REGISTER TO VOTE BEFORE IT"S TOO LATE
Re: kjen – what's wrong with allowing the homeless population to vote? Just because someone doesn't have money, doesn't mean that they're not citizens of this country. They're entitled to vote for our next leader. And your comment about "pulling out all the black people who've never voted and literally dragging them to register" is just small minded. So in your opinion, only white, affluent people (or at least people with means) should vote? Comments like this give the republicans a bad name.
McCain came off like a nasty old child molester. And hey, what a classy move that was yesterday when GOPalin attacked Biden the same day he was burying his mother in law. They are a couple of peaches, eh?
Barack Obama was clearly victorious.
Re: Smirks – lol.. I just checked. I can see you know very little of math and statistic. You can't isolate one poll, you need to take into account several polls and average upon them. If for the republican campaign is going so well then they should not be worry about anything, just do what they are doing. McCain shouldn't speak on the radio and say "If we continue talking about economics we are going to loose this election", his campaign should step up, there is no reason why, after all he is going to win according to you. lol. You do know you party is freaking out cause the trend and people who knows this matter (more than you and me) project Obama as clear winner. But I let you think what you think, in fact, you shouldn't even post it and rest your mind on the clarity that this government is going to be handed to republicans again. lmao! peace!
Re: Sheri Bella – It's hard to trust politicians, although I do have faith in McCain. Please check their track records before making your decision, we need a leader who will stick to their beliefs.
Re: Suze – No, but they are being told to vote merely on appearance and not on policy. which is wrong! homeless people are just like everyone else…and they need to do their own research and need to decide for themselves who to vote for. they shouldn't be taken to be registered just because someone told them to. it's ridiculous what obama goes to just to try to win this election. i pray to GOD every single night that you liberal democrats will wake up and realize what Obama stands for.
WELL MCSTAIN FACES THE CLASSIC CATCH 22. WHEN HE WALKS HE LOOKS EVEN OLDER, THE WAY HE STRUTS HIMSELF LIKE A ROOSTER WITH A STICK UP HIS ASS, BUT THEN IF HE DIDN'T WALK AROUND SO MUCH WELL PEOPLE WOULD BE LEFT TO PONDER IF HE even CAN walk WITHOUT ASSISTANCE. OF COURSE ONE DEAR FRIEND SUGGESTED PERHAPS HE WOULDN'T STAY STILL CUZ HE SHAT HIS PANTS AND WAS EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE AS A RESULT. BUT TO ANSWER THE QUESTION, OBAMA WON.
***l then they should not be worry about anything, just keep doing what they had been doing before…
*** his campaign should not step up
(at work writing really quick so lot of typos)
But I am sure you get get my irony and the point..
Re: ethereal – Hey, idiot. Tom mentioned several times that they needed to stop when the light signaled. Obama kept running his mouth everytime. Wait, this must mean Tom is racist as well!!! LOL
Re: arrora – McCain did not go over the time limit ONCE??? You must have only watched a few minutes of this debate. From the beginning, Obama kept his answers to the time limit, but McCain continued to ramble and ramble and ramble for several minutes for each answer. Finally, after quite awhile, Obama decided since McCain was going over the time limit, he would too so he could have equal time. I actually thought this was a mistake because for the beginning, I was proud of Obama for not stooping to McCain's level by disobeying the rules. When he finally joined in doing it also, I was disappointed. In any event, McCain was the first one to disobey the time limits, and Obama finally joined him. That was the moment when I started losing interest because it was bothering me that despite Brokaw's MANY, MANY comments to BOTH candidates (not just Obama like some are saying), both candidates just did what they wanted.
Re: erhg74 – Oh, but I CAN isolate one poll. Zogby, for the political cognoscenti, is the only poll that matters. And you can BET that when Zogby has McCain within 2 percentage points, Barry's sweating right now. Peace!
Re: mikilly – How odd that you are commenting on OUR presidential election when you live in Italy. Please keep your nose in your own business.
