Tina Fey on Sarah Palin

Filed under: TV News > Barack Obama > Tina Fey > John McCain > Sarah Palin

feypalin__opt11__opt.jpg

Despite Tina Fey doing some very funny impersonations of Republican VP nominee Sarah Palin, her true feelings on the Alaska Governor are not exactly a secret.

The star from 30 Rock did a recent interview with TV Guide and revealed exactly what she thinks of Palin.

Fey says, "Election time is always good for [SNL] and this is a bonkers election. And that lady is a media star. She is a fascinating person, she's very likeable. She's fun to play, and the two bits with Amy [Poehler], that was super fun."

As for Tina playing Palin on Saturday Night Live if John McCain wins, Fey says she'll quit.

Says Fey, "We're gonna take it week by week. If she wins, I'm done. I can't do that for four years."

And, she clarifies by adding, "And by 'I'm done,' I mean I'm leaving Earth."

Ouch!

Though we know there are a lot of people out there that feel the same way!

  3. 3

You would look at as a dis on Palin. I think it means that it was fun while it lasted but she has another job to do now. She left that show, remember?

  4. 4

  5. 5

  6. 6

Oh come , come now Tina…..not for any amount of money????? Puhleeze, you will have a change of heart if your show ever flops, and it will, it will.

  7. 7

I hope everyone who says they'll leave if McCain wins actually keeps their word. America will be a better place without YOU.

  8. 8

Oh Tina. Who cares what you think. You look like a bird. Sarah is sooo much hotter!!!!!

Go Tina….be like the rest of the stars over the years and say you will leave. They have been saying that for years and years and the same idiots are still in this country getting overpaid for playing dress up in front the camera. Don't get me wrong. There are quite a few celebrities and sports figures that are for McCain/Palin but, the ones who make dumbass comments like I will leave….just need to shut it. Don't go on the polls celebrities…..that happened in years past and you looked stupid when your man didn't win and you weren't moving!

  9. 9

I don't care how she feels, I just want her to keep playing her! I laugh so damn hard. She's spot on and her accent is hysterical. Me like….

  10. 10

Re: Smirks – LOL, I already left! I can't use that phrase, damn.

  18. 18

God help us if they win! The problem is some people do not realize that we will be heading into hell. If you think our country is doing bad now wait until McCain gets into office!!!! Can you imagine your healthcare being taxed…OMG!!!

  19. 19

She can take Barbara Striesand, Oprah, Alec Baldwin, LezLo, Clooney and the rest of the celebutards that keep saying that….but they never leave!
Don't let the door hit you on the ass!

  20. 20

Re: _Alice_ – Hehe. I will be leaving in four years, regardless. My husband and I plan to be nomads and travel the world. America is for the birds! lol.

  21. 21

    Re: nyc_opinion – Well said!

  22. 22

and there are LOTS of people who feel that way if Obama gets elected too..
    LOTS.

    MCCAIN/PALIN '08!!!!!!!

Electing Obama and his naive "change and hope" would be WORSE for our economy than BUSH ever was. WAKE UP AMERICA.. RIGHT CHANGE=COUNTRY FIRST AND NO HANDOUTS! unless of course electing a president shadier and stupider than BUSH is the kind of "change" you want..

HERO AND THE HOTTIE :) '08!!!

Barack Obama is 100 times more frightening then Sarah Palen

  29. 29

what country could i move to where i would be safe from the WW3 that will erupt when the "mavericks" take office? canada, fiji, greece? call me when it's over and i'll come back. because i don't doubt that they will win. THey will either buy the election as most republicans do or we will all realize that there are still too many dumb hicks to care about what's best the the country as a whole and they will put him in office.

  30. 30

hmmm… celebrities for obama are some of the most intelligent, creative, and innovative actors and musicians working today. bob dylan, bruce springsteen, tom hanks, tina fey, leonardo dicaprio, ed norton, angelina jolie, among many others.

celebrities for mccain: heidi and spencer and chuck norris. can you list any more, aside from country singers from texas and empty-brained football players, who openly support and advocate for mccain?

    coincidence??? I don't think so.

