Prop 8 Too Close To Call

It's looking like Prop 8 will pass.
We feel like crying!
Equality is a right, not a privilege
Equality is a right, not a privilege
Equality is a right, not a privilege

i really can't believe this!! there was such a public push to vote no on h8te! i'm disturbed and completely disgusted. everyone should be equal. period. no one should be denied the right to marriage. IT IS A RIGHT!!! i hope this takes a turn for the better. i haven't given up hope yet. fingers crossed!!
didn't the Constitution also say that voting was a right ONLY for white, land owning MALES?
duh…get a life. People are people. Me thinks you seem a bit of a gayboy yourself, StratMan. Screaming in denial. Heh
it's a shame that it's even so close
sure, we may have gotten past some big racial issues, but people will never be able to get past their homophobia and see gays as human beings
I just don't get it. I really don't.
OK seriously Prop 8 sucks big hairy goats!!! My Canadian friends and i wish we sooooo could vote on this. but we are sending out all the good vibes we can, equality IS a right and no one should be able to tell someone else that they cant legally commit to someone they love just because an inny AND an outie arent involved.
Re: tellin ya what I know – I'm not hatin' on you so don't get defensive. But, I have 4 sets of aunts and uncles who married and didn't have children. If marriage is to procreate does that mean they're not really married? Most of my married heterosexual friends do not have children [yet], does this mean they're not really married until pregnancy??
I'm gonna cry……why are people so ignorant?
This is so upsetting. As goes California, so goes the rest of the nation. Awful.
And for those of you who are counting on Obama to do something - think again. He is AGAINST gay marriage. He believes the Bible speaks against homosexuality and he is therefore AGAINST gay marriage. Read his website or simply google it and look for his previous statements on the matter. That's why Hill should have been our nominee instead.
Yayayayayaya!!! I am so excited about this one. At least the night wasn't a total loss for me!
Re: PIGezHIVton –
hahaha you sound like a homo yourself, you and that other troll who has been replying like crazy. Stop hating yourself, homophobia and extreme hate like yours are signs of homosexuality.
Most straight people I know wouldn't waste their time on a blog trashing gay people simply because they don't care, they're just not gay so they couldn't care less about what happens with them. But you? honey you are in fire XD
I did my part i voted NO, Sucks the state dont feel the same way!! Goes to show their is still ignorant people!
For those who keep saying "Marriage is between man and woman only" I'm from Canada and in my province it's legal for gays to marriage. It's been like that for awhile now, I had to break it to you but I still haven't seen a rain of locusts come down on us.
It's a sad day in California but hopefully those who are against the bill will keep fighting until the end. It does explain the stat why a lot of people didn't get out to get married this time around in California, because things like this happen that their dreams get crushed.
You have civil unions, we have marriage. We are different. 2% of the population should not change the landscape of America.
Marriage was created by MAN, therefore MAN can re-define the terms of it. I hope it doesn't pass…how sad would that be? I believe in a Christian God but I also believe that love has no race, gender, or creed. And my God would only see love and not two men or two women. I don't see how it is wrong.
The supreme court will overturn it anyway!!
Let the dumb homophobes enjoy, it won't last haha
this is sad…but its not over!
Absolutely disgusting. How can anyone vote to include HATE and DISCRIMINATION in a constitution? What kind of society is this???
I'm heartbroken for Californians, as well as Arizonians, Arkansans and Floridians.
Thank GOD Question 1 of Connecticut was rejected. I'm so sad to hear that Prop 8 will probably pass…but don't lose hope. And ignore all of the ignorant assholes - they have no idea what they're talking about. This is just one battle!
Re: URnot1stdumbass – LOL so it all comes down to a simple word for you? gays can marry as long as they don't call it marriage?
it will happen sweetie, and no, we are not different, I have 2 arms, 2 eyes, 2 legs, I work, I pay taxes, I can procreate if I want to, YOU want to think we're different but we're not. Deal with it.
Re: Nerdy_homely_girl –
Im sure im the troll your talking about. your comments about me only make me more powerful and allow my message to spread deeper. that's the best part.
I think you said the best things though nerdy homely girl
"homophobia and extreme hate like yours are signs of homosexuality."
THE TRUTH COMES OUT! ACCORDING TO NERDY HOMELY GIRL GAYS HATE GAYS AND HAVE EXTREME HATE. THEY ARE EVIL PEOPLE. EVEN THE PEOPLE THAT VOTED NO ON THE PROP SEE GAYS FOR WHAT THEY REALLY ARE.
the gays are probably laughing at you, you ignorant uneducated fool.
