It's On!

Filed under: Politik > Barack Obama > John McCain

wenn2068614.jpg

Republican Presidential hopeful John McCain isn't ready to face his first presidential debate, set for this Friday in Mississippi.

As we mentioned earlier, McCain wants to "suspend" campaigning to go to Washington and "help negotiate a financial bailout bill, a dramatic move designed to seize a powerful issue."

But Barack Obama's side isn't having any of that!

A senior Obama campaign official has responded saying that Obama "intends to debate." Adding that, "The debate is on."

McCain is even going as far as calling on the Commission on Presidential Debates to postpone the debate scheduled for this week in order to "ensure quick congressional action."

In a statement released by McCain's camp, the potential future Pres says, “I have spoken to Senator Obama and informed him of my decision and have asked him to join me. I am calling on the president to convene a meeting with the leadership from both houses of Congress, including Senator Obama and myself. It is time for both parties to come together to solve this problem.”

When asked about McCain's plan to postpone the first debate because of the administration's bailout plan, chief debate negotiator, Democratic Rep. Rahm Emanuel, said that "we can handle both." Adding that progress is being made on Capitol Hill and that should not stop the debate from taking place.

Amen!!!!

An Obama campaign official added that Obama is willing to go to DC, "if it would be helpful," but stated that they still intend on debating this Friday as they see no need to postpone.

Mike DuHaime, McCain's campaign political director said McCain is "going to do what he thinks is right. He’ll make a vote as a leader in this country, and people will look to him."

DuHaime added:

“Quite frankly, I think you could ask Sen. Obama if he’s going to do what he thinks is right. I mean, he has never — I believe — never once made a decision that is an unpopular decision or went against the orthodoxy of his party, and was one that was a tough decision to make. . . . Sen. McCain has done that throughout his entire career, his entire life — not just in politics, but his life.

When you start talking about $10,000 per household or per family to go toward bailing out Wall Street, they have legitimate questions about it. People understand that that is a big thing and it affects them, and they do legitimately have questions about, is this really going to go to bail out companies or leaders of companies who now are relying on taxpayer dollars to bail them out, and are going to get these huge compensation packages after they come to the taxpayers for it.

There is some frustration, certainly, in that, and it’s understandable to say the least. And it has not been a quick rush to say yes or no. People understand the gravity of this, want to see it done right, while still understanding the timing factor.”

So what do U think?

Should the debate go on, or should McCain be allowed to go to DC and fight for what he believes in?

Anyone that thinks that McCain is afraid to debate Obama on foreign affairs is a frickin' moron. Regardless of which side you vote for, everyone knows who has more experience in this area. McCain is right that he needs to be in DC to work on what's best for America. Good to know before Election Day who will be the one willing to do the work and who will just show up and vote "present."

Re: Brendon – It's happening! It's happening! and started when you fund a war years ago, when oil prices started to fly. American wealth was handed out to oil producers countries and oil corporations. I wonder where were people like you when this started happening, bet voting republican on every election. Candidates in congress won't do any change, this was coming and government did nothing about it, they knew and they were warned. Same as Sep 9/11.

Guess who was in control of Fannie May…Democrats, guess who passed the Bill to make it so easy for everyone to get a loAN…Bill Clinton Ten Years ago..guess who warned US of this crisis coming, Republicans and McCain….
    -
You have yet to be dissapointed by Obama because HE HASN'T DONE ANYTHING, HASN'T PASSED ONE BILL AND JUST VOTED "PRESENT" 130 OF HIS 154 DAYS IN THE SENATE. HE HAS NO EXPEREINCE SO MAYBE DOING NOTHING DOESN'T DISSAPOINT YOU, MAYBE BEING FRIENDS WITH PEOPLE IN JAIL FOR CONSPIRING AGAINST 9/11 DOESN'T DISSAPOINT YOU, MAYBE A SENATOR WHO JUST SITS AROUND AND DOESN'T MAKE AN DECISIONS DOESN'T DISSAPOINT YOU, BUT I FIND THAT PRETTY FUCKING DISSAPOINTING
    -
NOT TO MENTION PRESIDENT BUSH JUST ASKED BOTH MCCAIN AND OBAMA TO BE IN WASHINGTON DC TOMORROW, BUT OF COURSE OBAMA WOULD RATHER DO NOTHING…..HERE'S SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT…DOING NOTHING IS PRETTY DAMN DISAPOINTING WHEN YOU'RE ELECTING A PRESIDENT…I'LL BE A WENCH WHO KNOWS WHAT THE FUCK SHE'S TALKING ABOUT AND YOU'LL STILL BE AN IDIOT WHO AS LONG AS NO ONE DOES ANYTHING, YOU'LL HAVE NOTHING TO BE DISAPPOINTED ABOUT, HOW CONVENIENT!

