Re: CrazyNinja –
amen, amen, amen.
Never happend before ? I thought the fact that Madela was elected in the same country that put him away and in the land where Apartheid was still an issue, was the first shocker in history !
I hope someone shoots her in the face. I have a dream…
Oprah needs to get over herself. Sure it's a historical moment, just like when Nelson Mandela became president of South Africa, but "nothing can compare to this"??? What about the end of WWII? The first man on the moon? The fall of the Berlin wall? The end of slavery or of the colonial era? I mean, COME ON!!! Get some perspective for crying out loud!
Besides, the Prime Minister of Sweden Fredrik Reinfeldt is of African descent too, the Governor General of Canada Michaëlle Jean is a black woman, The former General Secretary of the United Nations Koffi Annan was African, and so were most of the first presidents of newly independant African countries after colonialism… It's not the first time a black person reaches such a high position against all odds, as far as the rest of the world is concerned. And at the end of the day, it's what he does for his country that matters, not the colour of his skin. Let's see if he can live up to the expectations and really change things, before we get all overexcited and talk about him as if he's some kind of messiah or something.
How many of these people who voted for Barack Obama, these so-called "Christians" even bothered to look where he stands on the issues. Do they realize that Obama has already promised federal funding for abortions? Yep. Our tax dollars, hard at work.
No way in hell is Obama going to bring this nation together! Not with black power players like Oprah spewing shit for her black brother! Please, you black people are just as, if not more racist than the lowest white trash. This weak empty suit will never bring the kind of changes that he's made all of you ignorant dumbasses believe. The only thing that disappoints me more than Obama being Pres is that now all of those "celebrities" that threatened to leave this great nation are here to stay (not that I believed for a minute that any would actually do us a favor and leave!). God bless America!! We're gonna need it more than ever!
Re: tab1969 –
You're so lame. I guess you realize that by calling him a terrorist, you're saying that the CIA, FBI, and Homeland Security are idiots, right? If he were a terrorist would he have even been able to campaign? He wants to bring the nation together, you want to keep it apart. Move to another country, asswipe.
i use to love oprah before her dumb ass comment ever hear of MR. king…there has been a night like this before!
She's a piece of crap and so is the racist fucker she's holding hands with.
The only good thing to come out of this election is that racism is now OVER. I should never have to hear another black person cry racism again. It's done, it's over. Now for all of you welfare rats - BLACK and WHITE - maybe you should all get off of your asses and work…oh that's right, now that Obama is in office you won't have to…you can let all of the hard working Americans pay your way! You are all a bunch of losers - too lazy to make something of yourselves. If Obama can become President of the United States "Anything is possible" right? So get of you lazy asses and make something of yourself!
Re: yrusopredictable – Well asshole racism is now over. don't cry about it anymore…don't want to hear it. It's done done done. We have the first (semi) black President of the United States - voted for by many whites - so shut your mouth about racism. Not a person on this planet today went over to Africa and brought slaves here so quit crying about it. I wouldn't hurt a fly - can't stand to see anything on TV about slavery because it WAS EVIL - why do I have to keep hearing about racism. I am not a racist. Michelle Obama is a racist - now can we start crying???? Amazing she married a man who is half white while she hates white people.
What's sad is that big fat Oprah is thinking of moving to d.c and apparently Obama is thinking of putting her somewhere within his party.
You people are IDIOTS who voted for him. IDIOTS. I cannot wait for the day that you realize this and then there will be the McCain people telling you, "I told you so."
Didn't Oprah support "No to Prop 8"? If not, was she for or against it? She is so influential who knows.
Oprah only cares about black people. She needs to just stop always getting her ugly face everywhere. Always hear she does all these great things, which she does–for black people, what about other races OPRAH???
Re: && I Got A Thing For You: I TOTALLY AGREE 100% - She really just needs to shut her mouth. She is the biggest hypocrite I know. CAN I GET AN AMEN TO THAT?????
# 1 are we alll forgetting that he is half white? Or are we just going to dismiss that? Kinda like he did when he didn't want his white family on stage when he won the election and he told them to stay backstage. You know the family who raised him in a wealthy posh atmosphere? Yea those people. And why are black people shocked to see a black man as president well milano? WE have been an equal opportunity country for how long now? The sad thing is that people are so blinded by the hype that they so not realize the danger they jsut put our country in. Its selfish, uneducated, and ignorant and it makes me sad that the majority of our people are this liberal that they do not realize the severity in what they have done. People won't be celebrating for long.
It's amazing how our race for the presidency has become a civil rights movement. I am not trying pretend that the past didn't happen, BUT- in my generation, equality has been a reality since I was a kid. I have NEVER seen a bus or bathroom that didn't allow black people. I come from the age of affirmative action. Oprah Winfrey has been one of the most successful and wealthy people in the world as far back as I can remember. There are African-American judges, cops, college graduates, athletes (who are amongst the highest paid people in the world) and I guess I just don't see why it had to be about the color of his skin. It seems to me that the people that made that an issue is the African-American community, so in turn, doesn't it seem like they are holding THEMSELVES down? I would like to go ONE DAY without hearing about white people being prejudice. Oprah Winfrey and Jesse Jackson are to of the most racist people I have ever heard open their mouths. In Barack Obama's acceptance speech, I felt like I was listening to Martin Luther King Jr. preach about civil rights, not listening to someone tell me that they want to fix a broken economy…. Obama isn't ready to be president if he isn't ready to NOT pull the race card…Sorry…That's the reality of it.