Re: KyrBear –
Its funny how you say pray pray pray. You pray to the God of the Universe to approve of a detestable act in his eyes. You dont have to believe in God, but I find it incredibly ironic how someone who is Gay or supports the Gay agenda can think that God would want this amendment to pass. I guess if you do pray and you believe in God you just skip over the parts of Christianity that condemns the act of homosexuality.
Very interesting
to the canadians who say they have no problems and gay marriage is allowed.
Uhh.. your fucking Canada… that's the problem.
Celt, apparantley the god you believe in isn't the one from the holy bible because that God shoots fireballs down upon the perverted homosexuals. he hates them so much that a person he told to leave the city before it got destroyed was also killed just for looking back. the real God is one badass motha fucka.
And mark my words this will not get overturned so dream on baby. prop 8 wasnt hate, if you voted no your second rate!
Re: StratMan172 –
hahaha WRONG according to nerdy homely girl, extreme haters like you are just closeted homos themselves.
She's right, straight people don't care about this at all, a straight wouldn't be posting like a crazy maniac in here that's for sure, you are nothing but a self-hating homosexual and it shows, and homely girl's message got to you, that also shows.
That's truly sad. We should all have the right to be with whomever we please. Why we are treated like second-class citizens because of our sexual preference is beyond me. It's all love no matter what way you look at it.
noooooway. whats up with you guys in the us?????????? foreigen countries just started liking y´all and now you scrued this one. this is so sad!!!!
Re: PunkyBrewstein –
Must just be you then. In my book they belong in the White House as of yesterday.
How could it possibly pass?! There was soooo much funding and celebrity advertisements!
That's fucked up; I've never been so pissed.
Just when we make a step forward with an African American president, Americans have to show their ignorance with H8. WTF?
Re: StratMan172 – My message got to you and it shows.
A straight guy wouldn't spend as much time as you're spending right now talking about gay issues, straight people really dont give a f00ck but you, you are clearly a self-hating homo, from your nick "stratman" to your picture, all of it screams HOMO scared of being gay LOL people like you are the saddest.
Im not even from Cali so I couldn't give a flaying eff about this or about any of this really, I make good money and I have a great life down here in Miami (south beach GAY HEAVEN) si I don't need to get married or other people's approval. But still, it's always fun to laugh at fools like you haha take care honey, a kiss on the lips. MUACKS
Re: Ugly_trashy_poor_looking_fat_girl –
Sorry your wrong. a bear has 2 arms 2 legs and 2 eyes also . Anybody could tell when a homo walks in the room because with him comes a sickening feeling. a feeling of disgust, hopelessness and resentment. I do feel bad that your different but what can I do. Its not up to me. You better be grateful we can't vote on the banning of gay people.
Re: marloes050 – And thankfully, you're not American.
i am from new jersey, but i have been keeping up with prop 8. i am so entirely depressed that prop 8 was passed. people are such ignorant assholes…they need to think for themselves and realize that people are just people. don't stop fighting CA. one day people will stop being douchers.
:(
I'm so sorry : ( ….. I don't live in Florida, California, or Arizona, so I couldn't help. But I did tell all my friends that are of voting age in those states to vote against it. I'm soooo sorry that it still didn't work… : (
Re: StratMan172 – You are incredibly ignorant and seriously disgusting as a human being
Re: Ugly_trashy_poor_looking_fat_girl –
It didn't get to me at all. just like McCain started making up false lies about his opponent when he saw defeat its no different. The people I feel really bad for though are your parents and family members who have to put on an act like they love such sick individuals like yourselves. God Bless them for dealing with something so hard. I'd disown my own child if he turned out to be gay. Yes thats right I have a 9 year old son. And he will learn that Gays are wrong and disgusting. And the only reason im here trolling around is because its only 7 30 am there isnt shit to do yet. But reading all these posts of you hopeless things is so funny. especially the ones that thought they were married.
yesss
Re: E59th –
Damn straight. Im so happy to see such a boost in equality for all people. It's a proud proud moment in American History and I'm glad to have voted for Obama myself.
why do people even care about what two other adults do in their lives. They aren't hurting anyone, in fact they are encouraging love and acceptance, two words that go along with FREEDOM. I can't understand why anyone would be against the marriage of two people just because of their sex.