  7. 307

jefdo, out of context? If you bought McCain's "I ..er…I …meant the American workers are strong. Oops." speech, then I must question your sanity as well. Of course the American workers are strong, Senator McCain. No one has ever doubted their strength. Those American workers do not have jobs because of that "strong economy" has crumbled right before our eyes. McCain has said the same remark in the past. Look it up yourself. Fact check it. Use google…

  8. 308

So Barack reached out to McCain and say let's issue a JOINT statement on the economy crisis, McCain retorts: "Let's postpone the debates" WHY? The debate is on Foreign Policy and this economic crisis touches on that as well (considering we'd be bailing out foreign banks as well). Since both are running for President, Presidential arguments will IMO overshadow the crisis. While I think we should bail them out, I DO NOT support a rushed bailout w/ no clause nor tight guidelines where we the people give $ and get nothing in return. Per Obama : "It's my belief that this is exactly the time when the American people need to hear from the person will be the next president," Obama said in Clearwater, Florida. "It is going to be part of the president's job to deal with more than one thing at once. It's more important than ever to present ourselves to the American people. If I can be helpful, then I'm prepared to be anywhere, any time. … [I] don't want to infuse Capitol Hill with presidential politics." And yes, I agree with him, the debates should go on, our President will need to know how to MULTI- TASK just like the rest of us and with what 5 weeks left to election day, It's TIME WE START addressing ALL the issues and HEAR where both candidates stand. Both are debriefed by their party on this issue every single day. And this bailout shouldn't be rushed through in 3 days or a week, I think a thoughtful, comprehensive approach is needed to handle this.

  9. 309

Re: honeybee #290 – Fundamentals of the economy would refer to the principles, the structure of the economy. That is what he meant is strong; a free market, not a government controlled one. We need to make sure that they come up with something to prevent more taxpayer responsibility. You're trying to pin him down as saying the status of the economy is strong. Big difference. I see it as Obama being the one only focused on winning. He wants to wait until after the election to deal with things, not when it is necessary to prevent more of an economic breakdown than we've got!

Re: mellybelly323 – Many questions and statements can be made in this debate in the middle of the crisis that would make many people make up their mind about who they are going to vote. Questions and Statements that won't be valid after a decision on the 700$ billion Wall Street diaper change takes its course. McShame must talk about his ideals and his party and the messed up president that he agreed most of the time and got us all in this situation. Debates are on!

  13. 313

at least McCain is going back to work I think if Obama goes with him they can debate there……………………….remember we are paying their salary to help us

  14. 314

    Re: Obama sucks,

Obama has turned down McCain's offers for a "town-hall" type meeting. The debates that truly matter are the official debates. I do not blame Obama for turning McCain's offer down. I do not believe a word that comes out of his mouth. McCain and Palin have lied to the American people numerous times during their ads, during the RNC, and during their stump speeches. Even after their lies were fact-checked numerous times and were indeed lies, they continued to run the same ads, and feed the American public the same false lines at their rallies. I would never be able to trust a man who runs a dirty campaign. I would be ashamed to call him President.

