$1 Trillion!!!!!!!
Filed under: Politik > John McCain
John McCain said Tuesday that George W. Bush should spend $1 trillion of your tax money to buy up those 'bad' mortgages WITHOUT Congressional permission.
Yes. He's encouraging W. (of all people) to spend $1 trillion without permission folks!
He said it 3 times on Tuesday, apparently.
Click here to watch the video.
There's still that separation of powers, keep dictatorship in check thing in our country, right?
Wonder what sorts of things McCain would try do WITHOUT permission should he be elected.
Scary!

Funny how you twist things Perez! He's not saying use a $1 tril. of taxpayer money like the bailout would be, he said the treasury already has that money at it's disposal. He's not saying the president either, the treasury. You're dumb. I hate you and your Messiah.
Re: uraPIGperez –
The best candidate is decided by where they graduate? Give me a break. Obama's nothing more than a motivational speaker. In his brief time in Congress he has yet to accomplish anything. It's funny during the bailout Obama gave a speech asking Congress to step up and get things done. When did Obama step up, he didn't. He showed up right before the vote to play cheerleader. Actions speak louder than words, and I have yet to see Obama do ANYTHING for our country.
Re: uraPIGperez – you make some very good points….:-)
funny how its all repubs fault…all this really began during the clinton era and policies where never changed during subsiquent presidencies. we all got distracted by the war on terror and the war in iraq while our economy began to flounder. not everyone in trouble is in trouble because they over bought on a house they could not afford. many signed mortgages with low flexible rates back when under poor advice, and as the econ started to slip those rates started to climb. so here we are people with mortgages that started at 7 or 8% now looking at 18 or 20%. huge diff in montly payments. mortgages should have never been sold as a traded commodity on the market imo. so if the gov't buys out floundering mortsgages from banks, the bank now has the money to get its act together and be more careful. i would rather my tax money go to saving peoples homes and businesses than paying more into a war with / for people who care nothing for me, my country or a democratic system.
Re: uraPIGperez – #202.

You are very ignorant about America's political system if you think Congress doesn't legislate.
–
Why don't you look up how many times Bush has used his veto since the Dems took Congress? Oh, but looking things up is just too difficult for you.

You are batshit insane. Stay in Canada you loony toon.

I agree with you 100%. The Eurotrash has ruined its countries so completely they had to band together to remain viable.

Since they let Labor/leftists/liberals take over their governments everyone is on the dole, crime is rampant, and everybody worships at the altar of environmental hysteria. They are WEAK.

NOT the example America should follow.

Bullshit. Read Freddoso's book on Obama. Which you never hear about. Why? Because it's meticulously researched and copiously footnoted. It can't be refuted because it's TRUE. So yes, there is a pattern of unethical and corrupt behavior on Obama's part, especially in Chicago. But I don't expect the likes of you to have bothered to read it. Books are sure expensive in Canada, aren't they?
–
Re: Smirks –
People don't hear about Freddosso's book because they might be scared about the truth. Facts often scare liberals.
Re: Genghis Khan – I'm one of those "stupid people" you talk about that lost their house. Yes, it was a $300K house, but my husband and I could afford it when we moved in - three years later after your non-regulation candidate allowed the interest rate to increase over and over and over, our mortgage payment increased by $800 a month!! We contacted our mortgage company NUMEROUS times to try to work with them BEFORE we were even close to being in default. They would NOT work with us and decided that a Foreclosure would benefit them more. Stop generalizing and know your facts. There are those of us out there that really tried to keep our house to no avail because the mtg companies just really didn't care about the little people. They decided to take the loss and write it off instead of responding to our FOUR offers to buy the house! Not everyone who loses their house had that happen because of irresponsibility!
Re: Rachelriotmaker –
Ok, I'm going to say this one time, because obviously people on the board have no idea about how economics work.
Economic theory has proven that there is a natural rise and fall of recessions and booms–usually in about a 10 year wave. Reagan weathered the storm in the '80s, only for Clinton to swoop in during the '90s and take credit for Reagan's economic genius. After that 10 year boom in the '90s the 2000s were plagued by a series of deep recessions, starting most notably with the dot.com crash and ending now with the credit crisis.
The reason why I blame dems is because they are the ones who instituted all the federal welfare programs, approving huge loans for low-income families, all contributing to the current crisis. Yes, Republicans should have pushed for more regulations, I will definitely admit that.
But think before you speak about blaming Bush–he had NOTHING to do with the natural 10 year cycled recession we are currently in.
Oh, finally, haven't you guys had control of Congress since 2006? Why haven't YOU done anything with your great change?
And honestly I love a vigorous debate but name calling and ignorant comments only make you look like a complete idiot and not even worth responding to.
i just read france is looking for 500 billion to bail out their banks…….wonder who they are blaming for their failures
They are trying to raise money for Republican campain maybe buy some votes. Republicans are GREETY people…