For the religious, who feel it is against God's wishes . . God made gay people. Gay people were not fabricated. No one chooses to be gay. No one chooses to be ostricized. No one chooses to be discriminated against. And I am sure God doesn't appreciate you perpetuating such hate in his name.
For those conservatives worried about the economy, gay marriage will rpomote the economy. The cost of weddings, legal documents, spousal insurance, home ownership, divorce, adoption, taxes, and all other things associated with a married couple all promote the economy.
While those who believe in equality may have lost the battle in yesterday's election, we have not lost the war and we will continue until, like the African Americans and women did, we win our equality. We win our freedom. And I hope, that my children will grow up to witness a homesexual president like the children of proud African Americans witnessed today in the election of Barack Obama.
(my first post was too long, so heres part two)
I know the Catholic church had a lot to do with Prop 8s funding….Although I am a gay I have always kept faith in God and continued my support for the Catholic chuch, to a certain extent…..I know god is not the one hating on me for being gay, however the Catholic Hierarchy of modern times, they are the ones hating on gays….I think Im done with the Catholic church. I see my paycheck every month and on it there are alwas CALIFORNIA STATE TAXES dedected, why should I pay them if I am not going to be treated EQUALY?
Re: StratMan172 – LMAO!! It's so funny that you actually think you're offending anybody, you aren't, nobody takes your opinion seriously.
Re: PunkyBrewstein –
i feel sorry for you… so pathetic, people like you make all the rest of the world hate usa… no to prop 8..
Okay, I realize this is comment number 3 from me, but I am reading through these posts and I want to vomit all over some of them. The predjudices people have against those with a different sexual preference/attraction and those of a different "race" from the majority are disgusting. I am white and heterosexual, and I feel such shame reading this because these are people representing my demographic…utter ignorance. I am so so so sad and so so so disgusted. I really can not believe people at all. Once you are on the soil of this country, you are American. A-M-E-R-I-C-A-N. Isn't that what matters? We don't live in the 1600s. Although I am not super religious, I respect those who are; however, they need to get their heads out of God's ass, and wake up. This is reality. These are human lives that are being effected. Imagine if the tables were turned. Ugh. It is so unfortunate. I really can't express how I feel. I feel so horrible. Seriously, to all of the homophobics, racists, etc (agists, classists, you name it), I HATE YOU; you are all ignorant fucks.
Re: Ugly_trashy_poor_looking_fat_girl –
Lol. keep thinking that. im glad that everyone here thinks a person who is gay but wont come out hates all other gays. shows how united they are. Am i considered homo if I had a threesome with 2 other women?
you see, the more people reply to my messages or say my name, the more my opinions get heard, thats what Im reaching for here, to be heard. To Make a difference. so thanks for your support.
Also awesome joke PIGez HIVton
Time to boycott California. No more CA vacations, no more attending movies made in Hollywood, no more CA wine. It'll be a sacrifice, but those fuckers need to pay.
Re: Ugly_trashy_poor_looking_fat_girl – I am a straight woman and I very much care about the rights of gay people, just as I do the rights of straight. The discrimination against homosexuals today is not unlike the discrimination African Americans experienced just a few decades ago, and even still in some areas. Just know that your view is a dying one and the eyes are opening across the nation little by little. Hopefully, your children are smarter than you. They won't be sheep and will learn to think for themselves and will see that they would rather not have a relationship with their bigoted father, than to close themselves off from the rest of society. Besides, if you are sooo against the rights of homosexuals, what are you doing on this website? Maybe you've got a little secret from the wifey. Maybe you like to bash others to hide your own insecurity. Or maybe you are just scared because you know that homosexuals are here to stay and will soon be treated equal and be publicly accepted into our society, thus thrusting your close-minded views into obscurity.
I think that Obama will work something out, as people are already married in CA. They can't just take away the rights of gay families.
I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS HAPPENING!!!!
PROP 8 SHOULD NOT PASS!!!
EVERYONE DESERVES THE SAME RIGHTS!!!!
EQUALITY FOR ALL!!!!!!!!
Wow. It's amazing that even though gay marriage was passed in Cali, they turned around and banned it again. It's amazing the amount of discrimination they have.
This is why I'm so glad I live in a country where equality is recognized!
Re: htown – LOL Im gay, read my message again, I was talking to the "straight man" who has been here bashing gays FOR HOURS, it's clear that he's a self-hating homosexual, straight people in general don't care, they certainly wouldnt spend 3 hours bashing homosexuals and re-assuring their suppossed "heterosexuality" in a simple blog, a blog that belongs to a homosexual man nevertheless. XD
I think it's nice that you actually care and you are in favor though.
