Marriage is a religious rite of passage and every religion I know of does not support gay relationships, Not because they are jerks, but because for thousands of years, basic science help to create religious dogma ie. girl and boy make a baby. Procreation is the innate purpose of live, ask a plant. Are those Obama's views or did you read that in a press release from his campaign?
A woman has equal rights in today's age? What fantasy world is she living in? Is that to cover for McCain stating that women just need more education to get paid as much as men? They make me sick! I'm a female, I'm not asking for a handout, I'm asking for what is equally due to me and what is fair. Palin is a hot ass fucking mess.
Please tell me how is it, according to Palin, how we can do something about Global Warming if we do not know the cause. She is claiming it is not man made, but we need to do something….but HOW?!?

It PREVENTS the sperm from meeting the ovum, aka PREVENTS conception. People need to get their facts straight. There is NO proof that plan-b acts on a post-fertilized egg. Therefore, it is in no way related to an abortion.

Marriage is not a 'religious rite of passage,' at least not in the United States of America. You may want to refresh yourself with the religions of the world, not every religion is as bigoted as Christianity and Islam.

I work in the public school system in California and illegal immigrants are a huge detriment to our educational system. That is just one way in which illegal are not putting into a system that they take from. In order to have a system that runs properly, those who take, must give. If not, the system does not flow, it stalls and falters.

I personally think that people should start looking @ the facts and not like her because she is a WOMAN!, I was very upset when OBAMA picked BIDEN for his VP instead of Hillary(which i love), but I think BIDEN is qualified. You forget that a majority of the country is 50+ years old and will support a candidate that looks out for their interests (protecting wealth, retirement, healthcare, and less taxes). In exactly what part of the interview does she come off as 'dumb'? I just watched the entire interview and I can't pinpoint the debacle everyone is writing about. You may not like her or agree with her views on issues that are important to you, but to characterize someone as being 'dumb' just goes to show the person making the remark can't think of anything more concrete and specific to say other than that. She doesn't claim to be a rocket scientist or someone who is well-versed in all the issues facing the U.S. today. I doubt either Sen. McCain or Sen. Obama know more than you or I do about the economy or most of the geo-political problems around the world. I'm sure they are briefed by people who are experts in those fields and then they make up their minds about how they would approach a solution to those problems based on who they are and what they believe in. That's why a person's character and history are important factors in deciding how they would deal with problems. Saying Gov. Palin is 'dumb' is like saying Sen. McCain is an "old man" and Sen. Obama speaks "well" and has a "nice smile". These aren't the reasons we should be voting for someone. Read up on the candidate's voting records and Gov. Palin's record as a governor and then make a choice.

In general, our laws are formed from a consenus of the people usually based on a moral platform - i.e. it's wrong to kill, rape, rob, steal. Religion does not dictate our laws unless a majority of the nation deems it so.
Also, just a quick lesson on our government - the congress makes laws, not the President. The President could not force anyone to wear a head scarf or prevent abortions without congress passing it first (kind of like the bailout plan). Perhaps you need a class on government before you spew such nonsense, but then again, you're probably only in 8th grade anyway.

You're an absolute moron. You might go and actually research more then two religions and cultures before making such ignorant comments. Right here in the US, there were hundreds of unique Native American tribes, with their own languages, cultures, and religious practices, that allowed gay marriage.
You know how this made sense to them? MANY OF THEM ADOPTED. Adoption is pretty much completely ignored in Judeo-Christianity, so of course they'd think that the only way to start a family would be to biologically reproduce, allowing them to dictate that marriages are between men and women only. What a beautiful religion, that it places absolutely no emphasis on adopting orphaned children.
Also, on an end note, marriage is not a religious practice. IT IS A SOCIAL PRACTICE. Marriage existed before religion did.

First, let me start out by saying that I'm a Democrat who is pro-life and anti-death penalty. I can explain why extremely liberal people can feel that way. It's simple. Not everyone believes that life begins at conception. You can't prove it, and you can't push your beliefs on other people. For those who believe that there is a window of pregnancy where there is NOT a living human being inside of a woman, there is no hypocrisy. Now, for extreme conservatives who support an unborn person, and kill a living person, I don't care what the rationale (I've heard all of the "reasons"), it's hypocritical in my opinion.

What about things like the economy, foreign policy, immigration, and alternative energy (aka things that really matter in the US today)? Re: Roccomagoo – Let me say that I am not voting in the upcoming election (for president). I will let you prove when life begins, certainly not before the sperm and egg meet. It's not so much "when life begins" as much as not giving life a chance. As for the death penalty, I am not a supporter of the death penalty, merely pointing out that the folks that will not give life a chance are the same ones who support the vilest element of our societies right to live.

I'm not one to say when life begins, I have no idea. As I said, I go against the party line because I'm pro-life. However, I don't see how you can compare the CHANCE that something MAY live one day to actually killing a human being who is living and breathing . But this is what makes America great…we all have the rights to our opinions! I do hope you vote, it's such a wonderful right that we have…it's a shame to waste it! Re: Smirks – you didn't quite understand my point. i am by no means wealthy. i am also not greedy. if i can afford to raise a child, alone, in an area with a high cost of living and still pay more than my fair share, then the wealthy can afford to kick a little more in. we have a history of tax cuts for the top bracket of wealth in the US but a history of tax hikes, on the state and federal level, for the working class. makes sense to me.
