Carrie Underwood Plays It Safe

Filed under: Politik > Carrie Underwood

carrie.jpg

Hey, Carrie!

Don't hate! Appreciate the different ways that people express themselves politically.

For goodness sake, this is America!

In a recent interview Underwood said, "I lose all respect for celebrities when they back a candidate. It's saying that the American public isn't smart enough to make their own decisions. I would never want anybody to vote for anything or anybody just because I told them to."

We think that's an unfair statement, Carrie!

Why are you assuming to know where people are coming from when they voice their political opinions?

Are you projecting, missy?

I say blame the fools that follow the likes of Oprah! How high should we jump? Who should we vote for again?

Carrie's right on! Madonna's the worse of them. Oh yeah, Orlando Bloom wants to tell you who to vote for and he's can't even vote? Douche!

  2. 102

Re: zeebee Amd yesss.. you are totally fucking right, it's people like me and Carrie who publicly voice opinions that are ruining this world.. not the child molesters, drug dealers, child abusers, pedophiles, it's me and fucking Carrie hahaha WOW.. Find something better to do with your time than making the candidate you support look like all his "followers" are fucking retarded assholes..

  3. 103

Re: zeebee – youre fucking retarded it hurts me to see the shit your saying. i can say without a doubt that your the follower, the one without a brain. do you even know what youre talking about?

  4. 104

Re: TheWorldsGreatest – um, really? i am PROUD to say i am republican.
    as the saying goes……….
be REPUBLICAN……EVERYONE CAN'T BE ON WELFARE!
    pig slut loser whore!!!!!

  5. 105

She is absolutely right. All those celebrities who endorse politicians are idiots. They are doing more damage than good. I back her perspective completely.

  6. 106

Well said! I don't need some stupid celebrity telling me to vote or who to vote for. I am college educated (NOT many celebrities are!) and have a mind of my own. WHAT DO I CARE what P-Diddy thinks or Matt Damon?

  7. 107

yea her and kid rock are definitely my heroes from this election…

  8. 108

Finally!! Shut the fuck up Perez's Bitch Ghost Writer, Celebutards need to keep their mouths shut! Not only is it annoying, but it makes me hate people I'd otherwise not mind if they just kept their stupid liberal opinions to themselves. Just reasons I'll never support Madonna or Tina Fey.

  9. Celt says – reply to this

    109

If she has the right to say that, than they have the right to step out of the scaredy cat box and say who they feel would make the best president. A celeb could tell me to vote for whomever till they were blue in the face, I would still go with who I thought would be the best candidate. It seems like she's indicating that we're such dumbasses that we can't make the decision on our own without finding out what the celebrities think. Get over yourself Carrie…please! She's probably voting McCain but doesn't want to actually say it a loud so she hides behind the whole "lose respect" statement.

  10. 110

Re: zeebee Why is it so fucking hard for you to let ANYONE have an opinion, you are so quick to preach on what you think the world is all about and yet everytime anyone else opens their mouths it is wrong right?! For starters, the world doesn't revolve around you to anyone BUT YOU.. Maybe HALF the reason ALOT of fucking people DON'T like Obama is because he has insane rambling fucktards like you telling us how wonderful he is and how wrong we are for not bowing at his fucking feet.. It isn't Obama I hate, although I do believe he's full of shit, and I did not vote for McCain either so don't even start that bullshit on me, it's the people like you who make me despise the man, you act like brainwashed fucking assholes, this ONE MAN is not going to change the world overnight, to accomplish half the shit he wants to do, IT'S GOING TO TAKE TIME, and who's to say he is the ONLY fucking person in the world capable of that.. Not all of us "jump on the bandwagon" and a good majority of us out there can like or dislike someone and accept the fact that other people won't, and realize that this doesn't make them bad people, this doesn't make them uneducated or ignorant.. You are by farrr one of the most ignorant/retarded bitches I have seen on this site in a longgggg time.. God forbid anyone have an opinion other than you right? lmfaoo.. If people haven't voted yet I am quite sure you are swaying them to the opposite party, congrats! ;)

  11. 111

    Dear Carrie-

You're an American. You've seen Bush run this country. You should already know by now the American public ISN'T smart enough to make their own decisions, therefore we need people like Perez to steer us in the right direction.

