The TV execs are low on ideas for good programming. So, they’ve decided to try something new this year. They’re going to convert the usual Grammy nominations into an hour-long TV special event.
Inneresting!
The special, The Grammy Nominations Concert Live! ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ Countdown to Music’s Biggest Night, will air on CBS this December 3rd.
The show will include about six categories worth of nominations.
It will also feature performances by past winners and will mark the opening of the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles.
As for the presenters and performers, that has yet to be announced.
So why the sudden change? You gotta get a gimmick!
Turns out that award ceremonies have been dropping in the ratings.
Last year, the Grammy Awards only brought in 17.2 million viewers.
It made it one of the least-watched Grammys.