  15. 315

    Re: FantasyCrafter

I think the bigger issue is Obama's nature of being comfortable just letting someone else handle it. If Bush or Clinton were overseas meeting with Benjamin Natanyahu for example, you don't think they would fly home to handle this. This is a big deal. Barack has let his staff run his US Senate seat for the last two years while us taxpayers pay for his appearances on Meet the Press. Let's face it, this goes beyond the debate, this is their jobs. McCain is suspending his campaign including advertising and appearances to deal with the situation.
Why would McCain be afraid of debating Barack. He is a do nothing politician with racist and terrorist ties. McCain actually loses by cancelling this debate. He will come out in the debates because he knows what he is doing. Barack does not.

  16. 316

go to dc! they are both getting paid as senators right now and they need to do their jobs while they campaign for president. if they have time to do the debates, do them in DC. Neither should miss these important hearings on the bailout.

THE SHOW MUST GO ON! I fail to see how taking 2 hours to debate will harm the economy any more than it's already damaged. I want to hear from the next President — not watch him retreat when the chips are down.

Re: Ancient QueenAnything else? Please back up your statement.

  20. 320

You guys have to check the President of Argentina talking in UN practically making a joke of US Economy and the "republicans" ideology where the free market solves it all. I love that woman, and you know why? How embarrassing is that a "III World Country" teaches lessons on economy and compare the growth in her country to our country and the huge difference in how time has proven certain beliefs wrong and right. Bush and republicans.. WAY TO GO!! LMAO .. OBAMA 2008!

  21. 321

    Re: sweetpiece
nope wasn't me, I blame the Clinton Administration for making it so easy for everyone, even illegal immigrants to take out HUGE loans they were unqualified for, I blame all the greedy bastard who took loans out they knew they couldnt afford, and I blame greedy Fanny May which is a private company originally created by the democratic government!

  22. 322

I am scared. I have one child and one on the way. Not only is our country on the brink of a depression but we are all at each others throats. I feel like its a civil war without the weapons (yet). We are all fighting about the same things when there have been honest candidates to chose from. Of course the media doesn't report them nor are they allowed in the debates but they are there. Why doesn 't anyone take the time to read my post on page 2? Why don't we quit fighting and why can't you take the time to atleast go to baldwin08.com. I promise its all the things you feel inside….minus your stances on gay rights and abortion…..but do we have the time to make those issues relevant with such dire days ahead?

  23. 323

    FUCK MCCAIN

  24. 324

    Re: MINXLIVES

Again, this is not about multi-tasking. This is about rolling up your sleeves. As I said in an earlier post, there are things that are more important. Why would McCain be afraid of Barack? Why? Barack is a fake and a phony. He has two years even discussing foreign issues and virtually no direct experience.
As far as your idea of taking time, there isn't time. If this isn't solved, our country's financial backbone falls apart. They are waiting now, look at the markets. This proves Barack Obama is not that committed to the Presidency, he's committed to the celebrity of being the President. Heck, he's let his Senate staff run his term, so this is no problem for him. But, that's not the way a politician should be.

Re: honeybee – McCain/Palin lies???? Do you watch ANY TV commentaries, fact-checking, etc. Politicians always distort truths in ads, speeches, it's part of politics, always has, always will be. Obama has done it numerous times as well. Don't base your support on a candidate on the politics of politicking, if you do you are quite naive, dear.

  28. 328

Re: erhg74 – You are such an uninformed drone! The debate is about foreign policy, not the economy. Argentina is not a third world country. You're a fountain of misinformation, but keep going, you entertain me ;-)

Re: arrora – 325 So when the interest rates dropped, everywhere you looked the banks were handing out loans left and right. Have you ever bought a house? It is pretty complicated with tons of paper work and these people smiling and telling you not to miss out and a person might think, gee I can live the American dream and get my kids in a great school, and these people well, this is their business they would tell me if I couldn't afford it and my job is good(before they shipped it overseas) so "yes" let's go for it!
The broker in their mind thinks (suckers!) then turns around and sells the loan to another bank which sells it yet again and so on and so forth.
WAKE THE FUCK UP! There are many heads to blame here. Not just the poor "suckers" who dared to dream the dream!

