Palin to meet with Bono and World Leaders

Sexy Sarah, the woman who could potentially become second-in-command of the United States of America and who received her passport only last year, is about to receive a crash course in global affairs.
The Governor of Alaska is meeting with seven world leaders and former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger in New York City this week, while the U.N. General Assembly convenes.
Her whilrwind schedule includes a day of separate meetings with Kissinger, Colombian President Alvaro Uribe and Afghan President Hamid Karzai. On the second day she has a joint playdate with Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili and Ukrainian President Viktor Yuschenko, and then it's off to one-on-ones with Iraqi President Jalal Talabani, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
She has even penciled in a meeting with Bono from U2, who will probably prove the most accessible to the Alaska senator. We personally could not think of a more knowledgeable teacher of world affairs than a rock star.
Sexy Sarah is going to be in for an eye-opener, as icky subjects are sure to come up, including but certainly not limited to: violence and political unrest in Pakistan (Throw in some shaky relations with Italy for good measure!), war between Georgia and Russia over a contested province, the struggle against persistent Taliban forces in Afghanistan, and a little bit of US troops still stuck fighting in Iran to top it all off.
And whether or not Bono's stupid sunglasses are surgically attached to his face.

YOU CANNOT CURE poverty in geopolitically unstable countries run by dictators. It is a waste of money. The only way to make SURE it gets there is to bring it yourself and HAND it to a poor person- who will be bullied into giving it to the local despot. If you want to HELP Africa, you must make it stable and democratic. Ask anyone who has actually GONE to work in Africa. It isn't enough to say 10% of it goes to actual aid.

I have had a passporta long time, and been to a lot of foreign countries, even in the middle east, and I don't even TRY to figure out all that crap or why we put up with it. Actually, we should let THEM defends themselves and watch them get slaughtered- that's what a lot of Americans wanted to watch Saddam do rather than help the iraqis. Why should anyone give a crap about other countries any more- there is NO kumbayah singing or unicorns in foreign relations like liberals would have you believe would work. We either let them slug it out- which is really everyone vs israel these days- or we get involved and have our citizens get angry. OK, her "80% approval rate" was based on a poll of 500 people from the Wasilla and Anchorage areas (she was the mayor of Wasilla), which are both highly conservative areas. If you can find something that says otherwise then you should post the link, but this is what's been told to the Alaskan newspapers, and no one I know, or myself, remembers getting surveyed even though we live in the capital city! Many Alaskans have become quite disappointed in Palin as she has campaigned on an open and transparent government and then we find out she was doing state business on a personal e-mail account and will not cooperate with the legislature's ongoing investigation of her alleged abuse of power ('troopergate'). Instead, she wants the investigation to be conducted by three people (personnel board) that she elected when she took office.
