McCain is a hero. He did go far because of his father, but he also got special treatment to get released because of his father and refused it. After that, he spent 2 years in solitary confinement.
I know most of us couldn't handle such living and he chose to stay there because of his ability to see the bigger picture and what that release would have done. What a hero, to chose what's best for America, than himself. That's the guy I want working for me.