  35. 335

I say postpone the debate! McCain not only wants to figure out this issue WITH Obama but take the attention off of the election so that we can focus on the current crisis that we are facing. It is hard to get people to actually listen to what the government has to say about fixing this problem when it is being overshadowed by the election. Make the debate next week… it's not like anything will change within the candidates.

What is your malfunction? Roll up your sleeves and DO WHAT? Isn't the debate a/b rolling up your sleeves 7 ADDRESSING ALL CONCERNS? How does this Bailout impact the rest of the issues for example? As I have said I support the bailout I DO NOT support a blank check to wall street, w/o guidelines, checks & balances, It's OUR $$$. Who rushes giving away a trillion dollars?! You are free to have an opinion and I am free to have mine and I DISAGREE with you. As I stated both are updated by their parties and THERE are OTHER ISSUES besides this one that WE THE PEOPLE CARE A/B. Aside from the economy we also have 2 wars to address and cleaning up our Foreign Policy. FIVE WEEKS LEFT I WANT TO KNOW WHERE THEY BOTH STAND ON ALL THE ISSUES! TWO HOURS TO A DEBATE WILL NOT KILL EITHER OF THEM! MULTI- TASK LIKE THE REST OF US. MOMS DO IT ALL THE TIME AND MANAGE TO GET SHIT DONE!

Kendoll, I base my support on who I think is mentally fit to run this country. This is my opinion, but do I think McCain is all there? No. The man flip flops daily on issues. he has been a champion of deregulation in his career and now he is a "maverick of regulation"? Um, who are you fooling? People vote for many reasons. My main concerns are the economy, the criminal war in Iraq, and the environment. I have done my "homework" on both parties, and Obama secures my vote.
I do not vote simply for image, like so many lost "hockey moms" are doing during this election. Take away the bee-hive 'do, the rimless pricey Japanese glasses, and the hokey accent, and you basically have a political gimmick who is not allowed by the McCain camp to talk to the press. It's an insult to America.

McCain is right…both SENATORS need to do the job they were elected to first. This is a crucial time in America…while I don't think bailout is the answer, all senators, whom the people have elected, need to postpone their popularity contests and get to work to make America better…this is serious and a debate is not the top priority right now! I hope BOTH candidates make the right choice

McCain has tried MANY times to get Obama to debate in town hall settings, taking questions from the people. Obama refused EVERY time because he doesn't want to take questions he doesn't know are coming, he'd rather have his comments prepared for him. John McCain stomped Obama at Saddleback, it was obvious Obama isn't great if he's not behind a teleprompter. Let's not forget that neither of these men are the President yet and therefore they still have jobs and I'd think them attending to a national crisis is more important than a debate, McCain just asked to delay it. Trust me, McCain wouldn't cancel because he was scared of Barry…McCain being scared of a junior Senator is laughable.

  50. 350

Thanks, kendoll! It's good to agree to disagree. :)

Re:kjen, be fair! Sarah Palin and John McCain have used teleprompters on numerous occasions. However, John preferably uses a index "cheat sheet" card at the podium. Look at his eyes during a rally…

I can only compare Buenos Aires with New York City in quantity of people and bohemian life. Economy is not great but actually for visiting is a bold cool spot. You should check it out.

God forbid John McCain goes to DC and does the job that our tax dollars are paying him to do. The state of our economy is more important than a debate that both candidates are going to suck at. Obama needs to get his ass back to Congress and do something productive.

    Re: honeybee
Let me correct myself then for you. All politicians at that level use some sort of prompter at times yes, anybody would. I'm talking about town hall settings and the Saddleback forum. Obama was very weak at Saddleback, it was obvious he was not comfortable in that forum and it showed big time. I think in a town hall he'd be the same, I think he knows that and that's why he refused to debate McCain like that. McCain sucks at giving a straight on speech. However, he is very good at answering questions from an audience. Obama is not.

    Re: honeybee
Here's facts for you, John McCain co-sponsered the Federal
Housing Enterprise Regulatory Reform Act of 2005 and pushed for Congress to pass it. When supporting this bill he stated that if we did not have these strong regulations Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae would fall, and that's exactly what's happened now. If Congress would have listened to McCain then our economy wouldn't be in such a bad state. Actions speak louder than words Obama.