  31. 31

Bye Bye Tina…………Not gonna miss ya

  32. 32

Re: Smirks – Actually I feel the total opposite. The neo nazi anti semites voting for McCain can leave. They can all go to Alaska for all I care. Maybe thin out the herd with a few hunting accidents?
    .
Now that would help the world.

  33. 33

Well if she wants to leave earth, maybe she can move to Russia, Iran, or N Korea, I'm sure she'll be begging to be back in America with a man named McCain protecting her freedoms and fighting to keep America safe. She's another Celebutard Liberal Republican who apparently doesn't like Palin or McCain, but is more than happy to use them to help fatten her wallet, hypocrite.

  34. 34

I think all of us are contemplating the same thing Tina… If they win this election not only are most of us screwed but the social fabric of this country will be set back for quite a while due to the way they ran their campaign.

  36. 36

She doesn't have to leave earth. She can go back to Canada!!!!!

  37. LIP says – reply to this

    37

I feel the same way. I remember feeling the same way four years ago… when Bushy was re-elected. Why didnt I leave then?

  38. 38

Maybe a few republicans should leave their brains to science? Perhaps then we can find out why they make such ridiculous choices . . .
    -
Then again, I don't want to insult all Republicans just because some are fire-breathing lunatics — I am starting to feel that mainstream Republicans want John to give them some answers - he has flip-flopped more than a few times . .
    -
    From CNN:
    -
"On Saturday, his campaign leaked word to Politico that he would be introducing a bold new economic agenda on Monday. "
    -
"Late Sunday evening word emerged from McCain headquarters that, in fact, there would be no bold new economic proposal to throw on the table. "
    -
    -
Please vote with your Heart and Your Head - not your hatred.

You're contemplating leaving the country? I bet you don't even contemplate getting out of bed to go to work. You're waiting for a handout from the Messiah.

  41. 41

Spread the wealth Obama…take it from those that earn it and give it to the dumbass liberal that wants it…..instead of getting a job and earnign it himself…..HORRIBLE LEADER…STUPID IDEA!!! A good and quick way to make every hard working and educated American's shit-list….

  42. 42

    EVOLVE PEOPLE!
    .
THE LIMP NOODLE THAT WAS ONCE MCCAIN IS DONE AND YESTERDAY'S GARBAGE.

  43. 43

ok i love tina fey, but thats really mean and harsh.
keep ur politcal comments to yourself tina, its one thing to make fun of her but to bash her publicly? OUCH. now i bet sarah wont appear on SNL, NICE GOING TINA.

  44. 44

Re: brainbreaking – Chuck Norris is all McCain needs. Don't you know that Chuck Norris destroyed the periodic table, because he only recognizes the element of surprise. And that when Chuck Norris does a pushup, he isn’t lifting himself up, he’s pushing the Earth down. Better still, Chuck Norris doesn’t wear a watch, HE decides what time it is.

  45. 45

brainbreaking: I think you're brain is already broke.
there are a lot of conservatives in Hollywood, but they can't speak up because the Jews who own the studios retaliate. They have to make livings too. You'd do the same thing, that is if you had a job.

Does that mean she's going back where she came from? Mars, Jupiter…..
    GOD does answer prayers!

  47. 47

Wait a minute…isn't she an immigrant…wasn't she born in Canada? Just saying….she needs to start packing…

  48. 48

Adios Tina!! Your space ship awaits!!! Saturday night live has THEE worst comedy skits ever written anyway! Theyre so lame! Mad TV was a million times funnier than your show. Please dont do Sarah anymore..um..youre really NOT that funny! NOBAMA'08!

  49. 49

I think anyone who is unhappy here to the point where they can't function normally should leave regardless of what side you are on. If you can't handle the person who is in office and you can't go about your daily life due to fear or anger, by all means leave. If Mccain is elected and I can afford it, i will work/move/travel/spend as much time away visiting friends in other countries as i can. I will return to the homeland when hands have changed over. LOL

  50. 50

Side note: So here are the facts - the DOW is rallying at the announcement of plans for . . . Nationalized banks.
    -
Nationalized as in . . . government part owner - how interesting that this "socialization" of the banks occurred under . . . a REPUBLICAN ADMINISTRATION???? How can this be?
    -
How interesting it did NOT occur under a DEMOCRATIC administation.
    -

  51. 51

aaamen.. if mccain/palin win.. the world (not just the US) will collapse..

