We thought it would only be appropriate to go as Jesus to Katy Perry's birthday party!
The former Christian singer, whose dad is a minister, held a Halloween-themed bash for her 24th in Hollywood on Tuesday night.
Much fun was had by all. Too much fun.

We have a new costume lined up for our Halloween party in New York City on Friday.

P.S. Yes, Katy dressed up as the late, great Freddie Mercury from Queen.
She will rock you - in more ways than one.

Re: ShaylaRCakes – Firts of all don't generalize, there are christians that respect the differences of thinking, believes and sexual inclinations, christians that are tolerant and I consider myself one of them; but one thing is tolerance and other thing it's being disrespectful… I bet Perez wouldn't dare to dress as Mohammed (as some people already said) or as Menorah or other religion's sacred symbol becuse he knows that we christians are more tolerant about it, we wont throw death threaths or take revenge just for that, we're just speaking out about how we feel this is lack of respect from him towards we christians; but what if someone mocked about being gay or about gay's right to get married, bet he immediatly be upset and trashing the one who DARE to speak out his opinion about it (wait!! he already has!!), this isn't about funny or sense of humor, it's about the same "equality" you talk about and the first golden rule for that is "RESPECT THE OTHERS SO YOU CAN GET RESPECT IN EXCHANGE".

Perez: I love it when you talk about gossip and entertainment. I DO NOT, however, appreciate you dressing up as a person I believe in and respect as a religious deity, in a mocking way. "Stace Stace" had it right: You would be COMPLETELY upset if I dressed up as a flaming homosexual and made degrading comments about it all night. Awesome costumes! And people, could you at least try not to take EVERYTHING so seriously? It's funny! Laugh, don't hate.

2. LOVE IS LOVE! I have a masters in theology and i have realized that an educated catholic would know that your religion teaches tolerance and love over all else.

I have studied philosophy and theology in depth, and, therefore, I don’t think many of you have formed educated opinions on the issue at hand. I read every single comment so that I can see how everyone who responded feels, and mow it’s my turn. Enjoy.

Anyone who is making a big deal out of this costume is ridiculous. I'm sure if, idk, George Clooney dressed up as Jesus there wouldn't be this much of an uproar. Perez's costume was all in good fun. It's not like he dressed up as Jesus post-crucifixion and made fun of him. THAT would be terrible. But this costume isn't that big of a deal. Plus, if I am not mistaken, it’s from a movie. If that is the case, Perez may be mocking the movie, and not so much mocking Jesus. Also, what if he chose the costume to idolize Jesus? None of you know Perez’s true intent. If his intentions were to mock Jesus and basically hate on him, then that’s a different story… He even mentioned that Parry’s dad was a minister, and I’m sure Perez didn’t dress like that to offend him…. Regardless, you all need to chill out.

uraPIGperez- Anyone who believes that equality is wrong (i.e. someone like you) is “messed” up. If I am not mistaken, the world was created for all to live in peace, not for people like you to bash someone for their sexual orientation. Times have changed since the Bible was written. It is now almost accepted for people to pursue someone of the same sex. You need to get out of the past and look at the present. The world is changing. Get a grip.
Doobiequeen- In all honesty, my family is Jewish, and I have friends who are Hindu, Buddhist, Mormon, Christian, orthodox, reform, you name it, and I’m sure they wouldn’t freak out this much over a costume. There are other tolerant religions out there besides Christianity. Obviously, Jesus has not created so many tolerant followers as you would like to think… have you even read these comments?
Sensible- although I see your point, were you at the party? Did you hear Perez go around making degrading comments all night? I don’ think so. Your post isn’t justified or legit.

Indygirl- AGREED! I must see the Pope costume at least once a year, and no one seems to bug out about that…
Overall, most of the people here hating on this costume are undoubtedly close-minded… Okay, so Perez chose a costume that was a bit offensive. Maybe that was a mistake on his part… But how many of you go to church all the time? Or pray before bed, a meal, etc.? You're all fighting to defend Jesus, but I'm sure none of you follow every Christian guideline. None of you are perfect either, and I'm POSITIVE you ALL make mistakes.
So chill out, back off, and if you hate him so much, quit visiting his site!