    Love always
    heather

  12. 112

    Re: McCainIsMyHero

Sweetie you dont have to reword what I said and try to throw it back in my face. I know you are working with a rather limited vocabulary but please grab a dictionary and maybe even a thesaurus. All I have to say to you is if ignorance is bliss, then dear you are truly blissful! See, I got through that entire comment without swearing, wasn't that nice? Take lessons hun you could learn a lot from me like poise and proper etiquette! You pre-teens are so cute at ya'lls cussing, rebellious stage keep it up!

  13. 113

Be nice Perez, she's just learning about politics. It takes a while to understand that one can be partisan without expecting everyone to jump on the wagon. In the case of average Americans, maybe another 200 years.

  14. 114

I think its really sad that people cant say who they want to vote for and carrie is basically saying that if anyone voices there opinion then they are making everyone look stupid…people should vote for who they like…a lot of celebs including perez have said that they are voting for barack but the majority of them say vote!!! they dont say vote for obama only
people should not let others influence their vote, that makes you stupid. vote for who you believe would make the best president. Do it for you only not for anyone else!

  15. 115

Celt, your a dumbass because she's basically telling you the same thing you said, that irregardless of who or what a celebrity endorses you don't pay attention anyway. So why should a celebrity think they have the gonads to tell us what do.

Don't you think Madonna is royal pain in the ass whining about McCain? I say STFU and let me think on my own celebutards!

  16. 116

I totally agree with her. When celebrities back a certain candidate I feel like they are using their fame to sway young people to blindly follow them.

  17. 117

I agree with her - celebrities should stay the hell out of politics.

  18. 118

are you a total dumbass, perez! oh, wait, u already ARE. carrie did the exact thing that everyone is meant to do. u are doing the exact thing everyone is not meant to do. end of story.

  19. 119

perez is offended cause he has been a total obama whore…and she is right you guys should just say get out and vote…most of you are not smart enough to be talking about politics anyways you just come off as retards with your heads up in the clouds and you alienate your fans that do not agree with your viewpoint…one example you have really pissed me off how biased you have been with this election…makes me like you less perez. if you had been fair and balanced on both sides i would have really looked up to you.

  20. 120

I agree completely with everything she said. Celebs today are persuading young voters to vote for the candidate they believe should get elected. I do applaud those celebs who don't take sides and just encourage young people to vote, but I don't approve of them telling us to "VOTE OBAMA" or "VOTE McCAIN!" Let us make our own decisions. More power to Carrie!

  21. 121

    REPUBLICAN!
The only reason she said that bull is because she's embarrassed to talk about the fact that shes another fucking republican from oklahoma.

  22. 122

I wish Carrie Underwood would shut her mouth about Tony Roma but it's how many months later and she still goes there. I suppose it's ok for your conservative southern preacher man to tell you which way to vote, but god forbid if a celebrity with a different view exercise their freedom of speech. A celebrity is not qualified to have an opinion, only a preacher against gay rights, abortion and basically any other moral freedom of choice. Carrie please stop sniffing on the bleach bottle when they die your hair. And could you stop talking about your ex who is clearly interested in someone else.

P.S. Could you please learn some new stage moves too. I am sick of watching you put the death grip on your mic. Boooorrrriiing.

  23. 123

Re: McCainIsMyHero – your so right about obama focusing on race……i can't believe he actually has a drop down window on his website for people to click on their race…what does your background have to do with helping out the campaign………wrong wrong wrong

  24. 124

Re: && I got a thing for you! – good girl keep the crazies in line:P I like what you had to say… i did not even need to read what she had to say to know she is a total douche. try not to let her get to you. she wants a rise out of you… it makes her feel powerful when she is nothing. she could never be that shitty or "brave" to your face without getting her face beaten in, so she hides behind a computer.

