Defrauding The Government?! Sexy Sarah Does Some Shady Travel

Sketchy Sexy Sarah, you're a sneaky one!
It's come to light that the Alaskan Governor has been charging the state for her children's travel and accommodations to events - some of which they were not invited to - and later altered the wording in her expense reports to suit the rules.
Great!!!!
Since taking office in December 2006, Palin has charged in total $21,012 for her three daughters' 64 one-way and 12 round-trip commercial flights, along with an occasional separate hotel room for the girls.
Alaskan law justifies footing the bill for anyone conducting "official" state business. Palin claims on expense reports that her daughters were specifically invited to events that required travel and accommodations.
And that's where things get a little shady!
Some organizers say Sarah sort of sprung Bristol, 17, Willow, 14, and Piper, 7 on them and others say that the Governor requested their presence in addition to her invitation. Still others say that the girls attended but didn't really do much of anything.
Sexy Sarah, ever the "hockey mom," says she likes to keep the kids close so she can spend more time with them. To which we ask, So where are the boys then, huh? 19-year-old Track and baby Trig? It's just a mite suspicious that she only brings her girls with her, don't you think?
So here's a rundown:
-Last year, Palin asked organizers of the New York Women's Leadership Conference if she could bring Bristol with her, and then charged $1385.11 in airfare and four nights at $707.29 a pop at the Essex House hotel overlooking Central Park…to Alaska, of course. What a nice state-supplied little vacation.
-In January, charged travel expenses for herself, Willow, and Piper to a the Alaska Symphony of Seafood Buffet in Anchorage to - we kid you not - "draw two separate raffle tickets." Very serious state business.
-In July Sexy Sarah dragged Bristol and Piper to Philadelphia for a National Governors Association meeting to the tune pf $2741.26, and then put them up in their own room at the Ritz-Carlton for five nights at $215.46 a night. She cited their purpose as "NGA Governor's Youth Programs and family activities." NGA spokeswoman Jodi Omear says the "Programs" are intended as, essentially, daycare.
-In February Palin requested an invitation for Piper to an American Heart Association luncheon in Fairbanks and then surprised organizers with not just one daughter, but all three! Organizers scrambled to alter table arrangements at the last minute while the little ladies shared their own room at the Princess Lodge for two nights, at $129 per night. Just before the luncheon the Palins greeted their father Todd at the finish line of the Iron Dog snowmobile race…conveniently located in Fairbanks. Hey look at that!
-Last year in February, Alaska flew the girls to Anchorage at $519.30 each to kick of the Iron Dog Race and wrote it off as "First Family official starter for the start of the Iron Dog race." That's so cute.
Three weeks before Senator John McCain completely lost his senses and plucked up Sarah for his running mate, she had expense records changed to include the words "First Family attending" and "First Family invited." Just some minor revisions, you know? Has a much nicer ring than oh, let's say, "blatantly using state money to go cavorting all over."
Know what's funnier? In 2006 Sarah made good on her promise to sell a private jet purchased by her predecessor. She sold the jet on eBay at a loss by the state. She could have used that jet to fly her little brood all over, which would have only cost the state per hour as opposed to individual airfare on commercial airlines.
Former Democratic governor of Alaska, Tony Knowles - who lost to Palin in 2006 - is the only other recent governor with school-aged kiddies during his office. And he disapproves.
"There was no valid reason for the children to be along on state business. I cannot recall any instance during my eight years as governor where it would have been appropriate to claim they performed state business."
We just want to know how much "official business" three kids under the age of 17 can actually perform.

The book, mentions Obama by name on page 82 when it describes Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood: "Our neighbors include Muhammad Ali, former mayor Eugene Sawyer, poets Gwendolyn Brooks and Elizabeth Alexander, and writer Barack Obama. Why does Obama continue to lie about his friend?

