Even in the most racist and bigoted states of our nations, Obama had a huge showing of support. My happiness and hesitant disbelief of the same is almost as painful and wonderful as when I delivered my beautiful and amazing daughter. We've come so far since the undercover investigation novel " black like me" was written (and far passed the time it was popular to discuss!) McCain, in his defeat, made my heart wring, because I was wondering where THIS man was during the entire campaign. I love John McCain and I'm so grateful to him and to his sacrifices. But I'm so thankful he didn't win. I'm so thankful that we as Americans can look past color and race and into the future…It makes me think we have one.
