Maggie and Jake Gyllenhaal‘s parents are calling it quits, after decades and decades of marriage.

Bummer!

In Touch Weekly reports that the split between Naomi Foner and Stephen Gyllenhaal has the siblings crushed, as it seemed to come out of left field.

It is also strangely making the family closer. They are united under the bad news – not just in the current Gyllenhaal family, but the future Gyllenhaal family as well.

Talk of marriage between Jake and Reese Witherspoon has been surrounding the couple and now with Jake’s parents’ split, wedding bells may be ringing sooner rather than later.