  52. 52

    Re: PLainJane82
Buy the Election??? You might want to check up on The Acorn group paying homless people in cigarettes to register to vote and then bringing them to multiple counties to Vote for Obama more than once. Or how about the Obama Camp getting students to register to vote and then encouraging them to vote for Obama. Many students came out and spoke up about how extemely uncomfortable they felt being pressured on who to vote for during their registration, not to mention ITS ILLEGAL go look it up, type in a search, watch the videos yourself!

  53. 53

Re: Smirks – post 20- Rock on sister. Traveling is good for the soul. Where do you want to go?

  54. 54

Re: PLainJane82 – Spain, or Australia, imo. Both are very neutral politically.

  55. 55

Re: brainbreaking – that's because republicans are the silent majority we don't feel the need to be loud and obnoxious like all you stupid democrats… just makr my words john mccain will win!!!! and if he doesnt this country really is going down the toilet

  56. 56

I used to like Tina Fey. I thought she was witty and creative. However, now that she has aligned herself with a racist nominee and his surly wife, then she can leave the planet for all I care.

    xoxo, Isa

  57. 57

Re: sweetpiece – Hehe. I think anyone who "threatens" to leave in the event of any political outcome, should! If Obama wins, I don't plan to leave, nor have I ever said I would. It's just silly. It's a threat most people can't fulfill. It's a dumb statement.

  58. 58

    Re: nyc_opinion – S
ame question, back to you. Who cares what YOU say?

  59. 59

    Re: PLainJane82 – #39
    Yes! Definitely! :D

  60. 60

What Perez fails to point out is that a lot of people feel the same way if OBAMA gets elected too. Many people are just as fearful for our country if he is the President.

  61. 61

Re: chloe snow – thank god for that! at least she's kind enough to spare us her horrendous acting skills. She's phony enough

  62. 62

Sigh. And I wish all the morons who voted for Dubya would have left prior to the last election - one can only hope . . .
    -
Who here voted for Dubya? Do you think you made a good choice? Why is your boy John trying SO HARD to distance himself from his own party?
    -
No candidate walks in alone - the DNC or the RNC - and all its "pay-back" branches are what walks into office. Vote Republican and your get the same old Republican antics of screw the poor, feed the rich. Just the way it works.
    -
The only "maverick" thing McCain has done was let his anger get in the way of the GOP trying to tell him who was best for VP - and he picked Palin - very poor choice when he could have picked several far better candidates. This is what you republicans should be worried about - John, the arthritic knee-jerk.

  63. 63

    Re: brainbreaking
Most Republicans in the entertaiment industry get ridiculed and black listed by the oh so intelligent and mature Far left Entertainment Industry and in fact many just follow the herd and Go for the Liberal Democrat to book more jobs and not piss anyone off. Everyone knows the majority of celebutards are liberal idiots, they're also over piad actors who do not rleate to the American people and don't suffer the same problems every day Americans suffer. They are more concerned with their next paycheck, Not You!

  64. 64

Re: Smirks – sydney, australia would be a blast. I think sweden is very neutral as well

  65. 65

    Jared Bernstein, Business News:
    -
"Faulty intelligence overestimated the risk from WMD's in Iraq, and underestimated the challenges our military would face from the insurgents.
    -
"In fact, when it comes to risk assessment, economic or otherwise, it is now quite impossible to trust the judgments of our leaders. You can't assess risk if your mind is closed. "
    -
    Yes, he's referring to McCain.

  66. 66

Re: _Alice_ – Sicily, the land of my forefathers for sure. Italy, Greece, Turkey, and parts of the middle east depending on stability.