  25. 125

Re: zeebee – seriously? close minded? saying mccain is just a POW who flaunts his whole soldier persona is ridiculously close minded of YOU. hes not flaunting it-its who he is. he's a legitimate patriot who's permanently scarred because of it. go read up on your politics before you throw around crap statements like that.

  26. 126

Well that's just my opinion…..Not sure if I am allowed to express that on a PUBLIC MESSAGE BOARD or will dear perfect Carrie Underwood fly out of someones ass and tell me it isnt necessary to express and I do not have the credentials to post a non-formal opinion on a bloggers gossip board. Guess she came from that place where woman are to see seen and not heard LOL. Maybe Faith Hill and Leanne Rimes should have put the beat down on her fake marketing built country wanna be ass at the CMA's. Then she couldnt keep talking smack about Tony.

  27. 127

Carrie should just say "No" to the "Big Country Hair". Ick. Also, I have less respect for her for judging other celebrities for doing what they want in America. Shame on you Carrie!

  28. 128

  29. 129

I agree with her, their opinion is no better then your's or mine…….and I could care less who a celebrity is going to vote for or their opinion on anything…..I disagree with it too because there are some younger voters who they may just sway with their mouths, when the person they sway may have no understanding of what's really going on……..they may simply vote for someone because their idol is having no understanding of what the person they're voting for stands for.

  30. 130

she is 100% right!!! i HATE when celebrities endorse politicians, who are they to tell us who to vote for. most of the time celebrities are actually the scum of the earth with no morals or values, their lives are consumed with drugs and alcohol!!!!!!!

  31. 131

I like Carrie, but I'm gonna have to say she's probs a McCain fan (since she's from OK) and she's probs embarrassed since most celebs are for Obama…just sayin!

    GO OBAMA!!!

  32. 132

Re: toffuticutie – WOW, you are an idiot!! "people like perez to steer us in the right direction" how about do your own research, use your own brain, and make your own decisions. is perez even college educated????

  33. 133

She is exactly right. It's pretty interesting how people think everyone in America is perfect and will research the possible candidates thoroughly and base their decisions on who they feel is the best for the spot. I guarantee you that over 60% of the people who voted in this election did not research the candidates, nor do they know what they stand for. Remember Howard Stern's idea to interview people about Obama? He asked people if they were happy with Obama's VP pick of SARAH PALIN and people responded they were thrilled. WHAT?! So in essence, these celebrities could potentially have a very strong sway in imposing their ideas on people who have no clue what is going on. And according to you, if celebrities have every right to speak their mind, why are you giving Carrie Underwood hell for speaking hers??

  34. 134

I TOTALLY AGREE WTIH CARRIE! It's about time someone said it! People are too often influenced by celebrities…they don't know who to vote for so instead of taking the time to figure out for themselves they just do what their fav celebs do..I think people like P. Diddy..need to shut up and let people decide for themself!

  35. 135

I have to say actually, that I tend to agree with her. Of course, we live in a nation where any one is free to choose and say what they feel. I feel like instead of celebrities constantly going out there and plugging a specific candidate…they should be out there encouraging people to be smart, learn the topics, the issues, the policies of each candidate and to actually get out there & vote. Most people in the age bracket of 18-24 don't vote let alone are even registered.

  36. 136

Heck yes, Carrie! I completely agree with her. Celebrities are so annoying when it comes to politics.

  37. 137

OMG I couldn't agree more!!!!!!!!!! I like her so much more now!!!!…. It's obviously not directed to people that are educated about the candidates!!!… She obviously doesn't want to influence younger kids that are probably voting for the first time….. Most of them have no clue and are voting based on what they hear on the news or on Campus alone…. RIGHT ON CARRIE!!!!!————————————–BEFORE HE CHEAAAAAATS!!!!!!!————————

  38. 138

such a silly statement. everyone has the right to voice an opinion. even celebrities. and just because you're a fan of a particular celebrity, doesn't mean you have to agree with their opinion.