John McCain has been bitching for weeks that Obama wouldn't participate in town hall debates, now that the first debate is scheduled for Friday, he wants to postpone it because he can't handle fixing the economy and debating at the same time. Based on this, he is too old, slow, and lame to be the next president!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: arrora – As I mentioned before the housing collapse is just a symptom of the greater issues at hand and I'm sure most people would agree that the Republican Party and more so the Bush Administration has done more damage to this Country and our world relations than anybody in American History. Also, John McCain's accomplishments and his voting record do not impress me at all and I consider Bush's request for Obama and McCain to be in Washington DC tomorrow another Republican Party political tactic aimed at buying more time for their foundation-less campaign. Bush got us into this mess he should get us out… Oh yeah and having McCain there should be helpful since he's supported Bush 90% of the time.

GET THIS STRAIGHT YOUR LARGE CAP'S AND IMBECILIC COMPREHENSION OF OUR POLITICAL STATE IS ABSURD TO ME NO MATTER HOW YOU SLICE IT & YOU CAN'T MAKE ME VOTE MCCAIN/PALIN IN THIS NEXT ELECTION EITHER. NICE TRY BUT NO!!!

Granted most people like you are afraid of the unknown however I would rather have Obama/Biden leading our Nation than a man who has supported G.W.Bush most of the time and a woman that recently received her passport and took nearly 7 years to complete her Bachelor's degree. In what was it again macrame?

    IDIOT!

Yeah, nobody listened when McCain said it would fail. Meanwhile one of the main men at Freddie Mac was praising Obama and the other dems for supporting it…knowing all along it was going to end up biting everyone in the ass. McCain had the foresight to see it was a bad idea to give out loans to people who simply had no way to pay for them.

  72. 372

Re: longhorn – I think its you who is the idiot. Its obvious that you come here for your political information b/c if you went to a legit one obama wants to do both the debate and go to washington. I dont know about you but i want a president that can multi-task. Both Mcain and Obama admit that this 700 Billion dollar bail out is flawed but maybe you should read up on whats going on. By the way im a libetarian so Im not voting for mccain or obama so Im not taking Obamas side just b/c. Its obvious that Mccain knows nothing about the economy. im not saying he doesnt care about this country but whatever both candidates are unimpressive to me anyway

  73. 373

Those of you who think McCain is going to Washington to "fix" this mess are badly mistaken. This has politics written all over it. This is the same guy who said 10 days ago that "the fundamentals of the economy are strong", this is a guy who has admitted to not know much about the economy, this is the same guy who hasn't been in Washington for many months, and in the process has not voted on over 100 bills. Where was McCain 10 days ago when this crisis hit? Now somehow McCain is going to go to Washington and create a bill that will be passed? There are other senators and congress people working on this bill and progress is being made. McCain is just one of 50 senators. He is overstating his importance. Obama has been in contact with the Democratic leaders and Paulson himself EVERYDAY. Chris Dodd just mentioned today that he hasn't heard from McCain not ONCE since the Wall Street crisis. McCain admitted to not even reading the 3-page bill. We surely don't need someone who doesn't know jack shit about the economy putting his two cents in.

  74. 374

Obama is the DEVIL!!!! He only cares about fame not our OUR country…….he's not even a TRUE American!!!! VOTE McCain! How sad is that…I've been a democrat my entire life, and Obomba has driven me to support a republican.

The major players in the Senate and the House both said that involvement of Presidential candidates would only interject more politics into the bailout plan. Their presence will only slow the process down. DEBATES ON,McCain is just scared.

  76. 376

    Re: MINXLIVES

You really don't get it. There is more to a campaign than a debate. There are other things as well. McCain is doing the better thing. Barack has never once put his nose to the grindstone to impact government through legislation. This is a guy that voted 150 times Present instead of yes or no. That is a way to connect, even in the Illnois State Legislature. Besides that, don't you think rolling up their sleeves is the part where they decide how to put restrictions so it isn't just a blank check? It's guidelines. Barack doesn't know anything about that. either.

