The Republicans PAID $150,000 to Make Sarah Palin and Family Look 'Good'

Sarah Palin can take her "I'm for the regular Joe" chatter and shove it!
According to reports, the Republican National Committee has forked over more than $150,000 to dress and accessorize Palin and her family since her 'surprise' pick in August.
This shiz is for reals, y'all!
The expenses were found in the RNC’s September monthly financial disclosure report under “itemized coordinated expenditures.”
It’s a report that typically records expenses for direct mail, telephone calls and advertising. But, as of September, there was a new category of spending, “campaign accessories.”
Here's a little taste of the money the Republicans lavished on Sarah Palin to make her 'hot':
Saks Fifth Avenue (St. Louis and New York): $49,425.74.
Neiman Marcus (Minneapolis): $75,062.63
The RNC also spent $4,716.49 on hair and makeup through September - after reporting no such costs in August.
A spokeswoman for the Republican party declined to answer specific questions about the shopping tab, including whether it was necessary to spend that much and if shopping for the vice presidential nominee was ongoing.
The only reply they would give was, “The campaign does not comment on strategic decisions regarding how financial resources available to the campaign are spent."
But, hours after the story first broke and legal issues were raised, the campaign issued a new statement:
"With all of the important issues facing the country right now, it’s remarkable that we’re spending time talking about pantsuits and blouses. It was always the intent that the clothing go to a charitable purpose after the campaign."
Uh-huh.
Regular Americans are hurting and Sarah blows $70K from Republican donors at Neimans.
A review of similar records for the campaign of Democrat Barack Obama and the Democratic National Committee turned up no similar spending.
Sarah should give Michelle Obama a call. Mrs. Obama does it like the regular American.
She knows how to look good on a budget!
Like, remember when everyone thought Michelle was wearing fancy designer Narcisco Rodriguez and it turned out to be an H&M dress?

I think we can all agree that a candidate for such a high office who has to make so many appearances needs an extensive wardrobe. That is just a fact. The problem for McCan-Palin is that they used campaign donations for her wardrobe when that is expressly prohibited under our campaign finance rules.
We should be focusing on the real issue. Has there been illegal spending of campaign funds? Fact: the 150k came from campaign donations. Fact: campaign donations are not allowed to be spent on personal items, like clothing.
This is America, if you earn your money, it is your money to spend as you please. Unfortunately, Palin did not earn this 150k, it came from donors. That money comes with strings attached. So, while it is personally aggravating to see what I think of as wasteful spending, it's not my job to tell someone with a job how to spend their money. However, breaking campaign finance rules and trying to cover it up… *that* is the issue.
With less than two weeks to election day, McCain down in the polls and low on money, this will only make people less willing to donate. So, this is important.

The vice president is "…in charge of the United States Senate so if they want to they can really get in there with the senators and make a lot of good policy changes…"? No, the vice president's role is much more limited, according to Article I of the Constitution:
The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no vote, unless they be equally divided.