  39. 139

    Re: zeebee – you're 20 and you're on perezhilton???

now thats…. even more sad than the fact you voted Obama. my vote for mccain cancelled yours out :p

  40. 140

i lose all respect for "celebrities" who think that they are somehow above the rest of us. how ignorant and arrogant is she to think we "little people" are too ignorant to make our own decisions? i do not base my life on what celebrities think.

  41. 141

i agree with her, you shouldnt vote for a certain person just because your favorite celebrity is

  42. 142

also you said "we" but its not actually everyone

  43. 143

PEREZ, SHE IS ABSOLUTELY RIGHT! Young adults (18-23) are swayed enough by celebrities now, what they wear, drive, eat, etc., so why do you think that voting is going to be any different?!?! Celebrities need to allow people to think for themselves and not weigh in for one person or the other.

  44. 144

She's right. Celebrities need to keep their idiotic and ignorant comments and views to themselves!!!

  45. 145

I agree with her. Its great to pick a cause, political or otherwise.. but to use your influence, by telling people who your voting for, to help support a politician makes people less likely to do their homework re: the issues themselves.

  46. 146

Amen sister! Entertainers should stick to what they do best: ENTERTAIN! Not preach their view points and tell us to go out and vote (and especially to go out and vote only if we're voting for Obama, right Perez?).

  47. 147

Re: John Mccain will save America – You really are aware of it all. You rock. No sarcasm, I swear! I wish McCain could be more ahead.

  48. 148

AMEN……finally a "star" who got it!!!!

  49. 149

i hate carrie underwood to begin with.. but this statement just shows how much she really sucks. she thinks shes alllllll thaaaat.
carrie underwood is by far my least favorite celebrity.

  50. 150

Why can't celebrities voice their opinion? It's ultimately up to THE INDIVIDUAL who they will vote for. Only IDIOTS would vote for someone just because a celebrity backed him. The celebrities aren't forcing your pencil at the polls where to put your check mark. You have no right to complain about celebrities standing up for what they believe in, just because you're too damn LAZY to do the reading yourself and then turn it around and say that the celebrities are insulting your intelligence.

  51. 151

I agree its really annoying. its like, vote for this person cause i said so and im famous.
you can say who you are voting for and support a candidate but when they go out and tell people to vote for that candidate and give speeches and do publicity for them then its like ok, thanks but i will do my own research. dont think that your fame is going to make people vote for someone. like, hey if you like my movies, then vote for this person! it is annoying. I respected sarah jessica parker for just going and doing actual poll work. not getting on a high horse and preaching to people.

  52. 152

I agree 100% with CARRIE! I think it's wrong for celebrities to use their status to promote a candidate. People need to make their own choices, but many will just sit back and listen to what the people in the spotlight tell them is the thing to do or what choice to make. And…are any of the celebrities getting paid to back those candidates and advertise for them or promote them on nationwide television shows or other platforms of communication? Millions of dollars go into advertising and campaigning…I wouldn't be surprised if the celebrities who back candidates are getting some pocket lining and/or perks here and there. GOOD FOR YOU CARRIE UNDERWOOD! FIGHT THE POWER!

  53. 153

    Re: poshbabygia
how pretentious of you to assume that just because one is famous, one's views are ignorant. YOU'RE the ignorant one if you think that way.

  54. 154

re: John Mccain will save America:
I don't know how you can be gay and still support McCain. He and Palin are totally not on board with the issues. It's almost like shooting yourself in the foot.
Not knocking McCain, but I just think it's odd.
    Cheers to conservative gays!

  55. 155

    hate her

  56. 156

Re: CDintheDee – you are just stupid and shouldn't speak. i understand that this is a blog and you are free to speak your mind, but you should probably shut your mouth while you are ahead. Bringing up the bottled blond thing, did you happen to go wrong there and are just jealous?