Re: TylerDurden – I COULDNT AGREE MORE WITH YOU, THESE FOLKS ARE BLINDED BY OBAMAS WORDS, HILTER AND STALIN GAVE GREAT SPEACHES TOO. PROMISED CHANGE AND JUST ABOUT EVEYTHING OBAMA IS CLAIMING TO DO. THE MAN IS SELF CENTERED NARCISSIST.
Re: Leona$ Gho$t – Haha. Funny post. I lol'd irl. You were missed yesterday, LG!
Re: laurenbrooke – I hear what you're saying…but I disagree. Based on what you're saying, college students shouldn't be voting either. On every college campus, you'll find a huge voter registration rally. Are you sure that every 18 year old has done extensive research on which is the best candidte? Probably not. Should they be allowed to vote? Sure. I wish that only fully informed voters would walk into the booths on November 4th, but the truth is, many will not be. Saying that homeless people shouldn't vote is crazy. Many homeless people are just like you and me, only they're down on their luck and they've lost their homes. Not all homeless people are drugged up crack addicts. If anything, it's IMPERATIVE for the very people who are suffering the most from this economic crisis to get out and vote this time around.
Re: laurenbrooke – lmao.. Don't believe in the polls.. Don't believe in the media.. Don't believe in anything.. only in God Above, our pastor in church, what Palin says in the rallies and what the bible says! What a waste of human being you are.. lol… The polls have a mathematical foundation and they are based on scientific methods. Why you think republican party is so worry nowadays and they feel they need to step up the campaign? Cause they also believe in the polls. And they want you dumb so you can vote for them. But thanks God we are majority in this country and Obama is going to be our next president. Suck it!
Re: Leona$ Gho$t – well lets see how you would get around if you were held prisoner for years and been beating and have broken bones you asshole. obama is not what you people think he is and if he wins the world will never be the same
obama owned it.
mccain looked like he was gonna have a hearattack right then and there.

LOSERS!
Re: Free Speech 4Ever – Oh please, you should actually respect foreigner's view on our presidential election big time. Shows how cultured you are and how much you are aware of the world we live. How you pretend us to claim to the world as a peace maker, how you pretend us to make allies, how you pretend to avoid MISTAKES other countries have made in the past historically, how you pretend to generate empathy and trust in terms of investments if you don't take a minute and see how we are perceive (nowadays that perception equals to assholes). So before making your dumb comments and put off an important opinion such as a foreign view better shut the fuck up and go back to the room of your trailer park and read your little bible.
Re: Tiffy25 –
i dont think it would be a bad thing to get buffet involved. he made his money by being a brilliant investor, and while he may be rich, he doesn't live that way and is very careful with how he does spend. i think they do need to consider stepping outside washington to fix this mess

OBAMA/BIDEN ALL THE WAY! CLEARLY THE BEST CHOICE FOR CHANGE!
Re: sweetpiece – Um, Mccain can't lift his arms because they were broken repeatedly while he was in 'Nam ((oops!)
But guesswhat? OBAMA KICKED ASS
i think both canadiates did a great job i am for obama but watching mccain i loved his personailty and his corny jokes and how he seemed to really connect with people. however, there was no question about obama knows what he is talking about and i agreed with him 90% of what he was saying especially about Pakistan, and healthcare. I felt he answered the questions more throughly and i was sorta disappointed by to the attacks mccain did he seemed like a bit of a lil jerk and taunted obama however, i truly def. have more respect for mccain than i used to

Re: TylerDurden –
Don't spread Rumors
Re: vengance – Listen, I'm a libertarian so I watched last night with an open mind, no bias since I'm not affiliated with either party. Mccain did a great job, as did Obama. Mccain needed to dominate through out but unfortunately for him he didn't. Both of them danced around some questions. Im not sure if you did watch it, Im guessing not, b/c Obama did explain that 95% of Americans would not be taxed & if you are apart of the middle class, your taxes will supposedly be cut. And the elderly will pay no income tax at all, but lets not forget no one should be paying for this tax since it is unconstitutional. It is my understanding that he will only raise taxes on the rich. Whatever. Vote Bob Barr people, down w/ the unconstitutional federal reserve and the unconstitutional federal income tax . This is not what our founding fathers had in mind for our great country. One of the reasons for the revolutionary war was to break free from taxes and private banking & the corrupt british government. Remember, we pay their salary. They are supposed to serve us, not control us. Liberate yourselves people! Cant you all see whats going on in this great country of ours?
