With T-minus 8 days and counting until the election, things are not looking good for the Republicans.
One of Alaska's largest papers - the Anchorage Daily News - has just announced its endorsement of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama.
Ouch.
They called their own Sexy Sarah "too risky" to be one very close step to President of the United States. And that even though the state may have been "captivated" by her nomination, they should not let her "overwhelm their judgment."
Sexy Sarah is indeed seductive!
But the paper said voters need to keep their eyes on the prize.
In other words, McCain is the "wrong choice."

Yes we have had a democratic congress the last two years but national debt, the disappearance and waste of the surplus that Clinton Administration left, and all this economic melt was brought way before that and it a courtesy of a Republican Congress with a Republican President DURING SIX YEARS.

Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read "Vote Obama, I need the money." I laughed.
Once in the restaurant my server had on an"Obama 08" pin, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference–just imagine the coincidence.
When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need–the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight.
I went outside, gave the homeless guy $10 and told him to thank the server inside as I 've decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful.
At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient needed money more.
I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application.
This is some really great news. Finally people are seeing through her "sexy image" She might be a nice lady who looks great, but she doesn't know enough to be VP.

I think McCain is probably a couple of points behind but I definitely don't put a ton of stock in polls since, historically, they have been wrong far more often than they have been right. I also echo Squirrel's view that the media is doing the Democrats no favors this election… I mean, the media ALWAYS touts a Democrat winner but it's been really egregious this year and I think the race is a whole lot closer than we have been led to believe by the MSM. I think the press did a smear job on Palin that unfortunately some people have bought into and it's a shame. Of course she should be subjected to the same scrutiny as everyone else, but the operative word here is "same". Wow… you know *conservatives* who are voting Obama because of Palin?!?! That makes absolutely no sense at all considering Obama is the most leftist candidate in living memory. If I didn't want to vote for McCain, I would vote for Ron Paul but would NEVER vote for Obama as he is pretty much the antithesis of conservative ideology. Interestingly, in California, I know plenty of "McCain Democrats".

Wasilla had a debt of $1.2 million the fiscal year prior to Palin's arrival (not zero, as Kilkenny claims). —- But when Palin left, the city had a debt of $24.8 million – a $23.6 million increase (close to, but a bit larger than Kilkenny states).

The sports center cost $14.7 million, and road projects, $5.5 million. (Kilkenny is basically on target here.)

We would add that Palin proceeded with the sports complex even though the city didn't have clear title to the land, triggering litigation that continues to this day and costing the city an extra $1 million-plus (Kilkenny is accurate here, as well).