"Ayers will be joined by Sen. Barack Obama, Senior Lecturer in the Law School, who is working to combat legislation that would put more juvenile offenders into the adult system," the University of Chicago Chronicle reported on Nov. 6, 1997.
Obama has been criticized for refusing to elaborate on the extent of his relationship with Ayers and for claiming to have had no idea Ayers was a co-founder of the Wesather Underground, which claimed responsibility for bombing the Pentagon, U.S. Capitol and a New York Supreme Court justice's home in the Sixties. Obama is a lier and will only harm the USA - he is not who he has let everyone believe he is.

That to me is a good example to follow in a leader and I admire her for that. There are so many broken homes out there because of the mother or the father’s absence. In my own business trips, I’ve also taken my family with me, and since, probably because of my excellent performance at work, my company never denied me of the opportunity to be with my family and at the same time do business for the company. I can totally relate to Sarah Palin’s actuations and I am even more inclined to vote for her. I don’t doubt that she’s going to do a great job as a leader.

An internal Barack Obama campaign poll has the Democrat ahead of John McCain by just two percentage points.

WILK radio host Steve Corbett said Tuesday he obtained an Obama campaign e-mail about the internal poll showing a tight race. Pollster.com's trend line of public Pennsylvania polls has Obama leading McCain 54 percent to 38 percent.

Obama's Pennsylvania communications director Sean Smith said on Corbett's show that the field organizer who sent the e-mail may have been trying to energize Obama volunteers. Smith wouldn't confirm the internal poll numbers, but he said that the e-mail was sent without permission and that the campaign worker has since been reprimanded.

This woman doesn't have a gradeschooler's understanding of how government works. She gave her husband an office in the capital and an unofficial role in state affairs. She used her position as governor to try to get revenge on her sister's ex-husband. She used a personal e-mail account for state business, copied her husband on official e-mails and interfered in her oldest son's drug bust case. She doesn't understand the separation of personal and professional affairs that is the basis of public service.
Re: Smirks – Many are talking about this Daily Kos post, which reports that an internal Obama poll shows that the candidate is only two points ahead in Pennsylvania. Grant Olin, who heads the Wilkes-Barre Obama headquarters, sent the email out to several volunteers.
For obvious reasons, I am highly skeptical of this report. No recent public polls have put the race even remotely close. In the last ten polls of Pennsylvania, Obama's leads have been, +10, +8, +15, +12, +14, +13, +15, +7, +15, +8. While I doubt Obama will win the state by 15 points, there is absolutely no reason to believe it's close to a two point race. Perhaps internal polls are tightening, but this "leak" could very well be intentional. Typically, when a campaign is well ahead, it has much difficulty recruiting volunteers and having them show up. It's possible that this email was intentionally sent to volunteers to give them more enthusiasm and a reason to devote more time to helping Obama's campaign in the state.
That's the stupidest thing I've heard of - the state actually paying for her kids to have vacation time and stay at the Ritz?!?!? If she wants her kids to have vacation time, fine, but pay out of your OWN pocket! When my dad flies my siblings and I with him to conferences around the world, we have to pay for our own travel expenses, even though his may be charged. So it's "Real American" of her to rob her own people, huh?

What you people who agree with Palin for doing this don't understand is that SHE CHOSE TO GO INTO POLITICS. If she wants to be a mother too, she has to decide which is more important. Making taxpayers foot the bill because she wants to have her kids with her is wrong. The rules clearly state that all guests and expenses are for business purposes only. I never got to go with my parents on business trips. How is she excempt from these rules? Being a mother doesn't give her special privileges. She needs to dig into her own pocket and pay for her children if she wants them there. I highly doubt the "extra" time she spent with her kids was well spent.

If American voters have not yet figured out that Sarah Palin has an ego the size of Alaska, they never will. Everyone has paid for those trips, because when Alaska spends State money, then they have to draw on Federal money for other things. That is money taken from YOUR paychecks that they are enjoying without justification. How about if every politican took their kids along on government business, or doctored the books for every situation that suited their personal wishes. It seems Americans have forgotten that your politicans are supposed to represent YOU. Eight years of corrupt Republican trickery is mind-boggling that such a large population would lay down and accept that.