  57. 157

What an idiot! Does she seriously think that she has that much power? Like her fans would be stupid enough to vote for who she was voting for just because she said so! Dumb rednecks hahaha!!!!!

  58. k-lee says – reply to this

    158

I agree with Carrie on this one, sorry Perez.

  59. 159

yer blowin it girl……….be quiet……….and put on some weight.

  60. 160

    SMART girl.

  61. 161

Re: John Mccain will save America

Cancel out all you want Barack Obama is our next president! Thank God! And sweeties you have to be 18 to vote meaning u must only be 2 years younger than me! It's called math love you should learn it! Ya'll are so cute at that young age I just love it!

  62. 162

Come on, Perez - every celebrity knows that a certain number of people will be influenced by whatever they say, just because of their celebrity. I think it's reasonable for someone who has influence over others to be conscious of the possible impact of their public statements.
The world would be a much better place if douches like Diddy, Sean Penn, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, Akon, and Alec Baldwin would just keep their goddamn mouths shut about politics.

  63. 163

Smartest and most balsy thing a celebrity has ever said. Bravo, Carrie. I give her major props and respect for saying a comment like that knowing she will get major hate for it.

I cannot STAND when a celebrity stands up there and continues to talk about Obama and how amazing he is and to go out and vote. If Diddy told me to vote, then I said ok but I am gna vote for McCain, he would say ok dont vote then. These celebs think they rule the world and people will listen. And you know what, Obama is now our President and I guess they know how to take advantage of their young impressionable fans because it worked.

  64. 164

I totally agree. It hinders people from making their own decision. For some reason most people feel obligated to do the things, say the things and have the things that celebs do. I respect people who let people make their own decisions, especially when it comes to voting. Getting your ideas from a false authority does not help you make the right informed decision.

  65. 165

Re: && I got a thing for you! – Who pissed in your cornflakes?

  66. 166

Re: Romy123 – But the actors go out of the country to film and work to avoid taxes (which will continue to rise, dumping even more projects into Canada), so they don't care. As long as they look like they did what "everyone does", to sell a ticket.

  67. MLD says – reply to this

    167

Newspapers and other companies endorse a president, I don't see the difference. Celebrities have the same right to an opinion as we do.

  68. 168

Re: MLD – Newspapers don't endorse - editors do. A celebrity who cannot name why they are endorsing is different that another medium expressing endorsement after covering the issues for YEARS and YEARS and YEARS. Companies do NOT endorse a president. Workers can, and CEO's can in their name, but there has never been an official stance by any company.

  69. 169

I agree with Carrie… it drives me crazy when I'm watching a Madonna concert and she starts bashing McCain comparing him to Hitler, or I'm watching an interview with Heidi from The Hills and she's endorsing McCain, I just really wish celebrities would stop talking about their political or religious views, especially if they're going to try to push the ideas on people.

I think she was harsh in saying she "loses all respect" for them, but I agree that they should just stop talking about it. It alienates fans.

  70. 170

She's totally right - nobody needs to know what the celebs think and they have no right telling anybody what they should do. When they screw up they're the first ones to say "I never wanted to be a role model" - why is it different when voicing their opinions. I wish more people were like Carrie Underwood.

  71. 171

DUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHH PEOPLE BASICALLY SHE IS SAYING "AMERICANS" ARE DUMB ASSES AND CAN'T MAKE UP YOUR OWN MINDS, YALL NEED TO FOLLOW A CELEBRITY….. WELL MS. CARRIE THANX FOR THE VOTE OF CONFIDENCE IN AMERICA……GO FIGURE THE SAME PEOPLE THAT VOTED YOUR ASS "AMERICAN IDOL"……I THOUGHT CELEBRITIES ARE "PEOPLE" WITH THE SAME RIGHT TO VOICE THEIR OPINIONS………

  72. 172

OH WAIT MAYBE SHE HAS A POINT…….MAYBE YALL ARE DUMB ASSES…..SHE GOT ALL YOUSSSSSS TO AGREE WITH WHAT SHE IS SAYING…..HHHMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM…HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  73. 173

I agree with Carrie. Voting is a personal private matter, and I am sick of hollywood shoving their views down my throat like I am some dumb sheep without a mind of my own.