Re: darlena – nice spelling
as the days go by.. i find myself saying this more and more often… thank GOD for duel citizenship…. americas FUCKED …. either way…
My God you people are fucking MORONS.
Did you even WATCH the video??
He never fucking said the treasury should spend $1 billion dollars, he said they have the CAPABILITY of spending UP TO $1 BILLION buying out those shitty loans.
That's what the entire bailout is you God damned idiot sheep..it's the government buying the shitty loans and taking a massive loss so banks don't continue failing. All McCain is proposing here is that the treasury start buying them now instead of waiting ten years for Nancy Pelosi and the house Democrats to fuck the bill up even more.
Re: Jodman –
as sad as that may be… most people went to lenders and lied about income and lied about how long they had their jobs. People want the "American dream" andthey will Lie, cheat. and steal because that is wht our government taught us and now you are hopefully not homeless but not as cozy as you used to be because either the company you were working with lied to you while you were lieing to them. Too bad so sad maybe you'll make better choices next time. OR RENT!

Mouser [289] says: I don't understand why Osama is still around either. But, I stand by the fact that Bush had overwhelming support to invade Iraq, and even Dem Bill Clinton saw that Saddam Hussein needed to be removed from power.
======================
But, the support Bush had was based on "lies" about weapons of mass destruction. Funny thing about that ~ we don't know for sure if Osama Bin Laden is even still alive, so it's a hoot-and-a-half to listen to McCain's campaign promise that [if I am elected, I WILL find Osama Bin Laden, and I WILL bring him to justice]; like some kind of a threat exists that can only be extinguished if McCain has the reins. Anyway, invading Iraq was not Bush's decision to make. It was a decision for the U.N., and they did not support his invasion, because there was no threat of imminent danger. The leader of one country has no right to bomb innocent citizens in a quest to arrest their leader, and the U.N. should have kicked the U.S.A. right out of their alliance. Bush should have let the U.N. do their job with Saddam Hussein. This illegal and unsanctioned invasion by the United States on the innocent Iraqi society is no less terrorism than what Osama Bin Laden did to America; and Bush is no less a tyranical dictator than Sadam Hussein was. Sorry that Americans can't seem to comprehend that concept, except when it happens to them.

SquirrelLives [293] says: Don't blow a gasket dude. I think we get your point.

I don't think you do, because you are still making nonsense assumptions that you cannot support, including my gender.