Re: jennlj85 –
"Okay so when did health care become a privilege and not a human right? You know just a question…. "
What debate were you watching?!?! Neither one said that it was a priviledge! McCain said it was a responsibility, probably because he's going to tax you on your health care. Obama said it was a right for every US citizen.
The debate was BORING. I also think they should restrict the vote to people that actually pay taxes. If you don't pay taxes - you don't get to vote. Since that will never fly, I think the government could standardize the voting process and make rules that apply to all states. Maybe this would eliminate some of the voter fraud. Groups like ACORN abuse the process.
Re: Tiffy25 – Um…. yeah….maybe Obama wants one of the richest men in the country to be Treasury Secretary because he is a brilliant enough economist to have gotten millions. I know it's tough to imagine competent government after the past 8 years, but someone smart enough to know how to earn millions for himself could be of great help to us by his economic intelligence to help.
It annoys me the way Obama pronounces Pahk-ee-stahn. Ugh.
Re: urprobablywrong –
Typical asswipe republicunt. Face it - you all have lost. McPain is done for.
frankly, i don't even know why you post this stuff anymore.
it's just a bitchfest between everyone. everyone is so close-minded it's ridiculous.
it's the same crap everyday: obama supporters say the same thing "mccain is old" and "he's a republican so he must be like bush". and mccain supporterskeep saying "obama doesn't have experience" and "he dances around the issues."
but i'm sorry … obama CLEARLY danced around the issues. i can think of only two issues he actually answered. we don't know his plans. he hasn't mapped them out. he just repeatedly says we need change.
mccain clearly stated what needed to happen and how he would do it. THAT is addessing the issues.
and here's the other FACT - Obama has actual TIES to American terrorists. William Ayres is a convicted terrorist against America. this is a person who obama has relations with. not to mention he spent 20+ years attending a church that condoned racism. do you REALLY think none of that rubbed off on him?
More Obama espousing his quintessential rhetoric…a typical lawyer in action!
Re: breezer – I really can't understand why people should or should not vote for someone because of there name. You can not blame Obama for his middle name. I am disgusted and frightened that people as ignorant as you are allowed to vote.
Re: Bellezza Italiana –
if enough people rembered that fact . Thay work for us . We are their employer .
ACORN was RAIDED in Las Vegas! Aww… no cheating for the Democrats!
Re: bubbabearzle – 326 UH DUH! I'VE NEVER MADE FUN OF THAT.

Its so scary to think that Barack Obama might be our next president, please all you Obama lovers just go to www.humanevents.com and look up Barack Obama: EXPOSED, PLEASE do you research befor you vote. McCain/Palin all the way
Health care is a responsibility. Too many people abuse the system by not having health insurance for their entire lives. Then, when they get sick, they go to the hospital and run up enormous bills they will never pay. Who pays the bill? The responsible people that have forked over the money month after month paying their ever increasing premium. It's not fair. Yet another instance where the good guy gets the shaft. Make health care mandatory and fine people that don't go out and get it. Take their tax return, garnish their wages. Anything to get them to contribute to the system.
Re: Smirks – THANK YOU DARLING. KISSES!
Re: vengance – They were not "broken repeatedly by the North Vietnamese." They were broken, along with his leg, when he ejected from his plane after being shot down. Then, they were not healed correctly. Nice spin, though.
