    I can dream.lol
    Teddy is toooo cute!

  2. 102

He looks like my shih tzus when they get shaved- cute furry face, skinny body. He's cute though!

  3. 103

lol, he's still cute, although I have a 4 month old standard Goldendoodle (we call him a groodle, this is a child friendly house lol, although we have come up with a new name, the Poo Retriever….) and he looks like he could of possibly swallowed Teddy, he is one big, fluffy and cute puppy.

oh and just a little note to miss know it all Natashja Owens , these crossbreeds are actuaaly in the process of becoming a reconised breed. There is also the fact that when 2 breeds such as a poodle and a golden retriever mix, the litter experiences something called Hybrid Vigour, which means the puppies have less genetic problems then their parent breeds and are usually a lot healthier all round. In fact a normal mutt with unknown parentage is known to have less genetic problems. I'm sure Perez got Teddy from a responsible breeder. Our puppy came with a complete health check, puppy pack, worming, vaccination and micro-chipping. Our Vet actually loves this particular cross and has never come across any problems and says they are also the breed he recommends to families with children. Any breed can come from someone dodgy, so how about doing a little more research before getting up on your high horse.

Oh and to add, my vet also knows my puppy's parents, being their vet as well and assures us they were hip scored etc before the breeder even started breeding them. Also We brush Shaggy everyday with a slicker brush, and I still had to cut out a knot at the base of his tail yesterday. They are dogs, they will roll, they will get knots, you just have to make sure you get rid of them. Many people choose to shave this type of breed as they matt very easilly. Once again Natashja Owens get off your high horse, and if you can come up with anything that I can't counteract, then I will get off mine. lol (sorry I had to have a little rant everyone, I just get the poops with people that bag this breed)

Oh Superjac, I really do feel sorry for you to have been mislead by both the back yard breeder of your mutt and your vet. Ordinary people all over the world have been hoodwinked into believing the rubbish being sprouted by people who promote "designer dogs".

Given the nature of your response, it's clear you have a rudimentary knowledge of dogs, formalised breed recognition and at best a cursory grasp of genetics.

Hybrid vigour is a misnomer and relies on the transition of the interpreted positive genetic characteristics of the parents. Unfortunately, genetics are unpredictable which is why there is no standardisation in any cross breed. That is to say, no two poodle cross golden retrievers will look or behave the same, let alone two dogs from the same litter.

Tell me, is your dog and F1 or F2 cross breed?

  7. 107

The point I'm making is that in a recognised breed, the dogs follow a standard. A litter of poodle puppies should look and behave like poodles. A little of greyhounds should grow up to look and behave like the sighthounds they are. And not all breeders (some of which are very experienced) get it right. So what makes you think some amateur with a poodle and a golden retriever will?

There are many problems with designer dogs - from the cruelty of unscrupulous breeders that ruthlessly overbreed their bitches and charge ridiculous prices for puppies, to the lack of regulation and information required to create and maintain a breed. While I'm sure you love your dog and Perez loves his and both make great pets, you are unwittingly contributing to the promotion and continuation of cruelty by buying a cross breed like this.

I work in a grooming salon,

I just fucking love all the retards who buy dogs like this, don't brush them EVERYDAY and then bitch when their mats are so close to the skin that they cannot be brushed out without HURTING THE DOG.

Golden doodles are PART POODLE THAT COAT REQUIRES DAILY BRUSHING. IF YOU'RE TOO LAZY TO PREFORM THE PROPER CARE FOR DOG, THEN YOU NEED TO GET OVER A 10 BLADE SHAVE.

MATS ARE EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE FOR DOGS! THEY CAUSE PAIN WHEN THE DOG MOVES, AND THE DOG WILL IRRITATE THE SKIN BENEATH THE MAT FROM TRYING TO GET THE MAT OUT ITSELF.

There are lots of very sweet shorthaired breeds out there, yes fluffy dogs are cute, but really, if you can't be bothered to do the work, you don't deserve that magical fluff. PLEASE, WHEN CONSIDERING WHAT TYPE OF DOG YOU WANT, ALSO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT HOW MUCH PERSONAL GROOMING YOU YOURSELF ARE WILLING TO PREFORM!!! BOTH YOU, YOUR DOG, YOUR GROOMER, AND YOUR VET WILL BE MUCH HAPPIER!!!

    Re: Natashja Owens
You say it soo much more nicely than me!!! Bah! I feel so horrible when I have to work on dogs that have horrible mats. I always try to brush out as much as I can without injuring them, but it breaks my heart, they scream and whimper so much!
Poor little Teddy. And people wonder why their dogs are so happy to leave the grooming salon! Because WE had to undo their neglect.

PART 1 (LOL) jumped in here to see if there was any response, And I'm glad that its from people who have knowledge on the subject and not some angry 13 y/o like I so often see in these forums. I know that with the influx of mixing now that there are a lot of people treating their dogs like puppy machines on the puppy farms. But there are also people that only breed 1 litter a year from each bitch and are completely responsible for their pets. My dog is a 1st generation puppy, and yes I do know that there can be a few surprises of what they are going to inherit from the parenting breeds. I do love my dog though and the combination, and no matter the breed they don't come in exact copies of the breed statistics. I don't know where it got lost in translation but I do brush Shaggy daily with a slicker brush, for his well being and I admit he looks cuter when he's fluffy. We had a purebred poodle who was put to sleep last year at only 8 y/o, she had so many things wrong with her that weren't apparent until she was 4 y/o that were obviously a result of inbreeding, which is a common problem in the more dodgy side of Purebreeding.

  11. 111

PART 2 Needless to say the topic of purebred versus mixed breed will always be a major debate, but remember out of the 157 or so recognised breeds of today, only a handful of those were around a few 100 years ago. As for today's pure-breeds, many are actually a product of the late 1800s from older dog types by selective breeding and rigorous culling. I think that there are only about 14 known ancient breeds. There has always been mixed breeding in the search for a perfect pup. Once again sorry for rant, I'm on bedrest atm with too much time on my hands….