Darrynito [294] says: yeh, i never got that: the church on one side of the street doesn't want me because i'm gay and a sinner, and the church on the other side embraces me saying i'm not a sinner - both are reading from the same book and pray to the same god … strange!?! not really, they just cherry-pick the phrases they wanna believe in - THEY determine what's good and bad (not god) … just like a colleague of mine who skips over, denounces and discredits any article in scientific journals that contradict his beliefs, yet devours everything else …
========================
Exactly! And that makes the whole concept of Christianity just a steaming pile of crap. Just like I mentioned before in my post at [228] "as we all know, many homosexuals used the Catholic Church to garner the "automatic, unquestioned trust" which enabled them to molest children so expertly for so many decades. These false preachers were worshipped by Christians for those many decades, while these "Men of God" fucked their children in the ass."
jefdo [305] says: The best candidate is decided by where they graduate? Give me a break.
=========================
No, you give me a break, you freakin' idiot. What is it with Americans and their "twist" to tell me what it is that I just said? I did not say that the best candidate is decided by where they graduate. I know you are not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but the issue was a comparison of Obama vs. McCain in the education benefits they would bring to position. The point was that McCain has not done any consecutive educating of himself for over 50 years, and even then he was not very studious, to end up in the bottom five of a graduating academy. Compare that with the educational achievements of Barack Obama, and your argument looks mighty lame and pitiful.
=========================
LusciousLiz [306] says: you make some very good points….:-)
==================
Thank you very much for your compliment; and even more so for consuming my words with an open mind.

Smirks [308] says: You are very ignorant about America's political system if you think Congress doesn't legislate. Why don't you look up how many times Bush has used his veto since the Dems took Congress? Oh, but looking things up is just too difficult for you. You are batshit insane. Stay in Canada you loony toon
================================
You are batshit full of bullshit, because I was accurate when I said that Congress cannot pass any legislation, if the President refuses to sign it off. Since you cannot dispute that fact, then stfu with your unsupported accusations and rhetoric, because it is nothing more than a lame attempt to disguise your own ignorance about your political system.
================================
If you have some [specific] accusation, then bring it on, but ordering me to "look up how many times Bush has used his veto since the Dems took Congress", has fuck all to do with what I said. [P.S. you are such a half-wit, you don't even know how to spell looney toon.]
Smirks [310] says to Bavaria [216] - Boy, are you ignorant. I would hardly call McCain a Christian extremist. He doesn't even attend church regularly. Unlike Obama. lol.
===========================
Boy, are you ignorant. Do tell, what hardly would you call John McCain? Well, let's see ~ he grew up as Episcopalian, and was educated in an Episcopalian High School. In June, 2007, McCain told a reporter from McClatchy News Service that he was Episcopalian. THEN HOLY MOSES, FIRE AND BRIMSTONE, 3 months later, in September, 2007, he tells Fox News that he is Baptist [while campaigning in the heavily-Baptist State of South Carolina]. He went on to say that he has attended the North Phoenix Baptist Church in Arizona for more than 15 years, although he has never been baptized in that church. Seriously, the man announced himself as an Episcopalian in June, 2007, yet he claims that he attended a church of an opposing faith for the previous 15 years. Hilarious, especially since Baptism is kind of a big thing in the Baptist Church. No baptism; not a Baptist.
Smirks [31] says: Bullshit. Read Freddoso's book on Obama.
========================
You are the bullshitter, and I know all about David Freddoso, and I would not waste my time reading his "connect-the-dots" fabrications. He is nothing more than a staunch Republican columnist, who has worked diligently trying to manipulate a case against Barack Obama. He has been accused of making a career for himself based on dishonest, extreme hate-mongering.
========================
You can read your horoscope every single day, and find coincidences if you choose to. David Freddoso has nothing on Barack Obama, except allegations, inuendos - unlike John McCain, who has a very clearly proven and documented history of corruption and abuse of authority.
Re: Pervert – I am just going to repost your comment.

=======================
And ~ rhetroic is defined as "empty talk". Freddosso's hunting down of Barack Obama is "empty talk". He has no substantive, proveable allegations against Barack Obama, so why don't you clarify and specify what "factual truth" you think it is that Freddoso has exposed Obama for. [Saying that Obama knows Tony Rezko is not any proof of Obama having a criminal association with Rezko. In fact, what say ye about John McCain sending birthday regards, and regrets for not attending his party in 1995, to Joseph "Joe Bananas" Bonano, the head of the New York Bonano crime family?]