    Go Carrie!

  74. 174

shes another dumb bitch. people don't really give a shit on who celebs vote for, if we believe in the candidate, then we might agree with some celebrities because they are putting their voice out there. wait… isn't this the same bitch that was telling girls to cut names into their cheating boyfriend's carseats ?! i know a lot of girls who are doing that too. . .

  75. 175

I agree wholeheartedly! Good for you Carrie….

  76. 176

    Re: michellness

Carrie is very intelligent and graduated from college magna c um laude. Did you? I agree with her 100%.

  77. 177

    SHES ABSOLUUUUUTTLEY RIGHT.

SADLY THERE ARE JUST TO MANY PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD THAT LOOK TO CELEBRITITES TO TELL THEM HOW TO DRESS, WHAT PRODUCTS TO USE AND OF COURSE WHO TO VOTE FOR.

YOU HAVE AN IDEA OF WHO THEY ARE IN THEIR HEAD AND IF YOU LIKE THEM AND THEIR WORK THEN CERTAINLY YOU WILL LEARN TOWARDS THE CANDIDATE THAT THEY SUPPORT.

HOLLYWOOD, LIKE MOST OF THIS COUNTRY, JUST NEEDS ONE PERSON TO STAND UP AND EXPERESS THEIR CHOICE. JUST LIKE IN HIGH SCHOOL WHEN ALL IT TOOK FOR YOU TO BE POPULAR WAS FOR ONE OF THE POPULAR KIDS TO LIKE YOU AND THE REST WOULD FOLLOW.

SAME PRINCIPLE…BIGGER ISSUE. I DOUBT ANY CELEBRITY DID ENOUGH RESEARCH TO MAKE AN EDUCATED CHOICE.

ILL BE HONEST, I LOVE OPRAH, I THINKS SHES ONE OF THE MOST INFLUENCIAL WOMEN OF OUR TIME AND THERE ARE ENOUGH PEOPLE WHO HOLD ONTO EVERY WORD SHE SAYS…ENOUGH PEOPLE THAT CHOSE WHO THEY CHOSE BECAUSE OF WHO ELSE IS CHOOSING THEM AND ITS NOT RIGHT.

EVERYONE NEEDS TO MAKE THEIR OWN DESICION. THE SAME WAY YOU ARE ALONE IN THAT BOOTH IS THE SAME WAY YOU MUST PICK YOUR CANDIDATE…ALONE.

  78. 178

Re: zeebee – THOSE ARE SOME STRONG WORDS FOR SOMEONE WHO PROBABLY DIDNT EVEN GO TO COLLEGE.

DONT CALL US UNEDUCATED BECAUSE WE DIDNT CHOOSE OBAMA. MAYBE WE DIDNT CHOOSE MCCAIN EITHER. MAYBE I DONT WANT TO CHOOSE BETWEEN THE LESSER OF TWO EVILS. EITHER WAY, DONT JUDGE US BECAUSE WE DIDNT CHOOSE TO JUMP ON THE BANDWAGON.

    HAVE SOME RESPECT SWEETIE…

    YOU LOOK IGNORANT.

  79. 179

    I completely agree!! 100%

  80. 180

Oh for crying out loud! Just because a celebrity opens their mouth and voices their support for a particular candidate does NOT mean they are force feeding you their opinions!

Obviously, if you are eligible to VOTE, you are also capable of making your own decisions. Perhaps there are people who are influenced on a more grand scale by celebrity- but there are also plenty of people in the world who could care less.

As hard as this is to swallow, celebrities also happen to be people; just because every word they happen to utter becomes public domain does not mean they assume we as "regualr" people aren't smart enough to vote for ourselves.