Obama is so PROFESSIONAL> McCain could hardly walk around up there , he walks like he's in pain, and at some points he could not sit down, and he was not holding the microphone to his mouth. He's not well, Go Obama…
Re: Smirks – 335
Who does he think he's impressing with that? I guess that wins him brownie points with all of those upper-crusty Ivy League elites and Euro-snobs.

I'm a democrat andI'm voting for Obama. Unlike a lot of people I know, I realize that he's not the saving grace of America but I feel he is a better choice.
What interested me most was not what McCain said but what he didn't say. He never said the words "middle class" or "education." Obama said both.
As far as Obama seeing upset I never saw that. Most the time I thought he was about to burst out laughing.
Re: erhg74 – Trailer Park??? I'm a college educated professional who doesn't really appreciate prejudice people from other countries making comments as to who we should vote for in our country. How about I tell you how to raise YOUR kids since our brats will probably affect everybody they come into contact with??
Re: whatnextfred – 343 Wow how conservative of you! Try finding out about the USCWF. Neo-nazis, fascists and much much more! You must be proud of John being a card carrying member and he sat on the board of directors. What a swell guy.

Re: whatnextfred – Post 350
You are correct - I am an ass. Thanks.
Re: SquirrelLives – #344
/agree. Just like they do with car insurance. Since when is health insurance a "right"? It began as a "fringe benefit" that companies used to attract talent. How it morphed into a "right" is beyond me. Nobody is ever denied care anyway. We the taxpayers have been picking it up the tab forever.
People are being sucked into Obama saying that he'll bring "change".
He's young and has no experience, PLUS people are already trying to kill him. I would have dropped out already.
Re: SquirrelLives –
You are so obtuse! Do you really think anyone doesn't have health insurance because they don't want it?! Seriously?! Have you ever tried to price a private health-insurance policy (since not all employers offer that benefit)? Yeah, didn't think so. Fining those who can't afford to pay a grand a month or more for insurance isn't going to do anything to solve the problem.
Re: AutumnSno –
OMG…. I thought I was the only one hearing McCain whistling when he talked. That ish was driving me BANANAS!!!
JUST BECAUSE OBAMA IS YOUNG AND CAN RELATE TO ALL OF YOU DUMBASSESS DOES NOT MEAN HE WILL BE A GOOD PRESIDENT
in fact, It will probably make him worse. HE'S YOUNG. Presidents have always been old, why change it now. He doesn't know what the hell he is doing.
So in other words, all you assholes want Obama to be pres and pull out of the war like we're a bunch of p_ssys. You want us to surrender? Our guys have been fighting and losing their lives and you want to just pull out of the war so their efforts were all for nothing. Shut the eff up you jackasses.
I'm not saying that I love the war. But it is what it is people. We need to finish what we started. The USA should never back down. Grow up and get over yourselves. Wake up and smell the coffee people. Get out of your fantasy world. The man knows nothing.

Re: bubbabearzle – Post 359
Never assume anything. The answer to your question is - Yes. I have priced out individual insurance. I recently became unemployed. Since I have assets I wanted to protect from a catastrophic health crisis, I went out and bought a short term (1 year) policy for $173 per month. It carries a $5000 deductible and covers both me and my wife (I don't have kids). It's not the best policy but at least I'm covered. I cut corners, clip coupons and even do without to make ends meet. I don't think anyone else should foot MY bill. I know that as a youngster you don't understand the notion of individual responsibility but hopefully, one day you will.
FULL QUOTE From Dreams From My Father:
He offered to start me off at ten thousand dollars the first year, with a two-thousand-dollar travel allowance to buy a car; the salary would go up if things worked out. After he was gone, I took the long way home, along the East River promenade, and tried to figure out what to make of the man. He was smart, I decided. He seemed committed to his work. Still, there was something about him that made me wary. A little too sure of himself, maybe. And white—he’d said himself that that was a problem. [Page 142]
Re: ah!!!COLON!!! listen. – This is too good to pass up, Dumb asses? It's looking like the only dumbass here is you. John Kennedy was 46, the youngest President…of the United States. And just because people don't agree with your point of view doesn't mean you need to call them names.