Take your fingers out of your ears, Mammi, because I want to thank you for proving my point that your culture is predominantly selfish, arrogant and unkind. Even lamer for an adult to take pleasure in such idiocy. And my opinion may not mean anything to you, because you are too closed-minded and arrogant to hear anything over your own blaring self-grandiose, but you need to speak for yourself, because there are other posts in this article that are complimenting me for the substance of my comments.
======================
And I recognize your failure to proclaim or deny your support for the Republican Party. That would be a good strategy for someone of your character, who might want to enjoy the celebrations of the winning camp, without the embarrassment of having to cross the floor.

You will have to excuse my own arrogance in this post, since I am attempting to communicate with you on your own level.

====================
First of all, Mammi, don't get your "granny panties" in a bunch. I have never attempted to "pin you" as a repub or dem, I merely "recognized your failure to proclaim". How do you translate "my recognizing" into a deliberate accusation of "an attempt to pin you"? It seems as though the education system has taught you people to hear something other than the message that was transmitted. Could America have rampant genetic Aphemia? Seriously, the basic communication skills of mainstream America are tragically minimal. Way to hold down the curve, Mammi.

And I am not cramming my beliefs down anyone's throat. Nobody is forcing you or anyone else to read my posts, and I rarely inject my personal beliefs into my writing, because I am fact-based, and that is what I report. ============================
John McCain has been entrenched in the Republican Administration for many decades. He has been an integral contributor to their decision-making. Therefore, it would not be fair to blame Barack Obama for the sins of the Democratic Party, in the same way that it would be reasonable to blame John McCain for the sins of the Republican Party, because Obama has not yet achieved that same authority within his Party's leadership. It doesn't mean he is not capable; it simply means that his youth has not yet established him into the "old boys' network".
:l
I WOULD NOT call Barack Obama an inexperienced man, or an inexperienced politician. He is really not so much inexperienced; as much as his is "unauthoritative", if you look at his accomplishments, both in and out of politics. Hundreds of posters on this site have repeatedly reported that Barack Obama has no real accomplishments ~ don't be a lemming and accept that as fact without researching it yourself. Get ya Google on and take a look at some of the things that Barack Obama has accomplished. I think you might even be slightly delighted.
:l
Barack Obama has practiced as an Attorney for more than 10 years, after graduating Harvard Law, and subsequently achieving the Presidency of the Harvard Law Review. That is an amazing accomplishment for any individual, but he even succeeded in the face of racist attacks from blacks who mocked him as "not really black" and whites who mocked him as "not really white". He could become a very wealthy man in a very short period of time with his legal credentials; he does not need this free ride to the Presidency. If John McCain lost his government job tomorrow, what would he be qualified to do? Obama is a man who genuinely cares about his country, and that is evident if you follow his trail of conduct. I truly believe that America is still inherently racist, because John McCain is old and tired, he blatantly lies to the American people, and it is absolutely unacceptable conduct for any Representative to refer to Leonardo DiCaprio, or anyone else, as an androgenous wimp, without provocation. It is hillbilly at best. And why would you choose a First Lady who publicly admitted to stealing narcotics from a medical charity, just as she was about to be exposed by the media? You will accept that the main matriarch of your country is a common thief; but you will not let Obama off the hook for even the slightest gaffe.
To mammigrannypanties [346]
[Wtf are you talking about now? Where did I ever criticize you for labelling yourself an extremist?]
As to the American genetic aphasia or aphemia your talking about, I'm first generation American, so that nonsense is just that, nonsense.
[Wtf are you talking about now? Who said I was referring to you? I asked if "America" could have rampant genetic Aphemia (of course, if it did, it would be reasonable to expect that you would acclimate to the norms of your demographic environment.]
P.S. I do love bacon, another common thread?
[Wtf are you talking about now? I have never said that I love bacon, so how can you consider that a common thread? Oh, I get it, you are stereotyping Canadians. Well, the last laugh is on you, because neither our pigs nor our politicians wear lipstick or wigs. On the other hand, I have seen several photoshops online showing both of your Republican candidates wearing very cheap wigs and very sloppy red lipstick beneath their snouts.

