Someone's looking like a hypocrite!
According to reports, a bipartisan committee of Alaska legislators (so, BOTH Republicans AND Democrats) voted 12-0 on Friday to release a report that revealed Veep candidate and current Alaskan governor Sarah Palin violated state ethics law "by trying to have her former brother-in-law fired as a state trooper."
Here it is in a nutshell:
Even before Sexy Sarah was nominated to be the Republican Veep candidate, an inquiry was kicked off to look into her dismissal of Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan, who said he lost his job because he resisted pressure to fire her ex-brother-in-law.
Sexy Sarah has said Monegan was fired as part of a legitimate budget dispute.
Well, the report released on Friday said two important things. First, Monegan's firing was lawful. But, the pressure Palin and her husband put on him, was not.
You, like us, may be wondering what the heck does her husband, a non-elected, unofficial player have to do with this?
Well, check this out!
The report notes a few instances in which Sexy Sarah pressed the case against trooper Mike Wooten, but it was her husband, Todd, who led the charge to get 'em.
Todd Palin had extraordinary access to the governor's office and her closest advisers and he used that access to try to get Wooten fired. Sexy Sarah knowingly "permitted Todd to use the Governor's office and the resources of the Governor's office, including access to state employees, to continue to contact subordinate state employees in an effort to find some way to get Trooper Wooten fired".
Hmmmm. Using public office to advance a family vendetta?
And, allowing a family member to use tax payer supported resources to do so?
It seems more crony than maverick to us!

Scary thing is, during the Veep debate, Sexy Sarah said that she wanted to (unconstitutionally?!) EXPAND the powers of the Veep office should she be allowed in there.

But no the crazy lady with her huge ego and her gay husband decided to harass the Public Safety Commissioner into trying to fire the ex in-law. That's why I question those allegations she's made. She probably fabricated those stories of abuse to excuse her for abuse of power in office.

Thanks man. I am from Illinois and people don't understand the world of garbage we are in for with this guy. He wasn't even a leader in the Illinois Democratic Party as a State Senator. The only reason why he is the US Senator is because the front runner, Jack Ryan, got bad press that was mostly untrue, because Jeri Ryan made up a bunch of stuff to get her divorce. Republicans replaced him with Alan Keyes, who was a last minute name choice, when Mike Ditka refused to run. Obama didn't even beat Keyes that badly. That is the sad thing. Keyes only a had a few months to campaign. Then, he has wasted our taxpayer dollars flying to being on Meet the Press, so he could get elected in his first US Senate term. Oh and by the way, his wife says she was finally proud of this country. She neglects to mention that nearly a decade early, Carol Moseley Braun became the first US Senator that was an African American woman and she also attempted a run for President. So, Michele Obama wasn't proud of either one of those historic accomplishments which happened in her own state. These guys are a joke man, God help us if they get elected.

Okay, so she abused power and maybe let her husband have more influence than he should. That is bad, and it does raise concerns if she is indeed elected as our VP in November. However, when it comes to scandalous matters, no politician escapes unscathed. They ALL have questionable things that could be brought up. Yes, even Mr. Obama.
Truth of the matter is that not one of our candidates have a clean record. Why was the fundraiser article about Obama not posted on here? check it out on yahoo. All they do is just think of ways to help out. Ideologies are obviously different, but the goal is basically the same. Now as far as this woman goes? What she did was wrong. Not that it will matter to staunch McCain/Palin supporters. What disturbs me most, is the fact that she allowed her husband to try to intimidate her staff into doing the wrong thing. Her husband should not be involved. If that trooper tasered a 12 yr old, they should have been able to get rid of him the right way. No matter how you slice it, she was just trying to get her former brother in law fired. You don't abuse public trust for family issues.

It may or not be. I wouldn't be so confident, you may have to eat your words. Many elections have been at the same point in the polls at this point and turned around. I think the joke will ultimately be on all of us if Obama is elected. We will have much higher taxes. Obama tried the same thing in the Illinois Senate. First, he voted to make the rich pay and when that didn't work, then suddenly everyone paid. Chicago now has the highest sales tax of any city in the country. And, sales have been down there and up in the nearby suburbs. As a result, lots of small businesses have closed making way only for corporations and franchisees in the city of Chicago. Isn't that funny? Barack Obama supports us little people now doesn't he? He sure agreed with Daley when they said raise those taxes!!! Ha! Ha!. Let's keep laughing.
This investigation began weeks, almost a month, before Sarah Palin's Vice Presidency nomination was announced. Newspapers in Alaska were all over it long before Sarah Palin became a househould name.

So, I'm from Illinois. You have any idea what Barack Obama's approval rating is. It is 40% in Chicago and about 33% outside of those in the Chicago polled. They have been in office a similar time. What does that tell you? I'll take 60% statewide over an average of 37% in Illinois any time. Funny how people are so nuts about him, well they have really experienced his poor leadership. Senator Obama has been thoroughly vetted by the American people and reached his candidacy through long, arduous processes.
Palin got plopped in her position less than two months ago — like she said "Ive only been at this five weeks!" Give it some time… her approval rating will go South even farther, just like McCain's did after he named her his VP running mate.
The racists are only mad because the trooper tasered a little white boy. If it had been a little black boy you wouldn't be saying he should have lost his job. I think what he did was horrendous but Palin overstepped her authority and violated the state code of ethics. What about all the cops who beat the crap out of their wives/girlfriends and stalk them? If we allow government officials to do whatever they want in the name of "justice" we will have complete madness. That is a VERY slippery slope we can not go down. At that point, every politician will do whatever they want according to their own standards as opposed to the law. That is a recipe for all sorts of wrongness, as Perez would say. There is a bureaucracy. She can't just overstep the rules. If this trooper hadn't been her ex brother-in-law she would not have been trying to get him fired for tasering his stepson. The same rules have to be applied consistently to everyone. The trooper's boss was only being fair. She had no right to try to get him fired for doing his job. If they are not going to fire the other cops who abuse their kids they can't fire this one. That's why we have courts and child custody rulings. She and her husband cannot appoint themselves judge and jury. If she doesn't get that she is definitely not suitable for public office.