I'm so sorry P-nasty. I wish that I lived in CA so that I could have voted no on h8te.
Every ethnic group supported marriage equality, except African-Americans, who voted overwhelmingly against extending to gay people the civil rights once denied them: a staggering 69 - 31 percent African-American margin against marriage equality. Shame on them, they know better than anyone what discrimination is.
Whites, on the other hand, clearly rejected discrimination: 55 to 45 percent. Latinos were evenly split. The under-30s voted for marriage equality by 67 to 31 percent. The over 65s voted for discrimination by 57 - 43 percent. Such a pity.
perez i am rooting for no to prop h8te. i do not live in california but i live in MA and i am extremely liberal and everyone deserves to love and marry whoever they wish. ill keep you in my thoughts today
I am pleased that Prop 8 passed. I think that many are looking at this as not giving equal rights to all. This is not at all what this is. Throughout time, not just American culture, marriage is defined as a commitment between a man and a woman. I fail to understand why a minority should be given the right to re-define for us what marriage means. I do not have the right to tell anyone who they love or who they can be with but for someone else to then get to tell me that marriage is not longer what marriage has always been seems insane! If same sex couples wish to create their own unions then it should be given it's own title and the issue of what "rights" come with that union is the real issue to be discussed. Marriage is, and has always been, something that happens between a man and a woman, and I am thankful that today that right has been upheld. An interesting side note…many are saying that Obama is a huge reason that Prop 8 passed. Many black and hispanic voters, who in the past have not voted, voted in support of prop 8. Within their cultures the concept of the family is very clearly defined as a man and a woman. Love who you choose but please do not tell me that my marriage is being redefined. What right do "you" have to do that?
Re: capegig –
Actually Obama AND Biden have said they dont believe in gay marriage.
i would also like to thank everyone for their support! i couldn't have done it without you. at my next rally, ill be unveiling my "final solution"
i dont understand why this is even a proposition!! no on h8!
Don't be sad Perez…its only for now. WE WILL WIN THIS FIGHT! We have gotten this far haven't we?
You do have equality. You can marry any woman you wish. Just like the rest of the world. but you probably aren't really going to get the right to use the word marriage. I keep telling you- pick ANOTHER word, but you won't do it. You want the word that is sacred to a lot of people for a few thousand years. A word that stands for something and has legal and moral definitions. JUST pick another word and the legislatures will fall all over themselves giving you the right to bond.
i think it's disgusting that this may pass.
people are so closed minded and ignorant.
im really surprised we couldnt make it work!
:/
but at least george bush the third isnt president!
Re: PunkyBrewstein – I would say it's just you…but I feel like people like you should be embalmed while alive, so cant help yuou.
Who would want to marry you anyway Perez?!
There are worse things to worry about, than to worry about the person you're having sex with.
Economy, housing, healthy. THE EARTH FOR GODS SAKE,Terrorism…
Get over this, and focus on if we'll even have life, let alone gay marriage.
Isn't it ironic that the very people you voted with, Perez, just screwed you over?
if you expect everyone to be tolerant of lesbians, gays, etc., then why can't you guys be tolerant that 1/2 of california feels that marriage should be between a man and woman?…..as a person who is married and has gay family members and friends (and, by the way, i don't judge others - could really care less)…..i feel, as do many others, that if you allow gay marriage it opens the door to others who want to marry family members, maybe have 2 or 3 wives, maybe an animal, etc….it then becomes chaos in communities……
Re: Nerdy_fat_ugly_girl – I just hit reply to the wrong person. Sorry bout that!
ugh! i'm so sorry!
i don't live in california, and i'm too young to vote. . .but i no what fair is!!!
i can only hope that things will change for the youth of this generation–i'm upset!!!
fair?….it's not fair to me as a married person to redefine marriage….and sometimes life isn't fair…it's not fair for me and my husband to pay more taxes than others because we're in a different bracket than others…..a lot of things aren't fair…..
Re: Cottonquinn – I already live in europe and thanks to people like you I plan to stay there.
Re: CaliMomof4 –
Guess you must also feel very insecure about having sex (gays have sex too), friendship (gays have friends too), the relation with your children (gays have children too). So do we need a new word for all those relations? No, because it's plain ridiculous.
Re: StratMan172 –
Strat man gee you look so pretty in your picture. Tell me is it that your bra is too tight and cutting off the blood flow to your brain?
Thank God and Jesus!!! It passed!