I'll just assume that you haven't had to watch your husband/wife/family member deploy 3 times back to back, not leaving bc they wanted to go but bc they HAD to go and it was their duty as soldiers. Have you even got a clue about what really goes on over there? Have you talked w/ any soldiers? Have you seen a soldier choke up bc he saw little kids being blown up on the streets from their own people? Or how about being on foot patrol and you hear an explosion, run around the corner only to have your boot slip on the suicide bombers face. I would be on here all night telling you the stuff you don't see on any news channels but it's late, I'm tired and I'm not even suppose to know most of it let alone repeat it. SO….. in response to your opinion that I'm racist, against them, you're damn right! Being ignorant….I wish. See, that way I could be just like you and pretend that the US is the bad guys and we should just let others totally obliterate us and what we stand for and believe in . Btw, a friend of mine brought me back a prayer rug, wanna borrow it? You totally bore me so why don't you do like your screen name says ~nighty night
To: Genghis Khan [244] - Seriously, you are really messed up in the head. I am not insulting you, I am absolutely definitive; and I hope you come back to read this reply.
.
First of all, it was not all about Obama getting a law degree ~ it was about getting a law degree; and greater yet, a "Harvard" law degree; and greater yet, during a time 20 years ago when race relations were very hostile; and greater yet, burdened with double-racism [from both blacks and whites]; and greater yet, to be the first Black person to achieve the Presidency of the Harvard Law Review; and greater yet, that he achieved that during a time of extreme race relations.
.
Can you seriously not recognize the character of this man? And you have the nerve to say that he is not real. Consider that this man may have earned more internal pride in self than you will ever know. Irony here is that Americans have become very accustomed to an arrogant leadership; an arrogant culture. Perhaps, you look for that which is familiar to you. I do not understand how you can interpret Barack Obama as phoney; unless you do not know that grace and clarity can flow from adversity.
ncgalstuckinga [269] says: Here's a truth for you. If those terrorists from "your" country had stayed their asses home on 9/11, we wouldn't be in Iraq right now. Here's another truth. We HAVE helped your people and I say your bc you said "our land,oil ect" We have helped to feed the kids and adults and given them medical treatment. However you never see much of that on the news, why, because bad news travels fast and the good is seldom if ever recognized. I suppose giving them jobs as interpreters and whatnot over there is evil as well.And how about pumping God only knows how much money into your country to help rebuild it. Not to mention offering those and their families refuge here in the United States. Is that a bad thing too?Wow, we really are selfish and evil. Btw it was more than 3,000 people that your buddies killed so instead of coming on here talking total shit about the US, why don't you hop on your prayer rug and think about those truths.
==============================
What the fuck are you talking about, you nut job? Sounds like a bad case of verbal diarrhea, or a very bad meth trip.
.
Now, I would ask you to admit that Obama has achieved many successes that you have not. A proudful culture would implore their society to show respect and admiration for achievements greater than their own; and your own achievements also valued and respected; instead of insecurely degrading them and yourself with comments like "I don't care if he went to Harvard and got a law degree, blah, blah, blah. Anyone with even average intelligence can get a law degree if you want to sit down and really apply yourself."
.
Seriously, do you not realize how arrogant and snotty that is? Do you not realize how counter-productive and life-sucking that is? I would invite you to run, don't walk, to the nearest well-lit mirror, and take a very long, hard, sober look into your own eyes, and say hello to the lemming that is looking back at you.
.
And then Google up on Obama's achievements. I know you have not researched that information, because if you did, you would not be saying that Obama doesn't know what he's talking about. He is very intelligent, and very informed. Most intelligent voters are attracting to Obama.
.
What is it, exactly, that you claim Obama doesn't know what he's talking about?

Now… You specifically contradicted yourself. You said that he tried to get it done in 2003. The law that you claim J. McCain supported in 2005 was in 2005. I don't think you really understand what you're talking about, but I knew that up front. I just wanted to see you play twister with the facts.
