Oh, the fuss!
BBC soap opera EastEnders featured two of its male characters engaged in a passionate lip lock on Tuesday.
Since then, the state supported net has supposedly been ‘flooded’ with complaints (an ‘enormous’ 145) for screening the gay kiss before 9pm.
Interesting note, this latest ‘outrage’ has hit 21 years AFTER EastEnders screened the first gay kiss in a British soap.
The BBC released the following statement about the outcry:
“We approach our portrayal of homosexual relationships in the same way as we do heterosexual relationships. We believe that the general tone and content of EastEnders is now widely recognised. Parents can make an informed decision as to whether they want their children to watch.”
Yeah, parents!
Duh?
What kind of mom/dad finds soaps suitable for a kid?