Separately, Peru, Chile, Argentina, and the Galapagos. Mexico is my ALL TIME favorite. My brother in law is a Mexican National and they have property near Mexico City. It is beautiful and the people are amazing, all OVER the country. I love it there.

That should keep us busy for awhile. :)

  67. 67

    Re: LULU~* – #62
I voted for Bush the first time, but not the second. I do think McCain is different. I LOVE that he's unpredictable. I want somebody AUTHENTIC in office… NOT a milquetoast.

  68. 68

Re: PLainJane82 – Yes, Sweden seems very progressive and tolerant. I look forward to visiting there someday. :)

  69. 69

Re: arrora – "homeless people in cigarettes"?? yeah of course they would encourage them to vote for obama, it's called campaigning!!
I've seen Mccain campaigners in NYC trying to encourage young voters as well to vote for mccain. It's an ELECTION. its all fair game girl. You do what you gotta do to win. Obama has his own campaign to handle the talking to voters and registering. They don't need the help of ACORN and didn't ask for it. Sadly ACORN took it upon themselves to let their political beliefs get in the way of registering voters legitimately. It's a fact that OBAMA only represented as an attorney in the 90's against the State of Illinois. He has nothing to do with their actions and doesn't have time to babysit everyone. He is not responsible for other people's actions.

  70. 70

I love how biased you are, Perez… always taking things out of context to back up some outlandish point you're trying to make. HILARIOUS! This is why I keep coming back to your site. While I thoroughly enjoy the celebrity gossip, I love your political "intellect" even more! Keep it comin', man! haha.

  71. 71

Funny, I feel the same if Obama wins.

  72. 72

Re: Smirks – Nice. I love people who want to explore and travel. If you ever end up here in Deutschland, you'll have a good time. Brat and beer….yummy.

  73. 73

Stupid cunt should leave earth NOW

  74. 74

Let's not forget, McCain had a "political favor" hand in getting his wife off the legal hook when she was found guilty 1) using drugs illegally and 2)stealing drugs from a charity.
    -
Hmmm. Does that seem right to you?
    -
The Doctor who she used in the illegal activities lost his license for life. Oh well, we are not the McCains, don't have 10 homes, 13 cars, unlimited wealth - that said, you think McCain would - at this late date - issue an economic plan.
    -
    Nope.
    -
    Not yet . . .

  75. 75

Re: PLainJane82 – Showing up to drug rehabs, soup kitchens and promising cigarettes, rides anywhere; very shady. Not campaigning. That is pure desperation.

  76. 76

If McCain wins, I'm coming too, Tina!
I think that space shuttle will be pretty full.

    OBAMA 08!!
    OBAMA 08!!
    OBAMA 08!!

  77. 77

I USED TO BE A REGISTERED DEMOCRAT. NO LONGER…. I AM SICK OF THE HATRED COMING FROM THE DEMS AND THE FAR LEFT LIBERALS. I THOUGHT THE DEMS USE TO STAND FOR TOLERANCE AND REPRESENTED THOSE AGAINST HATRED. THEY DON'T LISTEN TO OR AGREE WITH ABSOULTLY ANYTHING REPUBLICAN. THEY EVEN, LIKE MADONNA AND OTHERS, SPEW HATRED. I DON'T SEE IT SO MUCH ON THE REPUBLICAN SIDE. THAT IS WHY I FIND MCCAIN APPEALING. HE IS WILLING TO LISTEN AND WORK ACROSS PARTY LINES. I DON'T SEE THAT FROM OBAMA. SCARY!

  78. 78

    Re: PLainJane82
Actually it's Illegal and there's a difference between registering people to vote and then encouraging them to Vote Obama while they're filling out their paper work…and campaigning. Obama also has been giving The Acorn Group huge amounts of money in Donations $83,2000 to be exact, I wonder why! And they are now being Federally Investiagted.

  79. 79

What a hoot ! McCain is opening his speeches today with "We've got them right where we want them" referring to Obama/Biden. What, the 10% ahead of McCain in the polls? Is that having them right where you want them, itty, bitty John?
    -
    I don't think John likes reality all that much . . .