  77. 377

Re: Whatupperez – You mean Bush, who sat on his ass for 7 minutes after a secret service member told him "the country is under attack" on 9/11? Or the Bush who continued on his vacation even after he was given a report stating that a terrorist attack was imminent?

  78. 378

The freedom movement may have spread to a select few of the American public but it sure as hell hasn't spread to the majority. The core issues that we should be concerned about; bigger gov't and more power to the gov't, more spending and a higher deficit that my children will have to inherit, a war with Russia and Iran, the violation of our civil liberties and the CONSTITUTION, are swiped aside for issues that shouldn't be on our top agenda: abortion (pro-life or pro-choice, gay rights, and rights for illegal immigrants, a health care plan that violates the constitution and a person's right to personal choice/responsibility. Because to me that seems to be where the major differences are. What we should care about is the fact the both of our supposed choices both represent all these things. Both of them blatantly intend to have tough military action on Iran, both of them will increase our taxes and our deficit for their bigger gov't programs (where do u think the $$$ comes from to pay for these programs), both of them have relations with manipulative and corrupt corporations i.e. Obama's connection with Fannie and Freddie and well the whole world knows where McCain's connections lay. This stuff could just go on. Instead, we are all on opposite ends of the political spectrum voting for two evils. One may be a little less evil then the other but they are still evils.

  79. 379

the only reason mccain wants obama to help him is because he can't do it himself. watch obama fix everything and mccain take the credit. don't do it obama, it's a set up. if this debate gets cancelled it's just another republican takeover. why is it so important to mccain…all of a sudden???

  80. 380

Instead, we are all on opposite ends of the political spectrum voting for two evils. One may be a little less evil then the other but they are still evils. Do you really think that in the yrs to come you won't think "damn I believed another politician." Damn I was ready to fight for this politician and put my well-being and children's in his hands? We are still going to be in a war….a bigger war, we are still going to have a bigger deficit, and we are going to have less civil liberites, while our country is left to foreign countries to buy up. AHHHHHHHH why don't you get it? Where is everyone's critical thinking skills? Vote for Hitler or Vote for the Communist. But hey its just me, what do I know?

  81. 381

Re: Lara1216 – What an idiotic thing to say. Why is Obama the devil? Because he wants to help when he's needed, and continue to campagin, and debate? It's called MULTI-TASKING! Read up on the issues and quit being a puppet.

  82. 382

These are Presidential candidates, but they're also SENATORS and need to do their job. Debates can wait-our economy can't. Good for McCain.

  83. 383

    Re: demeter

You are twisting McCain's words. First, he said the fundamentals of the economy, meaning the people and the companies are strong. You are as bad Charles Schummer who keeps taking the same brief quote and not expanding it. Second, McCain is the one that warned of these problems two years ago while Barack was planning his fourth trip to Meet the Press. Third, 50 Senators, there are 100 Senators. I am guessing you know that. Finally, I would much rather have a guy in McCain that goes to solve the problem than Barack Obama who is the second largest recipient of Freddie and Fannie Mac. Barack just wants to have his debate. This isn't just about a debate. It is about ending appearances and ads and all work until we overcome this crisis. When 911 happened, do you think Bush continued to deal with the then foreign relations crisis in Israel. No, he came home to deal with it. Barack doesn't know how to deal with legislation. His staff does.

Why do people focus on the dumb things? Obama needs to make himself look good and well I am soo sick and tired of seeing his face and here him say that we dont need another four years. I think people are so into his damn SOLGAN…CHANGE…does anyone know his theories or who this man really is?
What is going on in our country right now is serious! I think we need a president who is going to stop something in order to make sure we come up with a plan to get out of this economic struggle. People wake up we are going to be in a depression soon if not already. Who cares about a debate? Is it going to change voters? Mostly likely not. We need americans to come together and what better way to change how people view the election, than to see both parties come together and try to make a difference.