FULL QUOTE From Dreams From My Father:
Whenever I appear before immigrant audiences, I can count on some good-natured ribbing from my staff after my speech; according to them, my remarks always follow a three-part structure: “I am your friend,” “[Fill in the home country] has been a cradle of civilization,” and “You embody the American dream.” They’re right, my message is simple, for what I’ve come to understand is that my mere presence before these newly minted Americans serves notice that they matter, that they are voters critical to my success and full-fledged citizens deserving of respect.
Of course, not all my conversations in immigrant communities follow this easy pattern. In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific assurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction. [Page 260-261]
FULL QUOTE From Dreams From My Father:
All my life, I had carried a single image of my father, one that I had sometimes rebelled against but had never questioned, one that I had later tried to take as my own. The brilliant scholar, the generous friend, the upstanding leader—my father had been all those things. All those things and more, because except for that one brief visit in Hawaii, he had never been present to foil the image, because I hadn’t seen what perhaps most men see at some point in their lives: their father’s body shrinking, their father’s best hopes dashed, their father’s face lined with grief and regret.
Continued from p. 220
Yes, I’d seen weakness in other men—Gramps and his disappointments, Lolo and his compromise. But these men had become object lessons for me, men I might love but never emulate, white men and brown men whose fates didn’t speak to my own. It was into my father’s image, the black man, son of Africa, that I’d packed all the attributes I sought in myself, the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela. And if later I saw that the black men I knew—Frank or Ray or Will or Rafiq—fell short of such lofty standards; if I had learned to respect these men for the struggles they went through, recognizing them as my own—my father’s voice had nevertheless remained untainted, inspiring, rebuking, granting or withholding approval. You do not work hard enough, Barry. You must help in your people’s struggle. Wake up, black man!
Now, as I sat in the glow of a single light bulb, rocking slightly on a hard-backed chair, that image had suddenly vanished. Replaced by…what? A bitter drunk? An abusive husband? A defeated, lonely bureaucrat? To think that all my life I had been wrestling with nothing more than a ghost! [Page 220]
OBAMA wrote the book himself by the way! THese are FULL quote not the distorted version that the neocons want you to read.

OMG! Was a crack up, how MCCAIN wandered around, like a person in a mental ward, in the background, whilst Obama answered questions… Am I the only person who noticed this??
NO ON PROP. 8!!
OBAMA/BIDEN '08!
The Republicans would vote for ADOLF HITLER, if he was running for their party… GEEZE!
People seem to be missing the point of Obama's book and only see what they want to see. Obama has respect for a lot of different opinions and for people with different opinions. That doesn't make him a communist or terrorist or a sympathizer of any sort. I think what he's trying to say is he's just looking for respect and appreciation from all angles. These aren't his political policies. I highly doubt he would put a book on the market to the general public if he thought he had anything to fear about his experiences. It's a very honest interpretation of his life. I respect it. Some of us may not understand where he's coming from but I get it. It's too bad his words are being taken out of context and made to sound harmful.
Re: LordKain – Seriously, 27 days before the election when 90 percent of the public have their minds made up, is there anything that's going to change it. I think not. This is pointless back and forth nonsense.
And I really don't get people who still don't know who they're voting for?? How??
I thought that this debate had the most substance of the three that have happened so far (including the Biden/Palin debate). I also thought that, objectively, Obama won. He hit some of the personal notes (like talking about his mom's cancer/insurance struggle) and showed a thorough, detailed understanding of issues - didn't seem "canned" at all. McCain seemed really nervous, desperate even, which didn't help his answers - he seemed less like a problem solver.