  80. 80

Fuck, although Ive had a few lol's on the whole parody bit, Im kinda over it. Fuckin over KILLLLLL. The world knows Palin a looney bitch but, get it a rest already. I mean, its SNL, you guys dont have ANY other material?
Fuck Osama, Fuck McOld….GREEN all the way!

  81. 81

Re: dutchletter – YEAH RIGHT! Just say youre a right wing nut job and always have been…

  82. 82

If I had a dollar for every celeb that said they were leaving the country b/c a republican was elected, I would be extremely rich. They really need to STFU.

  83. 83

    Re: cocojo – Why?

  84. 84

Re: Smirks – Smirks - I'm sorry, but at best, he's a authentic liar. I have to ask - do you think the 4.4% tax break he is giving to those who make 2.8MM+ is fair in comparison to the 0.7% tax break for the 60K range?

  85. 85

    Re: LULU~*
ACTULLY LULU IF YOU LOOK AT THE RECENT POLLS…MCCAIN IS COMING BACK AND CLOSING THE DIFFERENCE IN THE POLLS. SO YOU ARE WRONG IT IS NO LONGER 10%. ALSO AT THIS SAME TIME BEFORE THE ELECTION KERRY WAS ABOUT THAT AHEAD IN THE POLLS FROM BUSH. POLLS ARE ACTUALLY WORTHLESS.

  86. 86

    Re: LULU~*
God, I thought I was annoying. Get a life bitch and go get some sun. Your flappy gums never stfu, fuck.

  87. 87

Sarah Palin can not win. America is not stupid enough to elect extreme racists like McCain and Palin. Everyone knows Barack Obama is much more prepared to be president than those two clowns. Barack is on a mission. A mission to save this country and all of humanity. Sarah Palin must be destroyed in the media.

VICTORY THROUGH OBAMA! PRAISE TO OUR SAVIOR FOREVER! DEATH TO ISREAL!

Barack Obama: He'll save every one of us!

  88. 88

Ugh, I will be joining her on that space shuttle leaving earth. I have never been so disgusted in my life by republicans and their party before. What an ignorant group of people. Do you know how stupid you all look and sound???

  89. 89

Re: LULU~* – Absolutely! Don't you think if you make $100 dollars a year, you should pay $10 dollars in taxes, and if you make $1,000 a year, you should pay $100 dollars in taxes? That's called a flat tax, and it's what's fair. You are advocating a redistribution of wealth. From the achievers to the lazy. Is that really what you want? Do you think it's "fair"?!?!

  90. 90

Smirks - I know you are smart enough to understand that no candidate walks into office alone - they bring the whole DNC or RNC with them - why on earth do you want more damage done to this country via the RNC and the absurd riders they throw on bills?
    -
Here's how it works friends - a bill for say, funding for the military goes before congress and the house - but not before a ton of completely unrelated "riders" (call them paybacks) get attached — so when it comes time for the senators and representatives to vote - they are not voting on just the item at hand - they have to "agree to accept/pass" all the little riders attached - which could be money for this state, for that project, etc.
    -
Smirks - I have to ask - why do you want more of the same?

  91. 91

Re: Cecilie – YEAH CECILIE KEEP SPEWING THE HATRED AND DON'T STATE FACTS. I ACTULLY AND REGRETABLY PUT CLINTON IN THE OFFICE FOR TWO TERMS (MR I DIDN'T HAVE SEXUAL RELATIONS WITH THAT WOMEN…MONICA LEWINSKY) THE REASON THOSE YEARS WERE SO GOOD IS BECAUSE WE HAD A REPUBLICAN CONGRESS AND CLINTON WENT ALONG WITH 70% OF WHAT THE REPUBLICAN CONGRESS PASSED THROUGH. I AM ALSO NOT A REGISTER REPUBLICAN BUT CHECKED THE UNKNOWN IN THE PARTY BOX WHEN I REGISTERED. I NEVER VOTE STRAIGHT PARTY LINES BUT INSTEAD KEEP ABREAST OF BOTH SIDES AND THIER ISSUES AND VOTE WHICH ARE BEST FOR ME AND MY FAMILY.