You are not going to change my opinion and you also assume waaaaay too much a/b me. I love how you put in a resp. to me that McCain isn't scared of Obama. DID I EVEN STATE THAT TO BEGIN w/? i'm reading your blog and it has to be the funniest thing i've seen all day. if mccain gave a shit he wouldn't of supported the high paid CEO's who outsource american jobs. a little too much, a little too late. ignorance is bliss. this didn't happen overnight! DUH!

  91. 391

Our country IS in a serious crisis and I think both candidates SHOULD put their current duties as members of the Legislative Branch above their ambition to be President. The world won't end if the debate is delayed a couple of days. We all know that the debates are a bunch of bull anyway. What is really learned from those terrible venues? The moderator and the questions asked (and NEVER answered) are all ridiculous.

If a decision isn't made ASAP about the bailout, the markets will continue to fail, people will continue to panic and we will have a 1929 situation all over again. It won't be a recession, it will be a depression. Fu@k the debates…get on with the real work of maintaining the stability and safety of this country and We The People.

  95. 395

    Re: MINXLIVES

I'm not the one that is misinformed. I don't think you get that a solution is needed automatically or this country falls apart even further. Would you have had Rudy Giuliani pulled away from 911 as the mayor of New York, so why would you pull Congressman who ultimately can put us back on track pulled away, even one, no decision committee or not. As far as multi-tasking, it is not about that, and you aren't getting it. And, I'm not trying to get you to vote for Obama. But, clearly you are criticizing McCain and we know his record. Perhaps you are upset because you want to vote for Obama and we don't know what he stands for other than higher taxes, support of partial birth abortions, reparation, attacking Afghanistan, and gun control. That we learn from his voting record, you can check it out online.

  96. 396

McCain shouldn't be allowed to be such a punk ass bitch. He should show up and take the beating he deserves. I'm not impressed with excuses and stalling.

  97. 397

Ok so I study Political Science and let me tell you that presidential politics in this economic mess is NOT going to help anything! There is a reason why when senators and house reps are running for presidential office they are excused from congress. It is because these essential votes in congress that affect our life's dramatically, most especially this one, should not be used as political propaganda in the campaign. This vote is too important and too key to our well being to have more politics brought into it.
It is ludicrous to think by stopping the debate that is going to assist in the biggest economic crisis we have had in over a decade crisis. That would be like throwing a teaspoon of water on a wildfire….NO affect. Go on with the debate McCain and stop using your patriotism and "country first" as an excuse for everything you do. We all know you saw your polls are going down in key battle ground states (like PA by 6% points) and your hopping by stopping negative adds, stepping out of the spot light for a little while, and asking Obama to do something so ridiculous that you know he won't go along with you can tie it all back to Obama being "unpatriotic" and not a "leader". I admire Obama for being able to keep his composure, handle multiple tasks, and not bail out. Go debate on Friday and prove something!

There better be a fucking debate .. This whole financial mess this country is in is because of the Republicans and the millions of idiots that voted for Bush in office. The poor were made poorer , the Middle Class are poor, and now the Rich are becoming Middle Class. This is all part of scheme to over throw the election and live in a police state. I for one am wondering if this beginning of the "New World Order"… Man Mankind has really destroyed each-other. Such complete sadness.

Now you go too far. I have already told you to STOP ASSUMING. You don't know NEthing a/b me nor my politics nor what put me here. You Bring up Guiliani, let me tell you something I LOST TWO relatives an Uncle and cousin in 9-11 so get off your soapbox. I TEACH PLSC and 9-11 aided me in CHOOSING MY MAJOR. Politics is something I live eat & breathe. Have we caught Osama yet? Did Bush's global war on terror succeed? Where's my WMD's? Are you one of those that still believe Osama is responsable for WTC 1993? Who said no to the war and who stood next to bush & pushed for it? Did Obama say lets go to war w/ Afghanistan NO! HE states we need to go after The Base and they r operating in the Northern Afghan mountains. I'm Not going to rehash 3 months of debates on a plethora of issues you posted I already went over this with others on numerous posts so it's up to you to back peddle through political posts & catch up. I'm not going to repeat myself 50X.
