On Monday, Michelle Obama stopped in to see Jay Leno.
She was decked out in a lovely, yellow J.Crew ensemble that probably cost an eighth of one of Sarah Palin’s fancy Saks Fifth Avenue jackets!
The hopeful first lady told the late night host that she and Barack have a policy of spending their own money on their clothes and that she finds great stuff online.
She’s more like the regular gal than Sarah!
During a direct line of questioning from Leno on the subject, Miz Obama stepped away from criticizing Sarah Palin’s $150,000 shopping spree.
She instead said that she’s trying to be “empathetic.”
“A V.P. pick, it’s like being shot out of a cannon. All of a sudden you’re at the center of attention, and you want to look good. You’re living in your home, minding your business, and all of a sudden you’re on the national stage and everyone’s watching.”
She’s so diplomatic!
