I cannot believe that RACE was more important in this election than experience. An American Hero lost to a man who refused to put his hand over his heart for our national anthem! I have loved ones fighting in Iraq for this douchbag?? Change is NOT higher taxes (because he will raise them..FOR ALL), change is NOT having a president with zero foreign policy experience, change is NOT putting bigger tax hikes on small businesses and its def NOT more government involvement in our lifes. Barack Obama's victory says nothing about the plight of the poor and disenfranchised. While he may be half-black, the reality is, throughout his life, he's gone to excellent schools and has lived a very typical upper middle class life. When are people going to realize that race based affirmative action and/or victim stereotypes do nothing to help the plight of the poor who come in all ethnicies, white included. All these celebrities or bloggers who say they voted for Obama because he is black are being just as racist as the bigots who only voted for white candidates because on their race. I voted for McCain based on issues that resonated with me. I can respect individuals who voted for Obama based on the issues that resonated with them. I do not respect the voters who simply voted for Obama because he's black (or McCain because he's white).

Sadly, this election was decided on emotion, not logic. Hatred of Bush and racism. Now that it’s out of everyone’s system, let’s see how fast buyer’s remorse sets in. I fully expect an apology from the MSM and Obamanots when things don’t get better in America under the Chosen 1. But that won’t happen. We’re in for a long and painful 4 years. The upside is that the hilarity on tap from Joe the gaffe machine and Barry the man child will be worth watching. Wait til Barry has to make quick decisions while not reading a prompter. Hee-Haw! I find it interesting Oprah thinks nothing compares to Barak becoming president. Her priorities are slightly out of whack: I personally think victory over Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan was much more important, let alone the end of the Cold War (won by none other than Ronald Reagan, another president from Illinois) or perhaps landing a man on the moon. Furthermore, why is she celebrating with Jesse "I want to cut his nuts off" Jackson?
Are people that short sighted and forgetful or are they just stupid? I suppose at this point it's a lost cause to mention the tragedies that have occurred due to cuts to the military budget (specifically the CIA) during the Carter and Clinton administrations. For those of you who failed to pay attention in history class, here's a quick Cliff Notes version: CARTER-cut military budget, American Embassy in Iran is overrun, American hostages taken and held for 440+ days, failed rescue attempt costing American lives. In his last year in office Carter finally begins to reverse the cuts, but the damage had been done. Hours after Reagan takes office hostages are released and put on a plane out of Iran. CLINTON-massive cuts to military budget, American Forces operating under a UN mandate in Somalia attacked by Islamic militants…in response American forces are pulled out of Somalia and the UN mission fails (guess what country happens to be an Islamic terrorist haven and is now funding operations through piracy), Bombing of the USS Cole and the World Trade Center is bombed the first time… 25 cruise missiles shot into the middle of the desert hitting no targets of value, Islamic terrorists are allowed to operate and train without fear of repercussion in Afghanistan for 8 years leading to the attacks of 9/11. I sincerely hope the trend does not hold true, but let's not kid ourselves.
Additionally, Barak want to try and negotiate with Iran? Perhaps he misspoke, but this is the same country that is under 4 sets of UN sanctions and is still developing nukes, has threatened to wipe Israel off the map, whose citizens every Friday after prayers march down the street burning American and Israeli flags chanting 'death to America?' You'd have better luck trying to stop a tide. I'm all for negotiation, but with certain people you cannot negotiate. If you think I'm mistaken, please review the events leading up to Nazi Germany's invasion of Poland on September 1, 1939.
As a resident of Illinois I can speak intelligently to Barak’s ‘work’ as a politician. For anyone who’d like a firsthand evidence of his ‘accomplishments,’ please take a look at the Chicago Public School system, Chicago Transit Authority budget issues, the budget crisis faced by the State of Illinois, Chicago’s recent ascent to ‘Murder Capital of the U.S.’ or some of Mayor Richard M. Daley’s most recent issues: from members of his inner circle being indicted, to his 100 year lease of Midway airport, the illegal closure of Meigs Field, and the most recent statistic that 30% of every dollar spent in Chicago is diverted from the intended project and goes into a politician’s pocket. Lastly, no matter what you’ve been told, there is no such thing as a free lunch: somebody always pays for it. Congratulations America, you picked a winner.
