The former Secretary of State said that McCain's appointment of unqualified Sarah Palin as his running mate showed bad judgement and that's one of the big reasons why he chose to endorse his opponent.

I've always admired Colin Powell. As a white retired person living in Mexico for many years, this American lives better than he could back home. The perspective I have of politics in the states is showing me an ugly stupid "superior" attitude trying to erupt. Racial prejudice = Nazi beginnings. Listening to Obama and Powell talk about what has to be done should tell us that we all have to help pull us back together. Re: Debaucherina – The total population of Alaska is less than the city of San Francisco. Alaska has one of the highest rape occurrences in the nation. Indigenous peoples have lost jobs because of political favoritism.

Liberals wrote the constitution and bill of rights? There weren't democrats, only federalists and anti-federalists. Frank said back in July that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were sound companies. The Bush Administration along with support from Reps, proposed stricter oversight on Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac 17 TIMES!!! starting all the way back in 2003. The democrats said stricter regulation was not need on the companies. Great job liberals!!!!! They stood by and watched the economy collapse, elect Obama and see how much further they can run our country into the ground!

You were trying to make it sound like liberals have done some much more than conservatives in your argument with hmmmph, and with the way things have changed that's a ridiculous argument. Early liberals were not like democrats or republicans, they were more in the middle. Most greatly feared a large govt. Liberal ideals in a contemporary sense, however, favor larger govt. involvement such as universal healthcare. Don't twist my words to make it sound like I'm bagging on the Constitution, that's ridiculous. My point is that using the word "liberal" to describe politicians back then, and in more recent times does not work, the meanings are much different. If you don't like the democrats in the congress you might want to be concerened about Obama, he praised Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid on their work in the bailout. Although he should be disappointed in their lack of effort.

McCain=4 years in the House of Reps. and 22 years as a U.S Senator
Obama=8 years as a state senator and 3 years as a U.S senator
Palin=6 years as mayor and 2 years as a governor
Biden=36 years as a U.S senator
These numbers are pretty interesting. I honestly admired McCain until he picked Palin as his runningmate. What is she contributing to McCain's campaign anyways?? There are far more capable Republicans. And while Obama may not have the most years of experience in the senate, he does have Biden in his corner and with 36 years under his belt, this is bound to be the ticket to bring our country back to the way it should be.

Universal healthcare will be a disaster, if anyone honestly thinks Obama can give a middle class tax cut as well as fund universal healthcare they're out of their minds. Especially while we're in a recession. He plans to cut taxes for the middle class, add billions of dollars in new funding, he will NOT implement a spending freeze, and he wants universal healthcare, Where is this money going to come from??? The flaw with Obama's plans are simple, you can't spend less money and spend more money at the same time. Most countries that have universal healthcare make up for it with very high taxes. Universal healthcare results in poor quality doctors(lack of competitive care) and makes it harder for those in the middle class to get care, they'll have to wait much much longer to see a doctor. All control of your medical care is handed over to the govt. Would I like everyone to get healthcare? Of course! But by trying to help everyone, the majority will suffer. And I don't feel the need to argue about who's contributed more to our country, liberals or conservatives, it's pointless and there's no undisputable answer.

This is what racism does. It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes positive qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative
qualities in another when there is a color difference.

Even if you don't agree with him/her, his points are sure a hell lot more insightful than yours. You know what your problem is? You can dish it out, but you can't take it when it's slung back at you. You always seem to wonder why you get the brunt of the attacks from a lot of people on here, but it's not because of what you say, which is basically nothing original and just a regurgitation of what you've heard on talk radio and right-wing blogs. It's that nasty attitude of yours, which by the way, you're not that cute to have one. When backed into a corner, all you can do is post the same the BS, which is the typical "you're ignorant and uneducated" reply, when your posts full of grammatical and spelling mistakes indicate that you are exactly such. I can understand you being, angry, though. You belong to a party that has long figured out the best way to control their affiliates and get them voting is to keep them angry rather discussing things civilly with them.

Obama is for CHANGE… Exactly what this country needs. Our economy is on the road to another crash and we need a new party to change that. A new party with morals for everyone in America. Because he's Muslim? No, it doesn't. If you can take note of your history, America is a melting pot- full of all sorts of people and backgrounds. What is American? Christianity is not America's religion… we allow all sorts! Heterosexuality is not in the Constitution, we should accept all people, gay or straight! America is a FREE nation- full of FREE thinking. The woman can't even speak and make sense… If McCain passed away, this woman, who is out of her political league would be our President. We not only would be in economic turmoil, but in serious danger as a nation. McCain/Palin will be another four years of Bush. He may not "be" Bush, but his goals are very Bush-like and something like 95% of the time, McCain agreed with Bush's decisions. Colin Powell realizes that Obama is the presidential canidate that expresses the right ideals, American ideals, and THAT is why he is pro-Obama.

Whoever says that McCain/Palin is qualified for presidency/vice presidency has absolutely no clue on what's going on McCain/Palin is a dirty campaign. All they do is look at the negative things about Obama and not the positive. I am very happy that Colin Powell decided to endorse Obama because McCain did use very bad judgement when he chose Palin as his running mate. I believe this country will be soooo better off without them in the White House.

This election is very simple to educated people…if you want bigger government, more gov't intrusion in your personal lives, higher taxes and a spread the wealth mentality, then vote for Obama…..Bush may be the current president but, for the past two years, the Dems have been in control of the House and Senate. The had the power to effect change and they did nothing. The economy still failed. Public approval rating of Congress is less favorable than the President's rating. If you want change, you need to demand that "term limits" be placed on members of Congress, just as they are constitutionally imposed on the Presidency. There should be no career politicians. Be very scared of an Obama, Pelosi, Reed government.