PS- Carrie Underwood is pretty and talented….but her self-righteousness is a little sickening!

  81. 181

carrie underwear, shut you big fat annoying opinionated uninformed mouth. you moron! And not another word supporting PETA and veggieism. ignorant hypocrite btich!

  82. 182

  83. 183

eta: carrie underwear and clay faiken are cut from the same cloth. self righteous loud mouths. it also seems their fans are cut from the same cloth and will follow and support their lord an masters no matter how asinine they show and prove themselves to be.

  84. 184

Re: michellness – that makes the two of u.

  85. 185

    Re: WakeUpPeople – another idiot.
ordinary people are not exposed to tv and media as much as celebrities are.thats the difference. celebriites CAN influence a lot of people.

  86. 186

    Re: tinye68 – amen!!!

  87. 187

Re: Jablazin 1 – read your comment and tell it to me again. celebrities are NOT TELLING WHO YOU SHOULD VOTE? why do they need to advertise? they couldve keep it to theirselves.

  88. 188

Re: zeebee – when tom hanks and oprah ask you to jump a cliff…dont think, just JUMP! THEY Are great philanthropist.

  89. 189

    for once and for all.
THIS SITE TELLS A LOT ABOUT AMERICA!
THE GOOD AND THE BAD BAD.
    ENOUGH SAID!!

  90. 190

She's right on the money! It bothers the sh#t out of me when celebs back a candidate. Its like they think we don't have a mind of our own. If you're voting for a candidate because some celeb is, then you shouldn't be voting at all!

  91. 191

i agree with her, i mean yes we do live in a country where there is free speech however when it comes to election time i do not need celebrities oozing over a candidate, its a major turn off. i mean its not as if we don't know which way majority of hollywood is going to vote anyway, and unfortunately i do believe that there are some people that do become swayed by the way some of their favorite stars vote, that takes away from making an informed decision which is what an election should truly be based on. i want to watch a celebrities movies or tv shows or listen to their music, and not hear them pushing their beliefs upon others or going on and on about politics, leave it to the american people to think through things without you putting your every political belief out there

  92. 192

i completely agree, some of hte people in america are just dumb enough to say "oh Brad Pitt endorses Obama, i love him! So i love Obama too!" without ever looking into policies. Carrie is right.

  93. 193

    I think she's absolutely right!

  94. 194

Re: zeebee – obama is against gay marriages too. sooo…yeaaaahhh..
    FAIL!

  95. 195

NOBODY is changing their mind due to your dumb ass you bitch. get a nostril job.

  96. 196

I agree. Celebs get paid for their craft not their opinion.

just because shes keeping her political views privete doesnt make her automatically a republican or that she is embarrassed. thats stupid to assume, maybe she means what she said which is ITS NONE OF OUR BUSINESS WHAT SHE DOES WHEN SHE STEPS INTO THAT BOOTH. politcial talk is a social phopa and people do it now for the shockfactor and to be controvercial, basically duping people into feeding into their 15 min limelight. and for less intelligent people who dont educate themselves on candidates or dont have the time to, the media which is filled with pushy political celebs is their only means to form opinions. so yes celebs are powerful, and they know it.promoting to go out and vote is fine, but pushing your political agenda on to an easily influenced demographic is abuse of power. they can back who they want but which one of you has the millions of dollars to buy air time and preach to everyone about who you think they should vote for?? its not the same. honestly, when i see that stuff it just seems like they are being condescending assholes who think their voice and opinion is more valid then my own which is far from true. so kudos to carrie, and she is strong enough to take the heat from big celebs who like to over-step their boundaries and what their career entails which is to make movies/songs for MY entertainment. since when do i have to listen to them oustide of that? stick to your fucking scripts.

    o yeah,& im a damn democrat.

i agree with her 100% I think the best thing celebrities should do to get people to vote is to keep their political ideas neutral. Theres a lot of followers out there who will vote for someone just because a celebrity told them to.