  92. 92

    Re: dutchletter
She's right and McCain will win. The key battleground states will not vote obama. Mark my effen words.

  93. 93

Re: ObamaistheMessiah – STOP SPEWING HATRED. GIVE ME FACTS. WHAT DID PALIN/MCCAIN DO OR SAY THAT GAVE YOU TO BELIEVE THEY WERE RACISTS. ALL I HEAR FROM YOU IS REVERSE RACISIM. GIVE ME FACTS!

  94. 94

McCain's mother a liar (guess this is where he learned the bald-faced lie from)
    -
Its easily verifiable that Roberta McCain sued John McCain's first wife after John abandoned her for Cindy. Roberta wanted a few items from the home back.
    -
Its easy to look up a lawsuit - its a court matter, its on the books for life.
    -
But when Roberta was asked if she ever sued McCain's first wife, her response was:
    -
""I have never heard of what you're talking about. … I will put my hand on a Bible," she said, to attest that she had never sued Carol."
    -
Well, she's a liar - and the remarkable thing is she knows it can be found out, yet she maintains this lie - regardless.

  95. 95

Re: LULU~* – Lulu… I DON'T. Did you know that for every DAY Obama was a Senator he asked for almost A MILLION DOLLARS in earmarks? Whereas, in over 20 YEARS in the Senate, McCain asked for ZERO? Surely, you know that. What do you have to say about it?

  96. 96

McCain today on campaign (MSNBC)- "McCain tries to distances himself from Bush.
    -
Why, when McCain worked so HARD the last two elections convincing you Bush was great?
    -
More importantly - no such thing. You vote McCain, you are voting in the Republican National Party, whether you like it or not.
    -
This "independent" maverick is a load of crap he'd have you believe. Analogy: Its like falling in love with some girl/guy who has a horrible family –you marry them thinking you can leave it all behind. Instead, the family moves in with you. That's how it works.
    -
It will be the same for Obama - voting in the Democratic party.
    -
But at least under Democratic leadership, you can hope for prosperity in time in future. With McCain, he can't operate in a vaccum - there are paybacks to be made.

  97. 97

Re: LULU~* – LULU, who cares if his mother is a liar? I don't and I don't even like McCain. People are grasping at straws on both sides. People keep talking about crap that has nothing to do with the real issues. FYI, people lie. All the time. Both Obama and McCain have lied and flip flopped. They are politicians, it's what they do best. Be fair. They ALL lie. People need to stop idolizing these guys. They do NOT care about us. Wake up. Politicians only care about themselves. Obama and McCain are the same. For them, you are just a vote. A vote into power. Deal with it.

  98. 98

Re: dutchletter – I am not spewing hatred. I have no hatred in my heart. McCain and Palin are indeed extreme racists. Why else are they constantly bringing up Barack Obama's race and telling people they should be afraid of Him because He is a black man and we have never had a black president before? And why is Sarah Palin wearing a white suitcoat to events to remind people that SHE is white and Obama is black? Why are their supporters chanting "White is Right!" at McCain/Palin reallies? I have never seen such blatant racism on a major campaign in my life. This, my friend, is fact. Deal with it.

VICTORY THROUGH OBAMA! PRAISE TO OUR SAVIOR FOREVER! DEATH TO ISREAL!

    Barack Obama: He's a miracle!

  99. 99

    McCain today per MSNBC:
    -
"McCain, meanwhile, ticked off economic plans he has detailed over the past two weeks and told an audience in Virginia that the country could not bear up under four more years like the past eight, implicitly criticizing fellow Republican President George W. Bush"
    -
THEN WHY THE HELL DID MCCAIN VOTE WITH BUSH 98 OF THE TIME ????
    -
Obama issued very details plans today re economy - McCain? "The hour is late; our troubles are getting worse; our enemies watch. We have to act immediately. We have to change direction now. We have to fight"
    -
That's it. Sum total. Can you pry anything out of the comment other than the tired old rhetoric? No.

  100. 100
