I agree with #107 Cindy - Zac Efron is understandable appeal for his tweener fan base, and judging from his vocals in 'Hairspray' he has a decent baritone voice. Bit his current look is one that can change quickly as he grows in the next two or three years. As of right now, there's too little evidence to make a judgment as to whether Zac can make the leap to serious movie roles that can carry an entire film. He claims not to want to be tyecast in musical roles, but his choice of announced future roles (especially the upcoming remake of 'Footloose') gives one pause.
Shia LaBeouf, on the other hand, has major talent written all over him - the guy can fuckin' ACT. And he seems (in interviews) excptionally well-grounded and serious about working towards a long-term career. And while Zac is certainly attractive (in his way) and has an attractive physique that will become even more defined with continued workouts, there is something about Shia's on-camera presence that is almost subversive - not an Adonis (by his own admission) but a smouldering attractiveness (especially his soulful eyes) that grows on you. Good luck to Zac, but let's have LOTS more Shia!
