I like what Obama said during the 3rd debate, that young people need to be educated/informed in order to prevent undesired pregnancies (something like that).
Yea! Education/Information is the best prevention.
I know a few women and their boyfriends, very religious, publicly against abortion, and yet, they've had abortions, and the guys' girls had abortions. Publicly they are against it. It takes big balls to be pro abortion.

America's rate of violence against women is one of the highest in the Westen world - I live in Australia, and if you look at the no. of rape cases per capita (averaging out based on population), the U.S has nearly 7 times the number of reported cases. If you think there aren't MANY pregnancies that result from that, you have your head firmly planted in the sand.
At the end of the day, it really comes down to whether or not Palin supports a women's right to choose her own destiny, when it comes to her body. She does not. She would like to overturn Roe v. Wade, which is entirely possible based on who is elected to the Supreme Court. You guys are on the precipice, with a couple of Justices not long for their job. Think of that when you go and vote.
Oh, and one question, to those on here who are speaking in support of Palin's position - if abortion is 'baby killing', how many of you support the death penalty, and believe in your 4th amendment (I hope that's the right one! Forgive me, I'm an Aussie!) right to bear arms? So, it's not okay to make an informed decision about whether you are ready or capable to be a parent, but it's totally okay for citizens to carry semi-automatic weapons? Ummm, does that NOT make sense to anyone else?
Now, I know I don't get the gun thing - people over here do not have them unless they are law enforcement, do some sort of hunting or farming, or criminals. But really, how does flooding the country with death machines make you safer? It seems to me that people can be very free with their perception of 'thou shalt not kill'. Just a little statistic - you have more deaths per capita due to guns than any other country on the planet, and in fact more than the combination of Australia, New Zealand and China… I don't know. I guess it just doesn't make sense to me…

And the last I heard from women who have had the misfortune of having had one (women who in fact sought abortions out because of being raped), one of the questions asked before an abortion isn't whether or not the fetus was conceived willingly or not so there is no way to know with certainty of just how many abortions are done because of rape.
ok, so first off: Obama voted against partial birth abortions not because he hates babies and wants to kill them, but because it is a backdoor way that could possibly lead to the overturning of roe v. wade. Even if you are against abortions, you should still consider the safety of women. If abortions become illegal, many women will find unsafe ways of terminating their pregnancies by going to back allies and using hangers or going to mexico and risk dying on the operating table. Sure, abortion is by no means a form of birth control, but do not punish those who are raped and forced to carry a child that was never wanted in the first place.
Secondly, if you are not going to vote for Obama, at least have a legitimate reason other than him being Muslim (which he is not by the way) and his middle name being Hussein. Seriously? I am friends with so many Muslims and they do not hate Americans. If an American were to go to Iran, they would be treated very kindly. Don't compare a whole religion based on a small percentage who do not even follow the Koran.

I've read a lot of the comments on here, and some of them are ridiculous. How do people not see that by tearing apart each other and the candidates, we're only further encouraging them to do the same to each other? They have people who keep them informed of the issues people are arguing the most about, and it's come down to wondering how much of what we're being told/are reading is the truth? I don't believe anybody is EVIL or whatever you all are saying. It's important to just clear your mind and research issues before picking a side and tying obscenities to people you don't know on a site that's meant for entertainment. No one is going to agree with any one candidate on every issue, and the fact of the matter is we DON'T know the whole truth, and never will. What I've most enjoyed reading were the comments from international readers, all of which I saw to support Senator Obama. I'm not sure what this means, but it would be interesting to hear it from an outside perspective. All I know is, my brother's girlfriend has lived in Alaska her entire life, save for a few years at Colorado State University, and she has awful things to say about Governor Palin. That being said, if everyone (including the candidates) were to get rid of all this animosity and speak frankly about their views, maybe we would see things more clearly.

Why Sarah Palin sucks, beyond the issue of abortion:
-She doesn't believe in science
-She doesn't believe in global warming but admits that we need to cut fuel emissions…?
-Our country is in an economic slum
-Her energy policies only work for the short term
-Clean energy is the key to revitalizing not only our economy but a marketable product to foreign countries such as China
-If we don't jump on the clean energy boat now someone else will…like China. Why? Because they believe in science and export their top scientists to the United States and bring them back to China with top-notch training. Sarah Palin and John McCain believe that drilling a finite supply of oil will solve our "oil dependency". It will, for a few years and then we're screwed again and we'll be buying energy from China.
Also, Sarah Palin believes that the vice president should be more powerful…sound like someone we know? Many the most manipulative vice president we've had in recent history…Dick Cheney.
