Someone's looking like a hypocrite!
According to reports, a bipartisan committee of Alaska legislators (so, BOTH Republicans AND Democrats) voted 12-0 on Friday to release a report that revealed Veep candidate and current Alaskan governor Sarah Palin violated state ethics law "by trying to have her former brother-in-law fired as a state trooper."
Here it is in a nutshell:
Even before Sexy Sarah was nominated to be the Republican Veep candidate, an inquiry was kicked off to look into her dismissal of Public Safety Commissioner Walter Monegan, who said he lost his job because he resisted pressure to fire her ex-brother-in-law.
Sexy Sarah has said Monegan was fired as part of a legitimate budget dispute.
Well, the report released on Friday said two important things. First, Monegan's firing was lawful. But, the pressure Palin and her husband put on him, was not.
You, like us, may be wondering what the heck does her husband, a non-elected, unofficial player have to do with this?
Well, check this out!
The report notes a few instances in which Sexy Sarah pressed the case against trooper Mike Wooten, but it was her husband, Todd, who led the charge to get 'em.
Todd Palin had extraordinary access to the governor's office and her closest advisers and he used that access to try to get Wooten fired. Sexy Sarah knowingly "permitted Todd to use the Governor's office and the resources of the Governor's office, including access to state employees, to continue to contact subordinate state employees in an effort to find some way to get Trooper Wooten fired".
Hmmmm. Using public office to advance a family vendetta?
And, allowing a family member to use tax payer supported resources to do so?
It seems more crony than maverick to us!
Not right, don't you think?
Scary thing is, during the Veep debate, Sexy Sarah said that she wanted to (unconstitutionally?!) EXPAND the powers of the Veep office should she be allowed in there.

You missed the problem. McCain pointed this out in his interview with Palin. Barack flipped his position on his involvement with Ayers. One minute he's a man living in his community the next, it 's a different story. Why all the different opinions" It is a fact that they worked on a program together. Just say it! He's not. Plus, this is a guy who is involved with Tony Rezco, who is now facing jail time, and Reverend Wright who is a racist. What would you think of McCain if he was involved with three individuals like this. He'd have been written off a long time ago. Obama is garbage. If you lived in Illinois, like I have, you'd see that as a state Senator and now a US Senator, in the nearly a decade he'd been there , he's was neither a leader nor did he make any changes. So, if he did nothing for Illinois, what's he going to do for this country. You and I do agree on the fact that there is no real conservative, besides Palin, It is sad, but Bush leaves them in an unfortunate position. McCain is more a reform Republican than either Romney or Huckabee would have been.
Studying history, theories and associating with people who have radical viewpoints does not make you a terrorist or even a radical. If that were the case the FBI would have to put almost every college campus in the U.S. under surveillance. Joining a neo-Nazi organization does make McCain a racist. The president should be well educated and have a balanced viewpoint so that he can represent and empathize with all Americans, not just a privileged few. All that Joe 6-pack talk is crap. You betcha!

So we think. There is a long way to go. McCain could turn it around. I am fearful too, but you have to understand, these polls are all about popularity. Because of the economy, it is popular to be anti Bush and say screw McCain, and that is what you see in these polls. Also, people want to love Obama, but will these same people vote for him when the time comes. They often don't, conservatives go out to vote, more than liberals. Statistics prove that. And conservatives are fired up. Tom Ridge pointed out that several presidents have been down much further in the polls and won. So, I remain optimistic that people will wisen up. Otherwise, we can look forward to four years of higher taxes, little reform and a complete loss of national security.

As an Obama/Biden supporter, I respect and will listen with an open mind to John McCain. Sarah Palin, on the other hand, makes me embarassed to be a woman. To anyone that actually thinks this woman would make a good Vice-President, I am ashamed. She has no credibility, no true intelligence, and her cocky, rude attitude is very uncalled for.

With that said, I have to agree that Sarah Palin is not the person I'd like to see as VP. I applaud Senator McCain, and I admire his military career. My opinions and ideologies are more in line with Senator Obama's. What I've heard him say so far anyway. That does not mean that I will bash and insult anyone who doesn't agree with me. Like I said in a previous comment. The methods may be different, but we are all after more or less the same thing.
Kinda reminds me of "travelgate" except the unelected spouse of a politician fired a group of government employees, not merely made the suggestion that a jerk of a brother-in-law be canned. It didn't seem to hurt HRC's political career, so I don't expect much damage to Todd Palin's should he decide to run for office one day.
