At the last minute, John McCain cancelled his appearance on the David Letterman show last night, even though he decided to chat with Katie Couric for the CBS evening news.
Well, Dave was not happy, and that's putting it mildly.

When a guest cancels at the last minute it is sheer chaos because we still have a show to produce. With guest or not so it's nutty in the control room. Also, Katie is in the back pocket of the Republicans so of course she brought in John McCain at the last minute. The news usually does not take in any last minute guests unless there was a serious problem with the broadcast. She also interviewed Sarah Palin and asked the easiest general questions while Sarah was looking at a teleprompter in her desk for those "general" answers. No wonder Katie's ratings are going down. She is disingenuous.
