with you that McCain's relationship with Parsley is comparable to that of Obama's with Wright:
–
At a campaign appearance in Cincinnati, McCain introduced Parsley as "one of the truly great leaders in America, a moral compass, a spiritual guide."
–
Firstly, he introduces Parsley as "a spiritual guid" not HIS spiritual guide. McCain did not attend Parsley's church for almost 20 years as Obama did Wright's. McCain seeking Parsley's endorsement was merely a sop to the Evangelicals; pure political expediency. Parsley is not in McCain's head in the way that Wright is in Obama's.
–
I hardly think that's a case of "pot, meet kettle".
Well, they do have a few kids first of all who can all drive, so I am sure some of those are for them. They also have multiple homes, so I am sure they have cars there. Cindy is loaded. Why don't you go bash celebs for having multiple cars? Again, it's mainly Cindy's money that is buying theses cars. How many cars do you think John Kerry and Heinz have?
wtf…even if you're rich why the fuck would you even need 13 car??? its a waste of money (which he has no problem getting unlike the rest of us) and gas. he doesn't even care about the planet or anything. no wonder why we use gas and oil a lot and why its so expensive, because people like john mccain go and buy 13 freakin cars and waste gas.
Re: StoneM – Bingo, well put StoneM…a little research helps if people truely want to comment on something so trivial. It"s America where people come to live that exact American dream. Multiple homes, cars, and whatever else their hard earn income will provide them.