Re: Smirks – has she written a book I'm unaware of?? The only quotes I hear are on the news. And I make sure to listen to the entire segment not just the one liner. AND, I've never quoted her.
Re: PLainJane82 – Seriously, you're right. Anything can be taken out of context and made to sound bad. But the picture I get from this one of Obama's books is that he is a very fragmented man… desperate to identify and be recognized as "black", seeking "cred" with his every thought and action. He is at best ambivalent and ashamed to be half white. I really feel sorry for him. He has internal issues and they run deep. He has no "identity" and has been seeking one all his life. I just don't want to subsidize his "search". Sorry.
Re: PLainJane82 – #390
No. I was referring to the hack editing jobs done on Gibson's and Couric's interviews with her. You may not like me, but believe me when I say they cut them to shreds to make her look as stupid as possible. Not to deny she says some stupid shit… she does. But I found a clip of the ENTIRE Gibson interview, and she sounded way more reasonable when you hear her answers in their entirety. I haven't been able to find a complete, unedited Couric interview, but I'm still looking.
Re: Leona$ Gho$t – now thats the most funny thing i heard from you, nice come back
SPEAKING ON BEHALF OF THE REST OF THE WORLD — IF YOU MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE FOR A THIRD TIME, THEN YOU CAN'T WONDER IN BEWILDERMENT WHY THE REST OF THE WORLD THINKS WHAT THEY DO ABOUT AMERICANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IF YOU VOTED FOR BUSH AND ARE VOTING FOR MCCAIN/PALIN, THEN I REALLY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT TO THINK ABOUT THIS WORLD WE LIVE IN. IF YOU VOTED FOR BUSH, THEN YOU FOUND OUT THE HARD WAY WHAT A STUPID DECISION IT WAS TO HAVE VOTED FOR HIM — SO MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, THERE'S A POSSIBILITY THAT YOU MIGHT BE WRONG ABOUT MCCAIN TOO??? DO YOU REALLY THINK PALIN IS FIT TO BECOME YOUR PRESIDENT IN THE CASE SOMETHING HAPPENED TO MCCAIN???
THE WORLD FEELS SORRY FOR YOU, AMERICANS…BUT DON'T EXPECT OUR SYMPATHY IF YOU FUCK YOURSELVES OVER AGAIN.
OBAMA/BIDEN '08
Re: Tiffany_Bitches – I think he was serious, and if he wasnt, there's another example of him not answering questions! At least McCain said who was on his mind (not Buffett, Meg Whitman).
Re: I AM CANADIAN – Why would we want sympathy from a country that has major civil unrest in it? Your opinion matters NOT AT ALL.
Re: Smirks – I watched the whole interview when it first aired. not the youtube clips. I still think she's out of her league. I don't like her and it makes me cringe to say it, but at least Condoleeza Rice has some degree of intelligence.
Re: jaimeee –
Hahahaha no but I actually take that as a complement, she is one intelligent, tough, strong minded woman =)

Re: Nonbreeder –
Oh I'm plenty Intelligent and observant. In fact I can actually write a post that entails more than just telling someone "you're not very smart" you might want to try it some time. The fact is I observe Obama's links to Terrorist as Friends, I observe Obama's Spiritual Influence for over 20yrs The Radical Rev Wright, I observe how Obama says Goerge Clooney is now another spiritual advisor…the man sure needs a lot of spiritual advising and apparently doesn't care if he associates himself with convicted terrorists. I observed all of that very well, maybe you should too!
Re: Bavaria – No actually I wanted to say that if Bill Clinton would have killed Ossama(not Obama) when he should have 9/11 would have never happened in the first place!
Re: Suze – ARE YOU DRINKING THE KOOL-AID…WE'RE HERE YOU'RE JUST DRUNK OFF THE NOBABA PUNCH
Re: I AM CANADIAN – Really? You're going to speak on behalf of the rest of the world????!!! LOL.
