Obama has proposed several tax increases that will definately "put the hurt" on most of the working class people in the US. A married couple making 60,000. under Obama will pay a wopping 16,800.00 as compare to 9,000.00 under McCain. A single person making only 30,000.00 will pay 8,400.00 under Obama and only 4,500.00 under McCain. I really don't believe most Americans can afford the tax increases. Obama says the tax increases are to pay for health care and other social programs.

Obama believes we need to preserve Social Security by stopping any efforts to privatize it and will work across party lines to maintain Social Security's solvency for generations. Obama wants to make private saving easier, cheaper, & more automatic for middle-class workers. He supported the Save More for Retirement Act, which encourages automatic 401K enrollment. Obama also voted for new rules to force companies to properly fund their pension plans so taxpayers don't foot the bill.

It seems quite ironic that, in his own words, he sympathizes and has apathy for the middle class and poor but, he has received over 600 million dollars in unmarked, undisclosed contributions to support his election for President, a job that pays 400K. I guess it's more important to spend the money on his personal ambition instead of the on the people he says he represents. Now, if that isn't self-deprecation and elitism, I don't know what is. Try the FEC , McCain's campaign was running low on $ and he wanted out but winning the primaries brought some money his way and being a part of the public system no longer made sense. Facts don't lie! The only reason the FEC did not pursue it is because they were short 4 members and only had 2 so they have to fill four positions to deliberate effectively by then, this ampaign will be over.
