Barack Obama vs. John McCain: Round 1
Filed under: Politik > Barack Obama > John McCain
Did you watch?
Thoughts?
Here's the Obama campaign's official statement about their candidate's performance:
"This was a clear victory for Barack Obama on John McCain's home turf. Senator McCain offered nothing but more of the same failed Bush policies, and Barack Obama made a forceful case for change in our economy and our foreign policy. While Senator McCain wants to keep giving huge tax cuts to corporations and said nothing about the challenges Americans are facing in their daily lives, Barack Obama will be a fierce advocate for tax cuts for the middle class, affordable health care, and a new energy economy that creates millions of jobs. While foreign policy was supposed to be John McCain's top issue, Barack Obama commanded that part of the debate with a clear call to responsibly end a misguided war in Iraq so that we can finish the fight against al Qaeda in Afghanistan. John McCain needed a game-changer tonight, and by any measure he didn't get it." Obama-Biden campaign manager David Plouffe.
And the McCain campaign's take:
"There was one man who was presidential tonight, that man was John McCain. There was another who was political, that was Barack Obama. John McCain won this debate and controlled the dialogue throughout, whether it was the economy, taxes, spending, Iraq or Iran. There was a leadership gap, a judgment gap, and a boldness gap on display tonight, a fact Barack Obama acknowledged when he said John McCain was right at least five times. Tonight's debate showed John McCain in command of the issues and presenting a clear agenda for America's future." –Jill Hazelbaker, McCain-Palin 2008 Communications Director

Re: KevinK –
"#1 You obvoisly don't get the sheeple reference if you are calling me one, or are uninformed about me."
This coming from someone who makes baseless accusation about everyone else on here who disagrees with him.
"the "braceletgate" was a play on words.EVER since watergate people in the political word end some sort of misdoing with gate at the end. Hence, Watergate, Monicagate, etc."
Uh..duh…I was calling it out for its lameness.
And, yes I know I logged in another different name.
Re: KevinK – Kevin….you're very liked on this board….NOT
Kevin…I realy hope you are still around after the election so we can talk more about President Obama….
And Kevin….f.y.i…..my dog would do a better job at being the VP so put that in your pipe & smoke it little man
Re: LusciousLiz –
Once again you can't remember your own Gibberish…all I said was "my dogs the cutest" not even implying anything about yours I personally think all dogs are cute….you then said "not only is my dog cuter & smarter than your's…his owner is cuter & smarter than you too…but then again " #537 if you need to refresh your memory..It's very annoying how you can't even remember your own posts, I would never just attack someones looks out of the blue especially since I don't even know what you look like.
-
Saying Mccain may not be around in 4yrs is assuming he will die in 4yrs, don't try and twist your words…whats he going to do disappear, get abducted…You were insinuating he would die in 4yrs by making that statement and frankly it's a bad assumption because anyone can die at any given time.
-
Secondly I did call you a washed up 41yr old hag after you again attacked my looks when you've never even seen a picture of me, and now you have so I rest my case in the looks department and in the job department…my cute little dog is going back up.
Re: LusciousLiz –
Thirdly Replying to your posts are just aggravating like arguing with a child. You seem to have a better memory of things you copy and paste, rather than things you actually write. All you do is make personal attacks which just turns me into a raging bitch and I come on here to stick to politics. I'm just going to ignore your posts because again, they lack any substance and you can't even think for yourself. You then switch from attempting to debate politics to debating which one of us is cuter, Me lol. So Have a great week and I'm through with you as you've never had anything intelligent to say and it's quite obvious you never will….and there are plenty of people on here who agree with me on that!
Re: LusciousLiz –
LMAO saw your avatar, no you don't and no you couldn't the only one living in fantasy land is you sweety and Palin is cuter and smarter than you'll ever be.
Re: arrora – Arrora….you really have WAY too much time on your hands babe…you're young and beautiful, go get a life honey
Obama/Biden 08~
Re: LusciousLiz –
Why thank you =) I have a plentiful life don't you worry, however after going to the gym this morning it is just too damn hot outside in LA, I could barely breath. So I'm just going to stay nice and cool inside, clean, play with my little monster, troll the boards, rented Iron Man…I'll go get a life tomorrow when it's not so damn hot!
Re: LusciousLiz –
"Kevin….you're very liked on this board….NOT"
Well, Liz, not to twist your words, but I don't dislike anyone on this board (that's if you were referring to me). It takes a lot for me to dislike someone. There are a few jerks on here, but I usually ignore them than rather than try to be confrontational. I just had a few disagreements, stated them, and I'm moving on. The worst in people tends to be brought out every four years, as reflected on this board (not calling out anyone in particular), and I really don't want to get sucked into that, because anyone who knows me would tell you I'm pretty mellow. So if I offended anyone, I apologize. The whole political process makes me only frustrated this year, because BOTH candidates kind of scare me. I'm a former Republican-turned-Democrat, but I can't say my party's nomination this year is the one I want to vote for, but I'm not feeling the opposition either. It's going to be a frightening four years ahead, regardless.
Re: GoodBoyNC – Ok…not everyone, I stand corrected and apologize for talking for other's, I actually hate that myself. I personally not a fan of Kevin's…that what I meant to say
Re: arrora – No worries…we disagree on issues but I have no hard feelings. And I agree 100% on the heat…it sucks

Since you LOVE sidestepping the details and can only absorb what you like as opposed to what is actual fact:
Kissinger Sept 20th BEFORE THE DEBATE:
"Well, I am in favor of negotiating with Iran. And one utility of negotiation is to put before Iran our vision of a Middle East, of a stable Middle East, and our notion on nuclear proliferation at a high enough level so that they have to study it. And, therefore, I actually have preferred doing it at the secretary of state level so that we — we know we're dealing with authentic…"
CNN's Frank Sesno: Put at a very high level right out of the box?
Kissinger: "Initially, yes.BUT I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT WE CAN MAKE CONDITIONS FOR THE OPENING OF NEGOTIATIONS."
Now go weasel around it better yet cite what Kissinger said AFTER the debate if it'll make you feel better because I'm done, people that can't acknowledge something that differs from their view points ARE as you fondly like to state are sheepl that would be YOU mr. I play devils advocate on both sides. Whatever!!!
Wow…it took 4 days for my avatar to update????? Wow
